Mable "Pauline" Hite
Mable “Pauline” Hite, 81, died Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She is survived by daughters: Shirley (Boyd) Poe of Claypool, Janet (Jim) Dawson of Warsaw
and Joyce Trean of Plymouth; son, Charles Robert (Judy) Hite of Plymouth; eight grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, Oct. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Funeral
services are Saturday, Oct. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakwood
cemetery, Warsaw. Memorials may be made to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice.
Kenneth E. Kamp
PLYMOUTH — Kenneth E. Kamp, 72 of 10258 Muckshaw Rd., Plymouth, passed away
Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at 11:30 p.m. in his home with his family by his side, after losing his twoyear
battle to cancer.
Kenny was born July 29, 1935 in Plymouth to Harry and Jean (Warner) Kamp. On Feb. 16, 1959
he married
Sondre Dipert. Kenny was retired from ITW Ram Set Red Head in Michigan City,
where he worked for 33 years. He served his country as a PFC of the U.S. Army Artillery and
was also a member of the American Legion Post #27 of Plymouth. He was an avid Plymouth
Speedway fan. He loved the outdoors and watching his granddaughters sporting events.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Sondre; his daughters, Cathy (George) Null of Argos, Angie
(Corey) Green of Argos, Kim Kamp and companion Gary Masterson of Plymouth; his mother,
Jean Orr of Plymouth; his brother, Dale Kamp of Plymouth; his sisters: Carolyn Manuwal of
Plymouth, Deb Shoptaw of Indianapolis, Pat Mehrley of North Carolina, Margaret Ann and Linda
of Florida; his granddaughters: Shanda and Krista Null, Ashley Elmore, and Ashton Kendall; four
step-grandaughters; one step- grandson; and two great-granddaughters. Kenny was preceded
in death by his father and a brother.
Graveside services will be on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at 1 p.m. in New Oak Hill cemetery,
Plymouth, with the Rev. Bryan Trump officiating. There will be no visitation. The American
Legion Post #27 will present the Military Honors. Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison
St., Plymouth, IN 46563, is handling the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 112
South Center Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
Wahneeta Folkers Watson
ARGOS — Wahneeta Folkers Watson, 86, of Argos, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007.
Visitation is Sunday, Oct. 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox.
Funeral services are Monday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Harold William Lewis
WALKERTON — Harold William Lewis, 81, of Walkerton, died Wednesday, Oct. 17 in Saint
Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
He is survived by daughters: Yvonne (William) Colin of Walkerton and Cynthia Fox of Portland,
Ore.; son, William (Patricia) Lewis of Portland, Ore.; brother, George Sprague of Jennings,
Mich.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Monday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. EST at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake
Chapel. Visitation is Monday after 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Burial will be at the Franklin cemetery, Eau Claire, MIch. Memorials may be made to the First
Baptist Church of North Liberty.
Phyllis Lavelli Mars
SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. — Phyllis Lavelli Mars, 87, formerly of Culver, died at 10:48 p.m. at
her home in Sun City Center, Fla.
She is survived by her husband, John; sons: Anthony C. Mars of Orlando, Fla. And Dr. J. Peter
(Dr. Brennan) Mars of Boulder, Colo.; sisters: Doris Duff and Virginia Lovett, both of of New
Hampshire; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Culver Academies Memorial
Chapel, Culver. Burial will be at the Culver Masonic cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the John and Phyllis Mars
Scholarship Fund in care of Culver Academies. The Bonine-Odom Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
Jean Pritchard
MENTONE — Jean Pritchard, 79, of Mentone, died at 6:44 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 at St.
Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
She is survived by daughters: Jacque (Bill) Bradley of Mentone and Jeri (Scott) Hoskins of
Warsaw; sons: Jeff (Linda) Pritchard of Winona Lake and Tom (Ronnie) Rosen of Savannah,
Ga.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Barb Ross of Mentone and Janet
(Bob) Brooks of Bourbon; and brother, Richard (Joan) King of Warsaw.
Visitation is Saturday, Oct. 20 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the King Memorial Home, Mentone. Funeral
services are Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Mentone
cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mentone United Methodist Church or the Bell
Memorial Public Library, Mentone.
Mae I. Roysdon
HAMLET — Mae I. Roysdon, 97, of Hamlet, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 in Starke
Memorial Hospital, Knox, after an illness. Mrs. Roysdon was born Oct. 13, 1910 in Knox to Link
and Mattie (Lark) Guernsey and lived in the area all of her life. On June 12, 1941 in Hamlet, she
was married
to Earl A. Roysdon, who preceded her in death in 1966. She was also preceded in
death by her parents, three sisters, one brother and one grandchild.
Survivors include: two daughters, Ivyl (Bill) Wallace of Knox and Marilyn Roysdon of Hamlet; one
son, Elmo “Bud” (Virginia) Phelps of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and
15 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Roysdon was a homemaker, a member of the Hamlet United Methodist Church for 66
years, a member of the Philetha Class and a charter member of WSCS of the church. She was
a loving mother, she cherished her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by her entire family.
Graveside services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. CDT at Fletcher cemetery, Hamlet, with Rev. Rose
Woodke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Hamlet United
Methodist Church. Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
William R. Smith
ARGOS — William R. (Bob) Smith, 68, of Indiana Avenue, Argos, went home to be with his Lord
on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007 at 2:10 p.m.
He died at the Life Care Center of Rochester following a two-year illness.
On Dec. 16, 1938 in North Judson, he was born to William R. and Gertrude (Armentrout) Smith.
He lived in the Argos community for 31 years.
On Sept. 14, 1958 in Plymouth, he married
Dorothy M. McGriff at the Assembly of God Church.
He worked in quality control for Newmar in Nappanee, and retired in 2000.
Mr. Smith served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Macon from 1956 to 1959 and in the
Naval Reserves until 1962. He was a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Smith of Argos; one daughter, Patricia (Dallas)
Richardson of Mentone; one son, Robert (Ginger) Smith of Knox; 11 grandchildren, Jessica,
Leah, Susannah, Cassia, Anna, Rebekah, Charissa, Noah and Isaiah Richardson of Mentone
and William and Andrew Smith of Knox.
His mother, Gertrude (David) Joseph of Plymouth, and two brothers, Richard (Joyce) Smith of
Holiday Island, Ark. And David (Linda) Smith of Loogootee, Ind. Also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Noah Ross Richardson.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at EarlGrossman
Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, IN 46501.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Jividen of
the Plymouth Baptist Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

Terry E. Bates
KNOX — Terry E. Bates, 64, of Knox, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Greenlee; his children: Jeremy Bates of Arkansas, Terry Deitz
of Ohio, Ashley Bates of Knox, Alan Bates of Knox and Laurie Irish of Ohio; sisters: Sandy
Potthoff of Plymouth, Linda Brantley of Ohio, Karen Taggert of French Licke, Ind. And Carol
Pickett of Texas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

PLYMOUTH — Michael D. “Mike” Morgan, 49, of Plymouth, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at 8:45 p.m.
at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
Mike is survived by his wife, Nita Morgan of Kokomo; daughter, Kaylaanne Morgan; son, Michael
Deanne Morgan; step-daughters: Kimberly Reese and Amber Thomas; and step-brother, Bill
Grimes.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist
Church, in Plymouth.
Robert C. Artis
MONTEREY — Robert C. Artis, 49, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Carol Hayes of Monterey; two daughters: Dawn
Hailey of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Shavon Hailey; sisters: Cassandra Artis, Rose Artis, Dawn Ahee,
Cathy Irby, all of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Annquinette Holms of Orangeburg, S.C.
Interment will be private; there will be no visitation.

Ruth C. Piper
KNOX — Ruth C. Piper, 84, died Wednesday, Oct. 24 at home.
She is survived by a daughter, Jennie Carter of Knox; two granddaughters; and many nieces and
nephews.
Visitation is Sunday, Oct. 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel and
Monday at the church one hour prior to the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. CDT at Eagle Creek Church, Knox.
Wyatt Alexander Kegarise
ROCHESTER — Wyatt Alexander Kegarise, 2 months, died at 10:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at
Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his parents: John D. and Shannon V. Overmyer Kegarise of Rochester; sisters:
Morgan and Lindsay Kegarise; grandparents: Dale and Faye Overmyer of Rochester and Donald
and Kathy Kegarise of Kewanna.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Riverview Community Church,
Talma.
Visitation is at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 or one hour prior to
Wednesday’s services.
Burial will be at the Richland Center IOOF cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Riverview Community Church - Kegarise Fund.
