DECATUR -- Aldwin Eugene Morris, 84, of Washington, Mo., formerly of Decatur, died Jan. 25, 2003, in St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington, Mo.
Services were Wednesday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Washington, Mo., with the Revs. Mark Bangert and Joel Schultz officiating. Interment was in Washington Presbyterian Cemetery. Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington, Mo., handled arrangements. Memorials: Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Mr. Morris was born July 23, 1918, in Decatur, the son of the late Hershel T. and Florence Smith Morris. He received his education from Decatur High School and continued his education and graduated from the University of Illinois. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mr. Morris was employed at the COOP CFD Grain Market and later as an insurance broker for the Constitutional Insurance Co. He married Norma Morenz on June 6, 1943, in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife; son, David Morris and wife Pam Curran of Pontiac, Mich.; daughter, Ruth Ann Brown and husband Victor of Augusta; sister-in-law, Lora Tomamichel of Lombard; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Alpha Morris, Adrian Morris, Arlie Morris and Arthur Morris.

DECATUR -- Dennis Welker, 48, of Decatur died 12:48 p.m. Friday (Jan. 31, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Welker was born March 9, 1954, in Decatur, the son of Larry and Norma Jean Armstrong Welker. He was a draftsman for Borg-Warner Corp. and served in the Air Force.
Surviving are his father; sister, Rita Welker; sons, Shanon Welker and Michael Welker; daughters, Sherria Turnbo, Paula Welker, Melissa Welker and Nicole Welker; nieces, Rachael Mosier, Natalie and Jacquelyn; grandchildren, Brianna Casias, Violet Turnbo and Jasmine Turnbo.
He was preceded in death by his mother; sister, Pamela; and daughter, Cynthia.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Decatur Memorial Hospital ICU for all their care and support.
Mildred Hawk, formerly of Niantic, dies at 102
NIANTIC -- Mildred O. Hawk, 102, St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Niantic, entered into rest Monday (Feb. 3, 2003).
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Long Point Cemetery, Niantic. Kutis Funeral Home, St. Louis, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to donor's choice.
Mildred was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ, St. Louis, and the dear daughter of the late John and Eda Hawk. She will be remembered as a dear aunt, cousin and friend.
