Milton Lawlin "Red" Lang
Milton Lawlin "Red" Lang, 73, of Moscow, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
He was born Feb. 13, 1928, at Anson, Texas, the son of Theodore William and Ada (Morris) Lang.
On Nov. 22, 1949, he married Rosie Marie Lankford at Gail, Texas. They lived in Petersburg, Texas, before moving to Big Bow and then to Moscow in 1971.
Mr. Lang was a farm laborer and had worked in maintenance for the City of Moscow for several years. He was a member of Moscow Baptist Church, was an assistant Boy Scout master, and had volunteered for the Moscow Fire Department for 20 years and for EMS of Moscow for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Milton Jerry Lang, Manteca, Calif., William James Lang, Pittsburg, and Roger Dale Lang, Branson, Mo.; two daughters, Gloria Jean Mauer, Fort Lupton, Colo., and Shawna Gay Pipher, Moscow; a brother, Morris D. Lang, Tyler, Texas; two sisters, Juanita Gloria Weddle, Riverdale, Ga., and Betty Jean Aldridge, Augusta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moscow Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Moscow Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Tuesday at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Memorials are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
Mabel Holland Knox
SUBLETTE - Funeral for Mabel Holland Knox, 94, of Attica, was to be 10 this morning at the United Methodist Church, Attica, with the Rev. Dairel O'Bar officiating. Burial was to be in Attica Cemetery.
Mrs. Knox died Saturday, May 19, 2001, in Wichita.
She was born Dec. 25, 1906, in Harper County, the daughter of Allen C. and Anna M. (Koeppen) Harnden.
A homemaker, she was a member of the United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star and the Blue Thursday Club, all at Attica.
On Nov. 12, 1927, she married William Holland at Anthony. He died Oct. 31, 1969. She married James Knox on April 12, 1980, at Attica. He died April 12, 1992.
She is survived by two sons, Bob Holland, Wichita, and Larry Holland, Sublette; a daughter, Jean Spalding, Wichita; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Attica Library, in care of Elliott Mortuary, Anthony.
Florence V. Simpson
TRIBUNE - Funeral for Florence V. Simpson, 89, will be 10 a.m. MST Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Tribune, with the Rev. Keith Fink officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery, Tribune.
Mrs. Simpson died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.
She was born Feb. 17, 1912, in Rice County, the daughter of William and Martha (Erdman) Schurr.
A Tribune resident since 1934, she was the owner/operator of A.R. Simpson Oil Co., retiring in 1979. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Raymond, Order of Eastern Star at Garden City and VFW Auxiliary at Tribune.
On Sept. 16, 1934, she married A.R. Simpson at Raymond. He died Nov. 12, 1966, at Denver. She was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Marlen K. Kuder, Tribune.

Wesley Dale Giesbrecht
ULYSSES - Funeral for Wesley Dale Giesbrecht, 55, of rural Ulysses, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grant Mennonite Church, Ulysses. Stuart Jantzen and Denton Koehn, ministers, will officiate. Burial will be in Grant Mennonite Cemetery, Ulysses.
Mr. Giesbrecht died unexpectedly Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Grant Mennonite Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 17, 1945, at Ingalls, the son of William W. and Hulda E. (Unruh) Giesbrecht.
A farmer, he was a member of Church Of God In Christ Mennonite, Ulysses.
On July 29, 1979, he married Myrna Schmidt at Livingston, Calif. She survives. He is also survived by a son, Wayland W. Giesbrecht, of the home; three daughters, Marcella J. Giesbrecht, Lisa Ann Giesbrecht and Michelle Jo Giesbrecht, all of the home; a brother, Galen Giesbrecht, Sunray, Texas; three sisters, Clareen Unruh, Gentry, Ark., Velda Unruh, Moundridge, and Jane Wiggers, Comstock, Wis.; and a sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clayton and Bill Giesbrecht.

Eleanor Seibel
Rosary for Eleanor Seibel, 72, of Sharon Springs, was 7 p.m. MT Friday at Koons Funeral Home, Sharon Springs. Funeral will be 10 a.m. MT today at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Sharon Springs, with the Rev. Francis Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Seibel died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Aug. 24, 1929, at Sharon Springs, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Atherton) Alley. In 1948, she graduated from Wallace County High School.
On April 18, 1949, she married Francis L. Seibel in Sharon Springs. They owned and managed the Seibel Motel for many years. He died Sept. 25, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Seibel was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
She is survived by three children, Steve Seibel, Dodge City, Stephanie Martin, Holcomb, and Mike Seibel, Hays; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Darlene Giersdorf, Sharon Springs; a brother, George Alley, Sterling, Colo.; and an aunt.

Alvin C. Peaster
MONTEZUMA - Memorial service for Alvin C. Peaster, 75, of Montezuma and formerly of Grant, Neb., will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Home Chapel, Montezuma. Donald Koehn, minister, will officiate.
An additional service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Golden Plains Mennonite Church, Madrid, Neb. Ray Frank, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Madrid Cemetery.
Mr. Peaster died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma, where he had been a resident since March 2, 1998.
He was born March 18, 1926, in Gray County, the son of Joseph and Susie (Becker) Peaster. He attended school through the eighth grade at Copeland.
Mr. Peaster was a fieldman for a fertilizer and chemical business. He was a member of Church Of God In Christ Mennonite-Golden Plains Mennonite Congregation, Madrid.
On Jan. 5, 1947, he married Dorothy C. Becker at Atwater, Calif. She survives. He is also survived by three sons, Bruce and Garold, both of Madrid, and David, Bonners Ferry, Idaho; a daughter, Charleen Ensz, Atwater; seven brothers, Marvin, Brooksville, Miss., Archie, Montezuma, Glen, Bonners Ferry, Leonard and Raymond, both of Winton, Calif., Homer, Atwater, and Joseph Jr., Merced, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy Bolcoa, Atwater, and Gracie Faddis, Maderia, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lee.

Clarence Ebben Nickerson
SYRACUSE - Clarence Ebben Nickerson, 82, of Syracuse, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born April 26, 1919, at Syracuse, the son of Hiram Ebben and Anna (Moore) Quinby-Nickerson.
A lifetime resident of Syracuse and Hamilton County, he attended school there. He moved to Hutchinson and worked for Cessna for two years before going into the U.S. Navy for two years.
He married June M. Squire on Dec. 11, 1940, at Syracuse. After being discharged from the Navy, he and his wife returned to Syracuse where they farmed wheat and milo, but most of all he loved tending to his cattle. For more than 21 years, he and his wife traveled to Zapata, Texas, for the winter months.
Mr. Nickerson was a former member of the Syracuse Odd Fellows. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking projects, tinkering with equipment, his garden and fruit trees, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra Huser, Syracuse, and Sue Bechtel, Sedgwick; a brother, Glen, Apache Junction, Ariz.; a sister, Nicki Orsborn, Manchaca, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ted; and two sisters, Edna Hooper and Elsie Hearn.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. MST Monday at First Christian Church, Syracuse, with the Rev. Mike Lewis officiating. Graveside committal service will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. MST today and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. MST Sunday at Greene-Fellers Funeral Home & Monuments, Syracuse. The family will meet privately at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a flower card reading planned for 7 p.m.
