Linden Holland
CARRIER MILLS - Linden Holland, 63, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He retired from the Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietname War and the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Carrier Mills American Legion and the Creal Springs Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Phyllis (Pearson) Holland; a daughter, Cathy Holland-Rix of Carrier Mills; a son, Richard of Indianapolis; two stepdaughters, Geral Ann Escue of Carrier Mills and Cindy Reeder of Harrisburg; a stepson, John Robinson of Simpson; two sisters, Lois Kerley of Goreville and Leann Cremeens of Equality; a brother, Richard of Vienna, Ill.; two grandchildren, Ashley and Aaron Holland; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Felty Funeral Home, with burial in Taylor Cemetery
near Vienna, Ill., with military rites.

Byron Kelley
CISNE - Byron Lee Kelley, 67, of Weatherford, Okla., formerly of Cisne, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro, Okla., of apparent heart failure.
He retired as an oil and gas consultant for Ladd Petroleum in 1990.
Surviving are his wife, Belle (Stockton) Kelley; a daughter, Cynthia Bequette of St. Louis; a son, Greg of Lakeland, Fla.; his mother, Della Cooper of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Evelyn Milner of Springfield, Mo., and Nadine Kern of DuQuoin; a brother, Ernie of Crescent, Okla.; five grandchildren, Shane and Olivia Kelley, Nicole Steel and Christina and Jeramy Witbeck; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Cisne Cemetery.

Infant Jeremiah Rusk
MOUNT CARMEL - Infant Jeremiah Lee Rusk, the son of Rusty and Jody (Shaw) Rusk, was stillborn Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.
Also surviving are a sister, Emily Rusk of Mount Carmel; a brother, Zachary Ridgway of Mount Carmel; his grandparents, Wayne and Elaine Shaw and Walter and Jan Jackson; and great-grandparents.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Short Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Irene Crisel
ALBION - Irene (Spicer) Crisel, 90, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Wabash Christian Retirement Home in Carmi.
She was an election judge for many years in the Dixon Precinct.
She was an active member of the Edwards County Home Extention, was a past director of the Senior Citizens and was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church in White County.
Surviving are her husband of 73 years, Earl Crisel; two sons, Jerry of Mount Vernon, Ill., and John of Zionsville, Ind.; and four grandsons, Bradley, Nathan, Ryan and Alex Crisel.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, William Alvin.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ingram Funeral Home Albion Chapel, with burial in Centerville Cemetery
in rural White County.

John Myers
CARMI - John R. Myers, 58, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield of apparent heart failure.
He retired as a plant manager from Trelleborg-Yale South Haven after 35 years.
Surviving are four daughters, Dawn Williams and April Thomas, both of Carmi, Patty Clark of Springerton and Shannon Roesch of Grayville; his mother, Roberta Marcincavage of Bloomingdale, Mich.; two sisters, Jeanette Montgomery of Bloomingdale and Karen Graham of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, Bert of South Haven, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Kalyn and Kyle Williams, Ashley and Josh Woodrow, Paige and Lindi Roesch and Brittany and Kaley Thomas; and a special friend, Beverly Meyer of Scotsburg, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay Titus, in 1981.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Campbell Funeral Home Carmi Chapel, with burial in North Maple Ridge Cemetery.

Alberta Leach
BRIDGEPORT - Alberta Echo (Lewis) Leach, 85, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville.
She and her first husband operated a grocery store in Bridgeport for several years and later operated Claycomb Wholesale Grocery in Kansas City, Mo.
She was a member of the Women's Club, the Garden Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and New Hope Christian Church.
Surviving are a stepson, Steve Leach of Lawrenceville; a sister, Ellen Smith of Bridgeport; a stepgranddaughter, Kimberly Gaither; and a stepgreat-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George A. Claycomb, in 1968, and her second husband, Paul Leach, in 1993.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Smith Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, with burial in Crest Haven Cemetery
in Claremont.

Clora Bates
CARMI - Clora (Newcomb) Bates, 95, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at White County Medical Center Skilled Care Unit.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane Absher and Sue Endicott, both of Carmi; a son, Kermit of Carmi; a half sister, Eva Moore of Evansville; five grandchildren, Ron Absher, Denny Bates, Fred Kendall, Anita Brown and Alan Blazier; seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Betty Young.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Bates, in 1961.

Marietta Henson
CARMI - Marietta (Endicott) Henson, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at her home.
She was a graduate of Crossville High School.
She was a longtime employee at Mar-Lee Dress Shop and Beans Jewelry and retired as a bookkeeper for Harry Phil Pearce.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and First United Methodist Church of Carmi.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Wetzel of Princeton, Ind., and Marjorie Kell of Carmi; and three nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Maier, in 1946; and her second husband, Gerald C. "Jerry" Henson, in 1995.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home Carmi Chapel, with burial in White County Memorial Garden Cemetery.

OBLONG - Mary Marie (Taylor) Catt, 77, of Indianapolis, formerly of Oblong, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at St. Vincent's Hospital of renal failure and congestive heart failure.
She was a member of Shiloh Christian Church in Willow Hill.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Rudy of Indianapolis; three sons, Clarence "Clancey" of Oblong, John of South Dakota and Gregory of Glendale, Ky.; a sister, Martha Lou Taylor of Pine Knot, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Russell Catt, in 1998; and a son, Melvin Russell Catt, in 1981.
Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. EST Saturday at St. Luke's Methodist Church in Indianapolis.
