Betty R. Martin, 79, Inverness, died Saturday, Oct.4, 2003, in Inverness.

She was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Dayton, Ky., to Lawrence and Bethania Glenn. She moved to the area in 1984 from Big Pine Key.

She was a homemaker.

She was Protestant.

Her husband Jack R. Martin preceded her in death.

Survivors include her two sons, Dr. Randy G. Martin of Inverness and Bret S. Martin of Citrus Springs; a daughter, Leigh A. Martin of South Hampton, N.J.; three sisters, Carol Newman of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ginny Martin of Covington, Ky., and Margie Ashcroft of Niles, Mich.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Bowers, 73 Citrus Springs

Robert G. Bowers, 73, Citrus Springs, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

Born May 27, 1930, in Lima, Ohio, to Roy and Lillian Bowers, he moved here from Hailey, Idaho, five years ago.

Mr. Bowers was a retired school administrator and an Air Force veteran.

He was a life member of the DAV and a member of the Community Congregational Church in Citrus Springs.

Survivors include wife, Beverly B. Bowers of Citrus Springs; two daughters, Cheryl Bowers of Boise, Idaho, and Pam Bowers of Gainesville; son, Steve Bowers of Quincy, Ill.; stepson, Jeff Schowe of Ocala; two stepdaughters, Emily Fisher of Beaumont, Texas, and Stacy Garza of Hailey, Idaho; sister, Delores Bowers of Indianapolis, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.

Brenden Caraway, newborn Orlando

Brenden James Caraway, newborn, Orlando, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in Orlando. He was born in Winter Park.

Survivors include his parents, Thaddeus and Crystal Caraway of Orlando; paternal grandparents, James E. and Roxanne L. Caraway of Dunnellon; maternal grandparents, David and Holly Nickerson of Durham, N.C.; great-grandparents, Walter Lynch of Winter Park, Kate Reich of Winter Park, Richard and Barbara Nickerson of Charlotte, N.C, and Jim and Margaret Soper of Charlotte, N.C.; and an aunt and uncle.

Guy Child, 95 Homosassa

Guy Kenneth Child, 95, Lecanto, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

Born June 12, 1908, in Marshall County, Ill., to Alphonso B. and Corneilia (Williamson) Child, he came here 14 years ago from Henry, Ill.

Mr. Child was an insurance agent for Country Companies Insurance in Henry, Ill. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a 74-year member of the Henry Masonic Lodge No. 119, Henry, Ill., Shrine Temple Valley of Peoria, Ill., and the American Legion Post of Henry, Ill.

Mr. Child was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Crystal River.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma F. Child, on May 28, 1994.

Survivors include son, William Lynn Child of Homosassa Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Kay L. and Terry Steele of Sugarmill Woods, Homosassa; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Stephen Killorin, 60 Beverly Hills

Stephen G. Killorin, 60, Beverly Hills, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, in Tampa.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he came here in 1998 from Hauppauge, N.Y.

Mr. Killorin was an accounting manager. He retired in 1993.

He was an M.P. in Germany with the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966.

He was a long distance runner in college and continued to run on a daily basis and enjoyed all sports, especially football.

He was Catholic.

Survivors include wife of 36 years, Jill A. Killorin of Beverly Hills; two sons, Charles S. Killorin and his wife, Michele, of Long Island, N.Y., and James D. Killorin and his wife, Denise, of Ohio; mother, Lucylle G. Killorin of Beverly Hills; brother, Michael Killorin of Naples; sister, Joan Killorin of Long Island, N.Y; and a grandson.

Stanley Latopolski, Floral City

Stanley J. Latopolski, Floral City, formerly of Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y., died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003.

He was a decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a life member of VFW Post 4927, Centereach, N.Y.

Survivors include wife, Adeline (Rudge) Latopolski; children, Stanley Jr., William, Robert, Linda Neill, Catherine Petrone and Nancy Galardi; siblings, Robert, Dorothy Elrod, Jean Hull and Marion Robinson; and 12 grandchildren.

Albert 'Al' Macko, 75 Inverness

Albert "Al" Macko, 75, Inverness, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2003, in Inverness.

Born Oct. 15, 1927, in Windsor, Canada, to George and Theresa Macko, he moved here in 1980 from Dearborn, Mich.

Mr. Macko served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired truck driver. He was a security officer for Black Diamond and a member of the Teamsters.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ellie Macko of Inverness; two sons, Scott Macko and his wife, Lori, of Erie, Mich., and Randy Macko and his wife, Vicki, of Hernando; brother, Peter Macko and his wife, Vivian, of Lecanto; and several nieces and nephews.

William Robenolt, 89 Inverness

William Harvey Robenolt, 89, Inverness, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born March 15, 1914, in Fayette, N.Y., to Harvey and Ethel (Miller) Robenolt, he came here 19 years ago from Seneca Falls, N.Y.

Mr. Robenolt was a retired general contractor. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Floral City United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, on March 2, 2002.

Survivors include son, William J. Robenolt and his wife, Sheralyn, of McGregor, Texas; daughter, Patricia Evans and her husband, Bernard, of Middlebury, Conn.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Floyd Schweitzer, 97 Inverness

Floyd E. Schweitzer, 97, Inverness, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, in Inverness.

Born Jan. 20, 1906, in Town of Niagara, N.Y., to William and Jessie Schweitzer, he was a winter resident since 1973.

Mr. Schweitzer was a part time farmer in Niagara, N.Y., and a truck driver.

He was a member of Niagara United Presbyterian Church, Town of Niagara, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Schweitzer, in 1992.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Reba Schweitzer of Inverness; son, William Schweitzer (Leeanne) of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Charlotte Hurley (Thomas) of St. Helena Island, S.C.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Hooper Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inverness.

Sofia Jaskold-Gabszewicz, 86 Inverness

Sofia Jaskold-Gabszewicz, 86, Inverness, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in Inverness.

She was born June 17, 1917, in Stryi, Poland, to Kazimierz and Anna Gologorski and moved here in 1973 from Brooklyn, N.Y.

Mrs. Jaskold-Gabszewicz was a retired seamstress and a veteran of World War II fighting with the Polish Army.

She was a member of Polish Veterans of World War II, New York, N.Y.

She was Catholic.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Olgierd Jaskold-Gabszewicz of Inverness.
