Linda Gail Sellers
Linda Gail Sellers, age 74 of Monroe, died on December 30, 2015. She was born in Walton County on January 14, 1941 to the late Margaret Adcock Broach and the late Hurst Broach. She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles Sellers. Surviving are: son and daughter in law, Greg and Karen Sellers of Social Circle; grandchildren, Joey and Chastity Sellers; and grandson, Waylon Sellers. A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Social Circle City cemetery . Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

John Bazley Graves Kerr, III
John Bazley Graves Kerr III, age 69, of Monroe, died on February 9, 2016. He was born at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta on January 8, 1947, to the late Mary Emma Kerr and the late John Bazley Graves Kerr Jr. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Little. Surviving are his son, John Edward Kerr, and his daughter and son-in-law, Amber L. Bailey and Terry Bailey, as well as his beloved grandsons, Taylor and Tanner Bailey. He was a proud Marine who bravely served his country during the Vietnam War. Throughout the post-war years he suffered from PTSD and drug addiction; although, in the end he had turned his life around. He was very proud of the changes he made in his life. He started attending church and was baptized. He purchased a home in Monroe and graduated from DeKalb Technical College with a degree in Marketing Management. Most importantly, he became the father and grandfather his family always wanted, and he never missed a chance to tell them he loved them. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made to ?The Extension? at P.O. Box 793, Marietta, Ga 30061. This rehabilitation center serves, and has turned around, the lives of many military veterans. His service will be Friday, February 26, 2016 at 1 PM at Georgia National cemetery at 2025 Mt. Carmel Church Ln, Canton, GA 30114. Pastor Jeff Box officiating.

Steve Ruark
Coy Steven Ruark, age 60 of Madison, died on March 8, 2016. He was born in Monroe, on March 28, 1955 to the late John Hastleton Ruark and the late Edna Ward Ruark. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Jackie Whitlock Ruark, sister, the late Kay Whitlock, and brother, the late Ronald Ruark. Surviving are: Daughters and Sons in Law: Gina and Chris Stewart of Bostwick, April and Ricky Blevins of Covington, Stephanie and Charles Hamm of Rutledge; Brothers and Sisters in Law: Johnny and Renea Cionelo-Ruark of Philippines, Reuben and Donna Ruark of Good Hope, Charles and Rhonda Ruark of Rutledge; Grandchildren: Alana Stewart, Shelby Blevins, Jack Blevins, Kathryn Blevins, Angel Binion, Annette Hamm, and Makala Hamm. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Coulter officiating. Interment followed at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ronald Mesko
Ronald Andrew Mesko, age 66, of Monroe, died on March 10, 2016. He was born in Illinois on June 20, 1949. He retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service. His last assignment was working as a civilian for the Air Force in the Pentagon. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Mesko of Monroe; daughter, Virginia Mesko of Fairview Heights, IL; son, Bryan Mesko of Fairview Heights, IL; step sons and step daughters in law, Shannon and Elizabeth Brewer, Clayton Brewer, Andrew Brewer and Allie Atkinson; sister, Deborah Van DeMerkt of Arizona; brother and sister in law, Andrew and Linda Mesko of McDonough; and 6 grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 13, at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Durden officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Memory Gardens. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Sara B. Rowe
Sarah Brown Rowe, age 99, of Monroe, died on March 7, 2016. She was born in Walton County on March 5, 1917 to the late Jessie Estella Hester Brown and the late Corry Jefferson Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late James Allen Rowe. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Jan and Tony Hutchins of Monroe; granddaughter and grandson in law, Ashlea and Chris Mayer of Marietta; niece and caregiver, Harriette Griffin of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Don Malcom officiating. Interment will follow at Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Jacob Clodfelter
Jacob Clodfelter Jacob Fred Clodfelter, age 84, of Social Circle, died on February 29, 2016. He was born in Comer, GA on September 27, 1931 to the late Jesse Mae Christian Clodfelter and the late Mason Luther Clodfelter. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Clodfelter of Social Circle; daughter and son in law, Rachel and Alex Alley III, of Kingsland; grandchildren, Margaret Alley of Statesboro, and Alex Alley IV of Kingsland. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Social Circle First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Clegg and Rev. Mike Hardy officiating. Interment will followe at Social Circle City Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Johnny Malcom
John Franklin (Johnny) Malcom, age 70, of Monroe, died on February 25, 2016. He was born in Walton County on April 21, 1945 to the late Margaret Christopher Malcom and the late Alton Parker Malcom. Surviving are: wife, Clara B. Malcom of Monroe; sons and daughters in law, Chris and Wanda Malcom of Monroe, chad and Stephanie Malcom of Gray; sisters and brothers in law, Adeline and Jimmy Hale of Monroe, Sue and Jimmy Peters of Monroe; brothers and sisters in law, Usher Malcom of Madison, David and Debra Malcom of Madison, Brenda Malcom of Monroe, Linda Malcom of Monroe; and 7 grandchildren. Funeral services were Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Carrell and Rev. Willie Hatfield officiating. Mary Nell Walker
Mary Nell Walker, age 89, of Monroe, died on March 29, 2016. She was born on April 13, 1926 to the late Mattie Lou Armstead Malcom and the late Bart Emery Malcom. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Charlie Boyd Walker. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Gail and Dennis Hester of Monroe; son and daughter in law, Kevin and Sarah Walker of Good Hope; brother and sister in law, Harold and Carolyn Malcom of Madison; grandson, Jesse Walker of Madison; step grandchildren, Brett and Lindsay Love of Grayson, Whitney and Daniel Castresana of Monroe; step great grandchildren, Emma Love and Ellison Love. A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Monroe Church of God with Rev. David Smith and Rev. Wayne Durden officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Memory Gardens. Arnold R. Castro
Arnold Ramon Castro, PhD Arnold Ramon Castro, PhD, age 81, of Campton Georgia, died on March 12, 2016 after a long illness. He was born in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1934 to the late Emma Palma and the late Ramon Castro. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Helen Castro, in 2015. Surviving are: daughter and son-in-law, Maria Alexander and James Wamsley of Duluth; son and daughter-in-law, Bob Castro and Lauchi Wooley of Doraville; brother, Eduardo Aljure of Port St Lucie, FL and sister, Zulma Gutierrez of Gaithersburg, MD. Arnold Castro immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 to study microbiology at NY University. He served in the US Army at the 42nd Field Hospital in Verdun, France and the Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. After military service, he married the former Helen Broscius of Shamokin PA in 1960. Son, Bob and daughter, Maria were born in New York in 1961 and 1963 respectively. Arnold Castro's microbiology talents were utilized in private industry in New York and New Jersey before joining Dade Reagents, Miami, FL in 1967. By 1970, Dr. Castro settled the family in Campton, GA to work at Lee Laboratories, Grayson, GA as a research biologist and regulatory affairs coordinator. In 1997, Dr. Castro attained his ultimate goal when he joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. There he developed and patented new laboratory techniques including the rapid detection and confirmation of syphilis. Arnold Castro's 60-year career in microbiology leaves behind a legacy of service aimed at improving the health of people around the world. A visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Meadows Funeral Home, 760 GA Highway 11 South, Monroe, GA (next to Leroy Anderson Drive). Visitation will begin at noon and the funeral will start at 2pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home, Father Daniel Toof officiating.

Linda Goble
Linda Ann Goble, age 74, of Monroe, died on March 30, 2016. She was born in Walton County on July 4, 1941 to the late Cora Lavern Kilgore Fuller and the late Horance Matthew Fuller. She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Sally and David Malcom, Kelly and Greg Parham, Sandy and Deral Dobbs; sister in law, Diane Fuller; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Union Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Canuel officiating. Interment followed at Cox Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Mike Herndon
Robert Michael "Mike" Herndon, age 66, of Good Hope died peacefully in his sleep on March 28, 2016. He was born in Walton County on February 18, 1950 to the late Willie Maude Malcom Herndon and the late Robert Louis Herndon. He was preceded in death by his son, the late Michael Herndon. He was a Morgan County High School Graduate. He worked for the Walton EMC for 44 years as a Jourman Lineman, then worked in the service department for over 20years. He became a Certified Arborist, and ended his career as the Right of Way Supervisor. He was also an avid fisherman, and a diehard Georgia fan. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Herndon of Good Hope; daughter and son in law, Christi and Shane Greene of Madison; sisters and brother in law, Gina Jones of Walnut Grove, Gloria and William Crew of Madison; mother in law, Jimmie Willett of Good Hope; brother in law and sister in law, Eddie and Leslie Willett of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Bailee Greene of Madison, Mattie Greene of Madison; two nieces, two nephews, and four great nieces. A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Byron "Butch" Lee officiating. Interment followed at Peters Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Lowell "Whitey" Worth
Lowell "Whitey" Worth, age 83 of Monroe, died March 27, 2016 in his home where his children had been lovingly caring for him. He was born on August 5, 1932 in Lincoln, Illinois to Bertha Marie Schroder Worth and Blinn Beaver Worth. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 22 years, Jackie Allen Worth. He was from a large family of 10 children, five of whom have also preceded him in death. They are Wanda Puttmon, Beverly Johnson, Delores Phillips, Phyllis Hale and John Worth, all of Illinois and granddaughter Misty Lynn Boyd. He is survived by, sisters, Marsha Nalley of Kentucky, Karen Guy and Sandra Buttuell, of Illinois and brother Ronnie Worth of Illinois, son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Janet Bowden of Loganville, daughters and son-in-law's, Al and Kitty (Bowden) Yarbrough of Monroe, Cindy (Bowden) Johnson of Monroe, Mickey & Debbie (Bowden) Shaw of Loganville, Randall and Tracey (Worth) Wheeler of Monroe and Vicki (Worth) Fares of Monroe. Also, his grandchildren, Shayne Bowden, Shannon Butler, Kristi Keesee, Nic Johnson, Zac Johnson, Eric Kent, Katelyn Farid, Olivia Wheeler, Wes Wheeler, Matt Boyd and Christian Boyd; great grandchildren, Stephen Bowden, Bailey & Addison Butler, Breanna & Joseph Keesee, Chase Johnson, Zoey & Caleb Johnson and Korbin & Kamden Farid. He also leaves behind his very special friend, Carolyn Ashley; and a special thank you to his wonderful caregivers, Amanda and Edna. He was a Mason, a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Protective Order of Elks. He graduated High School in Illinois in 1951 and then served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean War from 1952-54. He retired from Chamberlain Manufacturing where he was a truck driver. After retirement he raised cattle on a farm in Monroe before starting his golf cart business which he ran until just recently. He was a family man, who especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren at large family dinners and cookouts. One of his favorite gatherings was Father's Day, where all of his family came together to express their love and appreciation for him. His grandchildren loved riding golf carts with their "Papa". He truly enjoyed traveling across the U.S. with his late wife Jackie in their motorhome. One of their special places to camp was Unicoi Springs Camp Resort. In the later years of his life, he met a lot of people thru his golf cart business. They came to him as a customer and left as a friend for life. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30th at Meadows Funeral Home and the funeral service will be at the First Baptist Church of Monroe. The service will be at officiated by Todd Ware. Burial will be at Hill Haven Memory Gardens.

Gail Malcom
Dianna Gail Malcom, age 65, of Monroe, died on March 28, 2016. She was born in Walton County on February 23, 1951 to the late Sara Frances Moore Whitley and the late Oliver Dock Whitley. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Malcom of Monroe; daughter and son in law, Melissa and Todd Parker of Monroe; son, Brent Malcom of Monroe; sister, Jane Broach of Monroe; grandchildren: Abigail, Emma, and Maddy Parker. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Carol officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Memory Gardens. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Charles Edmondson
Charles Dwayne Edmondson, age 60 of Good Hope, died on March 22, 2016. He was born in Walton County on January 31, 1956 to Charlotte Meadows Edmondson and Charles Robert Edmondson. He is survived by his mother and father, Charlotte and Robert Edmondson of Good Hope; brothers and sisters in law, Eugene and Lee Edmondson of Good Hope, Mike Edmondson, Lynn and Millie Edmondson of Good Hope; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at Good Hope Christian Church with Rev. Willis Lumpkin officiating. Interment followed at Good Hope Christian Church Cemetery. June Carr Robertson
June Hester Carr Robertson of Monroe, GA passed away on March 20, 2016. June was the daughter of the late Charlie H. Carr and the late Ruth Armstrong Carr; wife of the late Thomas L. Robertson; and aunt of the late Beth Barnes Beasley. She is survived by her daughter, Teressa Ann Malcom Tanner; granddaughters, Emily, Meredith, and Natalie Tanner; sister, Norma, and brother in law, Conrad Barnes; niece, Laura Barnes Pakula; great nieces and nephews, Rebekah and Gordon Beasley; Frank and Elizabeth Pakula. June was an avid bridge player, golfer, and enjoyed crafts, reading, the Pilot Club of Monroe, and was the "best cook around." She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe, teaching in the childrens department for many years. Funeral service was held at the Monroe First Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 with Interment at Rest Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donation in memory of June to the First Baptist Church Children's Program at 202 McDaniel St. Monroe, GA 30655.

Abigail Jayne Jordan, age 7, of Loganville, died on March 18, 2016. She was born in Gwinnett County on May 10, 2008 to Gentry Preston Jordan and Matthew Jordan. He is survived by his mother and father, Rhonda and Mike Satterfield of Monroe; brother, Chris Satterfield of Monroe; grandparents, Brenda and Ron Baker of Monroe, Doug Parker of Monroe, Linda Booth of Winterville; and great grandmother, Magdalene Phillips of Bethlehem.
