He is also survived by his parents, Ancel and Bea; two granddaughters, Ashley and Sable; five sisters, Jane, Mary, Susan, Cindy and Lynn. He was raised in Louisville, Ky., and resided in Tampa for 25 years. BRADLEY, George W., 58, longtime baseball front office executive and Chicago White Sox special assistant to general manager Ken Williams, passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest September 14, 2001 in Tampa, Fla. Survivors include his mother and father, Mary and Kenneth Hartnagel; sisters, Sandra Lawson and Kenna Ellinger; brother, Michael Hartnagel; stepsister, Joann Ruhl; uncle, J.F. Mr. Bradley was hired by the White Sox in September 1991 as their national crosschecker and held a variety of positions with the organization before being named special assistant to Williams prior to the 2001 season. Mr. Bradley, who was named baseball's East Coast Scout of th e Year in 2000, also worked for the NHL's Detroit Red Wings, the Oakland A's (1968-71), Philadelphia Phillies (1972-80), Detroit Tigers (1981-85), California/Anaheim Angels (1986-88) and the New York Yankees (1988-91). She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, former Chief of Police in Tampa, Neil G. Brown. She is survived by her son, Michael Neil Brown, of Tampa, her daughter and son-in-law, George and Sharon Ann Brown Dragneff, of Tampa, five grandchildren, three great-grandchi ldren, a niece, two nephews and many cousins. Mrs. Brown was born in Linden, Florida, where she met and married her high school sweetheart. She was a homemaker, a member of the Linden United Methodist Church, The Greater Tampa Woman's Club, The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Mary Custis Lee Chapter, Clearwater, and was a Legionnaire with The Sons of Confederate Veterans, John T. Gene was born July 1, 1916 to Chester Arthur Brown and Honora Catherine (McDonnell) Brown in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his sisters, Hilda, Mary, Eileen, Viola and brothers, George and Chester. He was also predeceased by the two loves of his life, his wife of forty-seven years, Ruth Lillian (Hausler) Brown of Albany, New York, and by his fiancee Ada Harling of Valatie, New York. He lived most of his life in Albany and later at the family cottage at Kinderhook Lake, New York. He wintered for many years on Anna Maria Islan d in Florida and was an avid fan of basketball, fishing, and horse racing. He also enjoyed square dancing and music. A Memorial Mass was held on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Albany for the family in that area. A Memorial Mass will be held for his family and friends in the Florida area at Bon Secours-Maria Manor Chapel, 10300 4th Street North, Saint Petersburg, Florida on Sunday, September 16, 2001 at 3:30 p.m. Interment of his ashes will take place at the family plot in Saint John the Evangelist Cemetery, Valatie, New York at a later date.
