CLINTON, Iowa -- Mildred G. Thor, formerly of 422 1/2 4th Ave. S., Clinton, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Samaritan Hospital North, Clinton. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery , Clinton. Mrs. Thor had worked in the administration office at DuPont Co., Richland, Wash. Mildred Erickson was born Nov. 1, 1907, in Greenville, Ill. She married Magnus Thor in 1926 in South Beloit, Ill. They ran a resort near Rhinelander, Wis., from 1954 to 1969. He died in 1987. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Survivors include nieces and nephews, including Beverly Havens, Morrison, Ill., and Marilyn Lockard, Clinton.

Lyle Kemmis
GENESEO, Ill. -- Services for Lyle D. Kemmis, of Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Geneseo, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery , Geneseo. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Wright Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. Mr. Kemmis died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Summit Hospital, Tucson, Ariz. He had owned and operated Ace Hardware Store, Geneseo, for 18 years. He retired in 1983. He also raised purebred angus cattle. He was born Jan. 3, 1928, in rural Prophetstown. He married Marilyn Combs in 1945 in Geneseo. She died in 1990. Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Student Air Fund or Giving Tree Project of Geneseo Junior Women's Club. Survivors include a daughter, Lyn Teerlinck, Geneseo; a son, Sid, Prophetstown; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mabel Buysse, Atkinson, and Lenora Prichard, Geneseo; and a brother, Frank, Prophetstown.

Linnie Finley
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Linnie A. Finley, of 2421 Lutheran Dr., will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Finley died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Community Health Resources. Linnie Mills was born Nov. 1, 1903, in Nichols. She married Clarence Finley in 1923 in Muscatine. They had farmed near the Bayfield area. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Lisle, Haynes City, Fla.; sons, James D., Muscatine, and Theodore D., Coal Valley, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Henrietta Schroeder
DAVENPORT -- Services for Henrietta "Etta" Schroeder, of Davenport, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Mrs. Schroeder died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at her home. She was born on May 25, 1931, in Davenport, the daughter of Henry A. and Sylvia (Krejci) Bormann. She married Robert William Schroeder, a well-known Quad-City building contractor on Sept. 9, 1950, in Davenport. He died Aug. 28, 1996. Etta graduated from Davenport High School in 1949. She was the President of Schroeder Home Builders Inc. of Davenport, which was a family-owned business that she and her husband operated. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, charter member of the Davenport Does 217 and a member of Women Moose Organization, Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club and the Captain's Club of The President Riverboat. Etta was active on the West Boosters Club when her children attended there. She was a Den mother, enjoyed bowling with the family, liked to dance and loved family gatherings. She was a Cardinals and Hawkeyes fan. She loved her dogs, Midnight Sherrie and Brandee. She was an active slot machine player on the river boats. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Greg Arp, Penny and Bill Dressler, a daughter-in-law, Sue Schroeder, and grandchildren, Laura and Christopher Arp and Erica and Jonathan Schroeder, all of Davenport; sisters, Mary Gayman and Gerri Jones, both of Davenport, and Gayle Meier, Cedar Park, Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy and Evelyn Porter and Bill and Myra Schroeder, all of Davenport; and several nieces and two nephews. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport, or Genesis Visiting Nurses Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; her son, Rick Schroeder, on Jan. 2, 1995; and her two dogs.

Fred Zousel
SOLON, Iowa -- Services for Fred E. Zousel, of Solon, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery , West Branch, with military services. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Zousel died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, after a brief illness. He owned and operated Fred's Chevrolet-Olds, from 1965 to 1981, and was a self-employed heavy equipment operator. He was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Cedar County. Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous. Survivors include a sister, Violet "Vi" Donohoe and a brother, Charles Jr., both of West Branch.

Edgar Scheeper
LOWDEN, Iowa -- Edgar H. Scheeper, of Lowden, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, after a brief illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery , Lowden. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence. Mr. Scheeper was a retired farmer. He was born Oct. 21, 1914, in Lowden. He married Evelyn Burmeister in 1938 in Lowden. She died in 1996. Survivors include sons, Marnell and Robert, both of Lowden; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Olga Kohnert, Lowden; and brothers, John, Memphis, Mo., LeRoy, Davenport, and Gerhardt, Calamus.

Augusta Raymond
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Augusta "Goldie" Raymond, of Silvis, Ill., formerly of East Moline, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, where she was a member. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a liturgy service will be recited at 7 p.m. Mrs. Raymond died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at her home. Goldie had worked at the former Licorice Factory and American Air Filter, both of Moline, and John Deere Malleable, East Moline. Augusta Claeys was born Oct. 9, 1911, in Dentergen, Belgium, to Camiel and Elisa "Meetie" (De Smet) Claeys. She married Joe Raymond Sr. on Nov. 26, 1932, in Chicago. He died Aug. 8, 1987. Mrs. Raymond was a member of East End Bolders Club, Moline. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Joann and Chuck Daniels, Hampton, Ill., and Mary Lou and Dr. Edward Kean, East Moline; a son, Ronald Raymond, Silvis; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Raymond Jr.

Tommie Williams
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Tommie "TJ" Williams, of East Moline, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Mr. Williams died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. He was a union stewart and member of United Auto Workers Local 1309. During World War II, he served in the Navy. He was born Aug. 12, 1923, in Arkadelphia, Ark. He married Minnie Williams in 1944 in Arkadelphia. She died in 1981. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include daughters, Debra Moore and Cynthia Green, both of Moline; a son, Steve, East Moline; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dall, Rock Island.

Rose Mettler
DAVENPORT -- Services for Rose C. Mettler, of Davenport, will be noon May 1 at Elmwood Cemetery , Mason City, Iowa. The body was cremated. Mrs. Mettler died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Crest Health Center, Davenport. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Rose Day was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Wichita, Kan. He married James Mettler in 1945 in Mason City. Survivors include her husband; a son, Bruce, Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and brothers, Loran Day Jr., Davenport, and Lawrence Day, Manhasset, N.Y.

Raymond McIntyre
WAPELLO, Iowa -- Services for Raymond C. "Bud" McIntyre, of rural Wapello, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery , rural Wapello. Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. today at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello Mr. McIntyre died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. He had farmed and was employed for many years as a janitor at Fairview Church. He was born March 2, 1916, at Goodell. He married Josephine Hunt in 1938 in Morning Sun. Memorials may be made to Wapello Community Ambulance Service and Oakville First Responders. Survivors include his wife; sons, Dwight, Mediapolis, and Rome, Peoria, Ill.; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Faye and Gertie Cassabaum, both of Mediapolis; and a brother, Leland, Wapello.

James Collins
WEBSTER, Fla. -- James A. Collins, of Webster, formerly of Rock Island, died Monday, April 19, 1999, in Florida. Services and burial will be Friday in Florida. Mr. Collins was employed as a master mechanics at Harley Davidson of Ocala. He was born May 5, 1958, in El Paso, Texas. He graduated in 1976 from Rock Island High School and graduated from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, Orlando, Fla., with the highest grades in the history of the school. Memorials may be made to the family, P.O. Box 771, Bushnel, FL 33513. Survivors include his wife, Deb, his baby, Jamie Lee, twin stepdaughters, Sabrina and Krystal Piacetelli, and a stepson, John Bennett, all of Bushnel; his mother, Annette Miranda, Milan, Ill.; his father and stepmother, James and Geraldine Collins, Taylor Ridge, Ill.; and brothers, John Collins, Kankakee, Ill., Robert Miranda, Milan, and Richard Miranda, Rock Island.

Dawn McDonnell
BETTENDORF -- Dawn R. McDonnell, of Bettendorf, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at her home. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. No funeral will be held. Dawn Gerlach was born May 11, 1964, in Norfolk, Va. She married William McDonnell III in 1995 in Davenport. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Elizabeth and René, both of Galesburg, Ill.; her mother and stepfather, Joan and Phil Streit, Norfolk; and sisters, Tonya and Susan, and a brother, Timothy, all of Virginia Beach, Va.

Charles Shuh
SILVIS, Ill. -- Charles W. Shuh, of Silvis, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Family Funeral Services, Colona, formerly Fairman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dayton Corners Cemetery , Colona, with military services by American Legion Post 1233, Colona. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Shuh had worked more than 30 years at John Deere Works, East Moline. He was born Aug. 15, 1908, in Colona. He married Shirley Adams in 1959 in Cambridge. During World War II, he served in the Navy. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 1233 or Colona Fire Department. Survivors include stepdaughters, Yvonne Porschke, Colona, Sharon Shinn, Andover, Barbara Eutsler, Rock Island, and Dianna VanWinkle, East Moline; a stepson, Peter Couco, Twanda; 15 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elsbeth Jensen, Miami.

Bettie Morris
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Bettie Morris, of Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, Ill., formerly of Rock Island, will be noon today at Olivet Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation is 11 a.m. to noon today at the church. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery , Rock Island. Mrs. Morris died Monday, April 19, 1999, at the home. Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements. She was retired from Dayton's Department Store, Minneapolis. Bettie Young was born April 4, 1900, in Roanoke, Mo. Survivors include a son, Mark Hart, Mesa, Ariz.; and a grandson.

Terry Hand
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for Terry L. Hand, of Kewanee, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery , Kewanee. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hand died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at her home, after an extended illness. She was employed as a case worker for the Illinois Department of Human Resources in Kewanee. Terry Pollard was born Jan. 10, 1952, in Galesburg. She married Michael "Mickey" Hand in 1984 in St. Petersburg, Fla. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Shannon Grieves and Michelle Hand, both of Kewanee; a son, Christopher Ewing, Decatur; a grandchild; her mother, Ruth Pollard, Galesburg; sisters, Pamela Pollard, Jacksonville, and Peggy Williamson, Heyworth; and brothers, William Pollard, Shiloh, and David Pollard, Summerfield.

Leonard Rolling
CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Leonard H. Rolling, of Thornton, Colo., formerly of Clinton, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory where a 5 p.m. vigil service will be conducted. Mr. Rolling died Thursday, April 15, 1999, in Northglenn, Colo. He was employed as a cost accountant with Nibisco Foods, Clinton, for many years. He was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Clinton. He married Dorothy Jordan in 1942 in Clinton. She died in 1988. During WWII, he served in the United States Army Air Corp. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Survivors include daughters, Gloria Koepp, Thornton, Norma Schlotfeldt, Colorado Springs, Cheryl Hentz, Tucson, Ariz.; sons, Dennis, Denver, Colo., Michael, Tucson, and Paul, Clinton; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Bartels, and Marilyn Rolling, both of Clinton; and brothers, Robert, Clinton, Duane, of Laurel, Md., and Vern, Davenport.

Frieda Lykam
CASA GRANDE, ARIZ. -- Services for Frieda Lykam, formerly of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. today at Davenport Memorial Park. Runge Mortuary and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lykam died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Desert Valley Care Center, Casa Grande. She had worked as an office manager for Eastman-Kodak. Frieda was born Sept. 3, 1907, in Davenport. She marred George Lykam in 1940. He died in 1963. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Alphonsus Church or School. Survivors include a sister, Wilma Whaley, Casa Grande; a brother, Paul Meier, East Moline; and one grandson.

Robert Kislia
DAVENPORT -- Robert D. Kislia, of Davenport, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park. He had worked in maintenance at John Deere Works for 11 years, retiring in 1989. He had previously worked in laundry and dry cleaning for 30 years. He was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Iowa Falls. He married Joyce Erling in 1961 in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Teri Swartzendruber, Andover, Minn., and Cindy Glunz, Watkins, Iowa; a son, Steve, Redding, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
