Maurice attended the First United Methodist Church in Benton.
Survivors include his twin brother, Charles R. Williams, Benton; two aunts, Grace Webb of Carbondale, and Jeanne Havens of Elkville and husband Bud; several cousins.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents and by an uncle, E. Maurice Webb.

Benton - Michael Gushi, 46, died at 5:42 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, at the Franklin Hospital, Benton.

JOHN D. ELKO
Aurora - John D. Elko, 83, died on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 at Elmwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral mass will be held a 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001 at Holy Angels Church. Father Dean Russell will officiate. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora. Contributions in Mr. Elko's memory may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
Mr. Elko was born on Mach 25, 1917, in Pennsylvania, the son of John and Theresa Elko.
He began his 30 year career with Caterpillar Inc. in 1942 in Peoria. He was subsequently transferred to the Aurora plant in 1959. He retired in 1972 as an assembly line supervisor. He loved bowling on the Caterpillar bowling team and held a great passion for sports and gardening. He was a member of both the Loyal Order of Moose Club and the Tiger Athletic Club.
Survivors include his loving wife Mary of Aurora; two sons, David and wife Lynn Elko of Oswego and John and wife Lucille Elko of Benton; four grandchildren, Kevin and wife Casey, Amanda Elko of Benton, Kristin and Jason Elko of Oswego; a great-grandson, Logan Elko of Benton; and two sisters, Sophie Swigonski, Mary and husband Bill Hill, all of Benton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Mike Elko and wife Mary, brother-in-law, Max Swigonski.
MARY LOUISE VEACH
Christopher - Mary Louise Veach, 56, died at the home of her mother in Christopher, at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, 2001.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Christopher, with the Rev. Jerry Aken officiating. It was Mrs. Veach's request to be cremated. Friends may call to the funeral home from noon until service time on Friday.
Mrs. Veach was born on Sept. 8, 1944 in Eldorado, the daughter of Robert L. Chesney and Polly Elizabeth Davis Busler. She was married to John Veach, who died March 14, 1998.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Hickey Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons, Mike Veach, J.J. Veach, Shawn Veach, all of Christopher; one granddaughter, Lori Jeana Veach; one grandson, Trista Lee Veach; one sister, Elizabeth Gail Hicks, Sherwood, N.D.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vauana Lee Veach.
JEAN BUNTIN CHAMNESS
Benton - Jean Buntin Chamness, 63, died at 3:19 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at the Franklin Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dale Carson officiating. Burial will be in the Knob Prairie Cemetery, Akin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ms. Chamness was born Dec. 30, 1937, in Eastern Township, Franklin County, the daughter of Buel Samuel and Helen Elenora (Dillon) Buntin.
She was a bookkeeper and office administrator at the Benton Township G.A. Office.
A member of 10 genealogy clubs, she was an avid collector of many items from dishes to Barbie dolls. She was a past-president of the Benton/West City Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Chamber's Citizen of the Year in 1994. She was a co-founder and member of the Franklin County Historical Preservation Society, a member of the Akin Grade School PTO, past 4-H leader, past member and secretary of the Benton Library Board of Trustees.
She was a member of the Jackson Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Bennett) Overturf, Benton, Bobbi (Bennett) and husband Keith Darnell, Akin; two brothers, Robert and wife Margie Buntin, Thompsonville, Michael and wife Brenda Buntin, Thompsonville; a sister, Ann and husband Jerry Lee Williams, Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Kyle Marshall and Jennifer Ann Overturf, both of Benton, Charles Ryan and Brandi Lynn Darnell, both of Akin; ten nieces and nephews, Kelly Hunt, Scott, Steve, and Sam Buntin, James Buntin, Trudee Wynn, Julie Buntin, Tona LeAnne, Jerri Kaye, and Scott Alan Williams; two great-nieces, Bailey Wynn, Megan Buntin; five great-nephews, Caleb and Mathew Buntin, Alex Clark, David Hunt, and Gehrig Wynn.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents.

RONALD G. STUBBLEFIELD
Washington, Indiana - Ronald G. Stubblefield, 50, formerly of Benton, died at 4:21 p.m. in his home on March 31, 2001.
Services will be held on Friday, April 6, at 1 p.m. in the Poulson Funeral Home, with Pastor Melton Nelms officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery, Harrisburg. Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Trail Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Mr. Stubblefield was born on May 1, 1950, in Christopher, the son of James Edward "Ed" and Jackie (Parkhill) Stubblefield. He was married to Judy (Mason) Stubblefield.
He was a shop foreman for Harner & Son Trucking Company in Washington and had previously worked at Old Ben 24 and 2.
He was a member of the Eagles in Washington, and the UMWA.
Survivors include his mother Jackie, Benton; his wife, Judy, of Washington; mother-in-law Irene Bates, who also lives in Washington; two sons, Darren Stubblefield of Benton, Michael Hayes Jr. of Princeton, Ind.; three daughters, April and husband Craig Miles of Benton, Stephanie and Bill Watkins of Herrin, Dana Sue and husband Kerry Dowdell of Booneville, Ind.; two grandchildren, Taylore Nicole Miles of Benton and Andrea Dowdell of Booneville; one sister, Karen Toms of Logan.
He was preceded in death by his father and one infant son, Christopher Michael Stubblefield.
CASIMER JABCZYNSKI
Zeigler - Casimer Jabczynski, 85, died on Sunday, April 1, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
There was a private service in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Christopher, and his body was cremated.
Mr. Jabczynski was born on Feb. 10, 1916, in Chicago, the son of Theodore and Victoria (Logonski) Jabczynski. Living life to its fullest, he also lived it his own way.
He was a master tool and die maker for Argonne National Laboratories in Chicago.
Surviving are four daughters, Diane and husband Bill Flood of Mulkeytown, Susan and husband Jim Wyrick of Rockford, Sharel and husband Marty Arfa of California, Wendy and husband Robert Toms of California; two sons, Dennis and wife, Nene Jabczynski of Utah, Casimer Jr.and wife Susan Jabczynski of McHenry; a sister, Mildred Jones of Chicago; one brother, Walter Jaczynski of Streator; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and 7 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter and five brothers and sisters.
Liddell Jerry Johnson
Liddell Jerry Johnson, 72, of Zeigler, died at 11:36 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at the Franklin Hospital in Benton.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Zeigler. With his wife Mary, he was the former owner/operator of "Immediate Cleaners" in Benton for 19 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and was an avid Cardinal fan.
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 17, 1928 in Royalton to Forest H. and Martha (Crane) Johnson.
He married Mary Musa Harford Dec. 25, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Zeigler. She preceded him in death May 31, 1995.
Survivors include a very special friend, Virginia Dotson of Zeigler; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles E. Johnson of Zeigler, and Jerry L. and Susan Johnson of Brook, IN; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Ruth Johnson of Zeigler; three sisters, Odessa Curtis of Houston, TX, Mavis Taylor of Godfrey, and Doris Raymond of Herrin; several nieces and nephews, including Joyce and J.C. Baumgarte of Herrin and Mary Ann Lather of Carbondale; and a dear friend, Doris Filkins of Zeigler.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and a brother, Clinton Johnson.
Graveside services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 at the Zeigler Cemetery, with Rev. Scott Johnson officiating and Rev. David Lindgen assisting. VANTREASE FUNERAL HOME in Zeigler is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Johnson be made to the Zeigler First Baptist Church and will be accepted at the cemetery or may be mailed to the church at 106 South Pine Street, Zeigler, IL, 62999.
