Zenious “Buddy” Smith, Jr., died Monday, November 5, 2007, at his home in Long County.
A wake/visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, November 9, at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church in Ludowici.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, at Power House Deliverance (Bishop R. Napper), located on Airport Road in Hinesville. Burial will be at St. Thomas Church Cemetery.

Nell Strickland, 76

Mrs. Nell Strickland, 76, died Saturday, November 3, 2007, at her home.
The Tattnall County native lived most of her life in Cobbtown. Nell was a homemaker and a member of the Cobbtown Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jon Albert Strickland.
She is survived by a son, Al Strickland of Cobbtown; two daughters and sons - in - law, Susan and Mac Mackey of Valdosta, Nancy and Bobby Smith of Collins; brother and sister - in - law, Ricky and Suzanne Strickland of Charleston, SC; three sisters and a brother - in - law, Lucy and Bobby Jarriel of Collins, Joni Strickland of Ft. Myers, FL and Ruth Griner of Claxton; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, November 5, 2007, at Sunlight cemetery in Cobbtown with Rev. Sterling Bargeron officiating. Pallbearers were Jonathan Strickland, Jonathan Burns, Lee Mackey, Kenny Cannon, Phil Jarriel and Joey Sands.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

Naomi Strickland Waters, 68

Naomi Strickland Waters, 68, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007, at Glenvue Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of her life. She was retired from the Glennville Police Department as a radio operator and was a member of Glennville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lan and Freida Strickland and a brother, Bill Strickland.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Grooms of Glennville; sisters and brother - in - law, Wylene Johnson, Johnnie Burkhalter, Judy and Beach Stanfield, all of Glennville and Brenda Strickland of Augusta; sister - in - law, Gayle Strickland of Merritt Island, FL; grandsons, Jeremy (Jennifer) and Adam (Candice) Grooms; great - grandsons, Clay and Jacob Grooms and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 6, 2007, from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, with Reverend Vance Riggins officiating. Burial followed in the Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Sikes, Randy Burkhalter, Terry Burkhalter, Stacy Johnson, Dennis Stanfield and Keith Stanfield.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville was in charge of the arrangements.

Nancy Anderson Dent, 88

Nancy Anderson Dent, 88, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient center in Statesboro. Nancy was born in Tattnall County March 26, 1919, to Lester and Pearl Kennedy Anderson and lived in Albany for many years before moving back to Glennville in 1992. She was a graduate of Glennville High School and attended Georgia Teachers College, now Georgia Southern University. She taught school for many years in Tattnall, Ware and Appling Counties. She was the co - owner of the W.L. Dent Beauty & Barber Supply Company in Albany from 1939 until 1976. She was a member of Albany First Baptist Church for nearly 50 years. She was a member of S.C. Walden Sunday School Class, J.O.Y. Group, Green Thumb Garden Club and the Sewing Club for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Dent.
She is survived by a daughter and son - in - law, Susan and Lamar Blakey; grandson, Waymon L. Blakey all of Glennville; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Funeral Services were held Monday, October 29, 2007 at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.

Leona Dyches Dixon, 75

Mrs. Leona Dyches Dixon, 75, of Claxton died Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Bulloch County native had lived most of her life in Evans County and was a homemaker. She was the widow of Bobby Dixon.
She is survived by three daughters, Gail Richardson of Claxton, Sara Geiger and Janice Banks both of Macon; two brothers, Eddie Dyches and Robert Dyches of Swainsboro; 12 grandchildren and 14 great - grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Green Fork cemetery near Millen with Pastor James Spence officiating.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter was in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Howard, 60

Alice Howard, 60, was born August 9, 1947, in Uvalda, GA, to the late Fleming and Ardelia Adams. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Glenvue Nursing Home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
She attended public school in Tattnall County. She later moved to Florida and lived for many years. She worked as a housekeeper on the Miami Florida Beach.
She met the love of her life. They were together 25 years before they married. They were united in Holy Matrimony on October 6, 1992. He passed away on October 30, 1992.
In 1993 she returned home to live with her family. She worked at Ithaca Sewing Factory until it closed and then at Claxton Poultry until her health failed.
Two sisters, one brother and one nephew preceded her in death.
She is survived by one sister, Lula Mae Adams; special nieces; nephews; cousins and friends; two brothers - in - law; and three sisters - in - law who all love her very much.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 27, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Center of Life Church of God with Pastor Tony Harden and Minister Reba K. Feliciano officiating. Cousins and friends served as pallbearers. Interment followed at Old Halltown Cemetery.

Belinda Dowd LaPan, 56

Belinda Dowd LaPan, 56, passed away early Sunday Morning at her residence. The Chatham County native had lived in Charlotte most of her life, prior to moving to Belmont a year ago. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda Dowd.
She is survived by her partner of 34 years, Gary Ott of York, SC; daughter, Hope LaPan of Bellmont, NC; son, Richard LaPan Jr. of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Brenda Roberson of Jacksonville, GA, Janice Dowd and Sandra Laney, both of York, SC; three brothers, Richard Dowd of Stanley, NC, Sport Dowd of Savannah, GA and Roger Dowd of York, SC; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted Wednesday from the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery with Reverend Ralph Horne officiating.
Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas H. Moody, 68

Thomas H. Moody, 68, died Thursday, October 25, 2007, after a long illness. He was born March 31, 1939 in long county and lived there most of his life. He was a painting contractor and a member of Pigott Branch Baptist Church.
Mr. Moody was preceded in death by his parents, James Irvin Moody and Katie Jane Dennison; brothers, Garland Moody, Ronnie Moody and Doyle Moody and sisters, Lizzie Rewis and Jewel Groover; one great - grandchild, Stevie Lee Royer - Watts.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dora Lee Moody of Long County; son, Thomas H. Moody Jr. (Lori) of Ludowici; daughters, Doreen Kicklighter (Bruce) of Glennville, Brenda Hawbecker (Joe) of Griffin, Marie Moody of Ludowici and Diane Hutcheson (Jerry) Reidsville; brothers, Remer Moody, Waldo Moody and Truman Moody, all of Ludowici; 14 grandchildren, 11 great - grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 28, 2007, at Pigott Branch Baptist Church with Reverend James Young officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Sam Joseph, Charles Moody, Randy Moody, Steve Morris, David Moody and Joseph Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were Tyrone Smith, Cecil Nobles, Jimmy Weitman, Mike Reddish, Irbie Moody, Jimmy Flournoy and Billy Hall.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Hardwick Mosley Jr., 72

STILLMORE - Funeral for Hardwick Mosley Jr., , 72, was held Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Page and Rev. George Archer officiating. Burial was in Stillmore City Cemetery. He died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 at Candler County Hospital.
Mr. Mosley was born on April 1, 1934 to the late Kelly Rufus and Mattie Mae McCullough Mosley. He had lived in Emanuel County all of his life. He worked with Colcraft Builders as a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Williams; and a brother, Kenny Mosley.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Madge Slater Mosley of Stillmore; two daughters, Jennie Marie Page and husband, Lorn of Swainsboro; and Sarah Kay Mosley of Stillmore; two sons, Richard Mosley of Stillmore; and Kenny Mosley of Swainsboro; a stepson, Donnie Slater and wife, Nancy of Stillmore; three brothers, Otis Mosley of Lexsy; Ray Mosley of Florida; and Dan Mosley of Swainsboro; three sisters, Lotus Wilkerson and husband, Junior of Swainsboro; May E. Atkinson of Soperton; and Hilda Joiner of Lyons; five grandchildren, Tabitha Slater, Samantha Hadden, Cheyanne Hair, Abbigail Page and Natalie Akridge; numerous nieces and nephews.
Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services had charge of arrangements.

James Thomas Proctor, 75

SWAINSBORO - Funeral for James Thomas Proctor 75, was held Friday, Sept. 1, 2006 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Peebles - Curry Durden Mortuary with Rusty Moore officiating. Burial was in Elam Baptist Church cemetery near Millen. He died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the Doctors Hospital in Augusta after an extended Illness.
Mr. Proctor was a native of Jenkins County, was in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired owner and operator of Proctor Welding in Swainsboro. He was a member of the Elam Baptist Church and preceded in death by his wife Margaret Moore Proctor and Parents, Augustus and Myrtle Forehand Proctor.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria Lane Brinson of Millen; one son, James: E. Proctor of Swainsboro; one sister, Maggie Proctor of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Cecil Proctor of Millen; and Irvin Proctor of Thomaston; four grandchildren, Melissa Mathern, Jennifer Brinson, Jennie Wilcher, Joseph Michael Proctor; and four great - grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bob Watson, Frank Wimberly, Robert Henry, Keith Hooks, Ricky Phillips, Stewart Proctor, and Eric Proctor.
Peebles - Curry - Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
