LENA, Ill. - Neil C. Stewart, 51, of Lena, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at the Freeport (Ill.) Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Leamon Funeral Home, Lena, with the Rev. Gavin Brandt, officiating. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends also may call at 8 p.m. at Nona Stewart's home in Hanover after the memorial services.
Mr. Stewart was a warehouse worker and a former truck driver for Werhane Enterprises and John Knobel and Moring Disposal.
He was born on June 15, 1951, in Savanna, son of Norman and Nona (Campbell) Stewart. He married Carolyn Haas on Nov. 26, 1976, at the Church By the Side of the Road, Rockton.
He served with the National Guard from 1970 to 1976.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Michelle (Jim) Anderson and Kimberly (Brandon) Sparks, both of Houston, Texas, and Shannon Stewart, of Lena; a son, Craig (Lori) Stewart, of Madison; three grandsons, Jesse Schuler, Craig and Joshua Anderson; his mother, Nona Stewart, of Hanover; two brothers, Stanley (Nancie) Stewart, of Oak Park, Joseph (Sally) Stewart, of Iowa; four sisters, Sandra Stewart, of Hanover, Kay (Larry) Snow, of Iowa, Cynthia Lehman, of Iowa, and Debra (Clarence) Gunther, of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Raymond.
In lieu of flowers, a Neil C. Stewart Memorial Fund has been established.

BELLEVUE, Iowa - Lucille M. Sieverding, 92, of 400 N. Fourth St., Bellevue, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kingery Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bellevue.
She was born on July 16, 1909, in Bellevue, daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Yoerger) Dempewolf. She married Lawrence Sieverding on Feb. 20, 1933, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue.
She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue Garden Club and Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are five daughters, Janet C. McFadden, of Oak Lawn, Ill., Marcelline M. (Robert) Engelman, of Bellevue, Carol L. Armstrong, of Maquoketa, Mary Jane (Tom) McConaghy, of La Crosse, Wis., Susan K. (Hugh) Engling, of Onalaska, Wis.; four sons, Lawrence J. (Jan) Sieverding, of Bellevue, James F. (Linda) Sieverding, of Bellevue, Paul J. Sieverding, of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Charles E. Sieverding, of Dubuque; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Deken, of Qulin, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Francis; a daughter, Ruth Ann Womeldorf; a sister, Margaret Ernst; and two brothers, Raymond and Vincent Dempewolf.
Edward J. Zalaznik
Mr. Edward J. "Ed" Zalaznik, 84, of 3338 Center Grove Drive, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's the Worker Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery , Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a St. Joseph's the Worker Catholic Church Parish Christian wake service at 4 p.m.
Mr. Zalaznik worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for 20 years prior to retiring. He also farmed for many years in the Farley area.
He was born on June 26, 1918, in Farley, Iowa, son of Frank and Mary (Jenina) Zalaznik.
He married his first wife, Florence Burkart on Oct. 1, 1940, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Dubuque; she died on Dec. 30, 1972. He then married Shirley P. Banks on Jan. 14, 1977, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church; she died on Oct. 2, 1993.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoyed dancing and loved spending time outdoors.
Surviving are five daughters, Patty (Lyle) Montgomery, Sharon Carr and Marilyn (Bob) Hoefer, all of Dubuque, Charlotte (John) Gavin, of Iowa City, and Joanne (Dick) Steinhoff, of Dallas; four sons, Tom (Valerie) and Ed (Vickie) Zalaznik, both of Dubuque, Roger (Mary Jo) Zalaznik, of Schaumburg, Ill., and Gary (Elaine Burmeister) Zalaznik, of Moline, Ill.; 27 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Gene) Tujetsch, of Guttenberg, Iowa; and a brother, Ernie (Vivian) Zalaznik, of Epworth, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vic and John Zalaznik; a sister, Frances Heitz; and a son-in-law, James Carr.
The family requests no flowers. An Edward J. "Ed" Zalaznik Memorial Fund has been established by his family.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to Dr. John Viner, and his nurse, Ann, for their unconditional care and concern for Ed during his illness, and also to Valerija Maskoviene, his 24-hour-a-day home caregiver.
Ambrose J. Seng
Ambrose J. Seng, 89, of the Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of Ecumenical Towers, and Potosi, Wis., died of congestive heart failure at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Cathedral, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery . Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
He was born on June 16, 1913, in Potosi, son of Leopold Jr. and Mary (Scanlan) Seng. He married Grace Baney on Jan. 23, 1940, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Potosi; she died on Jan. 28, 1996.
Ambrose farmed in the Potosi area until moving to Dubuque. He was then employed at the former Dubuque Packing Co. and later at Sweetheart Bakery.
He was a member of St. Raphael's Cathedral Parish. While living at Ecumenical Towers, Ambrose was the "unofficial gardener," caring for the flowers around the building. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends at Ecumenical Towers and Dubuque Nursing and Rehab.
Surviving are four daughters, Isabelle (Larry) Brandenburg, of South Lebanon, Ohio, Ann Morris, of Phoenix, Ariz., Sheila (Frank) Paquette, of Greeley, Colo., and Sharon (Virgil) Ostreng, of Montgomery, Ill.; three sons, David (Donna) Seng, of Carpentersville, Ill., Marty Seng, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Stephen (Cathy) Waul, of Madison, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Alberta Patzner, of Dubuque; a brother, Clarence (Irene) Seng, of Potosi; two sisters-in-law, Betty Seng, of Marion, Iowa, and Marie Seng, of Fennimore, Wis.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra, in infancy; and a son, Carl Seng; a grandson, Kelly Morris; a sister-in-law, Winifred Seng; and a brother-in-law, Alfred Patzner.
The family wishes to thank Dubuque Nursing and Rehab, Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque and Hospice of Dubuque for their loving care and concern for Ambrose.
