Rev. Jack L. Duncan, 76, of Decatur, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday, March 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs cemetery, with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Second Church of God.
Rev. Duncan was born September 1, 1931, in Herrin, IL, the son of George Wayne Duncan and Luvenia Marie Fustin. He graduated from South Fork Community High School in Kincaid, IL, on June 1, 1949. He then served in the United States Navy for four years, and was honorably discharged March 19, 1953. In 1957 he attended a student ministerial course. On April 26, 1966, he temporarily pastored West Decatur Church of God. Also, in 1966, he pastored for 7 1/2 years at Lodge Church of God. On May 12, 1967, he received his ordination. Starting in March 1978, he pastored Stone Street Church of God for 24 years. Rev. Duncan retired from the ministry on May 5, 2002. Since his retirement, he attended the Second Church of God. Rev. Duncan was employed by the Decatur School District from January 16, 1956 until he retired July 1, 1992.
He married
Beatrice Ann Law July 12, 1976, in Charleston, IL. She preceded him in death February 24, 2007. Rev. Duncan will once again be with his wonderful loving wife, who was not only a friend, but his trustworthy companion in all ways.
Rev. Duncan is survived by his daughter D. Jane Fairbanks and husband Jimmy R. of Lincoln, IL; grandson Jack R. Maple of Lincoln, IL; great granddaughter Adylynn Jane Maple of Clinton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Ann, stepson Willard Dale Grubbs, father George Wayne Duncan, mother Luvenia Marie Fustin, and stepmother Alice Jane Duncan.

Marian Lucille Morrison, 83, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at St. James Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be at North Fork cemetery, Decatur, IL.
Marian was born November 12, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Harlan E. and Marie F. (Hendren) McClintick. She grew up in Peoria, IL until her family moved to Decatur, where she attended Decatur High School. She married
Wilbur F. “Bud” Morrison on April 26, 1947, in Decatur, IL.
Marian was faithful to her church, family and community. Away from her family, she was a frequent volunteer with St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary and St. James Church and she enjoyed the company of friends through her bridge club.
Surviving are her children Daniel Morrison and wife Nancy of Elkhart, IN, Kathleen Smethers and husband David of Boise, ID, Patrick Morrison and wife Rachel of Clarendon Hills, IL, Michael Morrison of Heyworth, IL; grandchildren Douglas Morrison and Lee Morrison, both of Chicago, IL, Jennifer Morrison and Blake Morrison, both of Elkhart, IN, Jennifer Wilson of Sylva, NC, Beth Smethers of Boise, ID, Madeline and Joseph Morrison both of Clarendon, Hills, IL, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and brother William McClintick and wife Helen of Williamsburg, VA.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother James McClintick.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff, care givers, and physical therapists at Leroy Manor for their kindness and attention. We would also like to thank Sugar Creek Care Center of Normal, IL.

Deborah Lynn Moretti, 57, of Decatur, IL, died 1:32 P.M., Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M., Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation from 1:00 to 2:30, prior to service time at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.

Deborah was born December 1, 1952, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Jerry Brumett and Rosemarie Stevens. She married
Jim Moretti on May 10, 1980, in Joliet, IL.
Deborah served as Secretary/Treasurer of Mud Flats Boat Club. She was a stay at home mom and loved cooking, baking, bowling, boating, and was a wonderful seamstress, making many Halloween costumes for her children.
She is survived by her husband Jim of Decatur, IL; son David (Erin) Montesano of Geneva, IL; daughters Melissa (Dan) Moran of Bloomington, IL, Amanda (Justin) Slifer of Decatur, IL; son Jonathan Moretti of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Cameron, Caden, and Jack Montesano, Zachary Slifer, Logan Moran; mother Rosemarie (Nick) Pandiscio of Barefoot Bay, FL; brothers Michael Zuppa of Tampa, FL, Brad (Tammy) Zuppa of Tampa, FL; sister Randi (Fernando) Urquidi of Plainfield, IL, Gary Zuppa of Plainfield, IL; aunts Dixie (Brad) Johnson, Judy Garland, Ruthie Treest.

Alta Joan Harmon, 78, of Decatur, IL, died 8:29 A.M., Friday, February 12, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL with her family by her side.

Joan was born December 15, 1931, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Francis and Pearl (Moyer) Cunningham. She accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior at age 16. Joan married
Bob Harmon, Sr. on April 8, 1951 at the West Decatur Church of God in Decatur, IL. Later in life, she purchased the “Jesus Saves” sign for the church.
Joan was a member of United Baptist Church where she was the pianist for 18 years. She worked for Borg Warner for 37 years before retiring, then later for Climate Control. She was a 50 year member of the Warrensburg Eastern Star, where she was a 5 times Worthy Matron and the pianist for 40 years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob Sr., of Decatur, IL; son Bob (Barbara) Harmon Jr. of Decatur; grandsons Ben (Rebecca) Harmon and Zach Harmon, all of Decatur, IL; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Sandy (Marvin) Hilton of Decatur, IL, Kay Campbell of Harristown, IL; brothers Lou Moyer and Scott (Linda) Moyer, all of Decatur, IL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Patricia Ann Harmon, brother Jack Cunningham, brother-in-law Rev. Calvin Campbell.
John Alexander

“Coach” John Alexander, 83, passed away on February 15, 2010.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Friday, February 19, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20, at the funeral home. Following funeral services, burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Decatur, IL with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
John grew up in Robinson, Illinois, and attended Lake Forest Academy in Chicago. Following high school, he enlisted in the Navy at Great Lakes. He was a World War II veteran.
John graduated from Hanover College, Indiana with a BS in English. He received his MA from Butler University, Indiana. In 1946, at Hanover College Alex met Eubie Martin, the love of his life. It was love at first sight. What a wonderful journey they traveled.
Alex coached and taught at Mishawaka, East Peoria and Eisenhower. He also coached at Cerro Gordo, Millikin, Warrensburg-Latham, and Illiopolis. Alex loved teaching but football was his true passion. “The boys” of the many teams he coached were very important to him. He coached over 50 years.
John leaves two daughters, Carol Cohen and Barbara Alexander; a grandson Alexander Steinhaus; David Cohen; Steve Reiss and Petey, his dog.
The family would like to especially thank Alex’s caregivers. Oh, how he will be missed.

Stephen L. Cox, 57, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010, in his residence.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 26, at Point Pleasant cemetery, Long Creek. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Thursday, February 25, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire.

Steve was born July 22, 1952, in Decatur, the son of Raymond and Shirley (Kincaid) Cox. He worked as a roofer and sheet metal worker for 15 years. He loved mud trucks, race cars, and Harleys.
Steve is survived by his daughters: Kristina Hughes and husband Mark, Stephanie Davis, and Ashley Cox and companion Thomas Gerk, all of Decatur; son James Cox of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren: Jacob, Stephen (Nate), Breanna Wren, Grayson and Amelia Hughes, and Tyler Cox, all of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steve will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Although you thought you failed us, in our hearts we know the truth - life’s lessons we have all learned were taught to us by you.

Patrick Lee Dulaney, 56, of Decatur, passed away at 4:02 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008, in his home.

Patrick was born on January 22, 1952, in Decatur, the son of Hobart and Barbara Lee (Collins) Veech.
Patrick retired from the U.S. Navy, serving 2 tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the Navy, he was an independent painter. He was a life member of NRA, VFW 99, D.A.V. and of the American Legion.
Surviving are his ex-wife and best friend Deborah Lowe, of Decatur; step mother Betty Dulaney of Salem, IL; brothers Mike Dulaney and wife Judy of Decatur, IL, James Peveler of Decatur, IL, Mark Dulaney of Alma, IL; sisters Marsha Porter of Cerro Gordo, IL, Peggy (Wildman) Wallace of Decatur, IL, Janet Snyder and husband Dan of Cerro Gordo, IL; cats Desperado Lee Faye and Rasputin; he also leaves behind his best friends Mitchell Lowe, Mike Hudson, Steve Kinney, and Richard Hinton.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, brother Danny Dulaney who passed away February 4, 2008, sister Paula Lindsey, and pets Jones and Baby Lou.

Mrs. Johnson was born July 28, 1911, the daughter of Charles E. and Cora A. (Adamson) Berlin. She married
Ellis Lee Johnson November 28, 1946 in Lawrence County, IL. He preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Johnson taught for 37 ½ years at the Bridgeport Public Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, IL.
She is survived by her daughter: H.R. Johnson Glenn and husband Robert of Decatur, IL; step-children: Carma Lee Garvin and husband Dan of Kansas City, MO, Robert Johnson and wife Sharon of Kansas City, MO, and Martha Ann Clegg; grandchildren: Kris Glenn of Modesto, CA, David Glenn and wife Amy of Mahomet, IL, and Jennifer Horoho and husband Casey of Fishers, IN; great grandchildren: Jackson Glenn, Carter Glenn, McKinzie Horoho, and Owen Horoho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Erle Berlin.
