Funeral services for Gerald Miles Sowell, 62, of 29l5 Lisenby Ave., Lot A, who died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in a local hospital will be held Thursday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in Oakie Ridge Church Cemetery, Wausau, Fla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Those desiring to may make a donation to the American Diabetes Assn, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road. No.415, Maitland FL 3275l.

MARVIN ELMORE
Mr. Marvin Elmore, 51, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Wednesday morning at his residence. He was born and raised in Bay County and graduated from Bay High School. Mr. Elmore was self employed as a interior and floral designer and a member of First United Methodist Church. He is survived by one sister and her husband, Mischelle and Joe Gorman; two nephews, Brian Taylor and wife, Joanna, and Russell Taylor all of Panama City. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at graveside in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 7 p.m.

PERRY ALSTON EMBRY
Perry Alston Embry, 88, of 701 Bunkers Cove Road, Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at the Medical Center of Columbus, Ga. He had been a resident of Bay County for 70 years moving here from Talladega, Ala. He was a supervisor for Gulf Power Company for 47 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City. Mr. Embry was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol E. Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Hortense Cook Embry of Panama City; son, Harry Alston Embry and his wife, Anne; daughter, Nancy E. Cardin and her husband, James all of Columbus, Ga.; six grandchildren; Katherine Anna Phillips, Richard Graves Embry, Nancy Erin Davis, James Thomas Cardin II, Stephen Ryan Rogers, Devin Alston Rogers, and son-in-law, Steve Rogers. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating.

MARIE TUCKER BROWN
Mrs. Marie Tucker Brown, age 47, of 11330 3rd St., Youngstown, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000 at her home. She has been a lifetime resident of the area and worked in the Food Services Division of the Bay County School System. Mrs. Brown was also a member of the Jenks Avenue Church of Christ and the TOPS Club Chapter No. 56. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie O. Brown of Youngstown; two daughters, Amy Jo Brown and Jennifer Marie Brown, both of Youngstown; her mother, Benis Tucker of Panama City; a sister, Tina Tucker Bruce of Panama City; brothers: Danny Tucker and his wife Rannie of Amelia Island, Fla., Joey Tucker and his wife Angie and Robbie Tucker and his wife Andra, all of Panama City; aunts: Tensie "Tuc" McCoy of Panama City, Mather Lee of Montgomery, Ala., and Maxine Landgraff of Hermitage, Tenn.; an uncle, Walter Gordon Alford of New Port Ricey, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special cousin, Joan Eldridge. She was preceded in death by her father, William Durham Tucker. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., today., Feb. 24 at Youngstown Cemetery with Minister Doyle Smith and Minister Jack Reece officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Northwest Florida, 2589 Jenks Ave., Panama City, FL 32405.

WESLEY LEEMON McVAY
Mr. Wesley Leemon McVay, 63, of Panama City died Tuesday at his residence. He moved to Bay County in 1967 from Lincoln, Neb. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Air Force. He was the owner and operator of Sip-n-Cue Lounge and Westwinds. Mr. McVay was predeceased by his parents, Floyd Y. and Wynona McVay and a sister, Alice Antone. He is survived by his wife, Mildred J. McVay of Panama City; two sons and their wives, Ken and Tammy McVay and Kevin and Pam McVay all of Panama City; two sisters and their husbands, Charollette and Ron Boyer of Milanville, Penn., and Georgette and Leo Bloomfield of St. Augustine, Fla.; two brothers and their wives, George and Betty McVay of Flowery Branch, Ga. and Floyd Y. McVay Jr. and wife Carol of Panama City; five grandchildren: Jarrett, Courtney, Kaycie, Chase and Kori. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Ace McVay and Kevin McVay officiating. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers: Lane Spoonas, Paul Maund, Mike Yent, Terry Kilgore, Mickey McGinley, Jimmy Provost and Thomas Scott. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

RALPH GAMBRELL
Services for Ralph Gambrell, 81, of Marion, La., will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Feb. 25, 2000 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La., with the Rev. Tuck Roberts and Dick Paige officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near Downsville under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Mr. Gambrell was retired from the Air Force, a World War II veteran, a member of Conway Baptist Church and a former deacon of New Hope Baptist Church. He was also a Mason with Parker Lodge No. 142 in Parker, Fla. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and a Shriner. Mr. Gambrell was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Futrell Gambrell; one brother, Max Gambrell; one sister, Alma Swanney. He was the son of Frank H. Gambrell and Della W. Gambrell. Survivors include his wife, Yvette Gambrell of Marion, La.; three sons: Gary Ammons of Rocky Mount, N.C.; Herbert LaBree Gambrell of Vidor, Texas , and Ronald A. Gambrell of Panama City; one daughter, Peggy Brannon of Panama City; four stepsons: Charles Isaac of Farmerville, William Isaac of Rayville, Roy Isaac and Steve Isaac, both of Farmerville; two stepdaughters, Charlene Waller of Pioneer, La., and Theresa Methvin of Farmerville; four sisters: Eunice Adams of Anderson, S.C., Myrtle Wells of Anderson, Blanche Blume of Anderson, Hazel Azar of Dothan; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 20 step-grandchildren; and 10 step great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Steve Gambrell, David Gambrell, Ron Gambrell Jr., Burt Brannon, Milton Futrell and Dennis Ball.

FRANK JOHNSON
In loving memory of the late Mr. Frank Johnson, who was a resident in Bay County for many years. He worked for Panama Glass Company as a glacier until he relocated to Tallahassee in 1974 where he remained until he departed this life on Feb. 21, 2000 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Born March 25, 1922 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Locklin (Estelle) Johnson in Pensacola, he later married Novella (Boyd) Johnson and to that union nine children were born. He was a faithful member of Jacob Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Tallahassee for many years under the late Rev. and Dr. David Henderson. One son preceded him in death, Sam Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory Betty (FL) Kelly of Gainesville; Syberlene (James) Dennis of Panama City; Annie Ruth Johnson of Pensacola; Alma (Luther) Scott; Virginia (John) Smith; Yvonne Johnson; Janice (William) Bailey; Frank Johnson; Ruby World, all of Panama City; Gregory Johnson of Savannah, Ga.; a loving and devoted cousin, Tina Nelson; Torian and Zuri of Tallahassee; a dear friend, Mr. Hayword William of Tallahassee; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mr. Leo (Rose) Johnson of Pensacola, Mr. Eddie Johnson of Atmore, Ala.; three sisters: Annie R. Allen, Mytrice Louis of Pensacola, Eva Mae (Kermit) of Thomas of San Antonio, Texas ; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, in Panama City at 2 p.m. in Fellowship Church of Praise with Drs. David and Vernette Rosier, Pastors and the Rev. James Barker, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Public visitation will begin at the funeral home today from 1 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at 827 Kraft Ave. in Panama City, Fla.

MARY ALICE JOINER
Mary Alice Joiner, 59, of Fountain, Fla., passed away Feb. 15, 2000 at Bay Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 20, at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband, Roy Joiner; father and stepmother, Raymond and Mary Thomas, all of Fountain; and numerous other loving family and friends. Memorials to Gideons International.

WILLIAM V. 'BILL' KLODT
Mr. William V. "Bill" Klodt, age 62, of 4906 E. Bus. U.S. 98, Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000 at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the area since 1957, coming here from Shawno, Wisc. Mr. Klodt worked as a maintenance person at the Sun Harbor Marina and was Lutheran by faith. He also served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Klodt is survived by his mother, Jean M. Klodt of Panama City; a sister, Marlys Martini and her husband Joe of Panama City; a brother, Bernard Klodt of Panama City; a nephew, Victor Huntington of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernie George Klodt. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Joe Martini, Bernard Klodt, Bob Fowler, Ray Syfrett, Douglas Dykes and Andy Dykes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Feb. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the funeral home, to offset funeral expenses.

GLENDORA ESTHER LOTURCO
Glendora Esther LoTurco, 87, of Panama City, died Wednesday Feb. 23, 2000 in a local nursing home. She had worked as a volunteer for Halifax General Hospital in Daytona Beach, Fla., volunteering for more than 4000 hours. She had been a resident of Bay County for three years, moving here from Daytona Beach. She was a member of Daytona Baptist Church in Daytona Beach. She is survived by four sons: Raymond LoTurco of Indianapolis, Ind., the Rev. Carl LoTurco and his wife Beverly of Cody, Wyo., Edwin LoTurco and his wife Marion of Lexington, Mass., and James LoTurco and his wife Lynn of Panama City Beach; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl LoTurco officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
