Donna J. Webb, 66, of Davenport, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Genesis East, Davenport.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at McGinnis, Chambers & Sass, Bettendorf. Burial is private. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.

She was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Illinois City to John and Roberta Beauchamp Duffield. She married Ruben Webb July 10, 1954, in Davenport.

Surviving are her husband; children, Julie Cavlovic, Davenport, and Mike Weber, Stockton, Iowa; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sister, Marion York, Bettendorf; and four brothers.

John Heider
John A. Heider, 77, Rock Island, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at home.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial is in Calvary cemetery , Rock Island.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Wheelan, Rock Island, with a rosary at 3:30. Memorials go to the church.

He was born and raised in Rock Island. He married Shirley Noll in 1954. She died in 1988.

He was a World War II Air Force veteran.

He was an electrical engineer.

Survivors are 10 children, six grandchildren, and a sister, Helen Hale, Davenport.

Chesley `Chet' Hengl
Chesley 'Chet' Hengl, 46, of Rock Island died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Pauline Woods
Pauline A. Woods, 86, of Rock Island died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Rock Island. Arrangements are pending at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Reithel Doerr
Reithel M. Doerr, 94, of Eureka, Ill., formerly of Moline, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Apostolic Christian Home, Eureka.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. The Rev. Dan Cole, First Baptist Church, Moline, will officiate. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park.

Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Fund.

The former Reithel Morley was born Dec. 3, 1908, in Table Grove, Ill., the daughter of Floyd and Byrd Plum Morley. She married Robert H. Doerr June 6, 1930, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He died Aug. 31, 1980.

She was a maid at El Rancho Motel, Davenport, for 20 years, retiring in 1993. She previously worked in the cafeteria at John Deere Junior High School, Moline.

Reithel is survived by five children and their spouses, Marlene and Loren Beaumont, Rock Island, Jerrold and Barbara Doerr, Green Valley, Ariz., Richard and Sharon Doerr, Peoria Heights, Ill., Charles and Susan Doerr, Independence, Mo., and Michael and Carolyn Doerr, Las Vegas, Nev.; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, LaMott Johnson, and a brother, Keith Morley.

Margaret Hokanson
Margaret Anna Maria Hokanson, 87, of Hillsboro, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at her home.

Services and burial will be held at a later date at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Edens Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is handling arrangements.

She was born July 20, 1937, in Moline, the daughter of Robert and Iris Strom Klingborg. Shortly after birth, her family moved to Cherokee County, Iowa, where she attended school. She later moved back to Moline, and she married Werner Hokanson March 27, 1937. He preceded her in death in April 1999.

Margaret continued living and working in Moline until her retirement. After retiring, she lived in Boca Raton, Fla., Gibson City, Ill., and finally in Hillsboro for the last seven years.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-laws, Beverly and Jerry Boyum, Hillsboro, and Janice and Joseph Lamacchia, St. Louis, Mo.; a grandson and wife, Jeffrey and Debbie Boyum, Hillsboro; a granddaughter and husband, Katrina and Paul Kothe, Waco, Texas, and their children, Sara and Samuel Kothe; a brother and sister-in-law, Rudolph and Dorothy Klingborg, Moline; a sister and brother-in-law, Linnea and Ed Boothby, Quinby, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Richard and John Klingborg; and sister, Karin Klingborg.

Keith Nelson
Keith F. Nelson, 82, of 2018 12th St., Moline, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis.

Visitation is 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be left with the family.

Keith F. Nelson was born Sept. 11, 1920, in Rock Island to Frank and Ethel Wallace Nelson. He married Mildred I. Smith April 5, 1942, in Rock Island.

He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II.

He was owner and founder of the former Midwest Typewriter Co., Moline, until 1968. Later he worked at Freiden Calculator, Dikon, and Barron Equipment, retiring in 1988.

Keith was a member of Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline, a 60-year member of Andalusia Masonic Lodge 518, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline, a former member and past president of the Moline Jaycees (and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award), past president of the Moline Optimist Club, and served on the Moline City Council, where he was chairman of the finance committee. Later he served on the Moline cemetery Board for over 20 years, including time as chairman. He was also a former member of the Moline Tip Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred I. Nelson, Moline; daughter (and spouse), Donna (Stephen) Gillespie, Milan; grandchildren, Erin Kennedy, Christopher Gillespie, Jennifer Cox and Mathew Gillespie; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and a brother, Albert Nelson.

Virginia Ross
Virginia Hill Ross, 87, of Moline died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, with visitation one hour before services. Further arrangements are pending.

Margaret Young
Margaret A. Young, 96, of Moline died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock island.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline.

Robert Purcell

Services for Robert E. Purcell, 71, of East Moline will be 10 a.m. Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens East Moline.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, Coal Valley, where he was a member.

Mr. Purcell died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 at his home.

Mr. Purcell was born Feb. 3, 1931, in Wood River, Ill., the son of William and Irene Slattery Purcell. He married Patricia Edwards Jan. 8, 1949, in Morganfield, Ky.

He retired from the former Clark Oil Co. in 1987 after 30 years of service.

He enjoyed camping. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Purcell, East Moline; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara DeGreve, Colona, and Connie and Rick Hoover, Rock Island; son and daughter-in-law, William and Chris Purcell, Las Vegas, Nev.; and grandchildren, Keith, Melissa, Matthew, Amanda 'Half-Pint, ' Jeffrey and Shane.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Colin DeGreve.

Alma Hampton

Alma Hampton, 69, Kewanee, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at OSF St. Mary's Medical Center, Galesburg.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic, Kewanee. Burial is in St. Anthony's cemetery , Atkinson. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at Rux, Kewanee, with an 8 p.m. rosary.

She was born Sept. 17, 1933. She married Donald Hampton in 1950.

Surviving are a son, Christopher, Monmouth; daughters, Donya Price and Sheila Willey, both of Kewanee, Shirlee Fritch, Huntington Beach, Calif., Sharon Jaques, Limon, Colo., and Glenda Wallace, Galva; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister.

Mildred Kadel
Mildred Kadel, 87, of Taylor Ridge died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Monday at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island, where further arrangements are pending.

Sadie Loughe

Sadie A. Loughe, 87, of Toulon (Ill.) Health Care Center, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at the center.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rux, Kewanee. Burial is in Pleasant View cemetery , Kewanee. Cremation rites were accorded.

She was born Jan. 28, 1915, in Burns Township, Henry County, Ill., the daughter of Reuben L. and Fannie Fell Trout.

She married Lawrence Reed in 1936. He preceded her in death. She then married Vernon Loughe in 1976. He died in 1991.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Kewanee.

Survivors are a son, Dan Reed, Dothan, Ala.; daughters, LaVonne Belisle, Chicago, Donna Tisl, Center Point, Iowa, and Carol Kelly, Eugene, Ore.; 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Norma `Butchie' Shannon
Norma 'Butchie' Shannon, 85, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at Columbia Hospice Hospital, West Palm Beach, after a short illness.

Cremation rites were accorded. Burial will be at a later date in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis.

She was born Feb. 1, 1917, to Oliver and Cora McGee Morrison. She married Richard Shannon Nov. 28, 1964.

She owned and operated Butchie's Beauty Shop, East Moline, for 35 years. She and her husband moved to West Palm Beach in 1985.

She was a member of the East Moline American Legion Auxiliary for 49 years.

Survivors include her husband, Richard, West Palm Beach.

Daniel Wayne
Daniel G. Wayne, 56, of Aledo died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. The Rev. John Thieryoung will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.

Friends and relatives may greet the family after the service at the parish hall. Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.

He was born July 5, 1946, in Chicago, a son of Chester S. and Genevieve Jung Wayne.

He graduated from St. Patrick's High School, Chicago, and was a member of the Notre Dame University graduating class of 1968. He attended MIT for postgraduate studies.

He married Edina 'Dee' Kraft Sept. 21, 1974, in Evansville, Ind.

Dan began his career as an engineer for the Naval Avionics Facility and later for VonDuprin Inc., both in Indianapolis, Ind. He then went to work for TRW, transferring to Peoria, Ill., where he supervised joint ventures between TRW and Caterpillar.

He helped form the Manufacturing Technology Consortium, a joint venture between Black Hawk College, Deere & Co., the Department of Defense and other entities. He ran this consortium from an office at the Rock Island Arsenal for several years until moving to Aledo in 1994.

He owned and operated two consulting firms in Aledo: the Center for Manufacturing and Regional Economic Development, and The Rural Development Initiatives, until his untimely death.

Dan was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, where he was a lector and eucharistic minister, and also made visits to the homebound.

He was a member of the Aledo Main Street Program, currently serving as vice president and a member of the board of directors. He was currently a member of the Aledo Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Economic Restructuring Committee, and technology coordinator for Community Unit School District 201, having implemented its technology plan.

He enjoyed reading, absorbing information, computer technology, cooking, and baking, and especially loved his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Dee; daughters and son-in-law, Shani and Tom Moushon, Joy, Ill., Elizabeth Wayne, Madison, Wis., and Sarah Wayne, Nagano, Japan; son, Michael Wayne, Decatur, Ill.; adopted daughters and husbands, Margaret and Larry Wilson and Rebecca and David Blankenship, all of Peoria; 10 grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Terese and Greg Smith, Alpharetta, Ga.; brother, Philip Wayne, Chicago; mother-in-law, June French, Aledo; and favorite cousin, Agnes Radzajewski, Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
