Harold Sherman
Harold Michael Sherman, 55, of Evansville, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter, Ife Sherman; a son, Michael; his mother, June Sherman; sisters, Sonya and Youlanda Trice, Cherie and Tonie Sherman and Donna E. Milan; brothers, Jessie, Paul, Donald Ray, Gregory and Chris; and three grandchildren.
Services 1 p.m. Friday at Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel, burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time.
James Anson
DERBY - James Ralph Anson, 88, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Derby, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center in Louisville.
He retired in 1978 from General Electric.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen; a stepdaughter, rma Jo Gambert; a son, James R. Jr.; a sister, Minnie M. Ransom; a brother, Jerome; and 10 grandchildren.
Services 11 a.m. EST Friday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel, burial in Derby Cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time.
"Ed" Dayton
WASHINGTON - Ellis Edwin "Ed" Dayton, 76, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at his home.
He had worked for U.S. Steel and the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Rose; a daughter, Catherine Gish; a son, Donald; a brother, Don; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. EST Friday at Gill Funeral Home, burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 6 p.m. Kiwanis service.

Edith Hess
TROY - Edith L. Hess, 78, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Beverly Health Care in Tell City.
She was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Spencer County, Ind., the daughter of Carrie (Gengelbach) and Irving Meunier.
Edith Meunier and Earl Hess were united in marriage September 19, 1946. They were married for 55 years. Edith was a member of St. John Chrysostom Church and its Ladies Sodality.
Surviving are her husband, Earl J. Hess of Troy; a son, Larry Hess of Mariah Hill, Ind.; a daughter, Diane Deom of Troy; brothers, Ferdinand Meunier of Dale, Ind., Charles Meunier of Santa Claus, Ind., and Alfred Meunier of Borden, Ind.; granddaughters, Emily and Katrina Hess; grandsons, Andrew Hess and Neil Deom; granddaughters, Stacy Holley and Tammy Deom; a great-grandson, Jayce Deom; and a great-granddaughter, Brynna Holley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Carrie Meunier; brothers, Walter and Albert Meunier; and a sister, Edna Blumeier.
The funeral will be held at St. John Chrysostom Church, Saturday, February 23, 2002, at 10 a.m. EST, Father Paul Roos officiating, burial will take place Feb. 23, 2002, in the St. John Chrysostom Church Cemetery
located at New Boston, Ind.
Visitation will be Feb. 22, Fri. from 2 to 8:30 p.m. EST at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and Feb. 23, Sat. from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at Zoercher-Gillick. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. EST Friday night at the funeral home.

'Ted' Munsterman
MOUNT VERNON - Theodore T. "Ted" Munsterman, 60, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at his home.
He was a bartender at the Eagles and a farmer.
Surviving are four sisters, Mary Amelia and Sister Emma Anne Munsterman, Judith Martin and Sheila Joyner; and two brothers, Henry and Michael.
Services will be at noon Friday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, burial pending. There will be no visitation at Austin Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ursuline Sisters of Mount St. Joseph.
Esther Myers
WASHINGTON - Esther Bernice (Fielder) Myers, 90, formerly of Epsom, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Surviving are four daughters, Eleanor Johnston, Carol Gideon, Mary Padgett and Myrna Crum; two sons, Marlin and Rudy Z.; and 21 grandchildren.
Services 1:30 p.m. EST Saturday at the First Christian church, burial in Painville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gill Funeral Home and after noon on Saturday at the church.
William Rhodes Sr.
CANNELTON - William S. Rhodes Sr., 92, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Bakers Rest Haven in Boonville.
He was a farmer.
Surviving are a son, William S. Jr.; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. EST Sunday, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, burial in St. Augustine Church Cemetery
in Leopold. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time.
Esther Schraner
DERBY - Esther M. Schraner, 93, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
Surviving are a son, Linus; and four grandchildren.

Edith Steffen
JASPER - Edith Jo (Wineinger) Steffen, 80, of Jasper, Indiana, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, in Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasper.
She retired from Dr. St. John Lukemeyer's office in Jasper where she worked for 50 years as his nurse.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Trinity United Church of Christ Music and Art Coterie, past member of the Jasper Business and Professional Women Club.
She was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on September 22, 1921, the daughter of Barney and Edith (Marshall) Oskins. She married twice, her first marriage was to Neil Wineinger. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1980. Her second marriage was to Earl Steffen, December 26, 1984.
Surviving are her husband, Earl Steffen; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Jones of Evansville; a stepdaughter, Jane Wilson of Santa Claus, Ind.; 4 stepsons, John E. Steffen of Belleville, Ill., and Carl, Michael and Jeffery Steffen, all of Jasper, Ind.; a sister, Eva Harlow of Jasper; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her first husband, are a sister, Garneta Helmerich, and a brother, Cletus M. Oskins.
Funeral services for Edith Jo Steffen will be held at 11 a.m. EST Saturday (February 23, 2002) in the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper with burial to follow in the Portersville Cemetery
at Portersville, Ind. The Rev. Larry Langer will officiate.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to Trinity United Church of Christ.
Alice Earhart
Alice E. Earhart, 76, of Peru, Ind., died at 7:06 p.m. Feb. 18, 2002, at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.
She was born July 31, 1925, in Peru, Ind., the daughter of the late George and Hilda S. (Study) Teaboldt and lived all her life there.
She was formerly employed with Cole-Wildman-Cole (attorneys) and also the Wabash Railroad Hospital and she had worked for the office of Drs. Sam and Don Ferrara, all in Peru.
She married Robert C. Earhart Sr. on December 12, 1953, and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert C. Earhart Jr. and his wife, Kayla of Evansville and Fort Branch, Ind.; 2 granddaughters, Emily K. and Holly E. Earhart; and an uncle, Verlynne Study. She was also preceded in death by a brother, George "Andy" Teaboldt Jr.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home in Peru, Ind., the Rev. William Shewman officiating, burial in Mount Hope Cemetery
in Peru.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
