Brice Mason
Brice D. Mason, 77, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, a St. Mary's Riverside of cancer.
He retired as a vault teller at Citizens Bank, had worked for Swift Packing, was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Northeast Park Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Rebecca (Septer); a daughter, Brenda Manley of Longwood, Fla.; a son, Gary of Evansville; a sister, Laverne Yund of Palm Desert, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Chad Campbell and Glorianne Manley.
Services with military rites will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Dan Hill officiating, with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church.

Charles Rogers
WINSLOW — Charles Ray Rogers, 56, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at his home of cancer.
He was a sheet metal worker, safety representative for the United Auto Workers and a member of the American Legion in Elberfeld.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Gorman); two daughters, Judi Garcia of Arlington, Texas, and Janice Reece of Indianapolis; a stepdaughter, Monica Higdon of Boggstown; three sons, Charles Jr. and Joe, both of Arlington, and John of Shelbyville; a stepson, Jason Wayne Jones of Texas; a sister, Mary Leonetti of Illinois; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. EST Sunday at Curtis Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Broshears
LYNNVILLE — Mary "Shorty" Broshears, 75, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at St. Mary's Warrick of complications of a stroke.
She attended Faith Baptist Church in Boonville and enjoyed doing craft work.
Surviving are four daughters, Mary Lee Biddle and Pamela Joyce Fark, both of Boonville, Doris Feldmeier of Lynnville and Brenda Jean Shirley of Daylight; a son, Kenneth E. Green of Evansville; three sisters, Opal Moore and Myrtle Helmer, both of Evansville and Gladys Kiegel of Boonville; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Dewey, died in 1971.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home, with burial in Barnett Chapel Cemetery near Elberfeld.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation.

Heidi Sterczer
PRINCETON — Heidi Sterczer, 87, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Gibson General Hospital.
She was born in Hungary and emigrated to the United States fromGermany. She worked at the Forest Del Nursing Home for 16 years and was a member of Mount Tabor General Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Thompson of Francisco and Heidi Miley of Crothersville; a son, Michael of Princeton; a sister, Elizabeth Farkas of Paraguay,; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Michael, died in 1966.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to service time.

Gerald Mattingly Sr.
LOOGOOTEE — Gerald Patrick Mattingly Sr., 64, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Deasoness Hospital in Evansville of complications of an aneurysm.
He retired as the owner and operator of Mattingly Feed Store.
He was an Army veteran.
He was a 1956 graduate of Montgomery High School and recipient of the Brute Society Award in 1994.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Chapel in Barr Township, served on the parish council and was secretary and treasurer of St. Mary's Cemetery and recently attended St. Martin's Catholic Church in Whitfield.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline "Jane"; four daughters, Mary Jo Gries of Solsberry, Angela Kaiser of Leavenworth, Marlena Harvey of Bloomington and Deanna Hooper of Indianapolis; a son, Gerald P. "Gerry" Jr. of Loogootee; four sisters, Patricia "Pat" Tow and Rita Elliott, both of Loogootee, Veronica "Bonnie" Tennis of Washington and Alberta "Bert" Turner of Indianapolis; two brothers, Timothy E. of Montgomery and Joseph L. of Loogootee; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Monday at St. Mary Chapel in Barr Township, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brocksmith Funeral Home, with a rosary at 6 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin Catholic Church or a charity of one's choice.

Donald Mason
Donald L. Mason, 53, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of respiratory failure.

He had worked for Arkla Industries as a traffic manager and recently with heating and air conditioning repair and installation.

He was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing bluegrass and Irish music.

He was a 1966 graduate of Bosse High School and earned his bachelor of science degree from Purdue University in 1970.

He was with Roger Rangers as a re-enactor of the French and Indiana Wars, had been an Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow.

He enjoyed hiking and camping and was a member of the National Spelunking Society.

Surviving are his mother, Ruth Mason of Evansville; a sister, Barbara Carper of Evansville; two brothers, Ken of Evansville and Dave of Dayton, Ohio; and nieces and nephews.

There will be no services or visitation at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel.

Donald Henry

Donald L. Henry, 68, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of a heart condition.

He retired as the head of the physical education department at Reitz High School and had served as reserve football coach and head wrestling coach.

He was an Army veteran, served in Germany and on the Selective Service Board.

He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Evansville York Rite and Scottish Rite where he just received their Meritorious Service Award. He was past master of the Masonic Lodge, member of Hadi Temple Shrine and the Shrine Hospital Staff, past president of High Twelve International and was state president, he was a member of West Evansville Civitan and R-Men's Club at Reitz High School.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Kay (Schmidt); a daughter, Jan Henry of San Francisco; two sons, Jeff of Milford, Mich., and Matt of Farmington Hills, Mich.; two sisters, Beverly Abell of Evansville and Dorothy Suiso of Honolulu; a grandchild, Jordan Henry; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Marks Untied Church of Christ, the Rev. Kimron Reising officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. Masonic service at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Shriner's Hospital for Children.

George Dunn

George W. Dunn, 84, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at his home.

He retired in 1985 from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Sunday school class.

He was a fisherman and hunter and member of the American Rifle Association and Erie Canal Beagle Club.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Irene (Blades); two sons, Garrett Ray and Larral Wayne, both of Evansville; three sisters, Imogene Cook of Evansville, Ginnie Thompson of Michigan, and Zylpha Cook of Tennessee; a brother, Stratha of Evansville; two grandsons, Jeff and Trevor Dunn; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel, the Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating, with burial in Shady Grove (Ky.) Baptist Church Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1:30 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association.

Thomas Krueger

Thomas J. Krueger, 76, of Newburgh, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Gibson County Hospital of an accidental fall while trimming a tree.

He owned Krueger Tax Service for 30 years.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Evansville, Princeton, Ind., Eagles and Indiana CPA Association.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; two daughters, Mary Ann Shetler of Evansville and Vickie Williams of Loogootee; a son, David of Evansville; two sisters, Jane Reeves and Myra Vaughn, both of Anderson, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Elissa, Emily and Andrew Shetler and Michael Holzmeyer. A son, James, died in 1996.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home Newburgh Chapel, the Rev. August Busch officiating, with burial in Fairmont Cemetery in Huntingburg, Ind.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Luella Hancock

Luella (Wallace) Hancock, 82, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Cen-ter.

She retired from Small World Day Care Center and she was Baptist.

Surviving are two sons, Gary Wayne of Evansville and Wallace R. of Dixon, Ill.; a sister, Helen Baird of Evansville; a brother, Norman Wallace of Evansville; a grandchild, Kathy Stucker; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and a nephew. Her husband, Raynor Z., died in 1994.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Mike Stoelting officiating, with burial pending.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
