LAWHON, Paul D., 69, of Tampa, died September 25, 2002 in Tampa. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War Era. He was a self employed plumber at Paul Lawhon Plumbing since 1959. He was a member of the VFW and the Moose. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Carolyn Lawhon of Tampa; son, DeWayne Lawhon of Plant City; step-son, Chad Nuce of Macon, Ga.; two daughters, Sandra Rice of Brunswick, Ga. and Linda Carl of Jacksonville, Fla.; step-daughter, Rhonda Agnes of Tampa; brother, George Lawhon of Polk City; sister, Ruby Miller of Opelika, Alabama; and grandchildren, Trey, Shayne, Cassandra, Nicholas, Alesha, Dominick, Dylan and Ryan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2002 at 12:00 Noon at Haught Funeral Home Chapel, Plant City. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

McVAY, Terry Lee, 45, of Tampa, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002 at home. He is survived by his wife, Julia; daughter, Juliana; son, Patrick of Tampa; mother, Nancy Neil; and father, Carl McVay of Tennessee. Formerly an Attorney in Memphis, Tenn., he was currently employed by Associates Home Loan of Florida, Inc. as a Mortgage specialist. NUNN,Marvelene A., age 81, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2002. She retired from Maas Brothers after 27 years of service. Survivors includes a daughter, Virgina L. Forbes and husband, Mel; sister, Mary Alice Gonzalez; brother, Robert J. Augustus; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Chapel services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

PARKS, Hillard, Jr., 48, of Auburn, N.Y. died Sept. 14, 2002. Survived by mother; seven children; and two step-children. Funeral will be Saturday, 2 p.m. at Greater Friendship M.B. Church.

PEREZ, Katherine E. Betancourt, born Aug. 2, 1940, passed away Sept. 17, 2002 in Tampa. She is survived by two sons, Robert A. Phillips and Burke Phillips; one daughter, Selena Perez; two sisters, Alex Borjia and Candi Munez; three brothers, Steven Betancourt, Orlando Valdez and Robert Valdez; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

REEGO, Mary B., 79, of Myakka City, died Sept. 24, 2002. Survived by her family, a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Palma Ceia United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.

REEVES, Rose H., age 85, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2002. Survivors include sons, Francis S. Reeves Jr. and Michael G.Reeves; grandchildren, Sarah E. Reeves, Julia R. Shoemaker, and Shellie R. Reeves; and great-grandson, Kaleb L. Shoemaker. She was a lifetime resident of Tampa. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a member of T.O.P.S. Chapter 451 Tampa. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 at the Garden of Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Church services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Officiating the service will be Father Augustine Ndeukoya. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to North Tampa Life Enrichment Center for senior citizens in her memory, 9704 N. A native of Wilmington, Delaware and resident of Tampa since 1992, Glenda is survived by her beloved mother, Mercedes Algarin and husband Aristides; brothers, Jose Luis, Miguel Angel. Jorge, Ricardo, Alejandro and Alberto Roman; sisters, Wanda and Mercedes; and maternal grandparents, America and Jose Nadal.

SNEDEKER, David Jeremy, 15, of Seffner, Fla. passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002. He is survived by his parents, Stephen and Julie of Seffner; brother, Tyson and sister, Paige both of Seffner; maternal grandparents, David and Norma Kemp of Nassau, Bahamas; paternal grandparents, Faran `Bud` and Mikel Snedeker of Tampa, Fla.; three aunts, Colleen Kemp, Ann Marie Kemp and Becky Smith; one uncle, Mark Snedeker. He was born in Lakeland, Fla. David was a student at Mann Middle School. Services will be held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, 4 p.m. the family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. STATON, Ann Eck, 72, passed away September 11, 2002 in Tampa, Fla. A native of Richmond, Va., and a resident of Tampa since 1997, she retired from the State of Virginia in 1990. She is survived by her loving children; her daughter, Bonnie E. Lovell of Tampa, Fla.; her son, Thomas M. Eck, Jr. of Flowery Branch, Ga.; and her grandchildren, Catherine Ann Hastings of Atlanta, Ga., D. Carter Hastings, Jr. of Tampa, Fla. and Duncan L. Eck and Thomas M. Eck, III of Flowery Branch, Ga. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 30, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va.

SWIETLICKI, Edward F., 81, of Sun City Center, Fla., died Sept. 25, 2002. He was born in Hartford, Conn., and resided in Farmington, Conn., until 1991 when he moved to Sun City Center. He retired after 42 years of service at the A.C. Hine Pontiac Dealership in Hartford, Conn. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army 41st Infantry Division during World War II. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joseph. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jeannette; two children, John (Nancy) Switt and Jane (Brian) Bannon both of Riverview, Fla.; a brother, Charles of Windsor, Conn.; and five grandchildren, Kyle, Erin and Colleen Switt and Audrey and Sean Bannon. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2002, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Sun City Center, Fla. Burial Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Fla. TSCHAN, John, 84, passed away Sept. 25, 2002 at the Baldomero Lopez State VA Nursing Home. He is survived by his wife, Irene; children; grandchildren; great-grand-children; and three sisters. Internment will be in the Columbarium at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

VENOY, Hurley `Goody`, 67, of Plant City, Fla., passed away Monday, September 23, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan; daughter, Georgi; son, Mike; grandchildren, Jerry Thornton Lauren, Christopher and Michelle Venoy; sisters, Geneve, Anablanche and Linda; brothers, Junior and Mike. He was born in Acersville, W.Va. on July 19, 1934 and resided in Florida since the 1960's.

WINTER, Harriette, 81, of Sun City Center, passed away on September 25, 2002. Mrs. Winter lived most of her life in the Bronx, N.Y. where she was a legal secretary. She is survived by her beloved husband Charles; daughters, Marsha and Jackie; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorial services at Beth Israel will be held at a future date.

BRANTLEY, Ralph Otway, 54, died Sept. 24, 2002 in Tampa. A decorated Army veteran of two tours of duty in Vietnam, he was a truck driver for Metropolitan Ministries for several years. He was the son of the late, Cecil O. Brantley and is survived by his mother, Catherine Davis and daughter, Katie Brantley who will always be his one and only `baby girl`. Other survivors include sisters, Cindy Scharver, Sharon Tapley, Kathy Purvis, and Charlene Tanner; nephew, Steve Cross; great-niece, Amanda Cross of whom he greatly cherished; and his best friends, Angie Desimone and Robert Hill. He will also be missed by many more family and friends, as Ralph was a person few people forgot once they met. God Bless you and may you rest in peace. COMER, Florence Grace, 92, of Tampa, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2002. Survivors include her sons, Clarence Edward, James A., and Thomas M. Comer; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence E. and a daughter, Rita Celine Comer Wilson. Mrs. Comer was a telephone operator and belonged to the PBX Club on the state, national and international levels, a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 139, Circle 8 of Christ the King Catholic Church, Catholic Women's Club at MacDill AFB, the American Red Cross, and was a nursing home volunteer. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2002 at 6 p.m. at the Mark III Funeral Home South Tampa Chapel. Interment will follow at a later date.

De La PARTE, Angel, Jr., age 77, of Tampa passed away Thursday, September 26, 2002 to be with his beloved wife, Mary in Heaven. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was founder of A & A Electric Company in Tampa. Angel was a World War II Navy Veteran. He is survived by his son, Andy De La Parte and his wife, Naida; daughter, Marilyn and husband, Bruce Talcott; brother, Gene and wife, Marion; sister-in-law, Sara and husband, Joe Yglesias; grandchildren, Tommy, Angeline, Regina and Angel; with a host of several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 30, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 15520 North Blvd. with Entombment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pall Bearers include Andy, Gene, Eddie De La Parte, Bruce and Tommy Talcott, Joe Yglesias with Honorary Pall Bearer Joey Yglesias. Family will receive friends Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. with Recitation of the Catholic Wake Rite Service at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. FRANZONE, Mary, age 92, of Tampa, passed away September 24, 2002. A native of Tampa, Mrs. Franzone lived in Chicago, Ill. for 40 years and returned to Tampa in 1980 after her husband, James Franzone passed away. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nora Ferrera and Frances Filippello; and brothers, Tom and Peter Midulla. Survivors include her sister, Elsie Suarez; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 12 noon at Gonzalez Funeral Home, with entombment to follow in L'Unione Italiana Mausoleum. Pallbearers include, Anthony Governale, Anthony Prieto, Paul Lamb, Chris Midulla, Donald Bryant and Mark Clements. Honorary Pallbearers include, Joe Midulla, Frank Midulla, Jack Lamb, Louis Filippello, Pat Hailey, Richard Midulla and Tony Prieto. GAVZY, Alice Levine, 86, of Temple Terrace passed away on Friday, September 27, 2002. Born in Rochester, New York, she moved here from Fair Lawn, New Jersey in 1993. She retired as a secretary for Diamond Shamrock Chemical Co. in Carlstadt, New Jersey. She was a member of Brandeis Women. Survivors include her two daughters: Nina Wolfson and Maris Rabolini; two sons: Stuart and David Gavzy; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the USF Suncoast Gerontology Center, Tampa.
