MCDONALD, Doris Jane, a resident of Plant City, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001 at James A. Haley V.A. Nursing Home. Doris Jane was predeceased by her husband, Glenn H. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Kay Haney and Margie Lynn Willis and husband, Dusty; two grandchildren, Edwena Haney and John G. Willis and wife, Christy; two great-grandchildren, Kody and Jena Willis; and one sister, Delores Nichols. Doris Jane was an Army veteran of World War II, past president of the Plant City Women's Club; member of the D.A.V. Chapter #64; a volunteer at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital for several years and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001 at 11 a.m. from Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kenneth G. Sanders officiating. I nterment will follow in Hopewell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to James A. Haley V.A. MONG, Jack R. 64, of Wauchula, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at his home. Jack was born in Union City, Indiana and came to Wauchula 18 years ago from Bradenton, Florida. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was a cabinet maker and for many years he was construction supervisor for DeLesline Construction, Inc., Palmetto, Fla. He was a member of Hardee Conty Airboat Club and Amvets. Survivors include his wife, Karen; father, Morris; stepson, Dan and wife, Gilda Cross, Monroeville, Indiana ; two step daughters, Delora and husband, Dana Ford, Pompano Beach, Fla; and Barbara Lowden, Ft. Wayne Indiana ; two daughters, Theda and husband Mike Kulick, Myakka City, Fla., and Rita and husband Bill Bruss, Atlanta, Ga., nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday 7 p.m. at Robarts Family Funeral, 529 W. Main Street (at Florida Ave.), Wauchula, Fla. 33873.

VASQUEZ, Edward, 44, of Tampa died Dec. 6, 2001. Survived by two sons; three daughters; four brothers and two sisters.

FRANCESCHINA, Geoffrey, 48 of Crystal Springs passed away Friday at his residence. Geoff came to this area 12 years ago from Ft. Lauderdale. He is survived by three sons, Joseph, Jeffrey, and Christopher, all of Crystal Springs; two brothers, Peter of Huntington, N.Y., and David of Jackson, N.J.; and his mother, Alice Franceschina of Spring Hill, Fla. Geoff was Catholic and a commercial truck driver. He was a native of Queens, N.Y. Services are to be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Richey Chapel with internment following in Oakside Cemetery in Zephyrhills. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. with Father John Hays of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. SANDERS, Florence Edna Mabel, 83, of Grand Haven, Mich., (formerly of Zephyrhills, Fla.) died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001 in Grand Haven. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sanders; her son, James R. Sanders, and her special friend, Roland Violet. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, JoAnne Sanders, Grand Haven, Mich.; three grandchildren, Jill and Jon Shellenbarger, Grand Haven, Mich., James R. Sanders, Jr., Grand Haven, Mich., Jodi and Edward Scott, Coopersville, Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Rianne Cortez and Pete Cortez IV. She was born April 23, 1918 to Ray and Bessie Mohler in Marion, Ill. She was the co-owner, along with her husband, of a motel in Grayling, Mich., during the 1970's and 1980's. She resided in Florida for several years prior to returning to Grand Have n three years ago. Funeral services will be held in Grand Haven. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens in Dade City. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association.

WIDENER, Elbert M. `Bud`, 71, of Dade City, Fla., died Friday, Dec.14, 2001 in Dade City. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rose Marie Crews. He is survived by his wife, Mary H. Widener, Dade City, Fla.; two daughters and son-in-law, Cheree A. Cockrell, Dade City, Fla., Shirley and Ralph Medford, Winston-Salem, N.C., one son, Robert Allen Widener, St. Paul, Minn.; one brother, William Widener; five sisters, Marie Blevins, Eula Kittrell, Helen Rader, Betty Smith, Ann Widener; his step-father, Lewis Joseph Bolejack; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was born Nov.23, 1930 in Winston-Salem, N.C., and moved to Dade City 23 years ago. He retired from the US Air Force after 26 years of service. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday (tomorrow) at Florida N ational Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Friends may call Monday (today) from 4-8 p.m. at the Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home in Dade. City. BATTLE, Ruth, 71, passed into God's loving arms on Dec. 13, 2001. Ruth was a wonderful wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and beautiful soul. She will be greatly missed; no more pain, no more fighting. BONNELL, Catherine K. `Kay`, age 79 of Tampa, passed away Dec. 10, 2001. A native of Aiken, S.C. and resident of Tampa for over 50 years, Mrs. Bonnell is survived by her son, James Taylor; daughters, Leona Lovelace, Carol Thomas, Peggy Stimpson, Faye Martin, and Frankie Williams; twelve grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. HESTER, Raymond Earl, 81 of Tampa passed away Dec. 13, 2001. Known as `Johnny` to his friends and family in his hometown of Shelbyville Indiana , he called Tampa home since 1955. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jeanette; son, Steve; daughter, Sally and son-in-law, Mario Nunez; son, John and daughter-in-law Linda; and daughter, Suzanne. He was a beloved 'Grandpa' to four; Alex and Nick Nunez, Matthew and Rachel Hester. A World War II veteran, he was a First Lt. in the USAF, piloting the B-26 Bomber. Ray also worked as Sales Manager for Lamont Shimberg helping to develop what is today Town N' Country Park. Before retiring to his home in Lutz, he would own and operate White Sands Mobile Home Park. Mr. Hester will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to LifePath Hospice of Tampa. Ray, Daddy, Grandpa Hester was loved and appreciated, and will be missed dearly.

KLEIN, Helen Fisher, of Tampa, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Dec.15, 2001. Born in Beverly, Mass. Sept. 12, 1909, and a resident of Florida since childhood. She is survived by her son, Charles `Rocky` Klein of Tampa; daughter, Sandra J. Lenhardt of Miami; two sisters, Maxine Fisher of Seminole and Shirley Malcolm of Tampa; her sister-in-law, Rusty McFarlen; six grandchildren; three gr eat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Klein was the valedictorian of her class at Gulf High School in New Port Richey, and a graduate of the Gordon Keller School of Nursing in Tampa. She has been an active member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church for many years. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001 at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Homes, 4207 E. Lake Ave., with interment to follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to service.

Monfort, II of Daytona Beach; two daughters, Neppie Louise Howell of Lakeland and Rossie Ann Monfort of Tampa; sister, Melba LeSueur of Bessemer, Ala.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. A native of Egypt, Ga., she came to the Tampa area in 1964. Mrs. Monfort was a member of the West Shore Baptist Church and a retired registered nurse. Her community contributions include serving on the founding Board of Directors of Angels Unaware, Westshore Palms Neighborhood Assoc. and Crime Watch. SIX, Ray B., 84, of Brandon died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Lucille Six and his brother, James A. Six. Survived by son, Dr. Richard R. (Carolyn) Six of Brandon; daughter, Kathleen S. (Fred) Vincent of Venice, Fla.; four grandchildren, Debby L. Hector of Raleigh, N.C., Julie Pearson of Houston, Texas , David Six of Valrico, and William R. Vincent of Tampa. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Services and burial will be in Clendenin, West Virginia.
