Kenneth J. Huizenga, 62, died Feb. 16, 2015 in Oak Lawn.
Mr. Huizenga is survived by his wife, Rosalie; children Amber, Ken and Missy Huizenga and Katie (Pepe) Cabrera; five grandchildren; four sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Friday at Colonial Chapel in Orland Park followed by memorial services at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Burbank.
Interment was at the Colonial Chapel Crematory.
Born in Delevan, Wis., Mr. Huizenga worked as a truck driver.
Mark “Gene” Mitchell
Mark “Gene” Mitchell, 78, of Chicago Ridge died Jan. 23, 2015 at ManorCare West in Oak Lawn.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Mary; son Mark (Bonnie Lynn); grandchildren Michael and David; sister Marcy Edwards; and many relatives and friends.
Visitation was held the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills.
An Army veteran, Mr. Mitchell was born in Chicago and worked in the railroad industry.
Geraldine “Gerry” Oberg
Geraldine “Gerry” Oberg, 96, died Feb. 12, 2015 in Chicago Ridge.
Mrs. Oberg is survived by her husband, David; daughter Janice (Ki) Adams; son Ken (Wendy) Oberg; sister Dorothy Harmon; several grandchildren and great-children and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Feb. 15 at Colonial Chapel in Orland Park followed by funeral services at Christian Hills Church in Orland Hills.
Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery.
Jean M. Schabert
Jean M. Schabert, 85, died Feb. 12, 2015 in her Palos Hills home.
Visitation was Feb. 14 at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth.
A funeral Mass was said at Sacred Heart Church in Palos Hills.
Burial was at St. Mary’s cemetery in Evergreen Park.
Mrs. Schabert is survived by her children Michael Schabert and Cathy Costa and brother Robert Jahnke and three grandchildren.
A Chicago native, she worked as a secretary at St. Xavier University.
Helen Ann Wegg
Helen Ann Wegg, 90, of Oak Lawn died Jan. 31, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Wegg is survived by children Robert (Susan) and Alan (Jackie) and Leslie Wegg; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Linus Church. Interment was at St. Casimir Lithuanian cemetery.
Born in Chicago, Mrs. Wegg was a homemaker.
Walter C. Bonham
Walter C. Bonham of Oak Lawn died Jan. 6, 2015 at Park Villa Nursing Home. He was 91.
Visitation and funeral services were held at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth. Burial was Chapel Hill Gardens South.
Mr. Bonham is survived by siblings Robert, Frank and Ruth; 15 great nephews and nieces and other friends and family.
Born in Bridgeton, N.J., Mr. Bonham was a 60-year member of Worth United Methodist Church.
Thomas P. Gavin Jr.
Thomas P. Gavin Jr., 78, died Dec. 30, 2014 at Palos Community Hospital.
Visitation and funeral services were held at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth. Burial was private.
Mr. Gavin is survived by his wife, Darlene Cornelius; children Tommie, Kenny and Donna; siblings Noreen Colgan and Patsy Daubert.
Mr. Gavin was born in Chicago and worked as a claims adjustor. He was a member of the Worth Lions.
Matthew Kozubowski
Matthew Kozubowski, 93, of Palos Hills died Dec. 24, 2014 at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Visitation was Dec. 28 at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth.
A funeral Mass was held Dec. 29 at Our Lady of the Ridge Church in Chicago Ridge.
Burial was at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery.
Mr. Kozubowski is survived by his wife, Clara Dryjanski and children Cynthia Audino, Mark Kozubowski and Laurie Dolan.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Kozubowski was tavern owner and a dockworker.
Raymond T. Riley
Raymond T. Riley of Palos died Dec. 26, 2014 at Palos Community Hospital. He was 75.
Mr. Riley is survived by his wife Joan; children Shannon, Kelly, Nicole and Ray; eight grandfather and three of great grandfather children.
A memorial visitation and service was held Sunday at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills.
Mr. Riley was born in Chicago and worked in the security industry.
