Sharon K. Hoel

Sharon K. Hoel, 53, of Urbandale, Iowa, formerly of Clear Lake,
died Tuesday, March 7, 1995, at Fairview Southdale Hospital,
Edina, Minn.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 10, at Zion Lutheran Church,
Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess officiating.

Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Floyd, Iowa. The family suggests
memorials be made to Camp Amanda the Panda or Opportunity Village.

Sharon was born Aug. 25, 1941, in rural Floyd County, the daughter
of Clifford Day and Thelma Arlene (Mills) Newton. She attended
Floyd Community School and graduated from the Charles City High School
in 1959. She attended the American Institute of Business in
Des Moines, Iowa.

On Nov. 25, 1960 she married Edwin Hoel at the United Methodist Church
in Floyd. The couple lived in Boston, Mass., before moving back to
Des Moines. After a move to Ann Arbor, Mich., they again returned
to West Des Moines where they owned and operated the Ashworth Acres
Tree Farm from 1977-1984.

They moved to Clear Lake in February 1989 and lived there until
1993, when they moved to Urbandale. She was employed as office
manager for Air Management Systems from 1984-1993, when the
business was sold. She became a licensed real estate agent in
1984 and was associated with Iowa Realty in Des Moines.

Sharon was a member of P.E.O. and TTT. Her talents included singing
and she especially enjoyed being a member of the Joyous Voices
group at Zion Lutheran Church. She was also involved in starting a
women's retreat for Faith Lutheran Church in Clive, Iowa, and
Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake. While living in Clear lake, she
was very active in the Christian Women's Club. Sharon was a member
of Faith Lutheran Church, Clive.

She is survived by her mother, Thelma Newton, Charles City; her
husband, Edwin Hoel, Urbandale; a son, Douglas Hoel, Springfield, Mo.;
a daughter, Janan Jarosinski and her husband, Stephen, Roselle, Ill.;
and a brother, Dean Newton and his wife, Pauline, England.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Organist Joyce TenHaken accompanied soloist Joel Laaveg.

Honorary pallbearers were Don Teepe, Kevin Johnson, Darcie Regan,
Karla Byrd, Eric Newton, Thomas Newton, Sarah Hoel, Deborah Hoel,
Jacquelyn Hoel, Mike Johnson.

Pallbearers were Dennis Johnson, Galen Roberts, Gary Mills,
Wayne Mills, Clayton Johnson, Allen Teepe.

Dennis Allen (Doc) Dockhorn

Dennis Allen (Doc) Dockhorn, 45, of Clear Lake, died Monday,
March 6, 1995, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus,
Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Friday, March 10,
at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess and
Rev. John Golv of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hampton, Iowa,
officiating.

Graveside services were held Friday at the Hampton Cemetery, Hampton.
Military Honors were provided by American Legion Post #183 of Hampton.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Dennis Allen Dockhorn
Memorial Fund.

Dennis was born March 15, 1949, in Hampton, the son of
Lewis and Betty (Montandon) Dockhorn. He attended school in
Hampton. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam
Conflict and received the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat
for Bravery Under Fire.

He worked for Franklin Manufacturing, Webster City, Winnebago
Industries, Forest City, Bob's Appliance in Britt and later CNL
Electric in Garner repairing electric motors.

On Nov. 20, 1976 he married Virginia R. (Ginny) Juhl in Hampton.
They moved to Clear Lake in 1986 to live. He enjoyed going to
auctions, sales and visiting with people. Dennis enjoyed cross
stitching, cooking and his cats. He was a member of St. Paul's
Lutheran Church, Hampton, and the Clear Lake V.F.W.

He is survived by his parents, Lewis and Betty Dockhorn, Hampton;
one brother, Don Dockhorn and his wife, Jeri, Clear Lake; his best
friend, Virginia R. (Ginny) Dockhorn; and several aunts, uncles
and cousins. Organist Mary Jane Reynolds accompanied soloist Lisa
Arians. Guitarist was Emery Cooper.

Honorary pallbearers were Paul Jepsen Jr., Maurice Juhl,
Dwight Juhl, Forest Steere, Jack Prestholt, Paul Jepsen,
Jeff Juhl.
Pallbearers were Cherie Lee Oehlert, Rich Oehlert,
Lloyd Harmeyer, Denny Best, John Schmidt, Jake Weber.

Ruben Mostrom

Pastor Ruben Mostrom, 85, retired Lutheran clergyman, died
Saturday, March 11, 1995, at his home in Northfield, Minn.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday), March 15,
at 2 p.m., at....

Arthur M. Villadsen

Arthur M. Villadsen, 89, of Lake Station, Ind., died Saturday,
March 4, 1995, at home. Funeral services were held Wednesday,
March 8, at the Concordia Lutheran Church, Hessville, with the
Rev. John B. Luttmann officiating. Burial was at the Chapel Lawn
Memorial Gardens, Schererville.

Mr. Villadsen was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He retired
from Cities Service Oil Refiner, East Chicago in 1969 with over
20 years as an operator. Arthur enjoyed bowling, traveling and
fishing in Minnesota and Canada.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille, (nee Steege) of 67 years;
three children, Phyllis (late Richard) Newman of Hessville,
Lois deceased (Jack) Hilbrich of Tarpon Springs, Florida and
Judy (Donald) Hudkins of Hessville; 14 grandchildren, Jeffrey
(Kathy) Newman of Munster, Pamela (Richard) Henry, Deborah (Brian)
Conner, Richard (Laura) Newman, all of Hammond, Jon (Joann)
Hilbrich of LaJolla, California, David (Gina) Hilbrich of
Aurora, Colorado, Gail (Bill) Sebastyen of Dunedin, Florida,
Steven (Ann) Hilbrich of Highland, James (Kate) Hilbrich,
Joel Hilbrich, Kristine (Jack) Mescal, Brian Hudkins, Susan
(Tom) Byrd, Karan Hudkins, all of Hammond; 20 great-grandchildren;
three sisters, Hazel (late Marshall) Friest of Clear Lake and Ann
(Jerry) Freeman of Hammond; sister-in-law, Lillian (late Dee)
Graham of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.

Doris Luella Legried

Doris Luella Legried, 81, Clear Lake, died Wednesday,
March 22, 1995, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus,
Mason City, Iowa. Following cremation a graveside service was
held Monday, March 28, at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake,
with the Rev. Kermit Roisen, of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake,
officiating.

The family suggests memorials to the Doris Luella Legried Memorial
Fund.

Doris was born Nov. 11, 1913 in Thompson, Iowa, the daughter of
Ole and Gurena (Moen) Ellefson. She attended rural school
Thompson. Doris was confirmed in the West Prairie Lutheran Church,
Leland, Iowa. On July 17, ...

... Jerry, Goldfield, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Groath,
Clear Lake; two brothers, Sidney and Robert Ellefson, both of Algona,
Iowa; one sister, Darlene Sweet, East Alton, Illinois;
six grandchildren, Kim Kvinge, Debra Groath, Steven Groath,
Jimmy Dean Foster, Kathy Foster, and Michael Roy Foster;
eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one
son James Duey Groath.

Mary E. Byerly

Mary E. Byerly, 82, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, March 23, 1995,
at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt, Iowa. Funeral
services were held Monday, March 27, at Ventura United Methodist
Church, Ventura, Iowa, with the Rev. David Gobeli officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. The
family suggests memorials to the Mary E. Byerly memorial fund.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Elizabeth Byerly was born April 30, 1912 in Dallas County,
Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Virgie (Potter) Wilson. She
graduated from Mason City High School.

On Sept. 14, 1935, she married Walter Byerly in Pontiac, Mich.
They made their home in Winona, Minn., for several years, then
moved to Ventura where they were engaged in farming until 1953.
Mary retired in 1990 from hostessing at the Muskie Lounge in Ventura.
She was well liked and enjoyed visiting with all who came into the
restaurant. She was a member of Ventura United Methodist Church,
Ventura.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Brouwer and her husband,
Larry, Ventura; on granddaughter, Rhonda Van Damme and her husband,
Hank, East Moline, Ill.; one great-granddaughter,
Elizabeth Maupin, East Moline, Ill.; a sister, Marie Hamann,
Ventura; three brothers, Bill Wilson, Ventura; George Wilson,
Swaledale, Iowa, and Jim Wilson, Meservey, Iowa; one sister-in-law,
Lucille Wilson, Ventura.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister,
Marge Walker; and three brothers, Henry Wilson, Nile Wilson and
Harold Wilson. Organist Pat Treloar accompanied soloist
Larry Shaffer.

Honorary pallbearers were James Lackore, Gordon Wilson, Bary Gerdes.
Pallbearers were Bill Byerly, Dennis Ward, Mark Taylor, Bob Byerly,
Mike Oulman, Henry Van Damme.

Rose Brager

Rose Brager, 97, of Clear Lake, died Monday, March 27, 1995,
at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.
