Eldon R. Dvorak, 83, of Vinton, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services at 1 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Karl Glovik of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will officiate. Burial with military rites in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Saturday.
Survivors include his son Gary Dvorak and wife Joan of Cedar Rapids, grandchildren, Gary, Dara, Diamond, and Dakota, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers.
Eldon was born September 4, 1918 in Alburnett, Iowa, to Steven and Anna Ledvina Dvorak. He married Helen Barnes on February 15, 1941 in Iowa City. She died February 21, 1993. Eldon was a Senior Assistant Industrial Engineer for Collins Radio for over thirty years retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Vinton American Legion Post No. 57, and the Vinton Eagles Club. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, fabricating copper pictures, sporting events and was an avid Hawkeye Fan.
Instead of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Sandra Marie Kramer, 65, of 1021 33rd Street NE, died peacefully following a brief illness on Thursday, August 1, 2002, in her home. Services at 10 AM Saturday in St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the church after 9 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include her husband Bill, one daughter Kari Cerato and husband Joseph of Charleston, South Carolina, three sons Kelly Kirk, and Kris Kirk both of Cedar Rapids and Kevin Kirk and wife Tracey of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. Six grandchildren, Elise and Alexsandra both of Cedar Rapids, Spencer and Kate of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, and Joey and Peter of Charleston, South Carolina. Three sisters Audrey Relder and husband Edward of Garland, Texas, Yvonne Toft of Hayward, California, and Letitia Grassi and husband Ron of Coralville, Iowa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and dearest friends, Marilyn Jarrard, Rita and Denny Best, and Donna Tebbe and Kim. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kimetha Ann, her parents, three sisters and one brother.
Sandra was born August 13, 1936, in Harper Iowa to Ignatious and Leona Grimes Peiffer. She was raised and educated in Ottumwa, Iowa, and has lived in Cedar Rapids since 1960. She married Billy M. Kramer on March 4, 1966 in Cedar Rapids. Sandra has been employed with Rockwell Collins, Coralville since 1986. She was a member of IBEW Union 1634 and had served as Union Steward and Safety Representative. Sandra was instrumental with the implementation of ergonomics in the Coralville facility. She also spent time volunteering for many local organizations.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship fund for children of families affected by cancer is being established through IBEW 1634, Rockwell Collins Coralville Operations, 2855 Heartland Drive, Coralville, Iowa, 52241.

Robert W. Fisher
October 29, 1957 - August 10, 2002

Robert (Bob) Wallace Fisher, 44, of 2326 Upland Dr. SE died Sat. Aug. 10, 2002 at the Coralville Reservoir of an accidental drowning. Memorial services at 11 AM on Wed. at Christ Episcopal Church. Rev. Kenneth Ornell will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, three children, Nicholas Marc (12 yrs.), Anna Catherine (9yrs.) and Evan Michael (6 yrs.) all at home. His parents, Lawrence Wallace Fisher, (USMC, Col.. Ret.) and Esther Callahan Fisher of Lynchburg, Virginia, two sisters, Catherine Fisher Pelletier of Washington, D.C. and Beverly Fisher Miller of Weyers Cave, VA., his mother and father in law, Shelby H. and Thomas E. Boyce Sr. of Spartanburg, SC., brother in laws, Eric Miller, Roger Pelletier and Thomas E. Boyce Jr., five nieces, Lydon and Sydney Pelle
tier, Shannon Buckman, Jordan Miller and Meredith Boyce.
Bob was born on Oct.29, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church where he taught Sunday School Class and volunteered as the nursery coordinator. He was active in YMCA sports and was a youth soccer coach. He was an active PTA member at Monroe, Grant Wood Elementary and McKinley Middle Schools. He was employed at Duane Arnold Nuclear Center as a Nuclear Engineer. Bob was a wonderful husband, devoted father and a friend to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be given to the Fisher Children's Educational Fund, made payable to Smart 529.

Harriett E. DeMarce

Harriett E. DeMarce, 80, of 2020 Park Ave. SE died after a short illness on Sat. Aug. 10, 2002 at the Kingman Medical Center in Kingman, AZ., while visiting her daughter. Services at 1 PM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Heather Hayes will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wed. and at the Chapel after noon on Thursday.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Dean of Cedar Rapids, JoAnn Gorton of Kingman, AZ., and a son, M. Kenneth MeMarce and his wife Frances of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Christopher Stout.
Harriett was born on Oct. 12, 1921 in Chicago, ILL. the daughter of Arthur and Ethel Dies Nelson. She married Max, K. DeMarce on Jan. 1, 1943 in Kohoka, MO. He died in 1997. Harriett and her husband owned and operated Cedar Rapids Lock and Key for 30 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society in Harriett's name.

Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Monday.
Survivors include a daughter Debbie Hiles and husband Dudley of Cedar Rapids, two sons Steven Gunderson of Cedar Rapids, and Craig Gunderson of Lincoln, Nebraska, two brothers Richard and Donald Campbell both of Cedar Rapids, two grandchildren Katie and Colton Hiles, and best friend and caregiver Roxann Carnicle of Cedar Rapids, and special friend and caregiver Jim McMurray. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son David Gunderson.
Katherine was born December 6, 1945 in Cedar Rapids to Donald L. and Idell Moore Campbell. She worked in shipping and inventory for Coca Cola for 16 years retiring in 1991.
Instead of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Dayle D. Szabo, 68, of 915 Keyes Ct., Marion, died Sunday, August 18, 2002, in Mercy Medical Center following a short illness. Memorial services at 1 PM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Dave Lenth of Castalia, Iowa, will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday and at the chapel after noon on Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife Nadine, son Jason Szabo and fianc‚ Lynn Upchurch, and granddaughter Abby Szabo all of Cedar Rapids, five brothers Robert and Victor of Castalia, Edward of Decorah, and Eugene and Leon of Postville, a sister Dianne Buttenburg of Castalia, a brother-in-law Jerry Snitker and family of Hastings, Nebraska, a sister-in-law Mary Lynn Jenkins and family of Waukon, his mother-in-law Viola Snitker of Waukon, a special niece Dina Mottinger and husband Chris of Solon, and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Dayle was born November 7, 1933 in Castalia, Iowa to Steve and Laura Szabo. He married Nadine Snitker on June 1, 1957 in Minnesota. Dayle worked as a machinist at Collins Radio and Rockwell-Goss for 34 years retiring in 1996. He was a peacetime US Army Veteran, and loved to play golf and fish.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Robert R. Fernandez, 77, of 1905 Western Dr. SW died Friday Aug. 23, 2002 at his home after a long illness. Private family services were held at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, two sons, Wesley of Cedar Rapids, Robert Barker of Punta Gorda, FL., three daughters, Catherine Burgess and husband, Jim of Cedar Rapids, Priscilla Stamp of Loveland, Col., June Warren and husband, Bob of Cedar Rapids and two brothers and 8 sisters. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Bob was born on Aug. 14, 1925 in Cedar Rapids the son of David and Fanchon Bidell Fernandez. He married Ruth A. Hudepohl on Nov. 8, 1952 in Williamsburg. Bob was a millwright, master mechanic and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorial donations may be given to the Kidney Foundation in Bob's name.

Agnes M. Jacobson, 90, of Cottage Grove Place, formerly of Riverdale, ILL. died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002 at St. Lukes Hospital of pneumonia. Services at 2 PM on Sat. Aug. 31, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Rev. Alfred Kaupins will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the Church after 1 PM on Sat.
Survivors include her husband, Carl 'Len' and a daughter, Barbara Erickson and her husband, Alan of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by two grandsons, Ryan and David Erickson of Cedar Rapids and a cousin, Stanley Pihl, of Framingham, MA.
Agnes was born on Nov. 18, 1911 in Chicago, Ill. the daughter of Gustav and Josephine Roos Johnson. She graduated from Calumet High School and Moser Business College in Chicago, Ill. Agnes married Carl L. Jacobson on Oct. 1, 1949 in Chicago. She had a great love of music and was a choir member for many years. She was a secretary for the General Services Administration and later
worked with her husband in the family business, Beverly Metal Products, in the Chicago area before moving to Cedar Rapids in 1987. Agnes was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Quilters and Sarah Circles. Memorial donations may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Agnes' name.
