NORFOLK, Neb. -- Services for Mary L. Smith, of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery . Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Howser-Fillmer Mortuary, Norfolk. Mrs. Smith died April 1, 1999, at her home. She was born Jan. 15, 1903, in Anthon, Iowa. She married Carl Smith in 1920 at Didsbury, Alberta, Canada. They lived in Olds until 1930, when they moved to Norfolk. In 1943, they moved to Davenport where she worked at Parker's department store doing alterations. She began her own alternation business in 1959. In 1962, they moved back to Norfolk for health reasons to live with her daughter. Mr. Smith died in 1963. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk. Survivors include daughters, Elaine Jeffrey and Eva Langemeier, both of Norfolk, Deloris Bohuslavsky, David City, and Mary Schick, Davenport; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Norma Fiedler, Davenport, and Leola Hamilton, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.

Gladyce McMillan
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Gladyce L. McMillan, of 1209 21st Ave., will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Rock Island. Entombment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park mausoleum. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Monday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Mrs. McMillan died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at her home. She was employed 18 years as the secretary to Virgil Helms and Lyle Forward, in the Assistant Superintendent's Office for Business and Property, Rock Island Board of Education. She retired in 1979. Gladyce Pedersen was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Crookston, Neb., to Henry and Blanche (Green) Pedersen. She married James McMillan on Nov. 17, 1939, in Davenport. She graduated from Chillicothe (Mo.) Business College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Rock Island, where she was a member of the Women's Society, Naomi Circle and with her husband taught Sunday school for 23 years. She also was member of Rock Island Women's Club; Davendeavors; Iowian State Club, of which she was past president; National Contest Association; and Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club. Her special interests and hobbies included contesting, decorating and craft work. She was known in the area for making unique family Heirloom books. She enjoyed being with her many friends and her family, especially her devoted husband of 59 years. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association Mississippi Valley Chapter. Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Donita and Alfred Grell, Milan, Ill.; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Vicki McMillan, Moline; grandchildren, Mitchell McMillan, Celeste, Texas, Beth Evans and Bradley McMillan, both of Peoria, and Laura Grell, White Bear Lake, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Wesley, Anna, John and Seth McMillan, all of Celeste, Andrew and Sarah McMillan, both of Peoria; a special sister-in-law, Tacye Pedersen; and a cousin, Claudine Hindman. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Homer and Weldon Pedersen; and an infant sister.

Betty Deyo
ROCK ISLAND -- Betty L. Deyo, of Rock Island, died Friday, April 2, 1999, at her home. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East. Moline. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In early years, Mrs. Deyo worked at the former First National Bank of Rock Island and later at Ted's Boatarama, Rock Island. Betty Ellinwood was born July 20, 1924, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She married Frank Deyo in 1946 in Rock Island. He died in 1979. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Center for Breast Cancer Research. Survivors include a daughter, Diane Nagel, Aurora, Ill.; two granddaughters; and a brother, Orville Ellinwood, Rock Island.

Lester Belha
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Lester Belha, of East Moline, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Grove Hill Cemetery , Morrison, Ill. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary, East Moline, with a 7:30 p.m. liturgy service. Mr. Belha died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. He worked at International Harvester Farmall Works, Rock Island, Periberthy Manufacturing, Prophetstown, and farmed for 18 years. He retired in 1975. He was born July 5, 1911, in Chicago. He married Anna Minssen. She died in 1986. He married Pauline Cant in 1987 in East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Anne's Church or the American Cancer Society. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Bonnie Kepner, Walnut, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Karen Lundon, Lanexa, Kan.; sons Carl, Oregon, Ill., and Douglas, Morrison; a stepson, Gary Cant, East Moline; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pamela Collis
HAMPTON, Ill. -- Services for Pamela J. Jones Collis, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Mrs. Collis died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. She was a student advisor at Blackhawk College, Moline. Pamela Collis was born June 11, 1958, in Berwyn, Ill. She married William Jones in 1976 in Colona. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include sons Rocky, Colona, and Joseph, Hampton; her father, Darrell Collis Sr., Colona; a sister, Cindy McDaniel, Colona; and a brother, Darrell Jr.

Gay Wright
MORNING SUN, Iowa -- Services for Gay W. Wright, will be 10:30 a.m. today at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery , Morning Sun. Mr. Wright died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Morning Sun Care Center. He was owner operator of a field tile ditching and Caterpillar business and of tent roller rings centers in Morning Sun and Columbus Junction. He sold his businesses and worked at JI Case Company, Burlington, and Burlington Medical Center, until retiring in 1978. He was born Oct. 19, 1905, in Morning Sun. He married Mary Mildred Springsteen in 1930. She died in 1986. He married Mary Walsinger in 1990 in Wapello. She died in 1997. Memorials may be made to the Old Threshers Reunion. Survivors include daughters, Phyllis Stineman, Grandview, Karen Hollingsworth, Mediapolis, and Ruth Oetken, St. Marys, Pa.; a son Edward, Morning Sun; sisters Frances Thomas, Morning Sun and Jane Jones, Iowa City; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Burke
DAVENPORT -- Services for Dorothy H. Burke, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday, with a rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Miss Burke died Friday, April 2, 1999, at her home. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Fun-eral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. She was employed 21 years as a secretary to the principal at Garfield School, Davenport. She retired in 1965. She was born Feb. 7, 1904, in DeWitt, Iowa, to Thomas J. and Margaret Ellen (Carroll) Burke. She attended Immaculate Conception Academy, Davenport, and received her bachelor of arts degree in art from the University of Iowa in 1926. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church since 1929 and Daughters of Isabella. Memorials may be made to the Carmelite Monastery, Eldridge, Iowa, or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors include her nieces, Valeria Van Soelen and Constance Boggs, both of Santa Fe, N.M., and Barbara Thompson, East Fallowfield, Pa.; second cousins, Margaret Kedley, DeWitt, Iowa, and Janice Reynolds, Eleanor Blunk and John Goodall, all of Davenport; three nieces and grandnieces; and a dear friend and caregiver, Colleen Jensen, Silvis, Ill. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Burke, Sept. 6, 1993; and a nephew, Thomas E. Burke, April 22, 1994.

Dorothy Baehnk
BLUE GRASS, Iowa -- Services for Dorothy A. Baehnk, formerly of Blue Grass, will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Mrs. Baehnk died Friday, April 2, at Grandview Terrace Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Davenport, to Anthony and Anna (Johnson) Doyle. Dorothy Willamson married Henry Baehnk on Dec. 23, 1933, in Davenport. He died Oct. 6, 1991. She was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Academy and attended American Institute of Commerce. She was a member of Blue Grass Presbyterian Church, Kaaba Shrine Widows, Daughters of the Nile, White Shrine, Davenport Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Amaranth, Stockton Royal Neighbors, Blue Grass Lioness Club and Women of the Moose. Memorials may be made to Blue Grass Presbyterian Church. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Dean Wagner.

Robert Corley
SILVIS, Ill. -- Services for Robert E. Corley, of 1309 1st St., Silvis, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery . Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the mortuary. Mr. Corley died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. He retired in 1991 after 25 years at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. He also worked 16 years at the former Rock Island Railroad, Silvis. He was born May 29, 1926, in Blue Mountain, Ark. He married Claudie Cates in 1946 in Dardenelle, Ark. During World War II he served in the Army. Memorials may be made to Moline Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dr. Diana Corley Schnapp; sisters Beulah Spencer and Lorine Robinson, both of Havana, Ark, Mayvelle Bell, Marked Tree, Ark., and Virginia Layman, Tyronza, Ark.; and brothers, John and Oliver, both of Havana, Ark.

Darlene Speakman
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for Darlene Speakman, of Kewanee, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Schueneman-Tumbleman Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens, rural Kewanee. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Speakman died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Kewanee Care Home. She was employed 10 years as a nurse's aide at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Darlene Brittingham was born June 21, 1913, in Wyoming, Ill. She married Orley "Red" Speakman in 1932 in Circleville, Ohio. They followed the coal mines. He died in 1973. Survivors include daughters, Joyce Hasbrook, Sheffield, and Jo Ann Jennes, East Moline; sons, Luther S. and spouse Anna, Kewanee, with whom she resided, and Richard L., Tulsa, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Harry Peterson Sr.
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for Harry A. Peterson Sr., of Kewanee, will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kewanee. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery , Kewanee. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Peterson died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Kewanee Care Home. He retired in 1967 as a foreman after 40 years at Kewanee Boiler Co. He was born July 9, 1902, in Kewanee. He married Mary Packee on 1921. Memorials may be made to the church or Kewanee Senior Citizens Center. Survivors include his wife; sons, Robert C. "Cub," Northridge, Calif., and Harry A. Jr., San Pedro, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Virgil Hartman Sr.
FULTON, Ill. -- Services for Virgil Hartman Sr., of 503 8th St., will be 2 p.m. Monday at Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery , Morrison. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Hartman died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Samaritan Hospital North, Clinton, Iowa. He was employed 19 years as a machine operator at the former Agrico Chemical Co., Fulton, and then worked at International Harvester, East Moline. He was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Thomson. He married Dorothy Snyder in 1948 in Morrison. She died in 1983. During World War II, he served in the Army. He received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include daughters, Deborah Zancho, Hawthorn Woods, Susan Jones, Sterling, Sonia Hook and Dawn Ward, both of Fulton, and Kristi Choate, Glen Ellyn; sons, Tom, Virgil Jr., Douglas, and Gary, all of Fulton, John, Clinton, and Randy, Davenport; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Ven Huizen and Luella Garrison, both of Clinton, Helen Kramer, Sterling, Betty Notz, Savanna, and Darlene Vos, Morrison; and brothers, Arnold and Norman, both of Fulton, and Norris, Mount Carroll.

Dale Jackson
CAMANCHE, Iowa -- Services for Dale R. Jackson, of Camanche and Davenport, will be noon Tuesday at Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery , Camanche. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Jackson died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. He had owned the Fishbowl Tavern in Camanche and was employed as a postal worker and brakeman on the railroad, both in Savanna. He was born Feb. 15, 1942, in Green Island. He married Juanita Sterbenz in 1963 in Savanna, Ill. She died in 1992. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include daughters, Ginger Jackson, Davenport, and Angela Ahrens, Folletts; sons, Joseph, Sterling, Ill., and Brian, Clinton; grandchildren; brothers, Delbert, Bellevue, Arnie, Green Island, David, of Kentucky, Ernie, of Illinois, and Mike, of California; and a special friend, Patricia Kinkaid, Camanche.

William Clark
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for William L. "Joe" Clark, of Kewanee, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery , with military services by Kewanee Veterans Council. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Clark died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Kewanee Hospital. He retired in 1983 as a machinist at John Deere Harvester Works. He also was a union steward. He was born June 30, 1918, in Beardstown. He married Delores Marquez in 1953 in Peoria. During World War II, he served with the Navy in the Pacific Theater. Memorials may be made to Kewanee Hospice Hospice Unit. Survivors include his wife; sons, Donald "Poncho," Geneseo, and David, of Missouri; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Barbara Tinker, East Moline; and brothers, Dick, Kewanee, and Ronnie, Wilmington, Del.

Amos Sisson
EAST MOLINE -- Amos L. Sisson, of East Moline, died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis, Ill. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Cambridge, Ill. Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery , Cambridge. Mr. Sisson retired in 1978 after 34 years at John Deere Harvester, East Moline. He was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Cambridge. He married Rosemarie Moulton in 1947 in Kewanee. During World War II, he served in the Army. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include his wife; sons, Jerry Sisson, Geneseo, and Bill Howell, Cleveland, Ga.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Palm, Altona.

Armella Clasen
SPRINGBROOK, Iowa -- Armella T. Clasen, of 119 E. Main St., died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Armella Tebbe was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Springbrook. She married Lawrence Clasen in 1937 in Springbrook. They farmed until 1970 east of Springbrook. He died in 1989. Survivors include daughters, Janis Steines and Kathy Zeimet, both of Springbrook, and Bonnie Grossman, Preston; sons, Larry and Robert, both of Springbrook; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosella Sullivan, Bellevue, Lavita Budde, Preston, and Regina Clasen and Rosemary Dondlinger, both of Springbrook; and brothers, Elmer and Alfred Sr., both of Springbrook, Oliver Tebbe, Bellevue, John Tebbe, Maquoketa, and Richard and Sylvester Tebbe, both of Preston.

Roy De Fauw
GENESEO, Ill. -- Services for Roy L. De Fauw, of rural Geneseo, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo. Burial will be in Edford Township Cemetery . Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo, with a wake service at 8:30 p.m. Mr. De Fauw died Friday, April 2, 1999, on his farm in Edford Township. He had farmed in the Geneseo area. He was born July 21, 1936, in Cornwall Township, Henry County. He married Joyce Freeman in 1963 in Geneseo. He served in the Army, 1959-62. Memorials may be made to Roy De Fauw Memorial Fund. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Teresa Hock, Geneseo, Joanne Wright, Orion, Jeanne Mirocha, Davenport, and Janette Dwyer, Atkinson; sons, Don Freeman, Jeral De Fauw and Joe De Fauw, all of Geneseo, and James De Fauw, Osco; 15 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Ruth Lauwagie, Atkinson, and Roberta Van DeVoorde, Annawan; and brothers, Earl, Hillsdale, Dale, Geneseo, and Howard, Cambridge.

Wendell Drawyer
TOULON, Ill. -- Wendell B. Drawyer, of rural Toulon, died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Toulon Health Care Center. The body was cremated. Memorial services will be later. Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Drawyer had worked at the former Walworth Co., Kewanee, and later at Chicago factories. He retired in 1985 from Illinois Tool Works, Elgin. He was born June 25, 1921, in rural Bradford. He married Eleanor Krapausky. During World War II, he served the 5th Army, 91st Division, in Northern Africa and Italy. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kayleen Isaac, and a son, Lanny, both of Elgin; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald, Sheffield; and a half brother, Vhoris Leadley, Dexter, Mo.
