SLEDD, Antonio James, 20 of Tampa died on October 8, 2002 in Kuwait. He is survived by his parents, Thomas D. Sledd and Norma Figueroa; a brother, Michael Sledd; and a grandfather, Antonio Figueroa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St Petersburg.

STRICKLAND, Marie Abigail, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 12, 2002 surrounded by her family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, R.B. Strickland; and her oldest son, J.B. Strickland. She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Hall of Lakeland and Kathryn Smith of Panama City; and by a son, Guy H. Strickland, wife Jerry Strickland of Wimauma; a daughter, Margaret Kay Brown, husband Louie Brown of Portland, Oregon; and daughters-in-law, Sylvia Perkins of Jacksonville and Jeraldine Strickland of Alma, Georgia. `Gram` had ten grandchildren, Bruce Strickland, Beth Brownley, Rhonda Thomson, husband, Tim, Sherry Clark, husband Joe, Sandra Strickland, Kelley Strickland, Mike Brown, wife Julianne, Brian Brown, Kevin Brown, Kathy Williams, husband J.R.; great-grandchildren, David Clark, Ashlie Brownley, Phillip Clark, Sarah Clark, Tyler Thomson, Daniel Clark, Dustin Strickland, Michael Brown, Lenae Brown, Billy Brown, Amanda Brown, Kevin Brown, Shawn Brown, Joshua Williams, Kelsea Williams; great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Brown and Colin Brown; and two special Angels Joey Walker and Nola Wilkins. Gram was born in Macon, Georgia on December 29, 1906 but li ved in Florida the rest of her life. She completed university work at Florida State College for Women and Florida Southern University and received her Masters degree from the University of Florida. Her greatest joy on earth was teaching. She taught school for 44 years beginning in Polk County on July 4, 1924 at a `Strawberry School`. Moving from Polk County she taught at Dinsmore and Grand Park Schools in Jacksonville and Temple Terrace Elementary School in Temple Terrace finally retiring from Yates Elementary School in Brandon in 1968. However, she continued to serve as a substitute teacher for nine more years. She was a long time member of Temple Terrace United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Lydia Circle of the United Methodist Women. During the last years of her life, she attended Simmons Loop Baptist Church with her family. Throughout her life she contributed to many charities and to the support of others. Thanks to Sun City Hospice for their love and care. Visitation services will be held at Garden of Memories at 4207 East Lake Avenue in Tampa on Monday, October 14, 2002 from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Simmons Loop Baptist Church at 6610 Simmons Loop Road in Riverview on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with final interment at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.

WIDSTEEN, Elizabeth `Tinka`, 63 of New Port Richey, died October 11, 2002 at North Bay Hospital. Tinka was raised in Topeka, Kansas, then moved to Tampa where she lived and worked in many creative and giving endeavors until retiring to New Port Richey. She was a very loving and caring person who knew no strangers. She is survived by her companion of 25 years, Susan K. Heise; sister Francey Oliva; brother-in-law, A ngel Oliva; two stepsisters, Nancy Combest of Kansas, Eileen Porborsky of Colorado; and a stepbrother, James Corn of California. WOOD, Andy Nathaniel, 62, of Orlando formerly of Plant City passed away October 12, 2002. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Andrea Wood McKee. Mr. Wood is survived by his wife, Lennett; one son, Floyd Wood and wife Diana; one daughter, Pamala Wood; one brother, John Wood; one sister, Betty Brown; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was a police officer in his native state of Georgia serving with Hall County and Lumpkin County Georgia law enforcement agencies. He was then employed with CSX Railroad as a railroad clerk until his retirement. Mr. Wood was a veteran serving in Vietnam and a member of Kingsway Church of God. Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 13, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. from Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ashley Chancey officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening (tonight) 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

WORSHAM, Paulette, 59, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Worsham of Plant City; one son, Jerry Worsham, Jr., Dallas, Texas ; four daughters, Lori Anne Kent, Plant City, Christina Jean Lamkin, Ohio, Carrie Lynn Worsham, Hawaii, Julie E. Worsham, California; two sisters, Brenda Schroder, Fresno, Calif., Jane Trent, California; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild. She was a resident of Plant City since the 60's coming from Los Angeles, Calif. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, 10 a.m., at Stowers Brandon Chapel. CONGROVE, Betty Ann, 82, of Port Richey, died Sunday, October 13, 2002 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson, Florida. Born in Nevada, Iowa, she moved to Florida in 1983 from Whitehall, Ohio. She was retired from the Lazarus Dept. Store, Columbus, Ohio. she was of the Methodist faith and was also a former member of the Good Sams Camping Club. Survived by a son, Charles H. Levy IV of Newark, Ohio; two daughters, Carol Wilkes of Gahanna, Ohio and Marilyn Figlestahler of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2002 from 11-12 a.m. with service to follow at 12 noon at Bell Funeral Home, Hudson, Florida. Burial will be at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens, New Port Richey, Florida.

ERICKSON, Beatrice W., age 96, of New Port Richey and formerly of Holiday, passed away October 11, 2002 at Whispering Pines Nursing Center in New Port Richey. Born September 8, 1906, she came here over 20 years ago from her native West Virginia. She was a member of Holiday United Methodist Church and a retired bank teller. Survivors include several nieces.

SCHRICK, Dorothy M., 91, of Holiday, died Sunday, October 13, 2002 at Integrated Health Services of Tarpon Springs. She was born in Joliet, Ill. and moved to Holiday from Joliet, Ill. in 1969. She was a bookkeeper for Liebermann's Jewelers of Joliet, Ill and a Catholic. Survivors include two nephews, Larry Shaw and Lee Shaw of Joliet, Ill.; one niece, Janet R. Beck of Richland Center, Wis.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

STRACCIA, Jean, 74, of New Port Richey, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey. Born in New York City, N.Y., she came her eight years ago from Queens, N.Y. She was a retired dressmaker employed in the New York Garment District. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hudson.

WEST, Robert Lee, 52, of Dade City, passed away October 8, 2002. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he moved to the area at a young age. He was an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force and stationed at Carswell AFB, serving in the Strategic Air Command. He is survived by one son, Robert Lee West, Jr. and his wife of Brooksville; one daughter, Bernita Monitique West-Harris of Orlando, Fla.; his parents, Gertrude Roundtree and Robert Williams of Dade City, Fla.; three sisters, Valerie Thompson of Dade City, Ella Lee Hutchins and Betty Lee Chapman and her husband Leroy, all of Rochester, N.Y.; and godsons, Robert Smith and Jeffrey McNair.

ALLEN, Richard Harold, of Valrico, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2002. Richard moved to the area nine years age from Fairburn, Ga. and was Baptist by faith. He was a Deacon at bell Shoals Baptist Church and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and Oakdale Reserve Home Owners Association. He is survived by wife, June Allen of Valrico; son, Richard H. Allen of Valrico; daughter, Sandy Farmer of Valrico; mother, Louise B. Allen of Valrico; five grandchildren; one great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at Bell Shoals Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Bell Shoals Baptist Church Prayer Ministry.

CRONIN, Loraine Carol, age 80, was called home on Friday, October 11, 2002 at University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Survivors include her loving daughter, Lorie L. Loy and her husband, Sam of Tampa, Fla.; and her brother, Byron Lawrence of Otho, Iowa. Loraine was a graduate of Iowa State University where she had majored in Economics. She worked for many years as a Medical Technologist. She was an active member of the Lake Carroll Baptist Church. She loved to play her favorite hymns on the piano for her favorite past-time. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa on Tuesday, October 15 at 11 a.m.

DOUGLASS, Thelma, 83, of Tampa, passed away October 13, 2002. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John D. Douglass; twin sister, Velma Crawford; brother, Walter S. Stokes; nephew, Marc Stokes; and other loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Douglass was born in Jacksonville, Fla. and moved to Tampa in 1965. She was a member of Bay Life Assembly of God Church for 51 years. A Chapel service will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., Oct. 17 at Adams & Jennings Funeral Home with interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to Life Out Reach International, PO Box 982000, Fort Worth, TX 76182 in Mrs. Douglass memory. Pennell of Ashville, N.C. and Mrs. Doris C. Presley of Tampa, Fla.; eight nieces; and three nephews. HAMLET, Annis M., 74, of Riverview, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2002 after a long battle with Parkinsons. Annis moved to Florida from Dundee, Michigan in 1965. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by her daughter, Maryann Blagec; and brothers, Jessy and Jimmy Ansell, Annis is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Hamlet; sons, Robert Howard, Sr., David Howard, Sr. and wife, Sally and Stephen Blagec, Jr.; daughters, Deborah and husband, William Brooks, Sr. and Stephanie and husband, Robert Schmid; sisters, Louise Smith and Mary Graves; brother, Richard Ansell; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. She will be greatly missed. Graveside service will be held Thursday, October 17, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. HARRIS, Annie `Liz`, 83, of Temple Terrace, Fla., died Sunday, October 13, 2002 in Bushnell, Fla.. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven C. and Jessie Harris of Odessa, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline H. and Clay Jones of Bushnell, Fla.; three grandchildren, Cody and Dillon Harris and Erin Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was born in Bradford County, Fla., and has been a resident of Temple Terrace since 1985, formerly of Bushnell. She was a school teacher with the county school system. Services will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla., with Deacon Byron Otradovec officiating.
