Frances Robinson, 84, Homemaker

Frances Robinson, 84, of Lake Panasoffkee died Saturday, March 4, 2000 in Largo. Born in Matherton, Mich., she moved to Florida in 1939 from Michigan. Mrs. Robinson was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #10 and the First United Methodist Church of Lake Panasoffkee. Survivors include her husband, Dick Robinson; two sons, Gerald W. Myers of Redington Shores, Phillip J. Myers of Veneta, Ore.; brother, Jake Thuma of Lansing, Mich.; two sister, Elsie Booth of East Tawas, Mich. and Jean Bailey of Market, Mich; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Frances Robinson were held March 9, 2000 at the Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell, with Rev. Louis Shields officiating. The family received friends at the chapel with Eastern Star services. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg.

Mary E. Williams, 73, Homemaker

Mary E. Williams, 73, of Bushnell died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000 in Leesburg. Born in Providence, R.I., she moved to Sumter County 51 years ago from there. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker in her own home. She was Methodist. Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Williams; five sons, Tommy of Polk City, Gary, Guy, Robbie, Wayne, all of Bushnell; two brothers, Donald Watson of Massachusetts, and Bobby Watson of California; sister, Charlotte Watson of Rhode Island; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Mary Williams were held March 3, 2000 at the Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell, with Deacon John Mortensen officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Bushnell.

Shirley M. Van Dyk, 73, Retired

Shirley M. Van Dyk, 73, of Wildwood died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Leesburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Paterson, N.J., she moved to Wildwood in 1990 from Highland Park, N.J. Mrs. Van Dyk retired 10 years ago.

She was of the Christian Reform faith. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution. Survivors include her husband, Henry S.; son, James Van Dyk of Naples; daughters, Sherry Hoogerheide of Matawan, N.J., and Cindy Lee Waller of Somerset, N.J.; sister, Ryta Bulmer of Wildwood; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

National Cremation Society, Lake County Chapter. handled the arrangements.

Baby Woodward, Infant

Baby Woodward, infant, child of Ann and Steve Woodward, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000. Baby Woodward was born in Arnold Palmers Hospital for Children and women in Orlando.

Parents, Ann and Steve, are members of Trinity Baptist Church in Coleman. Survivors include parents, Ann and Steve Woodward of Wildwood; maternal grandparents, Marv and Ted Bischoff of Canton, Ohio; paternal grandfather, Orda Woodward of Mulberry; brother, Jeffrey Jamison of Wildwood; sister, Brook Woodward of Wildwood. Banks-Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, handled the arrangements.

Myrtle A. Bailey, 73, Telephone operator

Myrtle A. Bailey, 73, of Wildwood died Monday, April 3, 2000. Born in Ocala, she moved here in 1972 from Sunset Harbor (Marion County). Mrs. Bailey was a retired operator for Sprint Telephone Company. She was Baptist. Survivors include one son, Rodger Bailey of Wildwood; two daughters, Myrna McLachlan of Rockford, Ill., and Barbara Stone of Leesburg; one brother, Issac Nix of Ocala; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg, handled the arrangements.

Edmund W. DeLeo, 66, School Superintendent

Edmund W. DeLeo, 66, of Bushnell passed away Monday, April 3, 2000. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he came to Bushnell seven years ago from Whiting, N.J. Mr. DeLeo was a retired Superintendent of Schools in Seaside Heights, N.J., and was well known for his work in Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counseling & Family Counseling in New Jersey; a member of the Citrus County Art League; Icehouse Theater, Mount Dora,; Bill Irle Theater Group, Clearwater; a friend of Bob for 20 years; and attended St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Annie Clipper; two daughters, Cyndi Davis of Bleinheim, N.J., and Gina DeLeo of Clementon, N.J.; three step-daughters, Amber Bird of Waretown, N.J., Barri Kuhlwind of Medford Lakes, N.J., and Chana Bird of Knoxville, Tenn.; brothers, Joseph DeLeo of New York City, N.Y., and seven grandchildren. Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inverness Chapel, handled the arrangements.

Gwendolyn D. Kime, 78, Homemaker

Gwendolyn D. Kime, 78, of Bushnell died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Pasco Community Hospital, Dade City. Born in Montrose, Mich., she had moved to the area 21 years ago from there. Mrs. Kime was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Gregory Kime of Fenton, Mich.; daughter, Sabra Capolupo of Bushnell; brother, Harold MacGillvray of Frankenmuth, Mich.' sister, Dorothea Vandefifer of Frankenmuth, Mich.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. National Cremation Society, Brooksville, handled the arrangements.

Ruth E. Lynch, 63, Homemaker

Ruth Elizabeth Lynch (Callan), 63, of Webster died Sunday, April 9, 2000, in Dade City. Born in Jersey City, N.J. Dec. 22, 1936, she moved to Webster 18 years ago from Jersey City. Mrs. Lynch was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Bushnell. Survivors include her husband, Ken; three sons, Dennis Steuart of Lake Panasoffkee, Gregory Lynch of Leesburg, Steven Lynch of Jersey City, N.J.; four daughters, Jackie Thomas of Lake Panasoffkee, Robin Corio of Old Bridge, N.J., Amy Lynch of Webster, Kathy Abromowicz of Jersey City, N.J.; brother, Vincent Callan of Rutherford, N.J.; and five grandchildren. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.

Adrain F. Miller, 73, Plumber

Adrain Francis Miller, 73, of Lake Panasoffkee died Friday, April 7, 2000. Born in Fort Lauderdale, he moved to Sumter County in 1990 from Orlando. Mr. Miller was a member of Plumber/Pipefitters Union #719 of Fort Lauderdale; American Society of Sanitary Engineers, Founding President of the Florida Association of Plumbing, Gas and Mechanical Inspectors, Orlando Chapter. He was a retired Chief Plumber, Inspector of Walt Disney World. He was an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Thelma L.; three sons, Douglas Miller of Cassatt, S.C., Del F. Miller and Dan Miller, both of St. Cloud; daughter, Dixie Garcia of Ruskin; sister, Catherine Sharrock of Cassatt, S.C.; and nine grandchildren. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.

Glenn F. Underwood, 77, Research

Glenn Farmer Underwood, 77, of Wildwood died Sunday, April 2, 2000, in the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Talihina, Okla. Born in Middletown, Mo., he moved to Wildwood in 1984 from Wellsville, Mo. Mr. Underwood retired from the poultry research division of the University of Missouri Columbia. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3056, Missouri, and Post 10084 in Florida. He received a 45-year service pin from the VFW. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of Oxford Assembly of God Church. Survivors include a sister, Hildred Dixon of Cary, N.C.; two nephews, Mike Dixon of McAlester, Okla., Ron Dixon of Cary, N.C.; several great nieces and nephews. Banks-Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, handled the arrangements.

Harriett E. Greene, 86, Bookkeeper

Harriett E. Greene, 86, of Center Hill died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in Leesburg. Born on Feb. 26, 1914 in Ardena, N.J., she moved to Sumter County in 1981 from New Hampshire. Mrs. Greene was a bookkeeper employed by a department store. She was a member of the Bushnell Chapter #10 OES and a member of the Center Hill Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband David K. Greene; sons, Leonard Williams Jr. of Epping, N.H., and George G. Karrer Jr. of Center Hill; daughters, Marion E. Hartshorn of Tarrytown, Fla., Carolyn L. Wegeman of Neptune, N.J.; stepson, David K. Greene Jr. of Eustis; four step-daughters, MaryEllen Rollins of Indiantown, Fla., Kaye Davison of Cranbury, N.J., Ruth Gato of Hightstown, N.J., and Donna Merritt of Windsor, N.J.; sister, Beatrice Thompson of Lakewood, N.J.; brother, Charles H. Hartman of Howell, N.J.; 28 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held April 15, 2000 at Purcell Funeral Home in Bushnell with The Rev. Wayne Hood officiating. Interment at Center Hill cemetery in Center Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Center Hill Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 444, Center Hill, Fla. 33514 or the OES Heart Fund, P.O. Box 943, Bushnell, Fla. 33513.

A. J. Kendrick, 85, Military

A.J. Kendrick, 85, of Arden, N.C., died Friday, April 14, 2000, in Henderson County Hospital, N.C. Born July 1, 1914 in Center Hill, he was a former resident of Coral Gables; upon retiring in 1977, he moved to Boone, N.C.; also living with his daughter in Florida before moving to Asheville in 1997. Mr. Kendrick was in the military. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. He was Baptist. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Schiller of Live Oak; two sons, Frank L. Kendrick of Columbia, S.C., and Paul Kendrick of Arden, N.C.; sister, Verlie Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas; three brothers, W.F. Kendrick of Lorida, Fla., W.A. Kendrick of Fort Myers, and Stanley B. Kendrick of Lakeland; granddaughter, Hollond Ann Schiller, and grandson, Christopher Lee Kendrick. Services were held April 18, 2000, at the Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell. Interment at the Florida National Cemetery. Memorials to the National World War II Memorial, 2300 Clarendon Blvd., Suite 501, Arlington, Va. 22201.

John N. Wilkinson, 79, Rancher

John Newton Wilkinson, 79, of Bushnell died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in Leesburg. Born May 4, 1920 in Lexington, Mo., he moved to Sumter County in 1960 from Miami. Mr. Wilkinson was a cattle rancher. He was a Navy veteran serving in World War II. He was Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Gladys; step-son, Lloyd Knight of Lizella, Ga.; step-daughter, Linda Herren of Bushnell; several step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 17, 2000 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Military Honors rendered by Marine Corps League #708. Interment was at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.

Harold C. Bertholf, 86, Gas station operator

Harold Charles Bertholf, 86, of Leesburg died Thursday, April 13, 2000. Born in Lexington, Ky., he moved here in 1999 from Toledo, Ohio. Mr. Bertholf was a gasoline station operator. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; sons, Ronald Lee Bertholf of Wildwood and Rickie H. Berholf of Brookfield, Wis.; and four grandchildren. Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg, handled the arrangements.

Daniel ‘‘Tommy’’ Thompson Jr. 76, Farmer

Daniel ‘‘Tommy’’ Thompson Jr., 76, of Okahumpka died Wednesday, April 12, 2000. A native of Webster he moved here in 1985 from Fort Myers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy B.; daughters, M. Elaine Thompson of Reno, Nevada and S. Elise James of Leesburg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg, handled the arrangements.

Frank Barsotti, 67, Maintenance

Frank Barsotti, 67, of Lake Panasoffkee died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in Wildwood. He was born in Italy. Mr. Barsotti was in building maintenance. There are no immediate survivors. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.
