Joyce Anglene Green
PLYMOUTH — Joyce Anglene Green, 74, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at 6 p.m. in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Joyce was born May 16, 1933 to William and Ollie Stewart Ballard, in Alcorn County, Mississippi.
In her earlier years she worked as a cotton picker for the family farm, and then became a homemaker.
She is survived by four children, two daughters Rachel & Dave Thompson, Plymouth, Deborah &
Jack Hagestad, WI, two sons Bob & Brenda Huggins, Lake Station, and Michael Huggins, Knox;
eight grandchildren: Robin & Mike Klaker, Casey, Ill., Nick Gineris, Florida, Jason Antich, Argos,
Tim Gineris, Mishawaka, Rhonda Antich, Argos, Keith & Siobhan Huggins, California, and Matt
Gineris, Chicago, Ill.; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrey Rhinehart, Hinkle, Miss.; and a
brother, Stanley & Sue Ballard, Corinth, Miss, survive as well.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; two children: Darrell and Teresa; two
grandchildren: Johnny Gineris and Lisa Huggins; three brothers: Fornie, Denzel, and Bester; a
sister, Thelma Hardin; and a brother-in-law, Robert.
There will be no services.
Burial will take place in Corinth, Miss.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Carl F., Sr. Miller
BOURBON — Carl F. Miller Sr., 78. of Bourbon, died at 7: 45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 in his home.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; six children: Carl Miller, Jr. and Tony & Becky Miller of
Plymouth, Ricky Lee & Connie Miller of Ft. Wayne, Jimmy Miller of Bourbon, Connie & Randy
Branstrator of Ft. Wayne and Kerry Miller of Bourbon; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;
and sisters: Elizabeth Mae & Russell Myers of Milford, Maxine & Arden Williamson of Pierceton
and Laura Belle Fields of Missouri.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. in the Deaton-Clemens Funeral
Home, Bourbon. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of services on Sunday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice.

Phyllis Jean Slane
PLYMOUTH - Phyllis Jean Slane of Kenwood Avenue passed away peacefully at 2 p.m. on
Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, of natural causes.
Phyllis was born in Plymouth on May 8, 1931 to Lawrence and Ethyl (Zimmerman) Gunn.
On July 16, 1960, in Plymouth she married Chuck Slane, who survives.
Also surviving are a half sister, Betty Townsend of Brentwood, Tenn.; and a half brother, Guy
Jacobson of Montoursville, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Phyllis was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veteran’s, and Veteran’s of
Foreign Wars ladies auxiliaries. She was Past Commander in the DAV, and Past President in
the VFW, as well as Past 3rd District President in the VFW.
There will be no services or visitation and cremation will take place.
Memorials may be made to Miller’s Merry Manor, Catherine Kasper Home, Marshall County
Hospice and Palliative Care, or any charity of the donor’s choice.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Irene Barts
ROCHESTER — Mildred Irene Barts, 96, of Rochester, died at 1: 07 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1 at her home.
She is survived by a daughter: Sarah A. Betten of Rochester; a son: Ralph Richard “Dick” Barts
of Huntington; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two half-sisters and several nieces
and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 9: 30 to 11 a.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with burial to take place afterward at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.

Adelaide F. Cleveland
KOONTZ LAKE — Adelaide F. Cleveland, 89, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 in Catherine Kasper Home, Donaldson.
Survivors include three sons: James Cleveland of Walkerton, Gary Cleveland of Plymouth and
Paul Cleveland of Grovertown; one brother, Harold Stuver of Florida; seven grandchildren and
nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. EST at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
Burial will be in the Grovertown cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 11 a.m. EST until the time
of services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Catherine Kasper Home, P.O. Box 1, Donaldson, IN 46513.

Inez Feldman
WARSAW — Inez Feldman, 84, of Warsaw, died at 8: 45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Miller’s Merry
Manor Nursing Home of Warsaw.
Her survivors include her brother, Harold and Bonnie Feldman of Etna Green along with
numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate Inez’s life will be Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. in Deaton-Clemens
Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home at
115 S. Main St., Bourbon, IN 46504.
Burial will follow in the Summit Chapel cemetery at Bourbon.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Kosciusko County Hospice.

Roland E. Hansen
BREMEN — Roland E. Hansen, 81, of Bremen, died at 12: 40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at
Community Hospital of Bremen.
He was born June 21, 1926 in Bremen to Frank and Mabel (Schneider) Hansen. On Nov. 1,
1947 he married Evadean V. Clindaniel, who survives.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Bremen, a WWII veteran of the
United States Army serving in the 314th Infantry, 1st Division, a charter member of the Bremen
VFW Post 8972 and member of the Bremen American Legion.
He retired from Miller Bearing in Bremen after many years and also worked in radio and
television repair.
He is survived by his wife Evadean; two sons: Michael (Joyce) Hansen and Terry (Pamela)
Hansen, all of Bremen; a daughter: Debra (Mark) Thompson of Argos; a step-sister: Ruth Keck
of Bremen; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Curtis and two brothers: Richard and Robert.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gary Hinkle officiating.
Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bremen VFW #8972, the American Legion or Pet
Refuge, 2300 W. 6th St. Mishawaka, IN 46544.

Carl M. Paseka
ETNA GREEN — Carl M. Paseka, 58, of Etna Green, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at 10: 47 p.m.
at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
He was born to Mark and Mildred on Nov. 20, 1949 in Warsaw and was raised by his father and
grandmother, Irene McCausey Paseka.
He graduated in 1968 from Warsaw Community High School. On June 28, 1970, he married
Gloria Tucker at Harrison Center Church, Etna Green.
He was a maintenance superintendent for more than 20 years at Lear Corporation and also at
WireKraft, both of Bourbon. Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and
enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Paseka of Etna Green; two daughters: Stephanie (Samuel)
Dixon of Mentone and Heather Paseka of Etna Green; a son, Andrew (Meagan) Paseka of
Warsaw; five grandchildren: Kylee and Cory Walton, Michael Paseka, Jacob Dixon and Ethan
Paseka; two sisters: Leona Izumi of Stockton, Calif. And Kathy Ulshafer of South Whitley and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and two brothers: Phillip and Peter Paseka.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St. Mentone.
Funeral services will take place at 10: 30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Harrison Center Church,
Etna Green, officiated by Pastors Larry Goss and Bill Stevens.
Burial will follow at Harrison Center cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Warsaw Dialysis Center.

Marjorie Elizabeth (McDonald) Garland
ARGOS — Marjorie Elizabeth (McDonald) Garland, 84, of Argos, died at 10: 58 a.m. Sunday,
Feb. 3, 2008 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth following a brief illness. On
March 21, 1923 in Ober, she was born to Dewey and Mary (Ransbottom) McDonald. On Aug.
24, 1940 in Plymouth, she married Kenneth A. Garland. She moved to Argos in 1990 coming
from Tippecanoe, where they had lived for nearly 40 years.
A homemaker, she had been a member of Whippoorwill Ladies Club, Foster Rebekah Lodge of
Tippecanoe. She attended Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth A. Garland of Argos; two daughters: Carolyn (Joseph)
Clingenpeel of Warsaw and Nancy (Gary) Kinsey of Tippecanoe; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren;
seven great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Larry McDonald of Kerrvile, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Russell Garland; grandson, Craig Garland;
three sisters; and one brother.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the EarlGrossman
Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday,
Feb. 6 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Rice of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, officiating.
Burial will be at Burr Oak cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Attn: Danielle Henry,
7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231 or Argos EMS, 201 West Walnut St., Argos, IN 46501.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.

Christopher A. Brown
HAMLET — Christopher A. Brown, 30, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center, South Bend.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; son, Nathan at home; mother, Meriliza Brown of
Walkerton; and two half-brothers: Robert Fraine of Grovertown and Keith Fraine of Bremen.
A memorial service will be held Monday. Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. CST at the Koontz Lake Missionary
Church. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation has taken place.
Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home at 7984 N S.R. 23, Walkerton, IN 46574.

Scott A. Geiselman
CULVER — Scott A Geiselman, 62, of Culver, passed away at 6: 10 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2008 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver.
Scott was born on Feb. 9, 1945 in South Bend, one of two sons born to Ralph and Frances (Taber) Geiselman of Culver.
While in eighth grade, he was asked by William Osborn to run a movie in the basement of the
State Exchange Bank for a group of farmers. Scott graduated from Culver High School in 1963,
where he was a member of the video club. He attended Radio Electronic & Television School in
South Bend after graduation. He was married on Aug. 6, 1967 in Argos to Patty Hammond. She survives.
Scott was a member of Local 187 IATSE of South Bend and was an avid lover of the theater.
The highlight of his career was being the projectionist for the premiere screening of the movie,
Rudy. He was forced to retire in 1995 due to ill health. He was a cat lover — especially his cat,
Cotton. He was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents and wife, Scott is survived by his brother, Ralph Edward (Cindy)
Geiselman of West Lake Village, Calif.; and niece and nephew, Garianna and Grant Geiselman.
A time of remembrance with Scott’s family will be at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home on
Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. EST. Rev. Bryan Siefert and Rev. Lloyd Howard will
officiate funeral services Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. EST at the Wesley United Methodist
Church, 511 School St., Culver. Interment will follow at Culver Masonic cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Marshall Co. Humane Society or Wesley United Methodist Church.

Gertrude Hampton
PLYMOUTH — Gertrude Hampton, 90, of Plymouth, died Monday, Feb. 4 in Avon Park, Fla.
Visitation is Monday, Feb. 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
Plymouth, and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church. Funeral services are
Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Plymouth.
Burial will be at New Oakhill cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Plymouth.

Richard William Mangus
LAKEVILLE — Richard William Mangus, 77, a lifelong resident of Lakeville, passed away at 3: 39
p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Mangus was born on July
23, 1930 in Lakeville to the late Walter F. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Deck) Mangus. On June 24,
1951 in Lakeville, he married the former Mary E. Annis who survives.
Along with his wife, Mary, of 56 years, survivors include; one daughter, Marcia S. (Rick)
Forrester of LaFontaine; four sons: Russell G. (the late Catherine) Mangus of Valparaiso,
Richard D. (fiancee, Clarice Holloway) Mangus of Walkerton, Ronald L. (Heidi) Mangus of
Noblesville, and Ryan D. Mangus of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
three sisters: Eileen (Kenneth) Isenberg of Lakeville, Mary Ann (Rich) BonDurant of Bremen,
and Barbara Sauers of Langhorne, Pa.; and one brother, Walter L. (Sue) Mangus of Pecatonica, Ill.
Mr. Mangus was a dairy farmer for 60 years working with the family business, Mangus Dairy
Farms. This consisted of milking the cows, bottling the milk, and delivering the product to the
customer. Mr. Mangus was a member of the County Line Brethren Church where he served as
past moderator of the church and was currently vice moderator. He was also the former building
chairman for the church. He has been a 50-year member of the Lakeville Masonic Lodge #353,
F & AM, 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star # 479, Lakeville and a 50 year
member of the Lakeville Lions Club. Mr. Mangus was a member of the Farm Bureau, Indiana
Farmers Union, 4-H member for 10 years and a 4-H leader for 45 years.
Mr. Mangus was a State Representative of Indiana for 32 years serving honorably from 1972 –
2004. He was a member of the State Republican Committee for five years and Vice Chairman
of the District Republican Committee. Mr. Mangus also held many General Assembly
Chairmanships including; House Election Committee for six years, House Environmental
Committee for six years and Chairman of Natural Resources for four years. He was a three-time
recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash honor, served his country with the Indiana
National Guard and was a friend of Potato Creek State Park. Mr. Mangus was also appointed by
the Governor as a member of the Department of Natural Resources Commission.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at the County Line Brethren
Church, 69988 U.S. 31 South, Lakeville. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fair
cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7
at the Newton Center, 801 N. Michigan St., Lakeville, and one hour prior to services in the
church on Friday. Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, is assisting the Mangus family with funeral arrangements.
Contributions in memory of Richard William Mangus may be donated to the County Line
Brethren Church, 69988 U.S. 31 South, Lakeville, IN 46536 or to the Brethren Retreat Center,
9095 W. 275 North, Shipshewana, IN 46585.
