BURKE, Thomas Emmett , 87, of Port Richey, Fla., died Friday, November 22, 2002 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson. He was born in Alliston, Ontario, Canada and moved to Port Richey from Detroit, Mich. in 1977. He was a retired carpenter and a Royal Canadian Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hudson. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Josephine N. Burke of Port Richey; son, Dr. Adam Burke of San Francisco, Calif.; daughter, Dr. Gail A. Burke of East Lansing, Mich.; two sisters, Mayme Burke of Alliston, Ontario, Canada and Helen Howard of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and grandson, Patrick Sherman of East Lansing, Mich. A Funeral Mass will be Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

CULLEN, John J., 56, of Port Richey, passed away on November 23, 2002 in Masaryktown, Fla. as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Orange, N.J., he moved to Florida 10 years ago from Riverdale, N.J. He was a retired repair technician for I.B.M. in New Jersey after 20 years and was currently working for Hess in Brooksville, Fla. He was a US Navy veteran of Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Carol; three step-daughters, Kimberley Tornquist of Butler, N.J., Lynette Brown of Vernon, N.J. and Kerry Carlo of Wayne, N.J.; and one granddaughter.

ETHRIDGE, Roy L. Sr., 73, of Holiday, passed away November 25, 2002 at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. He was born July 17, 1929 in McEwen, Tenn. and came here 16 years ago from Evansville, Ind. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a Korean War Air Force Veteran and retired from Whirlpool where he was manager of the model shop. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Roy Jr. of Holiday, three daughters, Cathy Jones of Bayonet Point, Cynthia Bennett of Zionsville, Ind. and Karen Mitchell of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, William and Robert, both of Evansville, Ind.; a sister, Patricia Heid of West Branch, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden Chapel at Morgan Funeral Home.

HERRON, Robert V., 79, of Holiday, Fla. died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital, Tarpon Springs, Fla. He was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania and moved here from California, Pa., in 1992. He retired after 27 years of service as a college professor of English at the University of California at Pennsylvania . He was a U.S. Army Air Corps World War II veteran, a member of First Assembly of God of Tarpon Springs, and life member of VFW Post #47 in Uniontown, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Esther Graffuis- Herron of Holiday. Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, with a service to follow at 11:30 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.

HIRSCH, Jack M., 64, of Port Richey, died Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at North Bay Medical Center in New Port Richey. He was born in Dresden, Germany and moved here from Chicago, Ill. in 1993. He retired as a chemical mixer for powders with the Avon Cosmetics Corporation and was a Lutheran. Survivors include four sisters, Ursula Dassler of Dresden, Germany, Renate Hirsch of Port Richey, Barbara Selk and Christine Kurz of Wetter, Germany; and nephew, Michael Dassler of Dresden, Germany.

IRVINE, Dorothy C., 87, of New Port Richey, passed away on November 25, 2002 at Tandem Healthcare Center in New Port Richey. Born in Fishers Island, N.Y., she moved to Florida 13 years ago from Old Mystic, Conn. She was a retired sales representative for Avon Products and a member of the Covenant Church in Sarasota, Fla. She is survived by one grandson, Mark Irvine, Jr. of Norwich, Conn.; a nephew, James Cutler of New Port Richey; five nieces, Donnalee Cutler of New Port Richey, Dorothy Martin of Tavares, Fla., Marsha Foley and Wanda Wagner, both of California and Leona Kain of Texas .

JOHNSON, Evelyn Rose, 83, of New Port Richey, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey. She was born in Washington , D.C. and moved here from St. Paul, Minn. in 1971. She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Alfred G. Johnson of New Port Richey; four sons, Eugene Johnson of St. Louis Park, Minn., Thomas Johnson of New Hope, Minn., Gerald Johnson Las Vegas, Nev. and James Johnson of New Port Richey; two daughters, Marge Pellegrino of Lakewood, Calif. and Kathy Johnson of Roseville, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was a retired receptionist, a member of the Elfers Senior Center, and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey. She is survived by a sister, Victoria Beattie of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

KUCHTA, Frank J., 87, of New Port Richey, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at Orchard Ridge Rehab & Nursing Center in New Port Richey. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to New Port Richey from Seaford, Del. in 1980. He was a retired grocery store owner, a US Army Veteran of World War II and a member of Faith Baptist Church in New Port Richey. He is survived by his daughter, Michele Rosenberry of Savage, Md. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2002 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a funeral service at 12 noon at Dobies Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 2 p.m.

MATHER, Franklin Duane, 88, of Port Richey, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at North Bay Medical Center. He was born in Redfield, South Dakota, and came here 23 years ago from Sonora, California. He was a draftsman for United Pump Company after serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Olga; his daughter, JoAnn Eaton of Redfield, South Dakota; and three grandsons. Interment to be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, with a memorial service to be held at a future date. NICOLOSI, Lucia `Lucy` , 80, of Port Richey, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at North Bay Medical Center in New Port Richey. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved here from Long Island, N.Y. in 1979. She retired as a seamstress for the Anntone Dress Company in Long Island, New York after 10 years. She was a member of St. James The Apostle Catholic Church and a member of TOPS for over 20 years. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Salvatore `Sam` Nicolosi of Port Richey; two sons, Joseph Nicolosi of Long Island, N.Y. and Giacomo `Jack` Nicolosi of Palmdale, Calif.; daughter, Caterina `Cathy` Koch of New Port Richey; brother, Salvatore Castronovo of Citrus Springs, Fla.; sister, Mary Grosso of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 29 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Dobies Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 8400 Monaarch Drive, Port Richey with Burial at Grace Memorial Gardens, 17007 US 19, Hudson.

PRIDHAM, Stanley M., 70, of Zephyrhills, passed away on November 24, 2002 at his residence. Born in Portsmouth, N.H., he moved to Florida in 1985 from Rochester, N.H. He retired from the US Coast Guard as a Chief Warrent Officer 3 after serving from 1949 to 1974 and then retired as chief of police from New Castle, N.H. after serving from 1975-1980. He was a member of the Masonic lodge; the Sojourners; the WO and CWO Association; and the Portland Cuttermans Association. He is survived by his wife, Glorida; two sons, Jon of Kittery, Maine and Timothy of North Haven, Conn.; two daughters, Christina Nancarow of Northwood, N.H. and Carol Anne Geigley of Rochester, N.H.; two brothers, Douglas of Albuquerque, N.M. and Sherman of Rio Rancho, N.M.; a sister, Beryl Claibourne of Golden, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

THOMAS, Pearl Mary (Nee Patenaude), born November 24, 1927, went home to be with her Lord on November 24, 2002. What a feast God has prepared for her on this her 75th birthday. All heaven will rejoice and celebrate! Loving wife of the late Lyman (Tom) (1999). Treasured mother of Mark and Susan Thomas, LaSalle; Bryan and Monica Thomas, Bragg Creek, Alberta; Terry and June Loebach, Windsor; and Dean and Belinda Thomas, Zephyrhills, Florida. Precious grandma to Kevin, Sarah, Jay, Laura, Robert, Christina, Julie, Owen and Emily Pearl. Dearly loved sister to Mrs. Rhea Samson, Toronto; Girard and Fernande Patenaude, Cornwall; Mrs. Marie-Jeanne Dennis, Edmonton, Alberta; Mrs. Alice Laflamme, Cornwall; Real and Cleita Patenaude, Windsor; Jacqueline and Roger Plamondon, Windsor; and the late Denise, Beatrice, Gilberte (Jill), Gabrielle (Gail) and Conrad. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 1 p.m.Friday November 29, 2002 with visitation one hour prior from Noon to 1 p.m. at Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home, Dade City. Burial will follow at Dade City Cemetery. Memorials maybe made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. In all who knew her, Pearl was indeed an inspiration. She had a zest for living and a deep faith in her Lord. She embraced Psalm 91 as her very own. `Well done, thou good and faithful servant!`

UNITES, Charles W., 86, of Zephyrhills, passed away November 24, 2002 in Dade City. Survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Griffin Unites of Zephyrhills; a son, Robert D. Unitas of Arlington, Va.; a daughter, Kathleen A. Unitas of Zephyrhills; three sisters, Mary Sirus of Stanton, Calif., Lois Richetelle of Bonita Springs and Babe Erickson of Farmington, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Charles W. Unites, Jr. Services will be held 11 a.m. on December 9, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father George Rozycki officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. He was born July 29, 1916 in Suffield, Conn. Mr. Unites was a Veteran of the Army serving in World War II and he was a Restaurateur coming to the Zephyrhills area in 1987 from Manchester, Conn. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.

BRANDON, Raymond E. 81, of Sun City Center, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2002 at LifePath Hospice House. Beloved husband of Audrey Brandon; father of son, Harvey and daughters, Dr. Jennifer Peet and Beverly A. Long; grandfather of 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Raymond was a US Navy veteran of World War II, a former member of the Kings Point Lawn Bowling League, Kings Point Alley Bowlers, the Ballroom Dance Club, Cypress Greens Golf League and former president of the Gloucester Homeowners Association. He was a member and usher of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Raymond lived life to the fullest. He will be sorely missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Don Faling officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.

COTTER, Leo A., 73, of Sun City Center, passed away November 19, 2002. Survivors include his wife, Dawn; children, Leo P. Cotter of Tampa, Sharon Oumedian of Farmington Hills, Mich., Dan J. Cotter of Waukesha, Wis. and Colleen Cotter of Tampa; 13 grandchildren; a brother, David Cotter of Michigan; and sisters, Mary Jordan and Dolores Lamping of Michigan, Eleanor Burnside of Orlando, Fla. and Edith Ann Gabriel of Alaska. Mr. Cotter was born in Detroit, Mich. and had been a Civil and Mechanical Engineer with the Ford Motor Company. Memorial services will be held in Michigan.

DICKINSON, Gladys Floyd, age 94 of Plant City, passed away on November 26, 2002. Mrs. Dickinson was a member of First United Methodist Church and worked in the nursery for many years, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Chapter 81. She is preceded in death by her husband, E.N. Dickinson. Survivors include her daughter, G. Druann Brock of Plant City; two brothers, Allen Merle Floyd and his wife Carolyn of Tampa, and Edward C. Floyd and his wife Mary of Ft. White; two grandson, Jack E. Jacobsen Jr. and Jeffrey N. Jacobsen and his wife Angela; five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, at 10 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. at Wells Memorial Chapel. The graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Ft. White Cemetery.
