NASHVILLE -- H. Richard Ely, 89, died at 7:25 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at home. Arrangements are incomplete at Styninger-Krupp Funeral Home in Nashville.

Ivalee H. Travelstead

MARION -- Ivalee H. Travelstead, 95, of Marion, passed away with her son, Lynn, at her side at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Parkway Manor of Marion. She was born on April 9, 1909, in Williamson County, south of Marion, in the Hudgens Community, the daughter of Herman and Emily Dora (Newlin) Hudgens. At age 19, Ivalee was united in marriage to W. Robert 'Bob' Travelstead on Jan. 7, 1928, in Marion. Together they shared the next 65 years until his death came on Feb. 28, 1993. Her early working career was with the A. and P. Grocery Stores of Anna and Marion. She later became office manager working with her husband, Bob, at the Travelstead Insurance Agency of Marion, until her retirement. She has been a longtime dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Marion for many years. She was an active member of the Eastern Star in the past years and currently a member and Past Worthy Matron of the LeRoy A. Chapter No. 350 Order of the Eastern Star of Marion. She also had an interest in sewing and found enjoyment in creating clothing, gifts and other handmade items. She was a devoted wife and mother always seeing to the needs of her family and home. In her passing she leaves her son, Charles L. 'Lynn' Travelstead of Marion; granddaughter Penny Cremeens of Stillwater, Okla.; great-grandson, Jason Cremeens of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Rosemary Sims of Marion; brother, Max Herman Hudgens of Marion, several nieces and nephews, other family members and many longtime friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; grandson, Robert D. Travelstead on Sept. 1, 1999; grandson, James Bradford Cremeens on Aug. 7, 1989; four brothers, Virgil, Glendale, Zachariah and Carl; and sister, Geneva. Arrangements for Ivalee H. Travelstead have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court St., Marion, IL. The time of the visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today, Nov. 28, 2004, at the funeral home. An Eastern Star Service of Remembrance will be conducted at 5 p.m. today, by the members of LeRoy A. Chapter No. 350 Order of the Eastern Star of Marion. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, in Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home of Marion, with Dr. Joey Brent and the Rev. David Hancock presiding. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery of Marion, next to her husband.

Imogene Hudgens

MARION -- Imogene Melton Hudgens, 89, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Marion, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at National Health Center in St. Charles, Mo. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, with Imogene's grandnephew, the Rev. Keith Scarborough and Dr. Earl Haskins officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Guy Blake Allton

PLAINFIELD -- Guy Blake Allton, 30, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Northwestern Memorial Medical Center, Chicago. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with the Rev. Tom Foster officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. today and from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Allton was employed at the Center on Deafness in Northbrook. He was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church. He was born on Saturday, Feb. 16, 1974, in Joliet, to Kay Max Allton and Louella Marie (Loucks) Allton. Survivors include two daughters, Kaille Reice Allton, 5, and Skylar Christine Allton, 3, of Plainfield; his parents, K. Max and Louella Allton of Steeleville; two sisters, Lisa (Gary) Hintzsche of Plainfield and Michelle (Jeff) Wittenborn of Sparta; step-grandfather, Harold Sullivan of Zanesville, Ohio; five nephews, Robb and Tyler Hintzsche, Drake Maxwell Allton, Ryan and Tyler Wittenborn; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James W. and Mildred Thompson Loucks of Chester, grandparents, Harold and Ethel Allton of West Palm Beach, Fla. and grandmother, Mary Sullivan of Zanesville, Ohio.

Layne Gwattney

RALEIGH -- Layne Gwattney, 82, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Dewayne 'Sam' Keene

WEST FRANKFORT -- Dewayne 'Sam' Keene, 56, of West Frankfort, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Nov. 27, 2004, at the home of his daughter Kim. He was born on May 17, 1948, in Union City, Tenn., to A. S. Keene and Mildred (Darnell) Keene. He is survived by two daughters, Kim (Keene) Lee and husband, Carl and Victoria (Keene) Jordan and friend Greg Minor both of West Frankfort, by Bonnie Tatum of West Frankfort, the mother of his children. Also by grandchildren, Destiny McClement, Cody Lee, Derick and Dakota Jordan and Dustin Adams. He is also survived by two brothers, Wesley Keene of Sikeston, Mo., and Connie Keene of Columbus, Ky., and by sisters, Judy Connyers of Wickclyff, Ky., Shelby Dodd of Fredricktown, Mo., and Tina Hartline of Sikeston, Mo., by his little angels, Ceircy Carter, Brennan and Alec Franklin and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Scott Keene in 1989, and by two brothers, Gary Keene and Andrew Keene and his little angel Airiana Carter. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Herrin. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with G. L. Keene officiating. Burial will be in Boner Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday to Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Edward J. Lannon

CHESTER -- Edward J. Lannon, 80, was called home Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Memorial Hospital in Chester. Ed was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis Grove. He was a retired asbestos worker. He served in the Army during World War II. He was born on May 24, 1924, in St. Louis, the son of Archie E. and Hilda (Smith) Lannon. He married Rose M. Plant on Aug. 4, 1943, in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on May 30, 1997. He is survived by one daughter, Nancy G. Cox and husband Terry of Rockwood; grandson, Andy Cox; and two great-grandchildren, Autumn Rose and Lauren Cox. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He is also survived by his second wife, Louise; her son, Larry Costilow of Chester and her two daughter, Lisa White and Susan Yawn of Orlando, Fla. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, with the Rev. Eugene Wojcik officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Chester. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 28, 2004, and from 7:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester. They will then process to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester. Memorials may be made to Masses.

Robert Kosman

JOHNSTON CITY -- Robert Kosman, 70, died at 11:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, in Herrin Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City, with the Rev. Larry Stevens officiating. He is survived by his friends at the Villa House in Johnston City. Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Jane Meixsell

CARBONDALE -- Mary Jane Meixsell, 80, of Carbondale, died after a short illness at 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in St. Louis University Hospital. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on Nov. 25, 1924. Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Harrisburg, by Father Don Abell. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. It was her special wish that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to a charity of choice that will best contribute to the health and welfare of others. Also in accordance with her wishes her funeral will be private. In 1977, Mary Jane retired to Southern Illinois from the Ford Motor World Headquarters in Dearbon, Mich., where she worked as a supervisor of communications for more than 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Monte E. Meixsell of Carbondale; daughter, Patrice Meixsell-Draper; son-in-law, Cliff Draper; and grandson, Jack Draper of Brisbane, Australia; brother-in-law, Dr. Herald Brundage and wife, Linda Brundage of Glendale, Calif. She stood by the side of her loving husband for more than 54 years. Truly mourned by her family and friends, Mary Jane spent her life dispensing the precious gift of love and affection to all who knew her. That gift will not be forgotten and will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Her last words at the moment of her death were in prayer and confident that she was in the hands of our Lord and Savior. May she have sweet dreams and rest in peace. Gaskins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary McIntosh

MARION -- Mary McIntosh, 88, died at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Arrangements are incomplete at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion.

Bonnie A. Grass-Bauman

HERRIN -- Bonnie A. Grass-Bauman, 83, of Southern Illinois, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Herrin Hospital. She was born on May 8, 1921, in Buncombe, daughter of Otis and Mary (Jenkins) White. She married Elmer 'Red' Grass in 1938 in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1980. She later married George Bauman in 1981 and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was a retired nurse's assistant from the Kankakee State Hospital. She and 'Red' Grass also owned and operated Anna Sheet Metal Works for many years. Later she worked for TIP Home Health in Johnson County. She was a volunteer for the Marion Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Johnson County Home Extension and a volunteer for the Senior Citizens Center in Marion. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Survivors include two sons, Roger Grass and wife Pat of Kankakee and their children, Jeff and wife Lorraine Grass, Jamey and wife Anja Grass and their children, Josh and Payton Grass, Amy and husband Mat Pepin; son, Norman and wife Judy Grass of Jonesboro and their daughter, Brianna Grass. Bonnie was from a family of 10 children and has one sister surviving, Faye and husband Junior Pierce of Carning, Ark. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Services will be conducted at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., at noon Monday, with Father Daniel Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Valle Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro and from 10 a.m. to noon at Basler Funeral Home. Hileman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Jonesboro Public Library.

Frank Alfred Ellingsworth

MOUNT VERNON -- Frank Alfred Ellingsworth, 97, died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Nature Trail Care Center, Mount Vernon. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Logan Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. Everett Lemany officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Dahlgren. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Logan Street Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Logan Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P. O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, IL 62864. Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ellingsworth retired from farming in Iowa in 1957 and later retired from Security Bank where he had worked as janitor. He was employed primarily in various types of sales. He was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. He was born Jan. 21, 1907, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, to Frank A. Ellingsworth and Frances (Pumphrey) Ellingsworth. He married Marjorie Maurine (Bailey) Ellingsworth Dec. 25, 1937 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Forrest Ellingsworth and wife Sue of Hampton, Va., and David Ellingsworth and wife Vicki of Dahlgren; four grandchildren, Steven Ellingsworth and wife Melanie of Pahucah, Scott Ellingsworth and wife Ginny of Virginia Beach, Va., Alicia Ellingsworth of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Cherise Ellingsworth of Norfolk, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Ellingsworth of Paducah, McKenzie Ellingsworth of Paducah and Morgan Ellingsworth of Virginia Beach, Va.; and several nieces and nephew. His parents, one brother, Arthur Ellingsworth and two sisters, Nellie Walters and Viola Boesch preceded him in death.
