Mr. Thomas Jordan, 55, of Louisville died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at University Hospital in Augusta.
Mr. Jordan, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of New Fleming Baptist Church. He received his education in the Jefferson County school system.
The funeral was Aug. 17 at 1 p.m. at John and Alavan Garrer Memorial Chapel-Garrer Funeral Home with the Rev. King Mack officiating. Burial was in New Fleming Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Estella Harmon Jordan, Wadley; his mother, Adenomia Morgan, Louisville; step-daughter, Shiree Harmon, Wadley; sister, Betty Johnson, Louisville; brother, Leroy Morgan Sr., Bartow; mother-in-law, Vonnie Harmon, Wadley; and several other relatives.

Roy Olin Smith
Mr. Roy Olin Smith, 71, of Thomson died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006.
Mr. Smith, a native of Glascock County, lived most of his life in McDuffie County. He was retired from Kingsley Mill with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
The funeral was Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Patrick DeVane officiating. Burial was in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Cason Smith; two daughters, Debbie S. Hughes and Connie S. Jones, Thomson; a son, David Olin Smith, Thomson; a sister, Idell Hawkins Land, Thomson; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Callaway, Winnard Chalker, Alton Gheesling, Kenneth Kitchens, George Darden and Roy Russell.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

M r s . Josephine Hall of Louisville died Aug. 8, 2006.
M r s . Hall, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Spring Bethel AME Church and the Spring Bethel Benevolent Society. She received her education in the Jefferson County school system.
The funeral was Aug. 12 at 3 p.m. at Spring Bethel AME Church with the Rev. Minnie P. Davis officiating. Burial was in Spring Bethel Society Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny Lee (Mary) Davis and Lawrence (Christine) Davis Sr., Louisville; Marion (Sonja) Thomas, Dublin; daughters, Glennis Dukes and Shirley Thomas, Louisville; brother, Bobby (Hattie) Boatwright, Louisville; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several other relatives.

Lucille Dukes Salter
Mrs. Lucille Dukes Salter, 67, of Bartow died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at University Hospital in Augusta. Mrs. Salter, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church and retired registrar of Jefferson County.
The funeral was Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at Old Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Sauls and the Rev. Randy Mimbs officiating. Burial was in the Wadley cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Edward Salter, Bartow; two sons, Greg (Jan) Gaston, Wadley, and Edward J. (Teresa) Salter, Louisville; one daughter, Salena (Clay) Grace, Moxley; a brother-inlaw, J.E. Dukes, Eatonton; and seven grandchildren.

Ruth E. Will
Mrs. Ruth E. Will, 88, of Vidette died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, at University Hospital in Augusta.
Mrs. Will, a native of La- Porte, Ind., was the daughter of the late Forest and Gertrude Neely Edwards. She lived in Vidette since 1991 and was a member of Bethel ARP Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gail J. Will.
Memorial services were Aug. 19 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Dr. H. Don Yancey of- ficiating.
Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie (William) Stallsmith, Vidette; three grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat- granddaughter.

Elder Eddie L. Young Sr. of Bartow died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, in Louisville.
The funeral was Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. at Pierce Grove Baptist Church in Bartow with Apostle Mishel Clair officiating. Burial was in the Kirkland cemetery in Midville.
Survivors include two daughters, Pastor Roberta McKennie, Bartow, and Deborah (John) Carter, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three sons, Eddie (Maggie) Young Jr., and Roosevelt (Kathy) Young, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Larry (Colleen) Young, Augusta; one brother-in-law; two sisters- in-law; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and several other relatives.

Hattie Watkins Hodges
Mrs. Hattie Watkins Hodges, 90, of Louisville died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006.
The sixth of 10 children of the late Mark and Sally Cooper Watkins, she was born Feb. 4, 1916, at her family’s farm near Bartow, and was educated in the Jefferson County School System. On Dec. 23, 1929, she married
Jack Hodges.
They made their home in Louisville. She was an active member of the Louisville United Methodist Church for 60 years, a member of the Barwick Sunday School Class and active in the women’s work of the church.
In 1955 Mrs. Hodges purchased The Primp Shoppe, a ladies dress shop, on Broad Street in Louisville. She owned and operated this business until her retirement in 1992.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hodges; and her brothers, Frank Watkins, H.E. “Shorty” Watkins; and sisters, Nina W. Eubanks, Ruby W. Hartley and Ruth W. Horne.
The funeral was Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. at Louisville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Beau Taylor and Ed Deen officiating. Burial was in Louisville City Cemetery. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie Lester and Connie Hodges, Statesboro, and Larry Mark and Donnie Hodges, Louisville; three sisters, Frances W. Jones, Louisville, Christine W. Hanley, Louisville, and Bobbie W. Poole, Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Ronnie Lester Hodges Jr., Patrice McKenzie Hodges Wickham, Larry Mark Hodges Jr., Matthew Evans Hodges, and William Donovan Hodges; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Margaret McCloud White, 81, of Wadley died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006.
Mrs. White, a native of Jenkins County, lived in Chatham County and Chicago, Ill., before moving to Wadley in 1984. She attended Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
The funeral was Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Mount Olive Baptist Church and cemetery with Apostle Clifford Duckworth officiating.
Survivors include her children, Edward White Jr., Chicago, George White and Cora White, Wadley; one step-daughter, Betsy Robinson, Mulberry, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Lula Bell Collins, Cleveland, Ohio; several grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary Winn Brown
Mrs. Mary Winn Brown of Louisville died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at University Hospital in Augusta.
Mrs. Brown, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Stone Springfield AME Church. She received her education in the Jefferson County school system. She was employed at Stapleton Garment Company for several years becoming a school bus driver for the Jefferson County Board of Education.
The funeral was March 18 at 2 p.m. at Stone Springfield AME Church with the Rev. Samuel Tompkins officiating and the Rev. Carl Simmons assisting. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, David (Toni) Brown, Donald (Roshanda) Brown and Christopher Brown, Louisville; adopted daughter, Jeanette Brown, Louisville; adopted son, Larry Brown, Augusta; sisters, Betty (Henry) Hinson, Baltimore, Md., Eunice Walker and Sally Toby, Stapleton, and Drucilla Morgan, Louisville; brothers, Willie Winn, Wrens, and Herbert Winn, Augusta; 13 grandchildren; and several other relatives.

Horace Eagle
Mr. Horace Eagle of Augusta died Friday, March 10, 2006, at Dwight Eisenhower Medical Center.
Mr. Mitchell, a native of Mitchell, became a member of St. Paul AME Church at an early age. He moved to Augusta in 1947 and became a member of Second Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He served as chairman of the trustee board. He served in the United States Army during World War II. After being discharged from the military he began working at the Augusta Arsenal. He was employed as a nurse's assistant at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He retired as a civil service employee after 40 years of service. He worked part-time at the Veterans Administration Hospital Facility for Extended Care. He is preceded in death by his wife Marie Jones Eagle.
The funeral was March 16 at noon at Second Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Thornton officiating. Burial was at Walker Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Charles Eagle, Hephzibah; one granddaughter, Barbara Dayonna Caldwell Eagle, Hephzibah; mother-in-law, Annabel Jones; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; one aunt and several cousins.

Charles Holloway III
Mr. Charles Holloway III died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Portland, Maine.
Mr. Holloway was a native of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John P. Brown Jr. and Redie M. Brown-Young; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Estella Holloway Sr.
The funeral was March 16 at 7 p.m. at Serenity Hill's Funeral Chapel, Rochester, N.Y., with the Rev. Charles Holloway Jr. officiating. Burial was in Falls Cemetery, Greece, N.Y.
