Strozier
DECATUR -- Lillie Mary Strozier, 81, of Decatur died 3 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2003) in Aspen Ridge Care Centre.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Walker Funeral Service and Chapel with the Rev. Robert Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Strozier was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Decatur, the daughter of Ernest and Bertha Kennedy. She retired from Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, Mich. She married Joe Strozier. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sister, Mattie Harvey of Decatur; brother, Merlin Kennedy of Bloomington; son, Raybert Dean of Atlanta, Ga.; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one son.
Morris
DECATUR -- George W. "Bill" Morris, 68, of Waco, Texas, formerly of St. Joseph and Decatur, died 3:30 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 20, 2003) in Providence Hospital, Waco.
Services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in Freese Funeral Home, St. Joseph, with the Rev. Mike Mack officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: American Diabetes. Association.
Mr. Morris was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Decatur, the son of Robert Julian Morris Sr. and Margaret Letitia Ross Morris. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1953. He apprenticed at the Decatur Herald and worked as a pressman at both the Courier and News Gazette newspapers in Champaign-Urbana. He served on the St. Joseph Elementary School board and as a volunteer for the St. Joseph Scout Pack 40. He was an avid Cubs, Bears and Illini fan and traveler. He was always looking forward to his next trip. He married Glenda Mullis in 1958.
Surviving are his sons, Brad Morris of Waco; Tim Morris of St. Joseph; Stephen Morris of Granger, Ind.; daughter, Penny Gutierrez of Libertyville; seven grandchildren; brother, Robert J. Morris of Goshen, Ind.; sister, Nancy Anne Walker of Fairplay, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

PANA -- James A. Gordon, 82, of Pana died 6:25 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 20, 2003) in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pana, with the Rev. John A. Frahm III officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana, with military rites by Pana VFW Post 4431. Memorials: St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mr. Gordon was born March 6, 1920, in Pana, the son of Roscoe Everett and Cynthia Hilliard Gordon. He lived most of his life in Pana, but also lived in Kincaid and Rockford for a short time. He was a graduate of Pana High School. Mr. Gordon was a staff sergeant in the
Army, serving during World War II. He retired from PPG Industries Inc. in Mount Zion April 23, 1982, after 23 years of service. He worked in coal mining in Central Illinois before going to work for PPG. He used to work on electronics repair as a hobby. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of Pana VFW Post 4431. He married Winifred "Winnie" Harrold on Oct. 4, 1941, in the First United Methodist Church, Nokomis. She preceded him in death June 14, 1992.
Surviving are his children, Joseph L. "Joe" Gordon and wife Carol of Pana; Georgette Merrifield and husband Bill of Pana; grandchildren, James Gordon, Kelli Smith, Wendy Law, Rhonda Tobias, Kathy Kindred and William Merrifield Jr.; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, John Gordon; brothers, Donald, Roscoe, Robert, George and Carter Gordon; and sister, Norma Virden.

Marcia was born Jan. 5, 1959, in Decatur, the daughter of William "Bill" and Irene Troxell Fleming. She was a licensed counselor for ABC Counseling in Decatur and attended the Lovington First Church of God.
Surviving are her mother of Lovington; brother, Steve Fleming and wife Jayme of Lovington; nephew, Aaron Fleming of Lovington; several aunts, uncles and cousins; her dog, Kali.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.

TOVEY -- Leona Mae "Nonnie" Tex, 75, of Tovey died 12:10 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 20, 2003) in her home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, with the Rev. Francis Hudson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.
Mrs. Tex was born Feb. 25, 1927, in Taylorville, the daughter of Otis and Mary "Mamie" Graham Owens. She was a retired cook for the Triangle Supper Club in Stonington. She married Darrell "Jack" Tex on Jan. 26, 1961, in Union City, Tenn. He preceded her in death Dec. 25, 1992.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Audrey Lahr and husband Bill of Tovey; sisters, Rita Crowder of Tovey; Florence Ellrich of Lafayette, Ind.; Theotis "Stubs" Davis of Edinburg; Theresa Thomas of Kincaid; Marilyn Wilson of Taylorville; Meda Ann Durbin of Morrisonville; brother, Don Owens of Nokomis; grandchildren, Terri Thomas and husband Jerry and Sherri Wadkins and husband Tim, all of Tovey; three great-grandchildren; niece and caretaker, June Smith of Tovey; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Clifford Kunz in October 1972; and brother, Doug Owens.
