Mr. Chandler was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of John F. and Iola Kellner Chandler. He worked for Vernon Butler in Kenney, Obermeyer Transfer Co., E. Kent & Co. and city of Clinton street department, retiring in 1982. He married Bessie P. Matheny Nov. 7, 1938, in Clinton.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, June M. Bowrey of Clinton; grandchildren, Rob Michael (Tammy) of Clinton; Jeff Michael (Tina) of Clinton; Jim Michael (Angel) of Florida; Joey Michael (Tracy) of Clinton; David Fry (Valorie) of Oakley; Pamela Sue MacDougal (Dan) of Clinton; Becky J. Stephens (Danny) of Clinton; stepgranddaughter, Elizabeth Gibbs (Dareyl) of Decatur; 10 great-grandchildren; 11 great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy D. Michael; parents; one brother; one sister and one son-in-law.

Mr. Howe was born Dec. 19, 1961, in Lincoln, the son of Keith and Janice Lowe Howe. He was a Mount Pulaski postal worker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Chestnut. He was an assistant girls basketball coach at Mount Pulaski Grade School. He married Wanda Jean Eckert Sept. 6, 1985, in Lincoln.
Surviving are his mother of Lincoln; daughters, Tiffany (Joseph) Kretzinger, Traci Howe and Jordan Howe, all of Chestnut; grandmother, Marge Marquis of Mount Pulaski; granddaughter, Skye Kretzinger of Chestnut; sister: Robina Yvonne (Warren) Ray of Mars Hill, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his father, Keith "Pete" Howe June 3, 1987.

DECATUR -- Lawrence E. Albert, 99, of Decatur, formerly of Warrensburg, died 12:30 p.m. Thursday (May 31, 2001) in Lincoln Manor Nursing Center.

Lawrence was born March 5, 1902, in Warrensburg, the son of John Enos and Elva Lena Hubbard Albert Sr. He retired from farming after 51 years. He was a member of Warrensburg United Methodist Church, having served as president in 1959 and 1960. He was a member of Macon County Farm Bureau, past president and member of Macon County Fair Board and past president and member of Macon County Health Improvement Association. He was on the Warrensburg Village and Zoning Board and a Democratic election judge for more than 60 years. He and his wife belonged to various square dance clubs for more than 25 years. He married Rena Mae Rogers in Harmony Church in Austin Township on June 19, 1926. She preceded him in death April 10, 1995.
Surviving are his son, Earl Dean Albert and wife Virginia of Davenport, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Chloe Albert of Decatur; grandchildren, Linda Drowns and husband Glenn of Calamus, Iowa; Martyn D. Albert and wife Norma of Davenport, Iowa; Patricia Vanatta and husband Rex of Union, Mo.; Robert E. Albert of Florida; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elva Lena Collins of Herrick; sister-in-law, Lulu Spittler of Decatur; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Patricia; son, Paul; four sisters and one brother.

DECATUR -- Gertrude Dotson Irons-Coburn, 82, of Decatur died 10 p.m. Saturday (May 26, 2001) in her home.
Homegoing services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in House of Faith COGIC with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. J.J. Moran and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Coburn was born Oct. 27, 1918, in Ware, Miss., the daughter of John and Lora Bevly Dotson. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Temple and Deliverance Center COGIC, where she was a member of the Mother's Board. She married Raymond Irons Sr. in 1941. He preceded her in death March 21, 1978. She then married James B. "J.B." Coburn Feb. 3, 1982. He preceded her in death Aug. 3, 2000.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her sons, Raymond Irons Jr. and wife Shirley of Decatur; John L. Irons and wife Mildred of Decatur; Kerry C. Irons and wife Sandra of Illiopolis; Lester Y. Irons of Decatur; daughters, Lois J. LeFlore of Decatur; Sandra J. Jones and husband Frederick of Decatur; brothers Brazil Dotson and wife Mary of Peoria; Thurman Dotson and wife Dorothy of Decatur; Roy Dotson Sr. and wife Bessie of Joliet; Franklin R. Dotson Sr. and wife Ella Ruth of Decatur; Verdie Dotson and wife Louise of Decatur; sisters Louise Robinson of Muncie, Ind.; Retha Hicks of Kansas City, Mo.; stepson, Anthony Coburn and wife Patty of Sullivan; stepdaughter, Florence Irons of Chicago; 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sons, one sister and one brother.
