Leola Prescott of South Elgin
Services for Leola Prescott, 96, formerly of Scottsdale, Ariz., will beheld at noon Friday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.
Born Nov. 12, 1902, in Des Plaines, she died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Carrington Care Center, South Elgin.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Arlington Heights.
Surviving are her son, Paul (Joy) Vombrack of Elgin; grandchildren, Roy Vombrack and Donna (Doug) Fulford; and great-grandchildren, Kara and Abby Vombrack.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Vombrack, in 1963; and second husband, Daniel Prescott, in 1965.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon Friday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Chester J. Rapacz Jr. of Streamwood
The family and friends of Chester J. Rapacz Jr., 44, will meet for a funeral Mass to be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 845 W. Main St. (Route 72, one block west of Route 31), West Dundee. Rev. Michael McKinstra will officiate.
Born April 2, 1955, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at home. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
He was a 20-year resident of the Streamwood area. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #58 of Chicago.
Survivors include his mother, Viola Jozefowicz of Streamwood and father, Chester J. Rapacz of Woodstock; brothers, Victor (Sharon) Jozefowicz of Streamwood and Edward Jozefowicz of Antioch; sisters, Rita (Robert) Smith of Colorado and Diane Schoenfeld of Streamwood; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass Friday, at the church.
Please omit flowers.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cora Robinson, 74, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Arrangements are being made by Stout-Madison Funeral Home, Elgin, (847) 742-7000.

Veronica Ann Royster (nee Rowan), 72, of Crown Point, Ind., formerly of the Elmhurst area, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Arrangements were made by Gibbons Funeral Home, Elmhurst, (630) 832-0018.

Anna E. Schroeder of Crystal Lake
Services for Anna E. Schroeder, 76, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Deacon Michael Black will officiate.
Born July 2, 1922, in Velika Srediste, Yugoslavia, to Thomas and Anna Dernetz, she passed away Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at her home. Burial will be in Windridge Cemetery, Cary.
Survivors include her daughter, Hilda (Roger) Olsen of Ballwin, Mo.; grandchildren, Pamela Stork, Cynthia Ann Olsen and Bonnie Lynn Krueger; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas Michael Stork, and Michael and Brandon Krueger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Schroeder, whom she married June 25, 1955, in Crystal Lake, and who preceded her in 1980.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Leo Schwarz of West Chicago
A funeral Mass for Leo Schwarz, 85, a resident of West Chicago for 23 years, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, at Resurrection Church, Army Trail Road and Route 59, Wayne.
Born April 11, 1914, in Chicago, he died Monday, June 14, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Survivors include his children, Richard (Kathy) Schwarz, Kenneth (Judy) Schwarz and Patricia (the late Norm) Ziel; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Chester Schwarz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Schwarz; brother, Edward Schwarz; and sister, Mae McDaniel.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. today, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Resurrection Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Williams-Woodward Funeral Home, West Chicago.

Rose A. Skonieczny (nee Wajnert), 91, of Palatine, formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999. Arrangementswere made by Kolssak Funeral Home, Wheeling, (847) 537-6600.

Michelina `Maggie' Sparagna (nee Melograno), 95, of Lombard, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999. Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, Lombard, (630) 629-0094.

Jesse J. Torres of Elgin
Private funeral services will be held for Jesse J. Torres, 63, of Elgin. Deacon John Sauceda will officiate.
Born Jan. 5, 1936, in Waukegan, to Joseph and Caroline (nee Rodriguez) Torres, hedied Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
Mr. Torres had been employed by Elgin Salvage Company at the recycling plant.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are his son, Jesse A. Torres of Elgin; daughters, Elizabeth A. (Roberto) Alejandro, Rose Sanchez and Sally Torres, all of Elgin; sisters, Clara (Albert) Gutierrez, Frances (Richard) Selio and Mary Ortiz, all of Elgin, Connie Quintero and Josephine (Armando) Lopez, both of Chicago, and Rosary Florez of California; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael David Torres.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Arrangements were made by Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Funeral Chapel.

Thomas Charles Agnew of Lake in the Hills
A funeral Mass for Thomas Charles Agnew, 76, will be celebrated at 3 p.m. today, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin. The Rev. Michael J. Tierney will officiate.
Born Sept. 20, 1922, in Chicago, to John F. and Alma (nee Taylor) Agnew, he died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. Burial will be in Windridge Cemetery, Cary.
A veteran, Mr. Agnew had served in the Army during World War II. He had been employed in production and inventory control for the Howell Company in St.
Charles and later was employed as a production manager for the Elgin Rehab Center Shop.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Agnew (nee Bogusz), whom he married Sept. 25, 1947; son, Thomas (Eileen) Agnew Jr. of Omaha, Neb.; daughters, Kathy (David) Lewis and Veronica Riebock, both of Lake in the Hills; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Agnew; and sister, Frances Gillespie.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of Mass at 3 p.m. today, at the church.
Memorials to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Wait Ross Allanson Algonquin Chapel.

Andrew Mitchell Berman of Buffalo Grove
Services for Andrew Mitchell Berman, 53, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at Temple Chai, Checker Rd. (1/4 mile north of Lake-Cook Rd.) , west of Arlington Heights Rd., Long Grove.
Mr. Berman died suddenly while on vacation in Aman, Jordan. Interment will be in Shalom Memorial Park.
A lithographer and printing salesman, he was a lifelong member of Temple Chai, deeply involved with PADS serving the Northwest suburbs.
He was the dearly beloved husband of Barbara (nee Cohen); devoted father of Jennifer and Gregg; loving son of Gertrude and the late Sol Berman; son-in-law of Rebecca and Leonard Cohen; dear brother of Ira (Cheryl) Bermanand Leslie (Richard) Friedman; brother-in-law of Eileen (Neal) Sufrin and Nanette (Scott) Karoll; and friend of many.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Andy's name to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., #900, Chicago, IL 60604, would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by The Piser Chapel, Skokie.

Deborah A. Cordes formerly of Wheaton
Services for Deborah A. Cordes, 45, of Geneva, will be held at 6 p.m. today, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. (one block east of Naperville Rd.) , Wheaton.
Born June 18, 1953, she died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, in Geneva. Interment will be private.
A 1971 graduate of Pramus High School in Pramus, N. J., she worked for several years as a secretary at Madison School in Wheaton. Shewas most recently employed as a travel consultant at W. L. M.
Travel in Oak Brook. Mrs. Cordes was an avid bowler, very active in youth bowling programs at Wheaton Bowl and director of the Fox Valley Travel Association.
She was the loving wife of Gary; and beloved mother of Jennifer and Christopher.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the timeof the services today, at the funeral home.

Michael C. Debowski of Itasca
Memorial services for Michael C. Debowski, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at First Presbyterian Church, 207 E. Center, Itasca. Pastor David Maghakian will officiate.
Born Feb. 26, 1921, in Chicago, he died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Burial will be private.
Vice president of a savings and loan, he is survived by his wife, Mae (nee Carlson); children, Jane Pacelli and Michael (Cheryl) Debowski; and grandchildren, Mark (Kendra), Matthew and Michael.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or First Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements were made by The Oaks Funeral Home, Itasca.

Earl R. Donoho Sr.
Funeral services for Earl R. Donoho Sr., 74, of Redondo Beach, Calif., will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Kings Harbor Foursquare Church, in Redondo Beach.
Born April 19, 1925, in Arling, Idaho, he died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at his home.
Burial will be in Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
Mr. Donoho was retired from American Airlines.
Surviving are his wife, Fairabee M. Donoho (nee Bennett); sons, Earl R. (Eleanore Allanson) Donoho II of Elgin, Stephen (Tina) Donoho of Geneseo, Ill., and John (Diane) Donoho of Redondo Beach; brother, Paul (Nancy) Donoho of Carson, Calif.; sisters, June Figueredo of Garden Grove, Calif., and Ruby (Jim) Simpson of Wilmington, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, at White & Day Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach.
