Erma Jane Brincefield, 46, of Marianna, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Fresno, Calif. Arrangements will be announced by James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel of Marianna.

Tony Allen Tharp, 42, of Bayou George and formerly of Jackson County died Sunday, March 25, 2001. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2001 from 6-8 p.m. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. The family has asked that every come dressed in casual attire. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital at P.O. Box 31356 in Tampa, FL 33631.

Joseph Benjamin Stephens, 93, of Marianna died Saturday, March 24, 2001 in Jackson Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28 at James & James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Braxton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 27 at the funeral home.

Flossie M. Watts, 90, of Grand Ridge, died Saturday, March 24, 2001 in Marianna. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 26 at Christian Covenant Church in Grand Ridge with Rev. Don Brokaw officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 25 at the funeral home.

Marlin LaVerne Harrell, 72, of Grand Ridge died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Welcome Assembly of God Church with Rev. Charles Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Cowpen Pond Cemetery with Lord Funeral Home of Marianna directing. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Emerald Coast, 4374 Lafayette St., Marianna, FL 32446, or the American Cancer Society, 4530 Lafayette St., Marianna, FL 32446.

James C. Ryals, 95, of Marianna died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001 at his residence. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. CDT at Dellwood Methodist Cemetery with Dr. Frank Hyles officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Sneads American Legion Post 241 with James and James Funeral Home-Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. at the old Dr. Ryals Home in Delwood. Flowers will be accepted or those wishing to may make memorial contributions to a favorite charity.

Leslie Daniels Davis, 29, of Marianna died Aug. 8, 2001. She was a native of Grand Ridge, a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and a graduate of Grand Ridge High School, Class of 1990. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. at the Grand Ridge High School with Rev. Dwight Cockerham and other ministers officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Grand Ridge, with Vann Funeral Home directing. The body will lie at the Grand Ridge Gymnasium from 3 p.m. until time for the funeral.

Mary A. Lee formerly of Ashford, Conn. died on Aug. 12, 2001 at the home of her daughter in Marianna. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. James and James Funeral Home-Maddox Chapel of Marianna is in charge of arrangements.

Tom Dudley, 57, of Grand Ridge died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001 at his residence. Services will be held today, Sunday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastors Willie Butler and Jim Gosnell officiating. Burial will be in the Carpenter Cemetery. The family received friends last evening, Saturday, Aug. 11 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted of memorials may be made to the Providence Church Building Fund.

Mary J. Hayes, 91, of Malone died Aug. 9, 2001 in the Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Second West Missionary Baptist Association Church, Herring St. in Marianna with Revs. H. Teauge, J.H. Bowers, C. Holden, G. Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Second Macdonia Cemetery in Malone with Vann Funeral Home directing. The body will lie at the church from noon Tuesday until time for the funeral.

Fletcher Trammer Bush, 82, of Marianna died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001 in Marianna. Graveside services will be held Monday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m. in the Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Bill Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends tonight, Sunday, Aug. 12 from 3 until 5 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted of memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Margaret Lorene Gilbert Spears, 92, died on Aug. 9, 2001 at the Nursing Pavilion in Marianna. Services will be held Monday evening, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Viola Shores Cogburn, 82, of Tallahassee, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, in Tallahassee.
A native of Jackson County, she lived in Tallahassee since 1946. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was formerly a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a member of Bible Believers Fellowship in Tallahassee.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen Carr of Havana; son, Johnny Shores of Havana; brother, Floyd Seay of Tallahassee; sisters, Eloise White and Elma Kent, both of Alford, and Thelma Branning of Panama City; grandchildren, Angela Jo Herzfeldt of Havana, David Youngman of Woodville, Jacob Daniel Shores of Nichols, Ga., Melissa Morrison of Tallahassee and Jereme Maples of Crawfordville; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 8, at Salem Freewill Baptist Church in Alford. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today, Aug. 7, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jessie "J.P." Toole, 71, of Sneads, Fla., died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 7, 2005, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born in Early County, Ga., Aug. 4, 1934, and has lived in Jackson County since 1977. He retired from McDaniels IGA as a meat cutter. He was a member of the Grand Ridge Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lint and Sarah Toole; and brother, Carlton Toole.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Nettie Hatcher Toole of Sneads; sons, Jessie Phillip Toole and wife Susan of Chattahoochee and James Martin and wife Janet, also of Chattahoochee; daughters, Cynthia Branch and husband Wayne of Grand Ridge and Sheila A. Hosey and husband Buddy of Quincy; sister, Edna Nix of Leesburg, Ga.; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 3 p.m., at the Grand Ridge Baptist Church, with the Revs. Chester Padgett and James Hatcher officiating.
The family will receive friends today, Aug. 9, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., at Lord Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Covenant Hospice. Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Millard Hugh "Bill" Breyfogle, 83, of La Grange, Ga., died peacefully Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, in La Grange.
A native of Chicago, Ill., he was an Episcopal priest, ordained in 1959. He served in Morristown, Tenn., Blakely, Ga., and in small country churches throughout Florida. He was a member of the Order of St. Luke, the Evangelical Education Society and the Rural Workers Fellowship. He was retired and had been a resident in La Grange since 2002.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Walts.
Survivors include his sons, John Breyfogle of Guntersville, Ala., and Sam Breyfogle of La Grange; daughter, Barbara Breyfogle of Austin, Texas ; grandchildren, Sara and Scott Breyfogle of La Grange; and sister, Pat McBrayer of Beaufort, S.C.
A memorial service will be held today, Thursday, Aug. 11, at 1 p.m., at St.Luke's Episcopal Church, on Lafayette Street, in Marianna. His remains will be interred in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Church of La Grange, or St. Luke's Church of Marianna.

Pauline Wells, 94, of Slocomb passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala.
Affectionately known as "Ms.Pauline", she was born in Holmes County May 28, 1911, to the late Charles S. and Alice Saunders Partin. She was the last surviving class member of the Graceville High School Class of 1929. She received her nurses training at Frazier Ellis Hospital in Dothan. She was a nurse at Richardson Hospital in Graceville for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for over 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray T. Watford and L.T. Wells.
Survivors include her son, Bobby Wells and wife Hattie of SLocomb; daughter Jean Snipes of Greenville, S.C.; niece, Joyce Weathington of Marianna; grandchildren, Jerry M. "Butch" Snipes, Lori Snipes, Lynn Snipes, Shay Wells and David Wells; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., today, Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Chapel of James and Lipford Funeral Home, with the Revs. Addis Habbard and Larry Newton officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery, with James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. Flowers will be accepted; or those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Beverly Tindell, 405 Christopher Drive, Dothan, Ala., 36301.

Ruby Lee Bryant, 83, of Crawfordville, Fla., died Thursday , Aug. 11, 2005.
She was born in Jackson County and had resided in Crawfordville for 60 years. She was a homemaker.
She was a charter member of the Faith Holiness House of Prayer Pentecostal Holiness Church and was its oldest living member and was the Church Mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bryant, and a son-in-law, William J. Dudley.
She is survived by: three sons, Thomas Jefferson Bryant Sr. and wife Mary of Tallahassee, Fla., Raymond David Bryant and wife Yvonne of Sopchoppy, Fla., and Paul J. Bryant and wife Linda of Havana, Fla.; three daughters, Ruby Werkheiser and husband Morris of Interlachen, Fla., Charlotte Ann Croley of Woodville, Fla., and Christiene B. Dudley of Crawfordville; three brothers, Albert Franklin of Marianna, Leon Franklin of Pensacola and Emery Franklin of Greenwood; a sister, Mary Granger of Grand Ridge; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held today, Sunday, Aug. 14, at the Faith Holiness House of Prayer in Wakulla County. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery with Beggs Funeral Home Apalachee Chapel in Tallahassee directing.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Faith Holiness House of Prayer.
Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, Fla. 32308.
