Dorothy “Toddy” Johnson, 97, of Burlington, Iowa died at 7:55 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2007, at Burlington Care Center.
Born December 20, 1909 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Henry W. and Nellie (Hosler) Timmerman. On July 4, 1928 she married Orval “Bud” E. Johnson in Burlington. He died March 2, 1986.
Mrs. Johnson worked in food service with the Burlington Community School District for many years.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, where she was involved in the Ladies Circle. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie L. Paris and her husband Lee of Sparta, Missouri, and Shirley Inghram of Burlington; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, seven sisters, one brother, and one great-grandson Stevie preceded her in death.
A memorial has been established for the First United Church of Christ.

Florence Lillian Johnson, 97, of Burlington died at 11:58 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Burlington Care Center.
Born September 5, 1908 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Albert B. and Agnes M. Stumpf Bouquet. On February 5, 1944 she married Lloyd V. Johnson in Burlington. He died January 10, 1994.
Mrs. Johnson was a 1926 graduate of Burlington High School and worked as a bookkeeper at Iowa State Bank and Burlington Bank and Trust prior to her marriage. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband with his business, Lloyd Johnson Radio and TV, until his retirement.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Colleen B. (Wayne) Heibner of Burlington; one grandson, Brent (Crystal) J. Heibner of Shoreview,
Minnesota; and one great grandson, Mason J. Heibner also of Shoreview.
Her husband, parents, one brother and one sister in infancy preceded her in death.
A memorial has been established for Messiah Lutheran Church.
Noreen A. Johnson
June 25, 1924 - September 26, 2006
Noreen A. Johnson, 82 of Burlington, Iowa died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at her residence.
Born June 25, 1924 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Phillip and Agnes Matson Knotts. On June 18, 1945 she married Glen Johnson in Baltimore, Maryland.
Mrs. Johnson was a 1942 graduate of Burlington High School and a World War II veteran of the Navy WAVES, serving from 1943 until 1945. She was a homemaker and had worked in production at Sylvania for five years. She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church. She loved to cook and also enjoyed fishing, camping, flower gardening and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Glen Johnson of Burlington; two sons, Peter (Barbara) Johnson and Bruce (Debbie) Johnson both of Burlington; one daughter, Lynette (Tom) Hicks of Carman, Illinois; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Knotts of Springfield, Illinois; and two sisters Phyllis Lehman and Joyce Brehm both of Burlington.
Her parents and one brother, Phillip Knotts preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation or service at this time. According to her wishes, Mrs. Johnson’s body has been cremated.

Richard Dwayne Judd

Richard Dwyane Judd, 55, of Burlington died at 9:19 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2006, in Great River Medical Center.
Born July 6, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of Ernest and Virginia Hester Judd.
Richard was of the protestant faith, loved to play bingo, go mushroom hunting and go to yard sales. He formerly drove a cab for Reliable Cab Company.
Survivors include his daughter, Fawn Flowers of Burlington; son, Brandon Scott Christofferson of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren, Felicia, Shelby, Kaslyn, Dalton and Trenton; three brothers, Frank Judd of Oquawka, Illinois, James Judd and Walt Judd both of Burlington; and two sisters, Donna and Kathy of California.
His parents one brother Harold, and one sister Rose preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
The funeral for Richard Judd will be Wednesday, May 17th, at 2:00 p.m. in Lunning Chapel with the Reverend Marshall Jackman officiating.
According to Richard’s family’s wishes, his body will be cremated following the services.
Nora May Kaighin

Nora May Kaighin, 98, of Burlington died at 3:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2006, at Rosebush Gardens Nursing Home in Burlington.
Born December 21, 1907 in her parents’ home in Henry County, she was the daughter of Charles J. and Ida May Canby Peterson. On March 3, 1926 she married Karl K. Kaighin in rural Mount Pleasant. He died August 12, 1986.
Mrs. Kaighin attended Pleasant Lawn High School, rural Mount Pleasant. She was a homemaker and worked as a retail clerk for Younkers for 25 years. She was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church and was active in women’s church groups. She also was an expert flower gardener.
Survivors include one son, Irvin (Beverly) Kaighin of Bettendorf; two granddaughters, Rebecca Roller of Le Claire and Penny Grunder of Beloit, Wisconsin; and five great grandchildren.
Her husband, parents, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
A memorial has been established for West Burlington United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Donna Marcelle Kaup, 84, of Burlington died at 3:30 AM Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Born December 18, 1921 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Roy H. and Margaret L Hodges Uffelman. On February 3, 1943 she married Robert J. Messmer in Burlington, Iowa. He died October 22, 1967. On March 11, 1969 she married Harold Emil Kaup in Rochester, New York. He died July 25, 2005. She graduated from Burlington High School.
Mrs. Kaup retired as Second Deputy Des Moines County Treasurer after serving from 1956 to 1982. She was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ and AARP. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and canning.
Survivors include one daughter, Judith (John) Mathes of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Laura Mathes of Columbia, Missouri, Robert (Mary) Mathes of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jeffery Mathes of Weatherford, Oklahoma; 3 great grandchildren, Taylor, Kendal and Braden Mathes; 2 nieces, Lyn Springut and Teri Bjorn; and two nephews, David Ullrich and Don Uffelman.
Her husbands, parents one brother Roy Uffelman and one sister Doris Ullrich preceded her in death.

Thelma R. Kelley, 92, of Danville, Iowa, died at 11:05 p.m. Monday, September 4, 2006 at Bickford Cottage in Davenport, Iowa. Born November 20, 1913 in Washington, Iowa she was the daughter of Horace E. and Edna S. Hogue Brimhall. On August 19, 1933 she married James Lee Kelley in Yorkville, Illinois. He died on November 3, 1986.
She was a graduate of Danville High School and a farmer’s wife for 64 years at their family farm near Danville. Mrs. Kelley was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ of Danville, its Ladies Aid Group, and Farm Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Leah Del (Wayne) Wagner of LeClaire, Iowa; two sons, Larry Dale (Patricia) Kelley of Olathe, Kansas and Lennis Duane (Alicia) Kelley of rural Danville; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband, parents, four brothers, two sisters and an infant grandson preceded her in death.
