OLMITZ - Margaret Louise Rabenseifner, 84, died Jan. 15 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend. She was born June 20, 1916, at Claflin, the daughter of Bert and Anna Reif Kaiser. She married
Bernard A. Rabenseifner May 2, 1939, at Hoisington. A lifetime resident of Barton County, she was a homemaker and a retired nurse at CKMC in Great Bend. Mrs. Rabenseifner was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Olmitz. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Bernard Rabenseifner of Great Bend; four daughters, Darlene Hoffacker of Colorado Springs, Colo., Diane Zink of Claflin, Elaine Seeman of Lawrence and Patti Rabenseifner of St. John; three brothers, Tony Kaiser of Bushton, Frank Kaiser and Ed Kaiser, both of Hoisington; one sister, Rose Riedel of Ellinwood; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Kaiser; four half-brothers, Joe Kaiser, Lawrence Kaiser, Louie Kaiser and John Kaiser; three sisters, Theresa Nather, Leona Stewart and Eleanor Schwartz; two half-sisters, Sister Bertrand Kaiser and Sister Rita Kaiser; and one great-grandchild. Wake service will be at 7 tonight at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington, followed by Altar Society rosary. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Edna Faye Weber 1917-2001
LARNED - Edna Faye Weber, 83, died Jan. 15 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus in Larned. She was born Aug. 22, 1917, at Portis, the daughter of Joseph C. and Lillie Maye Buchannan Knott. She married
G. Frank Weber May 23, 1949, at Larned. He died July 16, 1992. A lifetime resident of Larned, she was a homemaker. Survivors include two nieces, Betty Nolan and Misty Radcliff, both of Wichita. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patsy Lee; three brothers, Charles Knott, Jim Knott and John Knott; and one sister, Josephine Hazel Dawson. A memorial gathering will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned with the Rev. John Grummon officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Larned Cemetery. JETMORE - May Law, 88, died Jan. 15 at Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore. She was born Sept. 13, 1912, at Ness City, the daughter of Lon E. and Maggie Reynolds Abel. She married
Orval Ray Law Jr. July 9, 1955. He died Jan. 30, 1992. A lifetime resident of Ness and Hodgeman counties, she was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Raymond Law of Garfield and Tommy Jones of Colbert, Ga.; one daughter, Sally Krehbiel of Mesa, Ariz.; and one sister, Ruth Ross of Reasnor, Iowa. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Alfred Abel, Albert Abel, Ray Abel, Ralph Abel and Glenn Abel; and two sisters, Irene and Ethel. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairmount cemetery in Jetmore with the Rev. Mitch Reece officiating. JETMORE - Wesley Morgan Hendrickson, 61, died Jan. 15 at his home in Jetmore. He was born Nov. 28, 1939, in Hodgeman County, the son of Irvin Wesley and Daisy Pitts Hendrickson. He was a graduate of Jetmore High School. He married

Sandy Jean Schlereth Aug. 30, 1972. A resident of Jetmore for most of his life, he was a farmer. Hendrickson was a member of First Baptist Church and Chester Hawkins American Legion Post 290, both of Jetmore. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include two sons, John Hendrickson of Spearville and Michael Hendrickson of Jetmore; two daughters, Penny Baker of McPherson and Lynette Alley of Monette, Mo.; his mother of Jetmore; one brother, Sam Hendrickson of Jetmore; one sister, Joyce Reed of Kalvesta; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Irvin Wesley Hendrickson. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Mark Durham officiating. LARNED - Edward Andy Naugle, 71, died Jan. 15 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Jospeh Campus in Larned. He was born Feb. 5, 1929, in Nobel, Mo., the son of Orville and Helen Z. Bushong. He married
Viola Mae Banes Dec. 10, 1949, in Mountain Home, Ark. She died Jan. 31, 2000. A resident of Larned since 1963, he was a laborer. Naugle was of the Christian faith. Survivors include three sons, Charles Naugle of Larned, Michael Naugle of Garfield and Joseph Naugle of Hutchinson; five daughters, Alice Marie Robison, Teresa Lynn Humphries and Brenda Louise Farmer, all of Larned, Wanda Gay McKenna of Hutchinson and Shirley Ann Helms of Park; his mother of Bixby, Okla.; two brothers, Ray Naugle of Bixby and Rex Naugle of Joplin, Mo.; one sister, Bonnie May Harmen of Chaffee, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth A. Whisnant. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Morell Funeral Home in Larned with the Rev. Rick Clark officiating. Merlin Dale Gagelman 1943-2001
Merlin Dale Gagleman, 57, died Jan. 14 at his home in Great Bend. He was born May 14, 1943, in Great Bend, the son of Norman and Edna Belle Doonan Gagelman. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was a farmer. Gagelman was a member of Peace Lutheran Chruch of Albert, Eagle's Lodge, Lake Barton Golf Club, Cooking Cousins Pig Caterers and director of the Ellinwood Mutual Insurance Company. Survivors include two sons, Jerry L. Gagelman of Urbana, Ill., and Lance D. Gagelman of Hays; one daughter, Krista D. Hagelman of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother of Great Bend; one sister, Janelda Brummitt of St. Louis, Mo.; and companion, Connie Funk Schremmer. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Ethan Feistner officiating. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran cemetery in Albert. SALINA - Niles L. Hauser, 52, died Jan. 12 in the Washington, D.C. area. He was born Dec. 12, 1949, in Great Bend, the son of Keith and Sarah Hauser. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas. He married
Sharon Hauser. A resident of Salina since 1973, coming from Ellinwood, he was a certified scuba diver instructor and a licensed multi-engine instument commercial pilot. Hauser was a member of the 1968 Kansas Jayhawk Orange Bowl Football team, the National Ski Patrol, the Sunrise Rotary Club, the choir at Sunrise Presbyterian Church in Salina, the Salina Country Club, and the KU Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Phillip Hauser of Las Vegas, Nev., Christopher Hauser of Manhattan and Jason Hauser of Kansas City; his mother, of Salina; and two brothers, Mark Hauser of Overland Park and Byron Hauser of Franklin, Ohio. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. at Lakin-Comanche cemetery in Ellinwood, followed by a fly over scattering his aches over the family farm and Arkansas River south of Ellinwood. A second memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the church in Salina. RUSSELL - Esther Nuss, 87, died Jan. 15 at her home in Russell. She was born July 14, 1913, in Russell County, near Milberger, the daughter of Johann George and Helena Dietz Blehm. She married
Harold Nuss Dec. 3, 1930, in Milberger. A resident of Russell since 1940, coming from Milberger, she worked as a Avon representative for over 20 years. Mrs. Nuss was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Russell. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Harold Dean Nuss of Russell; three daughters, Dorothy Funk and Marjorie Mighell, both of Russell, and Karen Kay Gaines of Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Reuben Blehm; and four sisters, Martha Blehm, Helena Blehm, Hannah Blehm and Rachel Keister. Dixie Lee Simpson Sept. 14, 1950, in Chase. A resident of Stillwater, coming from Henderson, Nev., he worked for various oil rigs. He owned and operated Chase Well Service until his retirement in 1987. Link was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, both in Stillwater. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Stephen Link of Plainville and Randy Link of Hays; two daughters, Vicki Black of Stillwater and Paula Link of Henderson; three brothers, James Link of Longview, Wash., John Link of Vancouver, Wash., and Arnold Link of Chehalis, Wash.; five sisters, Marilyn Muth of Vernal, Utah, Joan Taylor of Hobbs, N.M., Carolyn Schoenhofer of Lyons, Kathleen Link of Great Bend and Mary Sue Ackerman of Ellinwood; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Joseph E. 'Ed' Jilg 1919-2001
EL DORADO - Joseph E. "Ed" Jilg, 81, died Jan. 15 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. He was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Barton County, the son of Engelbert and Anna Langer Jilg. He was a 1937 graduate of Hoisington High School. He married
Hazel Warner May 18, 1946. A resident of El Dorado since 1946, he was employed by the Kansas Employment Security Division. He worked for K-T Oil Corporation. Jilg was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado, and served as a deacon, elder and trustee. He was a member of the American Legion, a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, El Dorado Travel Club, El Dorado Historical Society, El Dorado Square Dance Club and Meals on Wheels. He entered the military service Sept. 3, 1941, in Leavensworth. He served in the U.S. and the European Theatre of operations as a Squadron Armorer T-4 Grade. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Ronald Jilg of Wichita and Curtis Jilg of El Dorado; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted Jilg, Walter Jilg and Henry Jilg; and one sister, Hermina Jilg. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Dennis Schaffer June 6, 1964, in Liebenthal. A resident of La Crosse for 36 years, coming from Munjor, she was a convenience store owner. Mrs. Schaffer was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of La Crosse. Survivors include her husband; one son, Calvin Schaffer of Eureka; three daughters, Gale Fischer of Ellis, LeAnn Woods of Garden City and Sarah Burk of La Crosse; two sisters, Mildred Klaus of Ellis and Elsie Dreher of Hoisington; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Klaus and Kenneth Klaus; and one sister, Patricia Beakey. Rosary will be at 7:30 tonight at Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse. Katherine Friesen in 1963 in Topeka. They were divorced. A resident of Maple Hill, coming to the Topeka area in 1963 from Hudson, he was was a truck driver and former co-owner of Capital City Moving and Storage. Fischer was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Hudson, American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend and Republican National Committee. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Tingley and the USS Yarnall. Survivors include one son, Brian Fischer of Great Bend; two daughters, Dana Lloyd of Ellinwood and Lora Cushard of Murrayville, Ga.; one stepson, Eric Friesen; five stepdaughters, Janet Friesen, Karie Snyder, Lorin Friesen, Leanne Jowers and Marcile Dean; two sisters, Reta M. Schreiber of Great Bend and Alice M. Nichols of Gunnison, Colo.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Jo Fischer.
