Jennie Lee Gallup

The Graveside Committal Service and Interment for Mrs. Jennie Lee Gallup, 87, will be 1:30 PM this afternoon at the Kossuth Cemetery in Mediapolis with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established to the Burlington Care Center.

Dorothy Sjeklocha

Dorothy M. Sjeklocha, 86, of Monmouth, Ill., formerly of Graettinger, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at Community Medical Center in Monmouth.

Born Aug. 29, 1918, in Graettinger, she was the daughter of Soren W. and Marie Mahan Duhn. On Nov. 13, 1943, she married Sam Sjeklocha in Des Moines.

Mrs. Sjeklocha worked at the Ordnance Plant in Ankeny during World War II. She then operated Dorothy's Beauty Shop in Graettinger for 40 years.

She was raised in and attended Graettinger schools and high school and attended Iowa Beauty School. She and her husband moved to Graettinger in 1946. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Graettinger and Catholic Daughters of America, where she served in various offices. She and her husband moved to Monmouth in September 2004.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Cathy Robinson of Cameron, Ill.; three grandchildren; one great–granddaughter; two sisters, Rosalie Hoyt of Milford and Betty Kane of Livermore, Calif.; two brothers, Raymond Duhn of Spirit Lake and Richard Duhn of Graettinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be Friday and Saturday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service Saturday.

The funeral for Mrs. Sjeklocha will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Turnbull Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Monclova officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Monmouth.

Memorials have been established for Monmouth Nursing Home and Immaculate Conception Church in Graettinger.

Glennys Loufek

Glennys E. Maly Loufek, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died at 11:13 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.

Born Sept. 17, 1916, in Cedar Rapids, she was the daughter of Eva Weed and George T. McHardy. On Sept. 1, 1937, she married Frank G. Maly. He died Oct. 2, 1992. On Oct. 3, 1993, she married Joseph Loufek. He died Jan. 2, 2003.

Mrs. Loufek was a legal secretary in the law firm of Johnson, Crissman and Lawrence and for many years worked for the Bever family in the office of Park Avenue Realty.

She was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Tuesday Study Club, Chapter IF PEO and the Czech Museum and Library. She enjoyed reading, bridge, dancing, fishing in Canada and travel. She loved helping children and appreciated the necessity of conservation.

Survivors include one daughter, JoEllen Hoth of Burlington; one son, Allan F. Maly of Basking Ridge, N.J.; one stepdaughter, Debra Kemp of Shoreview, Minn.; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and eight great–grandchildren.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.

The funeral for Mrs. Loufek will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chapel of Memories — Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery , with the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of the Cross.

A memorial has been established for St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

David Ryner

David Glenn Ryner, 36, of Burlington, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, in Danville.

Born Nov. 1, 1968, in Bur–lington, he was the son of Donald Lee and Theresa Joan Carroll Ryner.

Mr. Ryner worked for Federal Mogul for 17 years.

He was a 1987 graduate of Burlington High School. He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of Ducks Unlimited, was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include his mother of Burlington; three sisters, Katherine Wunderlich of Burlington, Renee Eddy of St. Louis and Deanna Nollett of Carson City, Nev.; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, one infant sister and grandparents.

Visitation will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Ryner will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Hoornstra officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Christoffer D. Penrod

The funeral service for Mr. Christoffer Damien Penrod, 14, who died Tuesday, December 21, 2004, will be today at 10:30 AM in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Brad Cranston will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery . A memorial has been established in Christoffer's memory.

Dena A. Burk

The funeral service for Mrs. Dena Alice Burk, 39, who died Wednesday, December 22, 2004, will be Tuesday, December 28th, a 2:00 PM in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. William Porter will officiate. Private family interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call after 8:00 AM on Tuesday, December 28th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service. A memorial has been established in Dena's memory.

Orvis DeLashmutt

The private memorial service for Mr. Orvis DeLashmutt, 55, who died Wednesday, December 22, 2004, will be at a later time. The body of Mr. DeLashmutt has been cremated. A memorial has been established.

Robert Renner

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Robert Anthony Renner, 78, who died Thursday, December 23, 2004, will be Tuesday, December 28th, at 10:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf will be the celebrant. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery . The Des Moines County Resurrection Choir will provide music. Friends may call after 8:00 AM today, in Lunning Chapel. The Rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM and a Christian Wake Service will be at 6:00 PM. The family will receive friends following the Christian Wake Service until 8:00 PM. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Vincent DePaul Society Food Pantry and Sts. John and Paul Catholic Church.

Jack Tuttle

Jack Glenn Tuttle, 60, of Morning Sun, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at the Morning Sun Care.

Born Aug. 5, 1943, in Monterey, Calif., he was the son of Maynard V. and Ann Stockton Tuttle. On June 1, 1985, he married Abby Giese in Morning Sun.

Mr. Tuttle was a professional entertainer and member of the Nolan and Tuttle Band. He also worked as an in–school suspension supervisor for the Winfield–Mount Union School.

He was a graduate of Mount Diablo High School in Concord, Calif., and a graduate of barber college. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Lacey Tuttle of Oakland, Calif.; two sons, Scott Tuttle of Clear Lake, Calif., and Dallas Tuttle at home; one granddaughter; and one sister, Jill Bardelli of Clear Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Yarmouth First Baptist Church.

The funeral for Mr. Tuttle will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Yarmouth, with John Tolander officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun.

A memorial has been established.

Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun is in charge of arrangements.

Gregory Anderson

Mr. Gregory Paul "Poppa" Anderson, 37, of Spring Hill, Tenn., died Sunday, Jan, 2, 2005, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tenn.

Born in Burlington, he was the son of Paul and Delores Anderson. On Aug. 8, 2003, he married Lindy Anderson in Spring Hill.

Mr. Anderson formerly worked and managed The Rent A Center in Fort Madison for eight years. He later worked as a sales representative with Best Buy in Cool Springs.

He was a graduate of Culver–Stockton College where he received his B.A. degree in history/political science. He enjoyed reading and history.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Hailey Elizabeth Waller of Spring Hill; one son, Zachary Dwayne Waller of Spring Hill; his parents; his grandmother, Mrs. Rosa Anderson of Burlington; three sisters, Barbara Homan of Pleasant Hill, Mo., Nancy Schultz of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Jenifer Anderson of Blue Springs, Mo.; one brother, Peter Anderson of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and any time Thursday at Spring Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home.

The memorial service for Mr. Anderson will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Taylor officiating.

A memorial has been established.

Frederic C. Bohlken

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Frederic Charles Bohlken, 73, who passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2005, are pending at the Hass–Thielen Funeral Home.

Jody Grover

Jody Lynne Grover, 37, of Mediapolis died Monday Jan. 31, 2005, at her home.

Born Feb. 20, 1967, in Bozeman, Mont., she was the daughter of Dean and Joan Meeker Randall. On Jan. 12, 1993, she married Scott Grover in Las Vegas.

Mrs. Grover was a registered nurse. She worked for Prairie Ridge Care Center in Mediapolis and Morning Sun Care Center. More recently she worked for Louisa County Public Health. Earlier she worked at Heatilator in Mount Pleasant for several years.

She was a 1985 graduate of Mediapolis High School. She received her registered nurse degree from Southeastern Community College at West Burlington. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mediapolis. She enjoyed bowling, motorcycling, playing cards, computer work and teddy bears.

Survivors include one brother, Jason Randall of Apple Valley, Minn.; nieces and nephews; and 12 half brothers and sisters, including Jim Graham and John Graham, both of Cedar Rapids, and Sheryl Maish of Mediapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one half brother.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis.

The funeral for Mrs. Grover will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Mediapolis, with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Mediapolis First United Methodist Church.

Hans Jedlicka

Hans Jedlicka, 94, of Fort Madison, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Montrose Health Center.

Born March 9, 1909, in Swakopmund, South Africa, he was the son of Johan and Marie Schenko Jedlicka. On Nov. 25, 1937, he married Anna M. Janik in Westmont, Ill.

Mr. Jedlicka owned and operated the Engrave Company in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife of Fort Madison; one daughter, Christine Hecht of Fort Madison; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, three sisters and one brother.

A private graveside service for Mr. Jedlicka will be at a later date in Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Clarendon Hills, Ill. His body has been cremated.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory. Contributions can be left at King–Lynk Funeral Home or sent to his daughter, Christine Hecht, at 215 Crescent Lane, Fort Madison, Iowa 52627.

King–Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison is in charge of arrangements.
