Mr. Mangram Chavers, 83, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. in First United Metohodist Church of Panama City. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemtery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Panama City Memorial Fund of Building Fund.

ELIZABETH DAVIS
Elizabeth Davis, age 95, of Sneads, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at her residence. She was born in Calhoun County and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Sneads Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Davis and son Clarence Foster. She is survived by three sons: John Davis of Sneads, William "Billy" Davis and his wife Jean of Sneads and Amos Davis and wife Mae of Peoria, Ill.; two daughters, Cornelia "Lucy" Brahier and her husband Roy of Panama City, Rachel Stanley and her husband Jack of Lynn Haven; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a special daughter-in-law, Marie Foster of Quincy. Funeral services will be held today, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. CST at James and James Funeral Home with the Rev. Mildred Barfield officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Springs Cemetery.

MARIA R. DEMIRANDA
Mrs. Maria R. DeMiranda, age 89, of Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and was a lifetime resident of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her last years, she spent in Panama City, Fla. with her daughter and family. Maria was a lifetime member of the Dioceses of St. Francis of Asis in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She assisted Father Bernard in visiting and bringing comfort and happiness to the sick and the ones in need. Her artistic hand for many years prepared beautiful and delicate flowers and table arrangements. She was also blessed with a "green thumb", all her plants grew healthy and beautiful. She was a loving mother to five children, her five "pearls" as she always said; She was a devoted daughter, who took care of her mother and grandmother. Everybody loved her, she touched so many lives and brought so much happiness during her life. Marietta or Maricuchi, as she was lovingly known was special, wonderful, and unique. Her great love and kindness will always be in our hearts. She was caring and always giving. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rafael, and her oldest son, Jose Rafael. Maria is survived by her daughters: Gladys M. Lauer and her husband Robert of Panama City and Maria A. Martin and her husband Frank of Davie, Fla.; sons, Manuel A. Miranda of Panama City and Jaime R. Miranda and his wife Katherine of San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: eleven grandchildren: John Merced and his wife Theresa of Panama City; Jessica Figueroa and her husband Ivan of Caparra, Puerto Rico, Michelle Malone and her husband Clem of Pembroke Pines, Fla., Gisele Martin of Davie, Fla., Omar Miranda of Dorado, Puerto Rico, Denise Simo and her husband Eduardo of Dorado, Puerto Rico, Jose Manuel Miranda of Miami, Fla, Rafael A. Miranda and his wife Rita, Jaime R. Miranda and wife Doris, Jorge R. Miranda and his wife Thelma, and Jose R. Miranda, all of Puerto Rico; and great-grandchildren: John Michael Merced, Melisa and Crystal Malone, Michael Clue, Eduardo A. Simo, Gretchen and Griselle Miranda, Gabriel and Jorge Miranda, and Jan and Angelo Miranda. Maria loved life and will always be missed by us, her family and all that knew her. We will be grateful for the time she shared with us and the life that she so strongly embraced and for being always there for us. She will always be loved, always. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association.

LOLA K. EDWARDY
Mrs. Lola K. Edwardy, age 78, of 1503 Vermont Ave., Lynn Haven, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since 1996, coming here from Snellville, Ga. Mrs. Edwardy was a hairdresser and a member of Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, William H. Edwardy of Lynn Haven; daughters, Janet Perks of Boca Raton, Fla., and Sherry Bowen of Oxford, Ga; sister, Dora Lee of Cartersville, Ga; and grandchildren: Hillary Perkins, Grant Perkins, and David Thomas.

BONNIE V. ESTES
Mrs. Bonnie V. Estes, 52, of Panama City Beach, died Sunday, Feb. 13 at her home. Born in Mexico, Mo., she moved here in 1988 from Sedalia, Mo. She was a bookkeeper and was employed by Rail Management. She was the former owner of Jan's Pizza and a member of Gulfview Methodist Church. Mrs. Estes is preceded in death by her parents, George B. and Doris L. Reese. She is survived by her husband, Robert Estes of Panama City Beach; two sons, Todd McKinney of Panama City Beach and Rob Estes of Oakgrove, Mo.; one daughter, Michelle Wichterman and husband Jim of Panama City Beach; two sisters, Toni French and husband Jim of Warrenton, Mo. and Cheryl McKinney and husband Doug of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two grandchildren, Madison and Matthew Wichterman both of Panama City Beach. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Fillingim officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

WILMA LAVINIA RODGERS EVANS
Funeral services for Wilma Lavinia Rodgers Evans, 81, formerly of Panama City, who died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in a Virginia Beach, Va., hospital will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Moore officiating. Private family graveside services will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Homemakers Sunday School Class of Northside Baptist Church.

ESTELL STRICKLAND FLEMING
Mr. Estell Strickland Fleming, 62, of 8833 John Pitts Road, Lot B, Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at her home. Born in Cottondale, Fla., she moved here in 1996 from Pensacola. She was housewife and a driver of a van for the disabled in Pensacola for Community Transportation. She was also Baptist by faith. Mrs. Fleming is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis John Fleming Jr. She is survived by two sons, John Fleming III and Michael Fleming both of Pensacola; one daughter, Denise Fleming of Pensacola; one brother, David Strickland and wife Loraine of Panama City; three sisters: Tina Blackman of Panama City, Mary Massey and husband W. T. Massey of Fort Worth, Texas and Lilly Strickland of Pensacola; two granddaughters, Lori Fleming of Panama City and Michelle Fleming of South Dakota; a very special friend, Ervin Bland of Panama City. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. in Callaway Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

THOMAS OLIVER GARRETT JR.
Thomas Oliver Garrett Jr., 77, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in a Columbus, Ga., hospital. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1933 moving here from DeFuniak Springs, Fla. He was a graduate of Bay High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II. He was deacon of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven. He was a member of Harry Jackson Masonic Lodge. Mr. Garrett was the son of T.O. and Alta Garrett Sr. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Garrett of Lynn Haven; son, Charles Roger Garrett and his wife, Pat; daughter, Lecile Oliver and her husband, Robert; two grandchildren, Patrick Garrett, Shannon Garrett; brother, Donald N. Garrett of Panama City; two sisters, Marquerite Cartwright of Tampa, Glenna Ward of Lynn Haven; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven with the Rev. Burney Enzor and the Rev. Dennis Pledger officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven of your favorite charity in memory of Thomas Garrett Jr.

JAMES HOMER HAWKINS
James Homer Hawkins, 88, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in an Oak Ridge, Tenn., hospital. He had been a resident of Bay County for 68 years moving here from Greenville, S.C. He was a master technician and shop foreman for Chrysler Corporation. He was owner of Gulf Coast Speedway in Lynn Haven. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Hawkins. He is survived by two daughters, Judy Rhea of Powell, Tenn., Sylvania Nelson; three sons: Mike Hawkins, Buddy Hawkins all of Panama City, Fla., Curtis Hawkins of Greenville, S.C.; 20 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four sisters: Mae Lindsey, Marie McKinney, Mary Mason and Frances Crain all of Greenville, S.C. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike Comer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m.

MARY F. HEAD
Mrs. Mary F. Head, 77, of Panama City, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, in a local nurisng home. Born in Hattiesburg, Miss., she moved here in 1961 from Orlando, Fla. She was a housewife and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Mrs. Head is survived by one son, Hardy Lee Head and wife Kathleen of San Antonio, Texas ; four grandchildren: Alan Head of Augusta, Ga., Rudi Head and Elizabeth Head both of New York City, N.Y., Patrick Head of San Antonio, Texas . Memorialization will be by cremation.

LEONARD FRANK PAULS
Mr. Leonard Frank Pauls, age 82, of 112 Fairway Blvd., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1984, coming here from Scofield, Wis. Mr. Pauls served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0010 in Wisconsin. He also attended Panama City Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Pauls of Panama City Beach; daughters, Ann Leslie Pendley of Panama City Beach and Kay Howard and her husband Barry of White Plains, Ky.; a son, Stan Pendley and his wife Angela of Rochester, Ky.; a sister, Esther Dahm of Scofield, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
