Mrotzek

DECATUR -- Owen Stanley Mrotzek, 42, of Pana, formerly of Decatur, passed away 10:06 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2002) in Pana Community Hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Flaugher. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: donor's choice.

Mr. Mrotzek was born April 16, 1959, in Decatur, the youngest son of Paul Herman and Gladys Louise Barger Mrotzek. He had previously been a custodian of the Whit's End Tavern in Decatur. He had been active with the DAV and Whit's End softball for five years. He enjoyed weight lifting.

Surviving are his mother of Decatur; brothers, Jerry, Ron, Brian and David Mrotzek, all of Decatur; Robert Mrotzek of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Dorothy Ransdale of Alpine, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Charles Littrel.

Powell

DECATUR -- J. Frank "Sonny" Powell Jr., 63, Decatur, died 5:35 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2002) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Mr. Powell was born June 28, 1938, in Decatur, the son of J. Frank and Evelyn W. Wiseman Powell Sr. He graduated from Cerro Gordo High School and attended Millikin University. He and his father formerly owned and operated Powell's Mobil Service, worked at Essex Wire and Cable Co. and owned and operated Cerro Mix (Powell's Redi-Mix) in Cerro Gordo. He most recently worked at GB Oil Co.

Surviving are his daughter, Kristin Ross and husband Terry of Washington; sons, Kevin Powell of Decatur; Kent Powell and wife Lisa of McMinnville, Tenn.; former wife, Ellen Cunningham Walters; grandchildren, Amanda, Kassey, Megan, Sara; sister, Winnie "Cookie" Feriozzi and husband Louis of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Sonny will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.

Puckett

DECATUR -- Leona L. Puckett, 83, Decatur, homemaker, died Monday (Feb. 4, 2002).

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial: Tower Hill Cemetery.

White

DECATUR -- Evangelist Benjamin B. White, 56, Decatur, former pastor, died Friday (Feb. 1, 2002).

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Church of the Living God Temple 3. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by: Walker Funeral Service & Chapel.

Dalluge

BLUE MOUND -- Takako "Tak" Dalluge, 77, of Manhattan, Kan., formerly of Blue Mound, died 2:30 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 2002) in Mercy Health Center, Manhattan, after suffering from cancer and complications of Parkinson's disease, which she had suffered for more than 20 years.

Services and visitation were Wednesday in Manhattan. Local memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, in First Christian Church, Blue Mound. Private inurnment will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound, at a later date. Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, Manhattan, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Flint Hills Parkinson's Disease Support Group or KSU Foundation for the Center for Basic Cancer Research.

Takako was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Nagoya, Japan, the daughter of Rinkichi Naito and Utako Kitamura. She lived in Blue Mound for many years before moving with her husband to Manhattan in 1979 and continued to have a special fondness for her brothers and sisters-in-law. Since coming to Manhattan, she had been a member of the ladies golf group at the Manhattan Country Club and dearly loved the sport, but more importantly, she loved the many special friends she made. She was active with neighbors and friends in a bridge group, which she enjoyed very much until her poor health no longer permitted her to participate. She was a member of First Christian Church, Manhattan, but was unable to attend in recent years.

She attended a Presbyterian Missionary School until World War II interrupted her education. She later graduated from the Nanzan Catholic University in Nagoya. She married Gilbert Glen Dalluge on Jan. 7, 1951, in Nagoya. Because of U.S. immigration laws at the time, following her marriage, it was necessary for a private law to be enacted by Congress to make it possible for her to enter the country when her husband returned in 1952. Takako
became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1957 in Springfield.

Surviving are her husband; sons, Paul Dalluge of Marshalltown, Iowa; Mike Dalluge of Springfield; Steve Dalluge of Wichita, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Maurine Dalluge of Marshalltown; grandsons, James, Robert, Derek and Kyle, all of Marshalltown; brothers, Dean Dalluge and wife Betty of Decatur; William Dalluge and wife Nelda of Blue Mound; sister-in-law, Gladys True of Willowbrook; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sadauki.

Snipes

DECATUR -- Worthan "Joe" Snipes, 86, of Decatur died 9:10 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2002) in his residence.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice or St. John's Hospital Heart Center, Springfield.

Mr. Snipes was born March 12, 1915, in Tupelo, Miss., the son of Edgar Tate and Tressia Elsie Moore Snipes. He came to Decatur in 1944 from Granite City to work at the Houdille- Hershey war plant. After the war, he worked for A.W. Cash Valve and retired from Hooker Glass & Paint Co. Joe was a member of the Moose Lodge 684, Elks 401 and American Legion Post 105. He loved all sports and was a former baseball player with the 1947 champion Decatur Blues baseball club. He was an avid bowler and golfer and had race horses for a number of years. Joe married Emily M. Robb May 27, 1988, in Salem, Va.

Surviving are his wife; brother, Jim Snipes of Granite City; sister, Birdie Snipes Welshusen of St. Louis; stepchildren, Danny L. Robb of Decatur; Trudy A. Sparr of Naples, Fla.; stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; sister, Florida M. Batson; and brother, Edgar Tate Snipes Jr.

Joe loved life and will be missed by all the lives he touched.

Senger

DECATUR -- Joseph Peter "Pete" Senger, 80, of Decatur died Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2002) in his home.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas Catholic Church, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church or St. Teresa High School.

Mr. Senger was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Decatur, the son of Leo H. and Alvina Martens Senger. Mr. Senger attended St. James Catholic School and St. Teresa High School. He was employed with his father in the grocery business before his employment with Western Electric Co. and Illinois Commercial Telephone Co. in Monticello. He retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co. after 33 years of service. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers, served as Army sergeant in World War II, 33rd Sig. Co.-Illinois 33rd Inf. Div. in the South Pacific and Philippine Liberation, was a member of 33rd Sig. Co. Org. in Chicago and supported Paralyzed Veterans of America. He married Rose Mary Durbin June 24, 1950, in Monticello.

Surviving are his wife; son, Daniel J. Senger and wife Lois of Cerro Gordo; daughters, Rosanne Reidner and husband Jack of Ogden; Theresa Campbell of Springfield; Lenora "Nora" Reed and husband Dan of Maroa; Mary McGlade and husband Bob of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; son, Anthony Peter Senger; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Street

DECATUR -- Daniel E. Street, 38, Decatur, died Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2002). Arrangements incomplete: Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes.

Williams

DECATUR -- Eddie Williams, 74, Decatur, owner/ operator of Williams TV & Record Mart, died Friday (Feb. 1, 2002).

Services: noon Friday, Trinity CME Church. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Graceland Cemetery, with military rites. Arrangements by: Walker Funeral Service & Chapel.

Glasscock

WINDSOR -- Ricky Lynn Glasscock, 40, of Windsor died 6:52 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2002) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor, with the Rev. Richard Eident officiating. Visitation will be two hours before services. Burial will be in Ash Grove Cemetery, near Windsor. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House or American Cancer Society.

He was born Feb. 10, 1961, in Decatur, the son of David G. and Mary M. Bence Glasscock. He graduated from Lakeview High School and attended Millikin University and the University of Missouri-Rolla. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and the Experimental Aircraft Association in Osh Kosh, Wis. He was employed by Archer Daniels Midland Co. in the Byproducts Laboratory. He married Elaine J. Ehrich June 11, 1985, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife; mother, Mary Glasscock of Decatur; father and stepmother, David and Barbara Glasscock of Flagler Beach, Fla.; brothers, David Glasscock and wife Paula of Lakewood, Colo.; George Glasscock and wife Teresa of Wausua, Wis.; sister, Vicki Ehrmann and husband Ed of Brighton, Colo.; nephews, David Michael Glasscock and wife Chris; Thomas Ehrmann ; Micheal Ehrmann; nieces, Allison Oja, Rachel Oja, Emily Erhmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry "Bud" and June Ehrich of Birchwood, Wis.; sister-in-law, Ellen Ehrich Martinez of Chicago.

Minter

EFFINGHAM -- Randall K. Minter, 48, Effingham, welder, died Sunday (Feb. 3, 2002).
