SILVIA, Manuel D., 90, of Hudson, Fla., passed away on October 4, 2002 at his residence. Born in New Bedford, Mass., he moved to Florida in 1975 from New York, N.Y. He was a retired salesman for Sterns in Flushing, N.Y. after 22 years of service. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hudson. He is survived by his wife, Celia; two sons, Charles of Durham, N.C. and Ron of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Gloria Silvia of New York, N.Y.; a sister, Olivia Rodriguez of Brooksville, Fla.; and one grandchild.

SORENSEN, Margaret , 86, of Port Richey, died Sunday, October 6, 2002 at the Hospice Care Center, New Port Richey, Florida. She was Born in New York, New York. She moved here in 1975 from New York, New York. She was a Clerical Worker for the U.S. Government, New York City, New York. She was a Presbyterian. There are no known survivors. Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2002 from 2-4 p.m. only at the Bell Funeral Home, 7532 State Road 52, Hudson, Florida. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.

STOCKBRIDGE, Wally A., Jr., 75, of New Port Richey, Florida, died Sunday, October 6, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center, New Port Richey, Florida. He was born in Wellesley, Massachusetts and moved to New Port Richey from Millis, Mass. in 1992. He owned a transportation and leasing company, was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of Medfield Baptist Church, Medfield, Mass., and Millis Congregational Church, Millis, Mass., and a member of VFW, Medfield, Mass. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Alberta L. Stockbridge of New Port Richey; three sons, Gary Stockbridge of Franklin, Mass., Wallace A. Stockbridge III of Millis, Mass., and John Stockbridge of Ashburnham, Mass.; one daughter, Gail Viera of Franklin, Mass.; one brother, Robert Stockbridge of Meshotten, Pa.; two sisters, Jean Mathews of Wellesley, Mass., and Ruth Tolal of Millis, Mass.; and eight grandchildren.

ASKEW, Donnie D., 94, of Plant City passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Fletcher of Plant City; sons, Thomas and Edward Askew, both of Texas ; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel 4207 E Lake Ave. Interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to LifePath Hospice.

BANCROFT, Nicholas, 89, of Daytona Beach Shores, passed away Oct. 7, 2002. He is survived by his loving family. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Oct. 11, 2002 at Wells Memorial Chapel.

BLANTON, Franklin `Lamar`, 60, of Lakeland, died Oct. 6, 2002. SUrvived by son Jason; daughter, Wesley Ayn Blanton-Hamilton; three brothers; one sister; and three grandchildren.

CARR, Louis Jr., 71, of Tampa, died October 4, 2002. A native of South Carolina, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a noted barber in the community. Rev. Carr served as a pastor of St. Paul M.B. Church, Bradenton, and as President of the Florida Theological Seminary and Cultural Institute, Lakeland. He was a member of St. Mary M.B. Church. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine; daughters, Juanita C. Robinson and Mary E. Bailey (Rudolph); son, Louis III; four stepsons; three stepdaughters; godmother, Justine Smalls; and a host of grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at New Friendship M.B. Church with visitation from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Ray Williams Funeral Homes 253-3419.

CARVER, Sandra Jean `Sonie`, 52, of Lakeland passed away on Monday, October 7, 2002. She received her Crimical Justice degree from H.C.C. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard `Dick` Lewis; and is survived by her husband, Freddie A. Carver; mother, Fran Lewis; sisters, Sherry Coniglio, Marla Collum, Linda Richards, Pamela Toner, Kathy Leighly, Kim Heckelsmiller, Terry Doty, and Jerry Rozier; daughters, Jeanne Pace and husband Keoke, and Patsy Dery and husband Johnny; son, Chad Carver; grandchildren, Chase Andrew Dery and Damian Alexander Pace. Funeral service will be held on Friday October 11, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel 4207 E. Lake Avenue. Entombment will follow in Garden of Memories Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel.

COLON, Luz Minerva, age 45 of, Tampa , passed away October 6, 2002. A native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico and resident of Tampa for the past eight years, Mrs. Colon is survived by her husband, Tomas Colon; sons, Jose Miguel and Luis Daniel Colon; daughters, Jesenia, Elizabeth, Liz Maria and Dazlynn Colon; sisters, Hilda Robles and Awilda Perez; and nine grandchildren.

DeCELLE, Rita F., formerly of Troy, N.Y. and Spring Hill, died on Oct. 2, 2002. Rita was married to the late William H. DeCelle Sr., and they had six children; son, William of Tampa; daughter, Mary Stewart; daughter, Elizabeth Walsh of Milford, Conn.; son, John of Huntington, Conn.; son, Joseph of Naugatuck, Conn.; daughter, Ann of Brooksville; one niece, Bernadette of Spring Hill; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one great-niece; and one great-great-nephew, who live in Florida, North Carolina and Connecticut. Services were held out of state.

DENNEY, O.B. Jr., 78, of Ruskin, passed away Oct. 6, 2002. He was born in Lakeland and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Denney worked for Cargill for forty-two years. He was a US Army Sergeant during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ruskin. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Michael and Richard; a daughter, Laurie McClellan; a brother, Richard; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, from the Chapel of Lewers Funeral Home with interment to follow in Fellowship Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m.

FESKO, Winifred May, age 96 of, Lutz, passed away October 5, 2002. native of Savannah, New York and resident of Tampa for the past 14 years, Mrs. Fesko moved to Florida from Liverpool, New York where she lived for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fesko; and is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Legnetto; stepdaughters, Lois Flack and Beverly Symonds; stepsons, Robert, Donald and James Fesko; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, at Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St., Liverpool, N.Y.

HOLLEY, Carol `Chris` Levann, Maj. (Ret.), 76, of Clearwater passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002. He was born Dec. 25, 1925 in Bartow, Fla. He served his country for 25 years and was involved in World War II, and he Korean and Viet Nam Conflicts. He was active in the Inter-Bay of Rotary Club, past Pres. of the Tampa Sports Club, was president of the FSU Student Senate, Class of '48, and an avid FSU fan. He was a member of Pasadena Presbyterian Church for over 10 years. He is survived by his son, Chris; daughters, Shary and Marti; and grandchildren, Kevin, Kyle, Ryan, Christopher, Jessica, Jamie, Roger, Carly, and Michael; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Pasadena Presbyterian Church, in St. Petersburg on Friday, October 11, 2002. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the ceremony. Flowers are accepted & donations may be made to The Pasadena Presbyterian Church or The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.

LEE, James L., Jr., age 65, died October 7, 2002 in Boca Raton, Fla. Born in Tampa, Jimmy Jr. was the son of James L. Lee of Faison, N.C. and Juanita Hore of Jacksonville, Fla. He is survived by his wife Carolanne Lee of Pompano Beach; two sons, Jeffrey Lee of Ocean Ridge and Benjamin Lee of Tampa; two daughters, Kathy Alm of Tampa and Carolyn Lee of Jupiter; his sisters, Caroline Dea and Nancy Bunn both of Tampa; and his four grandchildren. Jimmy was an attorney who practiced law in Tampa in the 1960's and 1970's. His father was co-founder of the Lee & Pomeroy Oil Company and Chairman of the Florida State Horseracing Commission. Jimmy attended the Admiral Farragut military Academy, H.B. Plant High School, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and University of Florida, where he received his law degree. While in Tampa, he was a member of Tampa Yacht Club, Merrymaker's Club and Palma Ceia Country Club. Jimmy loved to play bridge and collect antique guns. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 11 at 11:15 a.m. at the All Faith Funeral Home, 1444 S. Federal Hwy. in Deerfield Beach, Fla. (954-426-1044).

LILIENFELD, Joseph J., LCDR (Ret), 80, of Land O' Lakes, passed away October 5, 2002 in Spring Hill. Born in Maplewood, Massachusetts, he was a graduate of Port Saint Joe High School in 1940. He moved to Tampa in 1952. LCDR Lilienfeld was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Lilienfeld and mother, Sarah Mulvey. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia; son, James and wife, Bell of Indialantic; daughter, Carmela Gottfried and husband, John of Tampa; grandchildren, Paul and Gabrielle Lilienfeld of Indialantic and Joseph and Amber Gottfried of Tampa; many loving friends; and his beloved dog, Daisy. LCDR Lilienfeld served in the Navy for 26 years. He was the Lieutenant Commander of the USS Recovery and the USS Escape. He was the Engineering Officer on the USS Saratoga CVA-60. He received the distinguished honor, Command in Sea button. His long and illustrious military career also included being a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. LCDR Lilienfeld was a lifetime member of the Submarine Veterans of World War II. He served on the USS Sailfish SS-192, USS Skate SS-305 and the USS Argonaul SS-475. He was a lifetime member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Acc epted Masons of Florida and of the Tin Lizzie of Egypt Temple. He was also a member of the Egypt Temple. In lieu of flowers contributions to Shriners Children Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607. Funeral services will be held Friday 2 p.m. at Blount Curry & Roel MacDill Chapel. Interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9:00 p.m.

MACNICHOL, Marilee Brandon, 87, of Riverview passed away on Monday, October 7, 2002. Marilee moved to Washington , D.C. at the age of 24 and worked as a secretary for Senator Claude Pepper and Congressman James A. Haley. She returned home to Riverview 52 years later. She hosted many parties for visiting diplomats and was very successful in real estates investments. She is preceded in death by sisters, Grace, Thelma and Avis Brandon; brothers, Raymond, Wells, Charles and Kenneth Brandon. She is survived by brother, John W. Brandon; sister-in-law, Rose Brandon both of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; many loving and caring nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at 8 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held on Friday, October 11, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Brandon Family Cemetery, Pinewood Ave. N. and Brandon Blvd. Those who wish may make donations to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St., Tampa, FL 33609.

MINIATI, Leonora Giusti, age 96 of, Tampa passed away October, 7. 2002. She was the widow of Peter J. Miniati, Sr. and was born in Pawtucket, R.I. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Giusti, and resided in Pawtucket, R.I. until 1977 when she became a partial year resident of Narraganse, R.I. and Clearwater, Fla. She moved to Tampa in 1996. Mrs. Miniati was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Willard, Stephen, Violet and Vera. Survivors include her sons, Peter J. Miniati, Jr. and wife Rosemary of Barrington, R.I., and Laurence R. Miniati and wife Geri of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, MaryJean Kreuger, Peter J. Miniati, III and Janet Miniati all of Rhode Island, John T. Miniati of Chicago, Ill., Jay C. Miniati of Tampa, Michael A. Miniati and Douglas N. Miniati of Menlo Park, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Michael, Maggie, Jack, Daniel, Kevin and Alex. She worked for Blackstone Valley Gas and Electric Company for many years and retired from Atlantic Richfield Company. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday morning at St. Joseph Church at 10 a.m. in Pawtucket, R.I. with the Manning-Heffern F.H., 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, R.I. in charge of arrangements.
