Roger 'Barney' Patrick
January 19, 1945 - July 7, 1999
Roger "Barney" Duane Patrick, 54, Brookston, died Wednesday, July 7, at the Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Jan. 19, 1945, to Edward and Gladys Dunk Patrick in Tippecanoe County. He was married March 29, 1974, to Ina Kiser, in Monticello, and she survives.
He graduated from Chalmers High School in 1965.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969 as a Gunner's Mate G in Ordinance Mechanics. He received the National Defense Service medal for serving in Vietnam. He also received two Service Medal Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He was employed by Dirk and Dad Trucking of Reynolds.
He was a member of the Chalmers American Legion Post No. 268, the Reynolds V.F.W. and the 40 and 8 of Monticello.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Gladys Patrick of Lafayette; two stepsons, Michael Keeton of Reynolds and Stanley Keeton of Monticello; two stepdaughters; Rebecca Langellier of Reynolds; three sisters, Mary Pemberton of Fairmount, Norma Garriott of Lafayette and Sharon Davis of toney, Ala; eight brothers, Elmer, Ralph, Evan and Roy, all of Lafayette, Kenneth of West Lafayette, Donald of Pahrump, Nev., Homer of Largo, Florida and James of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; and nine stepgrandchildren.
His father and stepdaughter are deceased.
A memorial service for family and friends was Saturday at Chalmers American Legion, with the Rev. Donald Bushong officiating.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of arrangements.
Angie L. Paugh
December 27, 1923 - February 21, 1989
Angie L. Cooksey Paugh, 65, Brookston, died unexpectedly at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in St Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Glasgow, Kentucky. She was married Dec. 27, 1942 to Dallas Paugh Sr., who died Dec. 2nd.
Mrs. Paugh and her husband owned and operated the Brookston IGA Store from 1960 until 1963. She had resided in Brookston since 1960, moving here from Veedersburg.
Mrs. Paugh was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Dallas Paugh Jr., Brookston; a daughter, Roxana Mcintosh, Brookston; her mother, May Cooksey, Crawfordsville; three sisters, Louriede Kinslow, Thorntown, Nina Kinslow. Frankfort and Margaret Cooksey, Crawfordsville; and two brothers, Leroyce Cooksey, Indianapolis and Winfred Cooksey Sr., Magnolia, Kentucky. Also four grandchildren survive. Two daughters, Karen and Marie Paugh preceded in death.
Services was today in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, at 10 a.m.with the Rev. Gene Ansell officiating.
Interment was in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
Dallas E. Paugh Sr.
March 27, 1924 - December 2, 1988
Dallas Edward Paugh Sr., 64, Brookston, died Friday, Dec. 2 at 12:21 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. He had been in failing health since 1982.
A retired retail grocer, he owned and operated the IGA in Brookston from 1960 until 1963.
He was born March 27, 1924, in Lebanon, and' graduated from New Ross High School in 1942, moving to Brookston in 1960 from Veedersburg.
Mr. Paugh was a member of Brookston United Methodist Church; AOPA; Brookston American Legion Post 251; and a charter member of Brookston Optimist Club, formerly serving two terms as president. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was married Dec. 27, 1942, to Angie Lyons Cooksey, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Dallas Paugh Jr.; one daughter, Mrs. Roxana McIntosh, both of Brookston, and a sister, Mrs. Delores McKinney, Crawfordsville, 4 grandchildren. Two daughters, Karen and Marie Paugh preceded in death.
Service was Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Gene Ansell officiating.
Interment was in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
Bertha S. Percell
May 7, 1893 - May 9, 1989
Bertha S. Percell, 96, formerly of R.2, Brookston, died Tuesday at 6:45 am. in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. She had been a patient since April 1988.
She was born, May 7, 1893, to John and Emma Maggart Simmermon, in Illinois. She was married Dec. 1, 1913, to Pleasant A. "Pap" Percell, who died Oct. 9, 1985.
She was a homemaker who. lived in the Brookston-Delphi area for 40 years. She was a member of the United Brethren Church at Shelbyville and attended the Delphi Pentecostal Church. She was a member of the Carroll County Farm Bureau, also.
Survivors include son, Kenneth, Delphi; a grandson; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
A graveside. service was conducted today at 11 a.m. at Glen Cove Cemetery
in Knightstown.
The Horn Funeral Home in Delphi. was in charge.
Dale B. Percell
March 11, 1940 - September 11, 1995
Dale R. Percell, 55, R.2, Brookston, died Monday, Sept. 11, at 12:28 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center.
Mr. Percell was employed at Martins Craw Farm in Brookston.
He was born March 11, 1940 in Westport. He was married May 16, 1958, to Karen S. Burge, in Sarasota, Florida, and she survives.
He was a member of the First Apostolic Church. He attended Pittsburg School and Delphi High School.
Surviving with his wife are four sons, Tim Percell, Cookeville, Tenn.; Darrell Percell, Darrin Percell and Leonard Percell, all of Brookston; two daughters, Teresa Webb and Darlene Percell, both of Maryville, Tenn.; and his parents, Kenneth A. and Dorothy Kelley Percell, Livingston, Tennessee. Also nine grandchildren survive. A grandson preceded in death.
Service was Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, with Pastor Gilbert Ingram officiating.
Burial was Thursday in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Marjorie L. Hart Perkins
March 26, 1936 - March 6, 1994
Marjorie L. Hart Perkins, 57, West Lafayette, formerly of Brookston, died Sunday afternoon, March 6, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center emergency room.
She was born March 26, 1936 in Otterbein to Clarence "Jake" and Gladys Norwood Hart. She married Ralph E. Perkins in Burlington on October 13, 1953 and he survives.
She moved from Brookston to West Lafayette three years ago.
She had been employed for 18 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center where she was a supervisor in the housekeeping department until she retired in 1991.
Surviving with her husband are five sons, Roger of Otterbein, Ron and Dennis both of West Lafayette, and Robert and Thomas both of Lafayette; three brothers, Larry of Brookston, Daniel of Burrows, and Lowell, address unknown; and 15 grandchildren.
Twin daughters, three grandchildren and one brother are deceased.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston, the Rev. Leland McReynolds officiated.
Burial was in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
Ralph F. Perkins
February 11, 1933 - January 7, 1999
Ralph F. Perkins, 65, Lafayette, formerly of Brookston, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
He was born Feb. 11, 1933, to Sidney and Lora Perkins, in Howard County. He was married Oct. 13, 1953, to Marjorie L. Hart, in Burlington, and she died March 6, 1994.
He had lived in Lafayette, for the past several years, moving there from Brookston.
He had worked as an elevator electrician at Purdue, retiring in 1995.
Surviving are five sons, Roger and Robert, both of Lafayette and Ronald, Dennis and Thomas, all of West Lafayette; a brother, Keith of Kokomo; 18 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. .
Two daughters and three grandchildren are deceased.
A graveside service was held Monday at the IOOF Cemetery
at Brookston. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, is in charge of the service.
Ronald Dale Perkins
December 29, 1957 - March 6, 1999
Ronald Dale Perkins, 41 of West Lafayette died Saturday, March 6, 1999 in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He had been ill six months and had been hospitalized since December 29th.
He was born December 29, 1957 in Lafayette the son of Ralph and Marjorie Hart Jenkins.
He had attended Brookston Schools and was a welder at Wabash National Corporation for the past 6 years. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corp. for 17 years, serving as an Infantry Unit Leader during the Gulf War Desert Storm. He had served as a Marine recruiter and was in the National Guard for 2 years.
He is survived by his wife Sandra E. (Smith) Perkins and a son Dale Perkins at home.
Four brothers also survive. Roger and Robert Perkins both of Lafayette and Dennis and Thomas Perkins both of West Lafayette. He also had several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Janet and Joyce.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with Pastor Lloyd Veldhuizen officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery
in Brookston with a Marine Detachment from Indianapolis conducting military rites.
Friends may call at the Hartzler Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Earl A. Perry
January 15, 1915 - August 9, 1990
Earl A. Perry, 75, R.2, Delphi, died Thursday, Aug. 9, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette.
He was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Scott County. He was married Feb. 10, 1980, to Ruth Overman, who died Sept. 29, 1983.
He had lived in Carroll County for 10 years.
He was a 1934 graduate of Round Grove High School. He was a custodian for the former Basney Ford Co. in Lafayette, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Irene Speer, Delphi; one son, William Earl, Laurinburg, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Two brothers are deceased.
The funeral was Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston, with Pastor Jerry Wilson officiating.
Burial was in IOOF Cemetery
at Brookston.
