James E. Hersberger

James E. Hersberger, 68, Anderson, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his family which was his wish.

He was born on September 7, 1937, in Anderson, Indiana to Tom and Hattie (Hoffman) Hersberger.

He was a 1955 Lapel High School graduate and a former 4-H leader. He retired from E & B Paving.

He was a member of the Pendleton Church of Christ.

He is survived by three children, Ronald (wife, Dede) Hersberger of Pendleton, Rene'e (husband, Tony) Ritchie of Anderson, and Rick (wife, Karen) Hersberger of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Stacy (husband, Richie) Vincel, Erica McDole, Nicole Hersberger, Aaron Hersberger (fiance' Jasmine Collins), Kaylin Ritchie (fiance' Shannon Thompson), Eli Hersberger, and Audra Hersberger; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna (Myers) Hersberger in 2002.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Jim Vaughn officiating. Burial will be at the Perkinsville cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.

Marjorie G. Hoffman

Marjorie G. Hoffman, 97, Anderson, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006, at Manor Care Health Services Anderson following an extended illness.

She was born on March 1, 1908, in Madison County, Indiana to Samuel and Winnefred (Bartholomew) Gwinn.

She was a 1926 Lapel High School graduate and was employed at Delco Remy for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, the Alpha Circle at Bethel United Methodist Church, the Mount Moriah Order of Eastern Star and the former Lapel Order of Eastern where she was a past matron, the No Name Bridge Clup and the Carousel Club. She also served on the Job's Daughters Council.

The family would like to thank her friends at Love Bears for their caring help.

She is survived by Daughter, Phyllis "Pinkie" (husband, Gene) Magers of Anderson; one grandson, James (wife, Beth) Magers of Noblesville; and two great-grandsons, John Magers, and Daniel Magers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Hoffman in 1967; and by her special friend, Ralph Wellons.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel where a Order of Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 606, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0606 or the American Cancer Society.

M. Janice Hoover

M. Janice (Blake) Hoover, 72, Noblesville, passed away Feb. 21, 2006, at The Hearth of Windemere in Fishers following an extended illness.

She was born on June 27, 1933, in Lapel, the daughter of Scott and Margaret (Snyder) Blake.

She was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, and the former Lapel Order of Eastern Star Chapter 457. She had also been active with the Lapel Jobs Daughters Bethel.

She is survived by three children, Brian (wife, Lisa) Hoover of Fishers, Dawn Chaudion of Indianapolis, and Deanna Hoover of Colorado; two brothers, Scott Blake II of Florida, and Tony (wife, Deborah) Blake of Munster; her mother-in-law, Bernice Hoover of Noblesville; and five grandchildren, Alison Hoover, Erika Hoover, Nathan Hoover, Andrea (husband, Sam) Pierce and Rusty Chaudion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Hoover; her parents; a sister, Sandra; and her father-in-law, Raymond Hoover.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with the Rev. Harold Scott officiating. Burial will be in Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Margaret Maxine Hutton
October 25, 1912 - March 15, 2006

Margaret Hutton, 93, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida went to her heavenly home on March 15, 2006. She was born in Lapel, Indiana, daughter of the late Edward Samuel Hutton and Ida Carola Dunham Hutton, and resided in Miami Shores, Florida from 1925 to 2002 prior to moving to Prosperity Oaks / Heartland in Palm Beach Gardens. Margaret graduated from North Miami High School and attended the University of Miami. She was employed by the Metropolitan Dade County Agricultural and Home Economics Division for 30 years before retiring in 1977. Margaret designed her Miami Shores home with a large yard for the dogs she loved and for growing roses. She made many trips to Europe and loved to travel. She was preceded in death by five siblings; Mary Audrey Troutman, Helen Louise Cooper, Anna Virginia Hutton, George Leland Hutton and Charles Gerald Hutton.

Margaret is survived by three nieces and a nephew: Sharon (Walter) Wiley, Palm Beach Gardens, Fl., Carol (Paul) Wyatt, Sandy Cooper, and Jay (Sharon) Cooper Gainesville, Florida, and numerous grand nieces and grand nephews.

Private family graveside services and burial will take place in the family plot at Brookside cemetery, Lapel, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the memorial fund of Miami Shores Presbyterian Church 602 NE 96th Street, Miami Shores, Florida 33138 or any Lighthouse for the Blind.

Patricia Keep Jackson

Born: May 15, 1922 in Lowell, Massachusetts

Attended The Hockaday School for Girls, and Southern Methodist University, Dallas TX

Worked as a Production Planner at North American Aviation during WWII

Secretary to neurosurgeon at Cleveland Clinic

Married to Byron Cornell Jackson on January 1, 1948

Preceded in death by mother Ruth Rylee Lawther, father Howard Sanford Keep, brother Harry Keep and husband Byron Cornell Jackson.

Survived by: Sister Betty Eichenberger (Colorado); daughter Pamela Jackson of South Bend, daughter Julia McCready (Richard ) of Columbia, Maryland; and daughter Barbara Jackson (Evan Lash) of Lapel. Grandchildren Alice Marks and Margaret McCready of Columbia, MD and Christopher and Gregory Lash of Lapel, IN.

Member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel since 1996.

Memorial gifts: to Building Fund at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Dana Marie Jarvis

Dana Marie Jarvis, 27, Anderson, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006.

She was born on November 27, 1978, in Anderson, Indiana to Bill and Debbie (Hobbs) Jarvis.

She attended Lapel Schools.

She is survived by her parents, Bill and Debbie (Hobbs) Jarvis of Lapel; five brothers and sisters, Aaron (wife, Suzanne) Jarvis, Donald (fiance, Tammy) Jarvis, Ronald (wife, Kari) Jarvis, Billy L. Jarvis, Jr., and Barbara (husband, Kevin) Parkhurst all of Anderson; maternal grandparents, Bill and Lavonne Hobbs of Lapel; aunt, Penny (husband, Jim) Hormell of Lapel; and several great-aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends including special friend Mark Votra.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell W. Jarvis; an aunt, Becky Orbik; and great grandparents, Ernest and Pearl Brantlinger and Rando and Laura Hobbs.

Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Richard L. Johns

Richard L. Johns, 31, Lapel, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a sudden illness.

He was born on September 7, 1975, in Greenfield, Indiana to Harold and Margaret (Davidson) Johns.

He was a 1995 Lapel High School graduate and was employed as a driver with B & W Transport in Indianapolis.

He was a member of the Lapel Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret (Davidson) Smith of Lapel; his father and step-mother, Harold and Resa Johns of Merritt Island, FL; a brother, Bob (wife, Candy) Johns of Lapel; a sister, Rebecca (husband, Clark) Myers of Lapel; his step-father, Rick Smith of Pendleton; a step-brother, Kip Stoops of Pendleton; his girlfriend, Brittnee House of Lapel; eight nieces and nephews, Jeremiah Johns, Cassie Castor, Brandon Johns, Kaitlyn Johns, Caleb Johns, Ashlee Johns, Kaylie Myers, and Kara Myers; two aunts, Sara (husband, Hugh) Clark of Lapel, and Sharon (husband, Marvin) Bland of Pendleton; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Opal Davidson and Roy and Georgia Johns; and an uncle, James Davidson.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Mallory Eliza Jones

Mallory Eliza Jones, 2 1/2 months, Anderson, the littlest angel, flew home to heaven Saturday, September 30, 2006, at Community Hospital of Anderson after a sudden illness.

She was born on July 9, 2006, in Indianapolis.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her mother, Kelly Jones of Anderson; father, Jeremiah Jones of Lapel; maternal grandparents, Anita Byrd of Anderson, and Richard Fulkrod, Sr. of Pendleton; paternal grandparents, Kim (husband, Dan) Myers of Groton, CT, and Kurt Jones of Lapel; maternal great-grandmother, Dorie Roberts of Ohio; paternal great-grandparents, Jerry and Phyllis Hiatt of Lapel, and Jean Jones of Indianapolis; other maternal family members including, Mark, Peggy, Miranda, and Jerzee Baugher; Ryan Poole; Chad, Melissa, and Hadleigh Hancock; Jim and Lisa Martino; Rachel, Uriah, and Isaac Whetzell; Penny Savory; Rick, Sara, and Jacob Eckstein; Russell, Samantha, and RJ Baugher; Jesse Byrd; Nathan Stump; Richard Jr., Robyn, Scott, and Brian Fulkrod; Bill, Nikki, Daniel, and Kyle Oliver; Robert, Mary Beth, Robby, and Stephanie Fulkrod; other paternal family members including, Kent, Jessica, and Mason Hiatt; Ryan and Kylie Brooks; Mark and Bobi Jones; Mike Nicholson; Kyle, Jennifer, and Gabe Jones; Torey Scherer; James Jones; and Chris Jones; family friends including, Alonzo and Nick Walker; Betty Rumler and many others.

Mallory was preceded in death by Beulah Manis; Joe and Georgia Clymer; Russell Baugher, Jr.; Mary and Craig Baugher; and Anastasia Jones.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Alexa Brynn Land

Alexa Brynn Land, Anderson, was still born Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at Community Hospital of Anderson.

She is survived by her parents, Brittany Hobbs and Christopher Land of Anderson; maternal grandparents, Marla and Glen Hobbs of Anderson; paternal grandparents, Duane and Wanda Land of Paoli; maternal great-grandparents, P. J. Armstrong of Lapel, and Herb and Ruth Hobbs of Lapel; paternal grandmothers, Oma Land of Lebanon, and Allene Humphrey of Paoli; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

George M. Lewis

George M. Lewis, 76, Lapel, passed away Tuesday April 4, 2006 at his residence.

He was born on January 29, 1930 in Lapel, Indiana son of Homer and Merle (Sinders) Lewis.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired after 30 years as a machinist from Firestone in Noblesville and was also an avid Golfer.

He is survived by three sisters and a one brother, Mary Camp of Noblesville, Ivan Pete (wife, Bernardine) Lewis of Anderson, Betty (husband, Ray) Schenk of Middletown, Phyllis Roudebush of Noblesviile, and preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Doggie" Lewis.

Friends may call from 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM Saturday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Graveside service will follow at Brookside cemetery in Lapel with Rev. Kevin Plew officiating.

The family request that memorial contributions be given to American Lung Association.

Jordan K. Lynch

Jordan Keith Lynch, 23, Anderson, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006, at Community Hospital in Anderson.

He was born on February 7, 1983, in Anderson, Indiana to R. Keith and Chris (Hersberger) Lynch.

He was a 2001 Lapel High School Graduate and he attended Indiana State University and Lincoln Technical Institute. He played T-ball through Babe Ruth baseball in the Lapel little league and was coached by his dad. While in high school, Jordan played varsity football, basketball, and track all four years. He was a member of the Letterman's Club and the Art Club and his art entry had won best in show two years. He was named Homecoming King and Outstanding Male Athlete his senior year.

He is survived by his parents, R. Keith and Chris (Hersberger) Lynch, Jr. of Anderson; a brother, Joshua Lynch of Anderson; his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Hersberger of Noblesville; his paternal grandfather, Richard K. (wife, Joyce) Lynch, Sr. of Orlando, FL; his paternal grandmother, Marylee Hurst of Alexandria; five aunts and uncles, Mori (wife, Patty) Hersberger of Noblesville, Dale (wife, Gloria) Lynch of Houston, TX, Cheryl (husband, Tony) Kettery of Alexandria, Patty (husband, George) Kilgore of Anderson, and Gary Morris of Orlando, FL; several cousins including, Joel and Meghan Hersberger of Anderson, and Nathan Statzer of Fishers; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Herbert Hersberger.

Jordan will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a wonderful joy to be around. Jordan was a person who always helped someone whether he knew them or not and he believed in what was right. He did not like people being treated indifferently. We love you son!

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.
