ORTIZ, Andres, age 81, of Tampa, passed away Decem- ber 11, 2001. Survived by his wife, Lorenza Santana Ortiz; daughter, Elisa Perez and many other loving family members in Puerto Rico. Mr. Ortiz was the oldest member (17 years) of Iglesia de Dios, La Senda Antigua.

PALEVEDA, Betty Price, 66, of Wesley Chapel, passed away December 9, 2001. She is survived by her four children, George J. Paleveda Jr. and wife, Christine, John F. Paleveda and wife, Pamela, Louise C. Smith and husband, Richard and Shirley V. Rodgers and husband, Michael; brother, Robert L. Price; and four grandchildren, Anthony F. Paleveda, Rebecca A. Rodgers, Tyler J. Smith, and Vincent M. R odgers. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, December 17, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Land O' Lakes, with Rev. Antonio M. Londono officiating. PALOMINO, Rosalie C., 61, of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Palomino. She is survived by her mother, Frances DeMarco Diaz of Seminole, Fla.; her daughter, Lyette Palomino of Newport, Wash.; sons, Robert and Ricardo Palomino of Tampa, Fla., Dion Palomino of Aberdeen, Wash., and Gino Palomino of Medical Lake, Wash. She is also survived by one sister, Petrine Squires; brothers, Frank, Gerald, and Salvatore Ciccarello, and Andy and Nicholas Diaz. Other survivors include nine loving grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; four daughters- in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 til 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Glass Funeral Home, 6718 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at The Garden Sanctuary Cemetery, 7950 131st Street North, Seminole, Fla. RUTKIN, Anthony `Tony` Karl, age 44, passed away at his bedside surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001. A Tampa native, Tony is survived by his daughter, Charmaine; mother and father, Barbara and Ben Rutkin; sister and brother-in-law, Desiree and Alex Leva; his niece, Elizabeth Leva; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Maria Rutkin; grandparents, Florence and Jim McIntosh; aunts and uncles, Sylvia and Billy Rentz, Lew and Kathy Rutkin, Joan and Pat Patterson and Doris Segler; many cousins and relatives; and close friends, Buddy and Jimmy. Tony worked with his father at Tampa Tire Salvage. He was a loving and caring father, son, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine's Episcopal Churc h at 502 Druid Hills Rd., Temple Terrace, FL 33617. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, retired from the US Postal service, a Methodist, and a member of Seminole Post No 111, American Legion. Survived by wife, Daphne; son, Doug of Tampa; daughters, Louvenis Kvaltine of Gainesville, Fla., Marlene Mondragon of Kennesaw, Ga.; and eight grandchildr en. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning at Swilley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack C. Kelley, officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to Parkinson's Research in his memory. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. till service time. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery.

SCHLECHTY, Michael V., age 42, died Dec. 4, 2001 in Greenville, N.C. He was born in Tampa. He is survived by two daughters, Michael Leann and Morgan Lynn Schlechty; parents, Everett Vernon and Nancy Jayne; brother, Mark, all of Tampa and sister, Amy of Redington Beach, Fla. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 2348 Collier Parkway, Land O'Lakes, Fla., 813-949-4565.

THOMAS, Murray Fulton, Jr., 61, of Zephyrhills, passed away Dec. 9, 2001. He was a devoted and loving father for 41 years. He is survived by his four brothers; one sister; his children, Donna Packard, Barbara Gray-Lewis, Martin Fulton Thomas; his three grandchildren, Jason, Jacquelin and Kayla; his great-grand- children, Carly and Jordan. He also left behind many other family members and friend s. There will be a private Memorial ceremony held this weekend. VOGEL, Robert C. Jr., 18, loving son of Robert and Deborah, went home to God December 9, 2001. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Patrick, Christina, Jessica, Phillip and Hannah; grandmother, Arlene Schneider; grandparents, Edward and Barbara Vogel; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 14, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at Incarnation Catholic Chur ch with Fr. Eric Hunter and Monsignor Laurence Higgins officiating. He moved to the area twenty years ago from his native Johnstown, Pa. He was an auto body repairman and a US Army veteran of the Vietname War. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 18 at 5:00 p.m. at 7310 Ryman Loop, Zephyrhills. The service will be conducted by the Dade City Veterans of Foreign War.

HAMM, LeEstes, 78, of Trilby, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001 in Trilby. She is survived by her two daughters, Mattie Wood of Lacoochee, Fla., and Barbara Fry of Trilby; one son, Joe Earl Hamm of Ridge Manor, Fla.; sixteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was born April 1, 1923 in Geneva County, Alabama to Earl LeEstes Keiser and Ada Sweet Keiser. She was a Homemaker and was very proud of her native American Indian Heritage.

She was a retired Sales Manager for Sears Department Stores and a member of the Eastern Star, as well as the Temple Baptist Church in Tallahassee. Survivors include a son, David A. Matthews, Jr. of Hollywood, Fla.; three daughters, Betty Sasser o f Panama City, Fla., Dorothy Case of Dade City and Tinka McKenzie of Tallahassee. Fla.; a sister, Dora Wilson of Talla- hassee, Fla.; nine grand- children; 10 great-grand- children and one great-great- grandchild. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Abbey Funeral Home in Tallahassee at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2001 with Pastor Billy Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.

Splan of Penobscot, Maine; one daughter, Carol Munson of Sherman Mills, Maine; one brother, Howard; two sisters, Eleanor McLaughlin and Irene Greenlaw, all of H oulton, Maine; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Bradford U.C.C. Church on Ft. King Road in Zephyrhills. Commitall services will take place later in the spring at Sherman Mills Cemetery in Maine. Tom was a native of Merrill, Maine and came here with Ruth in 1981 from S herman Mills. He had been a dairy farmer, a member of Bradford U.C.C. Church in Zephyrhills and a Mason for 50 years in the Molunkus Lodge #65 in Sherman Mills. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory be made to Hernando/Pasco Hospice Assoc., 7066 Ft. King Road, Zephyrhills or to Bradford U.C.C. Church at P.O. Box 1626, Zephyrhills, FL 33541. Tom was also a veteran of World War II having served in the 118th Quarter Master Corps as SSGT US Army.

Gibbons, and Olga Villada Barnes and husband Al; a host of godchildren, relatives and other devoted friend s. A native Tampan, Mrs. Casamayor had resided here all of her life. She was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Casamayor was an executive secretary and treasurer of the Central Life Insurance Company prior to retiring. GARCIA, Joseph `Joe` Jr., 69, of Plant City, passed away Dec. 9, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Marian Kelly Garcia; two daughters, Terry L. Castel and husband Joseph, and Brenda J. Kusumoto and husband Seiichi; and three grandchildren, Kristy A. and Kelly Y. Kusumoto and Michael J. Castel. Mr. Garcia was of the Baptist Faith. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps serving in Korea and rec eived the Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Service Stars and one Bronze Star Medal with V for Valor. He was also retired from the New York City Police Department. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Noon, at the Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, with Rev. HEINZE Sr., Frederick C., 82, died Dec. 7, 2001, at his daughter's home in Crofton, Md. He was preceded in death by his son, Chris, and his wife of 57 years, Rachel. He is survived by his daughters, Francis Heinze and Linda Whitmer; brother, Donald Francis Heinze of New York; grandchildren, Stacy and Weston Whitmer of Maryland and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Heinze was born in Boston, Mass. He served during World War II in the 493 Group of the 100th Bomb Squadron. He worked for Borden's Dairy for 38 years before retiring. He was a Mason at Dade City Chapter 48 and a Knight Templar of Plant City. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to LifePath Hospice Tampa.
