Arnold W. Jensen, 87, Clifton, IL
Arnold Wayne Jensen of Clifton passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee at the age of 87. Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton with a parish prayer service to be held at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Clifton. Rev. Vern Arseneau will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home or for Masses.
Mr. Jensen farmed north of Ashkum, IL from 1947 until 1959. He retired in 1983 from Meier Oil Service, Ashkum. Mr. Jensen was born July 7, 1923 in Clifton, IL, the son of Frederick “Roy” Jensen and Alice Elizabeth Mathy. He loved woodworking, watching the Cubs and was a huge supporter of Central Comet sports. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Clifton Lions Club, Ashkum American Legion, Clifton Fire Dept., Holy Name Society, and the Kankakee County and Iroquois County Oilmen’s Society. He was also a former Village Trustee in Clifton for 15 years and was former treasurer of the Clifton Pool Committee.
He married Katherine ”Kitty” Mitchell on July 26, 1947 and she passed away on February 24, 2010. Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Trudie and Ben Imhauser of Chebanse, and Jeanette Ponton and special friend, Robert Berns, of Clifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Durl and Donna Jensen of Snellville, GA; eight grandchildren, Alissa (Mark) Hodel, Aaron (Alicia) Imhauser, Jessica (Dustin) Pangle, Jason Ponton (special friend, Wendy Martinez), Wendy (Paul) Leyva, Paige Jensen, Leslie (James) Mundy and Taren Jensen; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Merrill Lareau of Gilman; one brother and sister-in-law, Maynard and Ruth Jensen of Ashkum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, “Kitty”, he was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Julie Ponton; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Vialta Jensen; and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Joanne Mitchell.

Orillia M. Kottke, 92, Montrose, MN
Orillia M. Kottke, 92, of Montrose, MN passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at the Buffalo Hospital in Buffalo, MN.
She was born Jan. 18, 1918 in Lyman Twp., Ford County, IL, the daughter of Fred and Martha Hornstein Zabel. On Feb. 6, 1938, Orillia M. Zabel and Edward Kottke were joined in holy marriage in Buckley, IL.
Orillia formerly owned and operated Pete & Marie’s Bar in Martinton, IL. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, spending time with her grandchildren and watching the Minnesota Twins on T.V. Orillia was also a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church-Crawford Lake for the past twenty-five years.
She is survived by her children, Raymond Kottke of Monticello, IL, Ronald (Trudy) Kottke of Papineau, IL and Arliss (Lonnie) Johnson of Montrose, MN; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Martha St. Peter of Watseka, IL.
Orillia was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kottke, in 1974; one son, Marvin Kottke; her parents; and five siblings.
A visitation will be held for two hours prior to the 6 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, August 26, at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Buckley, IL.

Paul William Yonke, 19, Milford, IL
Paul William Yonke, 19, of Milford, passed away at his home, Monday, August 23, 2010. He was born the son of Paul H. & Naomi L. Frye Yonke on January 15, 1991 in Watseka.
Survivors include his parents, Paul & Naomi Yonke of Milford; one sister, Sarah Woods of Milford; paternal grandmother, Jane Yonke of Milford; maternal grandparents, Gloria (Barry) Bell of Milford; William (Karen) Frye of Murfreesboro, TN; two nephews, Gabe & Sky Woods of Milford; and many aunts, uncles & cousins.
Paul was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Paul Yonke and maternal great-grandmother, Hester Teske.
He enjoyed reading, drawing and spending time with his family.
A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 12:00 p.m. services, Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

Ronald G. Decker, 81, Onarga, IL
Ronald G. Decker, 81, of Onarga passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga. Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate. Burial will be in the Onarga Cemetery with military graveside rites by Watseka American Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga.
Mr. Decker was born on May 13, 1929 in Gilman, a son of Harold and Helen Bewsey Decker. He married Barbara Jean York on July 11, 1959 in Fairbury. She preceded him in death on June 11, 2007.
Surviving are three sons, Michael Glen (Marcia) Decker of Onarga, Ronald Paul (Renee) Decker of Piper City and Steven Wayne Decker of Onarga; one daughter, Darla Lou Burgess of Chrisman; six grandchildren, Danielle Decker of Manteno, Jason (Donnetta) Burgess of Chrisman, Kristoffer (Robinelle) Burgess of Phoenix, AZ, Andrea Decker of Chrisman, Amanda Decker of Piper City and Brandon Decker of Piper City; three step-grandchildren, David Barber of Onarga, Becky Barber of Roberts and Melissa Barber of Gilman; and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt & Weston Burgess of Chrisman and Mia & Decker Burgess of Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Mr. Decker served in the U.S. Army during peace time. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Iroquois County VFW Post #7450. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, bowling and playing eucher. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and loved spending time with his family and friends at Plato.
Memorials may be made to Ford-Iroquois Public Health or Donor’s Choice.

Virginia L. Wallace, 83, Watseka, IL
Virginia L. Wallace, 83, of Watseka, IL and formerly of Sheldon, IL passed away August 21, 2010 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Sheldon United Methodist Church. Rev. Paul Copeland will officiate. Burial will be in the Sheldon Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon, IL and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Wallace was born on April 9, 1927 in Iroquois, IL, a daughter of Royal and Pearl Ristow Darling. She married Rev. Wesley J. Wallace on September 29, 1946 in Sheldon, IL. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1990.
Surviving are two sons, James (Cecelia) Wallace of Haines City, FL and Scott (Leah) Wallace of Chicago, IL, one daughter, Kathy (James) Voegele of Cincinnati, OH, one sister, Doris (Reese) Bowton of Watseka, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Sheldon United Methodist Church and Sheldon Grandmothers Club.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Michael K. Humphrey, 53, Kentland, IN
Michael K. Humphrey, 53, of Kentland, IN passed away on August 20, 2010 at Integris Seminole Medical Center in Seminole, OK.
Funeral services will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon, IL with a visitation being held 2 hours prior. Rev. Kelly Howard will officiate.
Mr. Humphrey was born October 6, 1956, in Chicago, IL, a son of Kenneth and Opal Marie Wilson Humphrey. He married Sharel Cravens on October 1, 1993 in Watseka, IL and she survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Shane Humphrey and Shawn Humphrey both of Seminole, OK, one daughter, Shannah Humphrey of Seminole, OK, one brother, Randall Humphrey of Rensselaer, IN and one sister, Deborah (Carl) Page of Kentland, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Humphrey served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was employed at Intx Microbials in Kentland, IN.

Donald L. Webb, 66, Sheldon, IL
Donald L. Webb, 66, of Sheldon, IL passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL.
Visitation will run for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service on Monday, Aug. 23, at the True Vine Ministry in Watseka, IL. Rev. Elaine Daugherty will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Buswell Cemetery in Kentland, IN.
Mr. Webb was born April 7, 1944 in Campbellsville, KY, a son of Phillip Alton and Garnita Bear Webb. He married Evelyn Norris on Sept. 27, 2007 in Morocco, IN and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Garnita Webb of Morocco, IN; one son, Dustin Webb of Morocco, IN; a step-daughter, Kimberli Jensen and husband, Jeff of Smyrna, TN; two brothers, Harliss Webb and wife, Martha, of Ambia, IN and Larry Webb and wife, Linda, of Goodland, IN; and four sisters, Delores Neuschwander and husband, Jim, of Watseka, IL, Carlyn Wardle and husband, Gary, of Brownsberg, IN, Phylis Agent and husband, Steve and Norma Jean MCMahan and husband, Mike, all of Campbellsville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Webb was owner and operator of Webb Tree Service located in Sheldon, IL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and antiques.

Ora Mae Wood, 91, Gilman, IL
Ora Mae Wood, 91, of Gilman, IL, formerly of Milford, IL, passed away on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth, IL.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, at the Gilman United Methodist Church in Gilman, IL. Rev. Steve Hartman will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Stockland, IL.
Mrs. Wood was born Jan. 9, 1919 in Prairie Green Twp., a daughter of George and Emma Langellier Bury. She married James W. Wood on Jan. 9, 1940 in Milford, IL and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, J. Richard Wood and wife, Lynda, of Highland Park, IL and Jeffrey W. Wood of Gilman, IL; and two grandsons, Joshua Wood and wife, Stacey, of Deerfield, IL and Jordan Wood and wife, Cynthia, of Highland Park, IL.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Lloyd, Lester and Richard Bury.
Mrs. Wood was a member of the Gilman United Methodist Church in Gilman, IL and was formerly active in the Gilman Woman’s Club. She enjoyed watching sports.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gilman United Methodist Church in Gilman, IL, the Milford Methodist Church in Milford, IL, Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth, IL or Iroquois Memorial Hospice in Watseka, IL.

Ralph “Dick” Reutter, 84. Cissna Park, IL
Ralph “Dick” Reutter, 84, of Cissna Park, IL passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at Gilman Health Care Center in Gilman, IL.
Visitation will run from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13 at Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park and for one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service on Sat., Aug. 14, at Christian Bible Church in Cissna Park. Pastor Herb Flinkman will officiate. Burial will be at Cissna Park Cemetery in Cissna Park.
Mr. Reutter was born Nov. 1, 1925 in Cissna Park, IL, a son of John and Anna Verkler Reutter. He married Imogene Roll on Jan. 1, 1944 in Cissna Park and she preceded him in death on Aug. 25, 2006.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Reutter and wife, Sara, of Cissna Park; Jay Reutter and wife, Beth, of Champaign and Rick Reutter and wife, Sally, of Bradley; one daughter, Wendi Trask and husband, Ken, of Cissna Park; one sister, Katherine Reutter Knapp of LeRoy, IL; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister and one infant daughter.
Mr. Reutter was a livestock and dairy farmer. He was a past County Board member, past President of the Kankakee Pure Milk Assoc., and a member of the Masons and the Imperial Turtles. He was a founding member of the Community Chorus and helped found the Country Theatre Workshop. He was an avid golfer, bridge player, fisherman and Sox fan. He loved to sing “barbershop”.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice.

Daniel E. Monroe, 69, Gilman, IL
Daniel E. Monroe, 69, of Gilman and formerly of Watseka, passed away Monday, August 9, 2010 at Provena St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Gilman Nursing Home. Pastor Pete Henrich will officiate.
Mr. Monroe was born November 24, 1940 in Clifton, a son of Vernon and Roberta Hepworth Monroe. He married Vicki Jo Crick on September 7, 1992 in Gold Beach, OR and she survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Jon Daniel Monroe and Darrell Brent Monroe both of Virginia; one daughter, Kiki Smith of Virginia; one sister, Joann (Bill) Curtis of Gold Beach, OR; one aunt, Barbara Duggan of Kankakee; one sister-in-law, Dolores (Dennis) Pentecost of Milford; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Monroe served in the U.S. Air Force. He had a love of NASCAR and enjoyed gardening.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Marjorie Feller, 88, Cissna Park, IL
Marjorie Feller, 88, of Cissna Park passed away at 5:40 a.m. on August 10, 2010 at the Heartland Health Care Center, Paxton, IL. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 16 at the Cissna Park United Methodist Church, the Rev. Janet Longtin officiating. Burial will be in the Cissna Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 15 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Marjorie was born on September 11, 1921, in Albion, IL, a daughter of Claude and Edith (Marriott) Cowling. She married Art Feller on December 30, 1945 in Albion.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, two sons, Stanley (Sally) Feller, Savoy and Greg Feller, Cissna Park; three grandchildren, Bobby, Tony (Justine) and Cathy; one great-grandson, Kingston; a niece, Donna Shepherd; two nephews, David Shepherd and Daniel Shepherd; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Shirley Feller; and her sister, Nadine Shepherd.
Upon graduating from the University of Illinois she taught high school home economics and supervised DeKalb (NIU) and North Central College student teaching. Over the years she helped her husband in the live stock auction sale barn offices, delivered auction toppers, which her husband manufactured nationwide, and clerked farm auctions.
She was a member of the Cissna Park United Methodist Church, taught a preschool Sunday school class and was an organist for several years.
She helped set up the Gifted Child Program in Iroquois County. Other interests included playing bridge, flowers, the Onarga Music Club, traveling, 4H leader, Champaign-Urbana Home Economics. She was a life member of U of I Alums and the N.E.A.
After years of teaching first grade at Prairie Green in Wellington, IL, she retired and worked on the Peace Meal for senior citizens in Cissna Park.
