SULLIVAN, Winona `Winnie`, 81, of Tampa passed away March 29, 2002. Born in Booneville, Mo., she was Catholic by faith and a Executive Secretary for the Aviation Authority. She was one of the founding members of the Central Florida Theater Organ Society; Member of the Genealogy Society; Dana Shores Women's Club; Air Force Association; and the Church of the Incarnation. Winnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Edwin J. Sullivan in January of this year. Survivors include his son, Edward Addison Sullivan; daughters, JoAnn Wedge, Paula Swain, Bonnie Edwards; brother, John B. Hamlin; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at the Church of the Incarnation, 5124 Gateway Dr. with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Central Florida Theater Organ Society, c/o JoAnn Wedge, PO Box 6544, Seffner, FL 33585.

ZAMBITO, Mildred M., 82, lifelong Tampa resident, passed away March 28, 2002 in Tampa. Mrs. Zambito was preceded in death by her husband Ignazio `John` Zambito. Survivors include her son, Joe Zambito and wife Sara; daughter, Felicia Van Heertum and husband Bruce; brother, Benito Menendez; grandchildren, Jolene and Lorene Zambito, Joseph John Zambito and wife Lorraine, Natalie Buda and Jimmy Figga; and great-grandchildren, Joseph Ignazio and Selena Zambito. Mrs. Zambito was a cigar roller, a salesperson at Pollar's Dress Shop and a retired dairy owner. Funeral services will be held Monday 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. at

BAEKEY, Richard Aldred, Sr., 76, died March 25, 2002 at the VA Nursing Home in Tampa. He is now with our Lord. His parents were Louis Alton Baekey and Gladys Peal. Richard was born in Havre de Grace, Md. He is survived by his beloved wife Marjorie and their children: Jim C. Lane, a Stair Builder & Character First Consultant and Cherie Black both of Plant City, Carole Alcock an Attorney in S. Af rica, Barbara Rockstrah of Oregon, Navy Master Chief Richard Baekey Jr., Dr. Paul Ames Baekey of Hollywood, Fla. and David Mark Baekey of Tampa; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He moved here and married Marjorie at Plant City First Baptist where they were both members. He was a gentle and compassionate person who loved his family. He served his country as a Lt. Commander in the US Navy , flying jets from 19 US Aircraft Carriers for 27 years. He taught Naval Engineering, Celestial Navigation and Naval Leadership, two years at Stanford, and three years at University of Oklahoma. He had 4400 hours of flight time. Much of his Naval history and memoirs were presented to the Pensacola Naval Museum three years ago. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association at MacDill Air Force Base and his wife, Marjorie, was Secretary of the Retired Officers Wives Club. Upon retirement from the Navy, he was asked to serve in the US Air Force, where he taught Flight Safety, for his last two years in the military. He was District Supervisor II Florida Parole and Probation Commission for South Florida for five years. He was a volunteer at MOSI in theirflight shows. He volunteered as a judge for The Heart Association in Brandon in 1995. He enjoyed his retirement living at Country Meadows, where he and Marjorie joined in many of the activities, always hand in hand wherever they went. He will be missed by all his family, friends, and their Bible Study class at First Baptist, who have held him in their prayers through his four years of being hospitalized. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Plant City, 503 N. Palmer St. on Thursday, April 4, at 3 p.m. Dr. Ron Churchill will officiate. The family prefers silk flowers for his memorial. Family and friends are welcome.

CULLISON, Joy R., age 96 of Tampa, passed away Friday, March 30, 2002 in Tampa. Survivors include her son, Larry Cullison and his wife, Mary K., of Temple Terrace; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2002, 2 p.m. at Forest Hills United Methodist Church, where she was a longtime member. Rev. Dr. Robert Martin will be officiating. Contributions may be made to the Joy Cullison Memorial Fund, Acorn Trace Apartments, 11115 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, FL 33612, where she spent her last wonderful 20 years.

GILLESPIE, Kenneth I., age 81, died March 28, 2002 after a brief illness. Born Nov. 9, 1920 in Akron, Ohio, currently residing in St. Petersburg, Fla., Ken was President of Gillespie-Pilcher Realty Co., and Ken Gillespie Realty & Building Co. He was a Realtor, Builder and Developer in Akron, Ohio. Ken was a World War II veteran and member of Akron Homebuilders, Akron Board of Realtors and American Legion. He was very devoted to his family and loved traveling, boating and bicycling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet J. Gillespie (nee Hartigan); and is survived by his brother, Haywood of Ocala, Fla.; sister, Tina Manges of Diamond, Ohio; sons, K. Patrick (Jayne) of Wadsworth, Ohio, James M. (Diane) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Robert H. (Kris) of Brandon, Fla.; daughters, D onna M. Stalnaker (Bill) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Margaret A. Sofran (Gene) of Valrico, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Hospice-Woodside Chapel, 6770 102nd Street N., Pinellas Park, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of The Florida Suncoast, 300 East Bay Drive, Largo, FL 33770.

HALL, Maebell, 55, of Gibsonton, Fla., died Saturday, March 30, 2002 at Tampa General Hospital. She was a homemaker and is survived by two daughters, Christal Hall and Vickie Rock, both of Riverview, Fla.; companion, Rufus `Shorty` Harrell of Gibsonton, Fla.; three sisters, Bernice Hafer of Tampa, Fla., Evelyn Meredith of Gibsonton, Fla., and Sonja Curtis of Brandon, Fla.; a grandson, Zachary Tyler Rock. Funeral Service 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, Fla., with Reverend Curtis G. Frederick officiating. Interment Fellowship Cemetery, Lithia, Fla. The family will receive friends 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m., Monday at the Funeral Home.

HALL, William A. III, 61, of Valrico, passed away Friday, March 29, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Jayne; a son, William Glenn Hall of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Caroline D. Hall of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Wesley H. Knowles of Albany, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brandon Robert , Michael Alexandra and Christopher Riley Jones. A native of Blakely, Ga., he lived in the area for the last 14 years coming from Monterey, Calif. He was a Colonel in the US Army, serving 30 years and retiring as an Army aviator, who served in Vietnam and awarded numerous citations. He was a senior analyst for BRTRC and a Methodist. Graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell Fla., 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2002. The family will receive friends at Stowers Brandon Chapel, Monday (today) from 6 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, Fla. 33612.

HECKERT, John H., age 81, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2002 at home. He was the beloved husband to Marg Heckert; the loving father to John E. Heckert, Kathyrn H. Heckert and Jane H. Theiling; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He graduated with honors from high school and graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Vincent's College in Latrobe, Pa. He worked for Exxon in Colombia, South America, Madrid, Spain and Beirut, Lebanon and retired from CF Industries. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Lake Magdalene Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LifePath Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Dufrene of Tampa; her sons, Daniel James Dufrene of Land O'Lakes and Matthew Noel Castello of Tampa; her brothers, Dan Switzer Preddy of La Place, La., and Rex McClenny Preddy of San Diego, Calif.; her sisters, Robby Virginia Preddy of Atlanta, Ga., and Lera Esther Preddy-Cope of Oak Harbor, Ohio; her grandchildren, Jacob Isaiah Jones and Brandon Rex Dufrene; and her mother, Patsy Ruth Preddy of Luling, La.. Debora was born in Arkansas before moving to Tampa from Charleston, S.C. in 1999, she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with interment to follow at Garden of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

RICHARDS, James W., 48, of Tampa, passed away Friday, March 29, 2002. A south Tampa native and graduate of H.B. Plant High School. Jim is survived by his mother, Gerry Richards; brother, Steve Richards and his wife Orie Byars; stepdaughter, Delavane Diaz; sisters, Patricia Lane and Susan Savelli and husband Brad Savelli; nephews, Jonathan, Nick and Alex Savelli; also his beloved companion, Sherry Campbell. Jim was a tug boat captain and an avid fisherman. He loved the sea and all of natures wonders that it brought. His friends describe him as as free spirited, and brought joy and laughter to those he touched. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, April 2, 2002 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made in Jim's memory to LifePath Hospice, Inc. 3010 W. He is survived by his wife, Jo Carol; two sons, Daniel Ray Sanborn of Georgia and Charles William Sanborn of Tampa, Fla; a brother, Robert Ray Sanborn of Ohio; a sister, Mary Margaret Lusk of Ohio; five granddaughters, Jacquelyn, Diana, Eva, Pamela and Samantha. A native of Goose Run Hollow, Ohio he lived in the area since 1970 coming from North Carolina. He was a Navy veteran. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2002, 11 a.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Fla.

SOUTO, Maria H., age 92 of Tampa, passed away March 30, 2002. A native of Galacia, Spain and resident of Tampa for the past 20 years, Mrs. Souto is survived by her daughter, Amparo S. Romero and husband, Rene; son, Elias J. Souto and wife, Caridad; grandchildren, Lourdes, Rene, Jorge Luis, Enrique and Ricardo; great-grandchildren, Adrian, Lauren, Audrey, Alejandro, Veronica, Aliana, Daniel, and Jennifer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 4 to 11 p.m., with the recitation of the Catholic Wake Rite to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the chapel of GONZALEZ FUNERAL HOME

WATSON, George R. II, 55, of Riverview, Florida died Friday, March 29, 2002 at the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was a resident of Riverview, Fla., and was a former resident of Palm City, Fla. Prior to retirement, he had been a church pastor with the Penn-Florida District of the Assembly of God. He was the former pastor of the Palm City First Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Kala Watson of Riverview; three sons, George R. Watson III and his wife, Danielle of Port St. Lucie, Gene R. Watson and his wife Gina of Liberty, S.C., and Danny Watson of Riverview; a daughter, Kay LaBarbera and her husband, Sam of Riverview; his parents, George R. Watson, Sr., and Christine Watson of Gibsonton, Fla., two sisters, Gail Holmes of Riverview and Mildred Watson of Gibsonton; and eight grandchildren. There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday, 10 a.m., April 3, 2002 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God, Riverview, with Reverends, Robert Sparkman and Hector Collazo, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger L. Byrd Port St. Lucie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
