COCHRAN, Sr. Francis `Roy`, 63, of Oldsmar, formerly of Temple Terrace (until 1991), passed away Saturday, July 21, 2001 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. Survivors include his wife of nine and a half years, Janet; two sons, Roy, Jr., Tampa; Rick, Riverview, Fla.; daughter, Lou Ann Robinson, Murphreesbor, Tenn.; stepso, Brian Farabee, Belmont, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Tanya Farabee, Oldsma r; Shannon Hudson, Palm Harbor; mother, Hazel, Clearwater; sister, Ann Grant, Clearwater; brother, Dave, Montgomery, Texas ; 11 grandchildren. Born in Kosciusko, Miss., he moved here in 1971 from Wilmington, Del. He retired as a salesman of commerical electrical switch gear after 35 years in the industry. He was a mason and a shriner. He was also a member of St. Catherine Episcopal Church in Temple Terrace. He was active in both Temple Terrace Youth Sports and as a King High School Booster in Tampa. He was an avid Florida State University (FSU) Seminole fan. He served in the national guard. Calling hours will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday. CONNER, Nellie Catherine, 83, Tampa, died July 21, 2001. Born in Brownstown, Ind., she was predeceased by daughter, Shirley Jordan, and survived by sons, Dallas of Valrico, John of Pensacola, Clark of Plant City, and Mark of New Port Richey; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. FERNANDEZ, Linda Lou, 57, of Tampa, died July 22, 2001 in Tampa. Mrs. Fernandez was the owner of J. & L. Lawn Care. She was preceded in death by her daughter Angela and mother Mary Frances Otero. Survivors include her husband: Jack Fernandez; sons: Vincent and Joe Fernandez; daughters: Sherry Lay and Diana Fernandez; father: Alvin Moore; stepfather: Peter Otero; brother: James Moore; step brot hers: Don Otero, Ronnie and Ricky Moore; grandchildren: Cayce, Angela, James and Christopher. She is survived by her husband, Louis; two sons, William Tornwall and Patrick Tornwall, both of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Mary Roskoski of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Calvin Hite and Carl Hite, both of Tenn.; one sister, Grace Hite of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Born in Tennessee, she moved to this area in 1953 from Miss. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Graveside services will be July 27, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Hilisboro Memorial Gardens.

FRANCE, Kathy B., 52, died on July 20, 2001, in a car accident near her home. She is survived by her immediate and loving family, husband John (Jack), daughters Amber and Amanda. Other family survivors include mother Irene C. Cornelison, brother and wife Edward and Joan Bialon, brother-in-law and wife Lane and Darla France. Nieces and nephews include Joshua Bialon, Betsy Bialon, Debbie Smesko, Alison Batten, Kelly Ravo and their families. Kathy was a devoted wife and mother. Kathy worked full time as business manager in her husband's dental practice. Kathy's main passion and devotion was her husband John and daughters Amber and Amanda. She loved her immediate family dearly. She was born April 23, 1949 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania . She is a 1970 graduate of Pennsylvania State University. Kathy and John were married June 6, 1970 and have lived in Tampa for 26 years. A memorial service for Kathy will be held at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, 709 West Linebaugh, Tampa on Thursday, July 26, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tampa Bay Children's Choir.

GILBERT, Barbara Link `Barbie`, 58, of Tampa, passed away, July 22, 2001 at St. Joseph's Cancer Center. She leaves behind three sons, Pete Partridge and his wife, Vickie; Steven Pervis, and Lance Schwecke; mother and father, Edward and Ruth Bancroft; sisters, Nancy Haynam and her husband, Jerry; Susan Rodriguez and her husband, Richard; onebrother, Robert Link and his wife, Linda; her grandchi ldren whom she loved so dearly, Joshua , Daniel and Sara Partridge, Brianna and Nicholas Schwecke; numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan andmoved to Tampa in 1957. She was a graduate of Chamberlain High School. Her fun job was as a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas. After returning to Tampa, she worked as Office Manager for Erny's Supply. She was not rich or famous, yet she was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Her courage through her battle for life gave all of us a new understanding of what someone could accomplish. A smile and laughter was something we could always count on. She will be missed by the ones she left behind, but we know she is at peace and free of pain. In our hearts we can hear her say, `Miss me, but carry on and always smile`. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born in New York City and moved to Land O' Lakes from Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1996. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Loyless Funeral Home Chapels. He is survived by his brother, Leland Hackney and his wife, Norma of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Gwen Robson of West Palm Beach, Fla.; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Lawrence Drew of Reading, Mass.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born in Riverview to a pioneer Hillsborough County family, a graduate of Hillsborough High School and he attended the University of Tampa. Morton served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Cruiser New Orleans during World War II. He was a partner in the Crowe-Hackney Furniture Company until his retirement. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church. Interment to follow at Ne w Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening (today) from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. JUNGERS, Margaret M., 80, City Center, passed away July 21, 2001 in Bradenton. She is survived by her husband, Anthony J. of Sun City Center; son, Mark A. and his wife, Sandra of Peachtree City, Ga.; a sister, Jeanne Krueger of Marengo, Ill.; two grandchildren, William of Peachtree City, Ga. and Elizabeth of Decatur, Ga. A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mrs. Jungers moved to the area from Lombar d, Ill. She had worked as a secretary for the Illinois Highway Dept. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, past Secretary of Audubon Society, a volunteer at South Bay Hospital, and had worked at the Library in Sun City Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice of Sun City Center. Lewers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

McCREARY, Marjorie Drew, 80, of Tampa, Fla., passed away Monday, July 23, 2001, surrounded by her devoted family. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William E. McCreary; twins, daughter, Mary Jo McCreary; and son, Lawrence E. McCreary (wife, Jackie); three sisters, Dorothy Burger (husband, John); Caroline Norling, and Betty Letzner (husband, Fred); grandchildren, Anita Woodaz (husband, John), Craig Gillespie, Larry McCreary, Troy McCreary, and Christine Fonte (husband, David). Marjorie McCreary had seven great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler and Cassie Woodaz, Megan Gillespie, Mackenzie McCreary, Gracie and Madelyn Fonte and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a former GTE employee of 30 years and a good friend to everyone she worked with. She loved being around family and friends and enjoyed all that life blessed her with. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Carroll Cemetery.

PFEIFFER, Charles F., 88, of Tampa, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2001. He was born in Bedford, PA. on January 30, 1913. He is survived by daughters, Sally J. Lewis of Ocala, Fla., and Janet A. Stair, of Norcross, Ga.; sons Bruce C. Pfeiffer of Richmond, Va. and Paul R. Pfeiffer of Tampa, Fla.; brother, George P. Pfeiffer of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchil dren whom will affectionately and fondly remember him as `Pop`. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Clatha Lenette Moyer Pfeiffer; and his parents Charles Edward Pfeiffer and Mary Witt Pfeiffer. Mr. Pfeiffer served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Mr. Pfeiffer resided with his family in Cumberland, Md. for nearly 50 years prior to relocating to Gaithersburg, Md., where he was em ployed at Gaithersburg Farmers Supply. Mr. Pfeiffer and his wife retired to Tampa, FL in June, 1978. He was a member of the Palma Ceia United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday at the Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, Bay to Bay and Dale Mabry. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

He was a graduate of Tampa Catholic, and was former assistant food service manager at Busch Gardens. He was preceded in death by his mother, Concepcion Rodriguez and brother, Salvador Rodriguez. She also had several nieces and nephews. Born in Rockholds, Ky., raised in Dayton, Ohio, she moved to Valrico in 1978. Esther was a 1957 graduate of Stivers High School, Dayton, Ohio. Preceded in death by both parents. Esther retired fr om IMC, South Wales and worked for several years as a secretary at the Dayton Tire and Rubber Company, Dayton, Ohio. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Brandon, Fla., as well as a member of Sunday Blenders, Temple Terrace Fellowship and Friday Nite bowling leagues. Pall bearers: Tommy Minton, Jack Minton, Raymond Lindsey, Philip Weston, Lynn Richards and Don Turner. Officiating: P astor Peter S. Vande Weghe of Southside Baptist Church and nephew, Pastor Mark A. Lynch of First Baptist Church of South Shore, Ky. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the educational fund established for granddaughter Mallory M. WHITE, Robert L., 64, of Temple Terrace, died on July 21, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ann A. White; daughter, Karen Dunbar and son-in-law, Alan Dunbar of Marietta, Ga.; daughter, Andrea White of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Pauline Wright of Florence, S.C.; four nieces and nephews, seven great-nieces and nephews; and five great-great-nieces and nephews. A native of Florence, S.C., B ob graduated from Duke University and earned a Masters of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. Bob was a professor at the University of Georgia School of Social Work, at the University of South Florida School of Social Work, and at the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy at the Florida Mental Health Institute, where he retired in 1995. Bob was a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at C.E. Prevatt Funeral Home in Temple Terrace. Burial will be on Thursday, July 26, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. WINN, Josephine M., 72, of Lutz, passed away on July 22, 2001 at University Community Hospital. Josie is survived by her loving family: four sons, John G. Winn II of Pensacola, Fla.; James F. Winn of Canton, Fla.; Jerome R. Winn of Coral Springs, Fla.; and Jeff R. Winn of Marietta, Ga.; one daughter, Janette M. Bokee of Lutz, Fla.; one brother, George Bartelme of Marietta, Ga.; nine grandchild ren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 24, 1929, to Frank and Mary Bartelme. Josie graduated from Holy Name Catholic High School in 1947. She then married John G. (Winiacz) Winn on November 12, 1949. Working in the banking community with National City Bank, she relocated to Atlanta, Ga. in 1971 and continued her career with Peachtree then Sun Trust Bank wi th twenty years service. Josie moved to Lutz, Fla. in 1996, where she made her Peace with the Lord. A Memorial Mass will be held in Atlanta, Ga. The Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory may be made to the Pasco Hospice.

ZATARAIN, Esperanza, 88, of Tampa, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2001. Survivors include her four children, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Artiga, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Valdez, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Zatarain Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Roberto Chiong; brother, Henry Lavado; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nep hews. She was greatly loved by all that knew her. The family will receive friends starting Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
