Dragstrem

NIANTIC -- Harold E. Dragstrem, 81, of Florida, formerly of Niantic, died Monday (June 24, 2001).

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Fairlawn Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Save the Children Foundation, 54 Wilton Road, West Port, CT 06881 or donor's choice.

Mr. Dragstrem was born in Niantic on Jan. 21, 1920, the son of Rolla and Sarah Jacobson Dragstrem. He farmed in Macon, Sangamon and Christian counties. He was a member of Niantic Christian Church, a 1943 graduate of the University of Illinois and a member of the Phi Delta Pheta fraternity. He was also an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his daughter, Alice Craig of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren, Stephanie Nix and husband Trevis of Greenwood, Ind.; Tara Williams of Holmes Beach, Fla; great-granddaughter, Samantha Nix of Greenwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one infant son.

Foster

DECATUR -- James Henry Foster, 75, of Decatur died 2:25 a.m. Wednesday (June 27, 2001) in St. Mary's Hospital.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Mount Gilead Cemetery with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Memorials: St. John's Hospice of St. Mary's Hospital.

Mr. Foster was born in Decatur, the son of Henry Barnett and Sena Ellizabeth Logue Foster. He had worked as a crane operator and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 1965. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater as a bosun mate of LST 756 from 1944 to 1946. He enjoyed working with wood in his woodshop. He married Delores M. Qualls in Decatur on Aug. 27, 1948.

Surviving are his wife; sons, James H. Foster Jr. of Bettendorf, Iowa; Joseph W. Foster of Decatur; daughter, Valerie K. Meadows of Decatur; brothers, Clarence Foster and wife Maxine of Decatur; Larry Foster and wife Sally of Findlay; Danny Joe Foster and wife Pam of Decatur; Barney Foster and wife Margaret of Decatur; sister, Georgia Mundell of Decatur; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

King

DECATUR -- Paul Leon King, 85, of Decatur died 2:55 a.m. Wednesday (June 27, 2001) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Grace United Methodist Church TV Ministry.

Mr. King was born July 23, 1915, in Schell City, Mo., the son of William A. and Lucy Onweller King. He was a machinist for Tryco Mfg. Co. and retired in 1980. He married Elizabeth J. Robertson in Paxton on Nov. 24, 1936.

Surviving are his wife; son, Charles Arthur King and wife Janet Sue of Concord N.C.; daughters, Carolyn Y. and husband E. Larry Bundy of Monticello; Linda K. and husband Dennis E. Kopp of Macomb; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Opal Behrens of Milford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Phyllis Ann, two brothers and one sister.

Patrick

DECATUR -- Rosevelt Patrick, 88, Decatur, died Tuesday (June 26, 2001).

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by: Walker Funeral Services and Chapel.

Pritchett

DECATUR -- Velcie Vernell Pritchett, 76, of Decatur died 12:04 p.m. Tuesday (June 26, 2001) in Fair Havens Christian Home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in McKinney Chapel, Lake of Egypt. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home and one hour before services. Burial will be in McKinney Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Fair Havens Christian Home.

Mrs. Pritchett was born in Benton on Aug. 13, 1924, the daughter of Richard and Effie Ward Bridges. She was a homemaker and member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Decatur. She married Arthur B. Pritchett on March 2, 1946. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1999.

Surviving are her children, Patricia Wiggins and husband Alexander of Plymouth, Wis.; Wanda Ferguson and husband Robert of South Elgin; Sharon Rooney and husband Donald of Elgin; Ronald Pritchett and wife Kim of Mount Zion; Ruth Lee and husband John of Oakland; Candace Roady and husband Chuck of Mattoon; Norma Reed and husband Glen of Decatur; Janette Auvil and husband Bill of Decatur; Michael Pritchett and wife Betty of Dalton City; brother, Elza C. Bridges and wife Sharon of Cottonwood, Ariz.; sister, Priscilla B. Smith of Glendale, Ariz; 18 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers and one great-grandchild.

Richardson

DECATUR -- Morris Glenn Richardson, 93, of Decatur died Monday (June 25, 2001) in Manor Care Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Friendship Hill Retirement Center.

Morris was born in Lovington on Sept. 9, 1907, the son of John Wesley and Pearl A. Murray Richardson. He previously attended St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bethany and was retired from Veterans Administration, Tacoma, Wash. He served in the Army during World War II and worked for several years at Illinois Power Co.

Surviving are his nieces and nephews, Jan Beadles (Gary) of Decatur; Eileen Linton of Mount Zion; Lloyd Richardson (Betty) of Gulf Shores, Ala; Curt Richardson and wife Peg of Fort Myers, Fla.; Sharon Hixson of Decatur; Betty Swords (Bob) of Alabama; John Evans of Decatur; Linda Ridenour (Mike) of Bloomington; great-niece and great-nephews, Timothy, Sarah, Jonathan and Andrew, whom he enjoyed spoiling. He is also survived by several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bluford Murray Richardson and Raymond Elsworth Richardson; and three sisters, Letha Fern Richardson, Mrs. Clarke (Jean) Linton and Mrs. Doris Lorraine Evans.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Manor Care for their care and support.

Ridley

DECATUR -- Leroy Ridley, 77, of Decatur died 10:04 a.m. Monday (June 25, 2001) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in First Church of God In Christ with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service & Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Leroy was born June 4, 1924, in Nashville, Tenn., to the union of the late Wil and Mamie Ridley. Leroy gave his life to Christ in May 2001. He moved to Decatur in 1943, where he met and married the former Delores A. Harvey in 1948. He worked for Binder Plumbing and Heating Inc. until retiring.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Delores; son, Michael D. (Clemmie) Ridley of Tucson, Ariz.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.

Twitchell

DECATUR -- Mary Christina Luthey Twitchell, 83, Decatur, died Monday (June 25, 2001).

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Cedarwood Nursing Center.

Burgund

ROBINSON -- Henrietta A. Burgund, 80, Washington, Ill., formerly of Robinson, retired from Robinson Electronics, died Tuesday (June 26, 2001).

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong. Visitation: two hours before services. Burial: Oblong Cemetery.

Chenoweth

CLINTON -- Hazel B. Chenoweth, 88, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Clinton, died May 5, 2001, in San Diego.

A Celebration of Life will be 7 p.m. Friday in Clinton Presbyterian Church with the Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials: American Diabetes. Foundation or American Heart Association.

Mrs. Chenoweth was born Nov. 1, 1912, in Glen County, Calif., the daughter of David LaRue and Bessie McDermott. She was a member of Clinton Presbyterian Church. She was a federal employee, retiring from the ASCS office after 25 years of service. She will be most remembered for her love of family and friends and her generosity and passion for all things beautiful. She married Dale Chenoweth in California in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1990.

Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Chenoweth of Michigan; grandchildren, Darrilyn Fraser of Washington; Camela Diaz of Michigan; Deron Albright of New York; Cory Albright of Washington; Angela Farrell of New Jersey; and Christopher Farrell of Missouri; several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Toni; sons, David and Gregory; one brother; and two sisters.

Collyard

DUNDAS -- Frank Collyard, 47, Dundas, died Tuesday (June 27, 2001). Arrangements incomplete: Summers-Kistler Funeral Homes, Olney.

Conner

ARCOLA -- John J. Conner, 94, Arcola, died Wednesday (June 27, 2001). Arrangements incomplete: Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola.

Cummings

HIDALGO -- Guy O. Cummings, 96, Hidalgo, retired from Ettelbrick Shoe Co., died Wednesday (June 27, 2001).

Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Barkley Funeral Home, Greenup. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial: Hays Cemetery, Hidalgo. Memorials: Hidalgo Independent Christian Church.
