Elmer John Jordan, 88, Pleasantville
Elmer John Jordan, 88, of Pleasantville, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at his home. Funeral services were March 15 at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville. Burial was at Lincoln Cemetery in Marion County.
Mr. Jordan was born
June 9, 1917, near Knoxville, the son of John and Retha (Holton) Jordan. He attended Lincoln Country School. He married Echo LaVaughn Hukill in 1942. He raised livestock farmed most of his life and welded in the shipyards of California during World War II. He lived on farms near Knoxville and Melcher until he moved in 1949 to a farm in Warren County. He attended the Church of Christ in Pleasantville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Echo; a sister, Ruby Newton; and brothers, Marion and Clarence.
Survivors include his daughter, Frances Milledge of Knoxville; sons, John of Knoxville and James of Eldon; nine grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.

Harold J. Kaldenberg, 80, New Virginia
Harold J. Kaldenberg, 80, died March 15, 2006, at Mercy hospital in Des Moines. Services were March 18 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in the Liberty Center Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Flossie of New Virginia; children, Sandra Thomas of Welch, Okla., Carol Perry of Indianola, Terri Graham of Milo, Joyce Parce of Olympia, Wash., Delbert of Indianola, Judy Neudecker of Rosemount, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren; a brother, Jim Kaldenberg of Indianola; and a sister, Darlene Rodgers of Liberty Center.

Guyola Langebartels, 83, Melcher - Dallas
Guyola Langebartels, 83, of Melcher - Dallas, died Saturday, March 11, 2006. Funeral services were March 15, at St. John Lutheran Church in Melcher - Dallas. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery in Lacona.
Mrs. Langebartels was born
October 5, 1922, at home in Dallas, the daughter of John and Icyle (Boozell) Dhabalt. She married Earnie John Langebartels on Oct. 3, 1948.
She was a member of Ladies Aid, a Sunday school and vacation Bible schoolteacher and baby - sat. She liked sports and enjoyed playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step - father, Paul Bote; brothers, Irven “Doc”, Johnnie, Frank, Freddy, Jerry and Harold; and sisters, Verna Zoutte, Mary Oliver, Judy Willoughby and Bell Bingham.
Survivors include her husband, Earnie; children, Mary Moon of Melcher - Dallas, Henry and Judy Dittmer, both of rural Lacona; 13 grandchildren; 12 great - grandchildren; a brother Leonard Dhabalt of Burlington.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa and St. John or St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Nicholas Kacere, 84, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday, October 28, 2006 at St. Luke’s Living Center East. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Services will be private.
Nick was born
July 8, 1922, the son of George and Amlia Ayash Kacere. He is survived by his brother Louis Kacere; two nephews Scott (Julie) Kacere and Louis Jr. (Mary) Kacere; and 4 great nephews.
Nick was preceded into death by his parents; brothers Albert and Michael Kacere; and his sister Bertha Meyers.

Houser, Otto John
Cemetery: St. Patrick's and St. Paul's Cemetery ~ Watkins
Otto John Houser, 86 of Newhall, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Amana, where he had been a resident since December 2005. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Newhall. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s and St. Paul’s Cemetery in Watkins. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Friday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids where there will be a 7 pm rosary. Visitation will also be an hour prior to services Saturday at the Church.
Otto was born
April 9, 1920 in Walford, the son of Frank F. and Rose A. (Buchtela) Houser. He married Caroyl Roseberry June 28, 1945 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Newhall. He was employed by Spahn and Rose Lumber Co. in Newhall before working at South Side Sash and Door in Cedar Rapids. He was a co-founder of Houser Bros. Plumbing and Electric in Newhall where he worked for many years. Otto retired to pursue his woodworking hobby in 1982.
Otto is survived by his wife of 61 years, Caroyl Houser; two sons Kenneth (Kathy) of Watkins and Douglas (Sheryl) of North Liberty; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 3 brothers Francis (Kate) of Cedar Rapids, Leonard (Beth) and Lumir (Pat) both of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters Rosemary (Lloyd) Maresh and Rita (Otis) Sebastian both of Newhall.
He was preceded into death by his parents.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.

William George Walter Jr., 66 of 415 C Avenue NW died Friday, November 3, 2006 at his home from complications of cancer. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow in Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
William was born
February 10, 1940 in Iowa City, the son of William Sr. and Mary Pilcher Walter. Bill lived in California and Las Vegas for many years. He had a real passion for flying and electronics. He earned his private pilot license and could work on all sorts of electronics.
Bill is survived by his son William Walter III of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a daughter Linda Welp of Marion; his mother Mary of Cedar Rapids; a sister Karen (David) Kroeger and nephews David, Eric and Andy Kroeger all of Marion. He was preceded in death by his father.

Stejskal, George

George Stejskal, 86, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday evening, November 11, 2006 in his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Bill Harnish presiding. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids and for an hour prior to services on Wednesday.
George was born
February 24, 1920 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Josef and Agnes Horusicka Stejskal. He married Vernita J. Lnenicka on February 25, 1941 in Cedar Rapids. George served as a Corporal in the Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He then retired from Farmstead in 1983. George belonged to the VFW Post 788. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing the accordion.
George is survived by his wife Vernita of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Lana Jean Stejskal (Dennis) Cobb of Solon; two grandsons Brian D. Cobb and Todd J. Cobb; a sister Dorothy Kiracofe; and special friends Sandy Williams and Bruce Jones.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Godfrey Stejskal and Joe Stejskal; and sisters Ann Tecknik and Martha Marak.

Klouda, Donald George
Cemetery: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery
Donald G. Klouda, 71 of 1101 Hwy 1 NE, died Monday, November 27 at his home from a sudden illness. Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. David Wilkening presiding. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Donald was born
April 27, 1935 in Solon, the son of Matthew and Tillie (Sonka) Klouda. Don graduated from the Stone Academy and from Solon High School. He served in the National Guard. Don farmed his entire life in the Solon area. He married Darlene Kessler on July 7, 1959 at St. Bridget’s Church, Nolan Settlement. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Farm Bureau. Don enjoyed parades, old cars, and his 1936 John Deere A tractor. He was a proud participant in many Tractorcades. He liked playing cards where he was a member of a local card club for over 35 years. He enjoyed playing the drums, dancing and singing. Don lived for his family, farming, his cattle, and especially his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his wife Darlene; a son DeWayne (Marianne) Klouda; a daughter Diane (Robin) Siddell all of Solon; four grandchildren: Holly Klouda, Andrew Klouda, Rory Siddell, and Carissa Siddell, as well as several nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brother Vernon Klouda; and a sister Marie Klouda Hotz.

Haas, Patricia Ann

Patricia Ann (Pearson) Haas, 75 of Cedar Rapids died of a short illness on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2006 at First Lutheran Church (1000 3rd Avenue SE) in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, and for an hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery.
Patricia was born
February 6, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Adrian and Katherine (Blessing) Pearson. She married Donald Haas on December 9, 1967. Patricia retired from Wilson’s/Farmstead after working there many years. She was also a waitress at the Flame Room and most recently at the Longbranch. Patricia was a member of First Lutheran Church, a former union member of the Local P-3 and former member of the Eagles Club. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center and was a Patient’s Rights Advocate of Living Center East. She enjoyed reading novels and taking trips to Nevada to gamble.
Pat is survived by her two sons Michael (Karren) Smith of Hiawatha, and Eugene “Pete” (Carolyn) Smith of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother John (Mary) Pearson of Cedar Rapids; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded into death by her parents; her husbands; brother Thomas A. Pearson; sister Kay Williams Behm; and a step-granddaughter Tina Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy and/or American Cancer Association.
