DECATUR -- William L. Wierman, 88, Decatur, retired Decatur attorney, passed away 3:30 p.m. Saturday (March 15, 2003) in his home.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, with military rites by Inter-Burial Detail of Sangamon County. Memorials: Decatur Public Library Foundation.
He is survived by one sister and two nephews.
Williams
DECATUR -- Jean Morris Williams, 70, of Decatur passed away Saturday (March 15, 2003) in her home with her family.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Entombment will be in Star of Hope Mausoleum. Memorials: Millikin University or DMH Home Health & Hospice Services.
Jean was born May 13, 1932, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Emmet and Marie Florence Falb Morris. She married Dr. James E. Williams on June 11, 1955, in Maywood. He preceded her in death Dec. 19, 2002. Mrs. Williams was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pi Beta Phi, PEO Chapter MH, Junior Welfare and a Millikin University alumni volunteer. She was a former member of Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Dennis School PTA, Decatur Country Club, Decatur Club and Dental Wives. She was a graduate of Millikin University in 1954.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Brit Williams and wife Lee; grandchildren, Lauralee and James, both of Clinton; daughter, Dare Patterson and husband Kent; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kacy, both of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Yoder
DECATUR -- Genevieve May Yoder, 84, of Decatur died Saturday (March 15, 2003) in Houston, Texas.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Long Creek United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Long Creek United Methodist Church.
Genevieve was born Aug. 5, 1918, in Clinton, the daughter of Lewis and Emma Miller Duff. She worked for the US Postal Service Star Route from 1958 to 1974, helped her husband on their farm and was an election judge for 40 years in Long Creek Township. She was a member of Long Creek United Methodist Church for 70 years, where she served on various boards and committees, Macon County Farm Bureau and Home Extension. She was very involved in community affairs and events throughout her life. She loved spending time with family, quilting, taking pictures and was known for her white cake and noodles. She married Andrew James Yoder Jr. on April 10, 1937, in Long Creek United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1996.
Surviving are her children, Mary J. Warner and husband Robert of Cowden; L. David Yoder and wife Linda and C. Sue Clendenen, all of Decatur; Edward D. Yoder and wife Cheryl and Christine E. Carlson and husband Robert, all of Oakley; Terry J. Yoder and wife Beverly of Assumption; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 20 great-stepgrandchildren; sister-in-law, Eileen Heller.
She was preceded in death by he parents; husband; daughter, D. Elaine Yoder; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Nicole Albrecht; brother, Leo Duff; sister, Alta Simmons; two sisters in infancy; five step siblings.

Branyan
ASSUMPTION -- Mildred Grace "Milly" Branyan, 85, of Assumption passed away 10:15 a.m. Sunday (March 16, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials: First United Methodist Church, Assumption.
Milly was born Oct. 28, 1917, in Moweaqua, the daughter of Ray and May McConnell White. She worked in a garment factory and at Caterpillar Inc. during World War II. She was a beauty operator and a Fleetwood Oil Co., Moweaqua, employee.
Most of her life she spent as a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting and baking her prize-winning cakes. She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star, Tacusah chapter, in Assumption, and was past worthy matron. She had a 50-year pin from Royal Neighbors of America, was a member of Christian County Farm Bureau and First United Methodist Church. She married Marvin "Mike" Mathias in 1940, and they adopted a son, Terry Michael. Marvin preceded her in death in 1956.
She later married Leland Branyan on Jan. 7, 1962, in Moweaqua, and they spent many happy years together buying and selling antiques, driving their Model T Ford in parades, attending steam engine shows and spending winters in Fort Myers, Fla. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 2003.
Surviving are her sister, Margaret Lee of Decatur; sister-in-law, Jane White of Moweaqua; stepdaughters, Janae Weinhold of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Marla Rose of Assumption; Sharon Golden of Harlingen, Texas; stepdaughter-in-law, Janet Branyan of Assumption; two nieces and a nephew; 10 stepgrandchildren; 10 great-stepgrandchildren; brother-in-law, Morris Mathias and wife Marceleen of Kenney; sister-in-law, Helen Reid and husband Don of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Wilma Lampert of Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob White; first husband; second husband; son, Terry Mathias, in 1988; stepson, Richard Branyan; brother-in-law, Norman Lee.

Chapman
CERRO GORDO -- Lawrence R. "Larry" Chapman, 69, of Frontenac Estates, Mo., died March 6, 2003, of a heart attack while on vacation in Jacksonville, Fla.
Visitation was at an earlier date in Bopp Chapel, Kirkwood, Mo. The body was cremated. Memorials: Cerro Gordo High School Alumni Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of State Bank of Cerro Gordo. Sympathy may be extended to the family at 18 Frontenac Estates, St. Louis, Mo. 63131.
Mr. Chapman was born March 8, 1933, to Bertram Lee and Lorraine Wilson Chapman. A retired St. Louis, Mo. businessman, he was a native of Cerro Gordo and co-valedictorian of his high school Class of 1951. In 1955, he received a bachelor's degree in marketing from the College of commerce at the University of Illinois. Soon after his marriage, he served in the
Army and was honorably discharged in 1961. Mr. Chapman started his career as a sales trainee for IBM Corp. in New York and worked his way up the corporate ladder until he was named branch manager of the Pittsburgh office in 1969. Two years later, Mr. Chapman resigned from IBM and joined, as vice president, the old First Union Bancorporation in St. Louis in
1972. He resigned as senior vice president in 1984, after introducing the first automated teller machines in St. Louis. In 1984, Mr. Chapman started Chapman & Associates, a Clayton consulting firm. In 1988, he also took responsibilities as chief executive of Manna Pro Corp, an animal feed company, located in Los Angeles, Calif. He moved the company to the St. Louis area in 1990 and retired from both companies in 1998. Mr. Chapman served on the board of directors of In Roads, the American Feed Industry Association and the Arthritis Foundation, which he formerly served as president. He married Clare Lueking of St. Louis in October 1955.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years; sons, Lawrence R. Jr. of Webster Groves, Mo.; Gregory Chapman of Springfield, Mo.; daughters, Valerie Newton of Detroit, Mich.; Cammie Carlson of Creve Coeur; nine grandchildren; sisters, Ramona Henricks and Karen Hale, both of Cerro Gordo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sisters, Caroline Chapman and Martha Glennon.

Mrs. Gordon was born Dec. 27, 1911, in Mode, the daughter of Cyrus and Josie Flenniken Giles. She was a member of Holiday Church of Christ. She married Everett A. Gordon on Jan. 31, 1931, in Shelby County. He preceded her in death Dec. 9, 2001.
Surviving are her sons, Frank Gordon and Dale Gordon and wife Ethel, all of Cowden; Larry Gordon and wife Diana, Jimmie Gordon and wife Christine and Gary Gordon and wife Glenna, all of Beecher City; daughter, Jean Richards and husband Merlin "Pete" of Cowden; sisters-in-law, Mary Giles of Athens, Ala.; Mabel Gordon of Beecher City; 23 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Leroy, Stanley and Morris Dean; brothers, Glen and Charlie Giles.
