ARTHUR DALE HOSKIN

SAVANNAH - ARTHUR DALE HOSKIN, 80 of Savannah, Iowa died September 24, 2007 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. He was born icon July 2, 1927 in Savannah, Iowa to Arthur F. and Nellie Bonar Hoskin. He was a lifetime resident of Savannah, Iowa and was a 1945 graduate of Bloomfield High School. He married icon Barbara Louise Ritz June 20, 1953 in Bloomfield, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the owner/operator of the Hoskin Elevator Inc. in Savannah, Iowa. He was a member of the Savannah Christian Church, Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield and the Davis County Historical Society. He enjoyed traveling and his grandchildren were his pride and joy!

He is survived by his wife; 4 daughters Deborah (Greg) Whitacre, Cynthia (Vernon) Neill, and Lori (Gene) Dewes all of Bloomfield and Julie (Steve) Augspurger of Urbandale, Iowa; 10 grandchildren Dale (Holly), Paige and Jacie Whitacre, Haley (Ryan) Bishop and Kirby Neill, Logan, Kelsey and Lauren Dewes and Claire and Katie Augspurger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers Murl and Max Hoskin in infancy and Monte Hoskin and 2 sisters Annabel Kinnamon and Mabel Miller.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday September 28, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastors Kevin Gingerich and Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial with graveside military rites by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Thursday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm. Memorials have been established to Davis County Dollars for Scholars and the Savannah Christian Church.

WILLIAM FREDERICK JOSEPH NICOLI

OTTUMWA - WILLIAM FREDERICK JOSEPH NICOLI, 66 of Ottumwa and former Davis County resident died September 23, 2007 at the Ottumwa Manor. He was born icon June 9, 1941 in Sigourney, Iowa to Johnny O. and Betty Hobbs Nicoli. He married icon Paula Paradise in Arkansas. He later married icon Debbie Hermanstorfer. He was an over the road truck driver for Dickeys Transport for several years and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by a son Russell Nicoli of Sigourney, Iowa; 4 daughters Stephanie, Benita and Christine all of Arkansas and Billie of England; several grandchildren; 3 sisters Lorene Francis of Bloomfield, Iowa, Laurell (Orland) Weatherington of Milton, Iowa and Betty Ann (Russell) Woollums of Smithville, Missouri and longtime companion Barbara McConkey of Albia, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law Jerry Francis.

At his request the body has been cremated and no service is planned. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.

WILLIAM FREDERICK JOSEPH NICOLI

OTTUMWA - WILLIAM FREDERICK JOSEPH NICOLI, 66 of Ottumwa and former Davis County resident died September 23, 2007 at the Ottumwa Manor. He was born icon June 9, 1941 in Sigourney, Iowa to Johnny O. and Betty Hobbs Nicoli. He married icon Paula Paradise in Arkansas. He later married icon Debbie Hermanstorfer. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law Jerry Francis.

At his request the body has been cremated and no service is planned. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.

RACHEL H. SCHROCK

BLOOMFIELD - RACHEL H. SCHROCK, 30 of rural Bloomfield died September 19, 2007 of injuries received in a buggy/truck accident west of Drakesville, Iowa. She was born icon August 11, 1977 in Jamesport, Missouri to Henry and Laura Miller Beechy. She married icon John Edward Schrock April 7, 1999 in Drakesville, Iowa. She had lived in Davis County most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Old Order Amish.

She is survived by her husband; a son Ernest Dwayne Schrock; 3 daughters Laura Lucille, Treva Irene and Carol Sue Schrock all at home; her mother Laura Beechy of Drakesville, Iowa; 4 brothers Mervin and Harley Beechy both of Drakesville, Iowa, Perry Beechy of Bonduel, Wisconsin and Raymond Beechy of Arthur, Illinois and 2 sisters Irene Beachy of Vesterburg, Michigan and Katie Mast of Fremont, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be at 9:00 am Saturday September 22, 2007 at the family residence at 18097 Iris Blvd. Bloomfield, Iowa with Bishop John Earl Kuhns officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa. Visitation will be at the family residence Friday September 21, 2007. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is assisting the family.

HELEN LOUISE CONTE

DOUDS - HELEN LOUISE CONTE, 89 of Douds died September 16, 2007 at the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was born icon December 4, 1917 in New York City, New York to Arthur and Anna Savage Hunker. She trained as a pilot for the Military Supply Service during World War II. She married icon Stephen Conte after World War II. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was the Administrative Associate to the Comptroller for the New York City Housing Authority for 34 years and retired in 1984. She had been a resident of Douds since 1986.

She is survived by a son Stephen Metcalf Conte of Douds, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters Annabelle O’Rourke and Lillian Welsh both of New York and Florence White of New Jersey and a brother Phillip Hunker of Farmers Branch, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers Arthur and James Hunker and a sister Rose Ferrisi.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Thursday September 20, 2007 at the Primitive Baptist Cemetery near Eldon, Iowa with Elder Clyde Farmer officiating. Visitation will begin at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield after 1:00 pm Wednesday with the family present from 6:00-7:00 pm. Memorials have been established to the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and the Des Moines River Primitive Baptist Church.

IRENE JACKSON

BLOOMFIELD - IRENE JACKSON, 86 of Bloomfield died September 15, 2007 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born icon April 20, 1921 in Davis County, Iowa to Elmer and Eula Pearsall Humphrey. She married icon Lowell W. Jackson April 8, 1939 in Bloomfield, Iowa. He preceded her in death February 27, 1998. A resident of Davis County her lifetime, she was a homemaker and worked at the Davis County Hospital in housekeeping for 20 years. She was a member of the Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, Iowa and was a member of the Mission Circle.

She is survived by 2 sons Carl Jackson of Johnston, Iowa and Jerald Jackson of Floris, Iowa; a daughter Susan Jackson of Ottumwa, Iowa; 5 grandsons; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother Wayne Humphrey of Milton, Iowa; 3 sisters Ruth Vandegriff of Fairfield, Iowa, Doris Walker of Powell Butte, Oregon and Elizabeth Rysdam of Burlington, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Sheril Jean Jackson and 2 brothers Robert and Dean Humphrey.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday September 18, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastors Jack Jackson and Jesse Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Monday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm. A memorial has been established to the Unionville Baptist Church in Unionville, Iowa.

CRAIG ALLEN HETRICK

DRAKESVILLE - CRAIG ALLEN HETRICK, age 51 of rural Drakesville, Iowa died September 10, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born icon February 14, 1956 in Burlington, Iowa to Lyle and Gert Devereaux Hetrick. He married icon Stephanie Lawton May 28, 2000 in Cherokee, Iowa. He had lived in Drakesville since 2004 and was a meat inspector for the USDA.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter Autumn Hetrick of Dallas, Texas; a granddaughter Jayda Kemp and 2 sisters Pam Miller and Deb Hetrick both of Laurens, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 am Friday September 14, 2007 at the Valentine Cemetery 14377 Arbor Blvd. Unionville, Iowa with Bill Eakins officiating. Visitation will begin at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa at 1:00 pm Thursday with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.

FRED L. JOHNSON

OTTUMWA - FRED L. JOHNSON, age 67 of rural Ottumwa and former Pulaski, Iowa resident died September 9, 2007 at his home. He was born icon July 21, 1940 in Glenwood Mills, Iowa to Lee F. and Francis E. Ensminger Johnson. He married icon Jeanine McCune February 3, 1963 in Memphis, Missouri. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1959. He had been a resident of Ottumwa since 1991 and worked at John Deere, retiring in 1999. He was affiliated with the Christian Church and was an avid buckskinner.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons Rod (Teresa) Johnson of Pulaski, Iowa, David (Angela) Hall of Bloomfield, Iowa and Dennis (Tonya) Johnson of Pulaski, Iowa; a daughter Shanna (Mike) Galey of Kalispell, Montana and 7 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Wednesday September 12, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Kramer Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm for a casual visitation. Memorials may be made to the Pulaski Fire Departments or Hospice, Inc.

BRUCE BOGLE

BLOOMFIELD - BRUCE BOGLE, age 72 of Bloomfield died September 2, 2007 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa. He was born icon June 20, 1935 in Davis County, Iowa to Clarence and Virgie Farley Bogle. He married icon Rochelle Rodgers on November 13, 1954 in Bloomfield. They were later divorced. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1953. Bruce was a longtime businessman starting out at Hawkeye Hardware learning television repair and antennae installation. He later opened his own business in the back of Western Auto in 1957 and continued expanding into television, stereo and furniture sales and later moving to his present location adding his carpet and flooring, for a total of fifty years in business. Bruce was a trophy trap shooter, avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was a longtime member of the Izaak Walton and Bloomfield Country Club.

Bruce is survived by two daughters Teri Lyn Rendon and her husband Luis of Brownsville, Texas, Tonya Redding of Des Moines, Iowa and one son Brent Bogle of Des Moines, Iowa; 2 grandchildren Luis Rendon and Ella Rendon of Brownsville, Texas; longtime companion Jane Stevenson and 3 granddaughters Sydney, Sophie and Sadie Spargur; 2 brothers Dale (Joyce) Bogle of Bloomfield, Iowa and Gale (Linda) Bogle of Agency, Iowa and 4 sisters Shirley (Dick) Chapman of Ottumwa, Iowa, Carolyn (Martin) Shook of Bloomfield, Iowa, Lynn (Brad) Brobisky of Austin, Texas and Rosalind Cole of Thurmond, North Carolina.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and 2 brothers Thomas Edward and Davey Lee Bogle.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday September 7, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will be in the Coatsville Cemetery in Coatsville, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Thursday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm. Memorials in honor of Bruce may be made to the Izaak Walton B.F. Carroll Chapter or the Bloomfield Country Club.

YVONNE R. McALLISTER

BLOOMFIELD - YVONNE R. McALLISTER, age 88 of Bloomfield died August 27, 2007 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born icon January 24, 1919 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Vern and Cora Hartley Prosser. She married icon Robert E. McAllister March 1, 1939 in Agency, Iowa. He preceded her in death July 25, 1994. She had been a resident of Davis County since 1955 and was a homemaker. She was affiliated with the Davis Street Christian Church in Ottumwa.

She is survived by 3 sons Lloyd (Frances) McAllister of Riverton, Wyoming, Kenneth (Marjorie) McAllister of Pella, Iowa and John (Lois) McAllister of Bloomfield, Iowa; a daughter Kathleen (Dwayne) Canny of Ottumwa, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters Arlene Stanton of Creston, California and Madelene Applegate of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Robert E. McAllister, Jr.; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers Bernard and Gilbert Prosser and 4 sisters Adeline Brooks, Alora Dockstater, Verna McKinsey and Verla Allen.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday September 2, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Saturday. A memorial in lieu of flowers has been established to Hospice, Inc.
