PONCA CITY, Okla. - Jodi Lynn Clone, 31, died May 8 at Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1071, at Ponca City, the daughter of Richard and Barbara (James) Colvin. She attended Ponca City High School and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. She married Kevin S. Clone Jan. 1, 2001, at Ponca City. Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Sam Colvin and Jackey Matthews, both of Ponca City; three step-sons, Kenneth Clone, Kyle Clone and Kristopher Clone, all of Great Bend; one brother, Chris Brittain of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Robin Clary of Overland Park; her mother, Barbara Graves of Ponca City; step-father, Harold Graves of Ponca City; and grandfather, Wilber James Sr. of Ponca City. She was preceded in death by Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at in the chapel of Trout Funeral Home in Ponca City with the Rev. Toby Blackstar officiating. Memorials are suggested in her name to Victory Junction Medical Gang Camp, 311 Branson Mill Rd, Randleman, NC 27317. May 10, 2003

Mary Frances Staab 1929-2003
SALINA — Mary Frances Staab, 73, died April 19. She was born Aug. 10, 1929, at Salina. She married Christopher Pinkenburg. He died in 1986. She married Robert J. Staab. A resident of Salina, she was a home economics teacher for more than 20 years and taught at Assaria High School. Survivors include her husband of the home; three stepsons, Michael Staab of Winnetka, Ill., Alan Staab of Tulsa, Okla., and Eric Staab of Salina; one stepdaughter, Mary Ann Staab of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, John Komarek and Francis Komarek, both of Salina; and seven step grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 23 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salina. Burial was at Bavaria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church in Salina or Bavaria Cemetery, both in care of Ryan Mortuary in Salina. May 10, 2003

Blaine N. Bidwell 1916-2003
LAWRENCE — Blaine N. Bidwell, 86, died May 8 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence. He was born May 18, 1916, at Rosalia, the son of Charles F. and Iva Bell Nelson Bidwell. He was a graduate of Butler County Community College. He married Hazel Kirkman in 1940 in ElDorado. She died in 1983. He married Nellie Hale in March 1991 in Mission. A resident of Lawrence, he was a plumber for Norris Brothers in Lawrence. Bidwell was a member of Plumbers Union for 50 years, Masonic Lodge and Plymouth Congregational Church of Lawrence. He was active in AARP, Autumn Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a volunteer at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in World War II. Survivors include his wife of the home; and two brothers, Bill Bidwell of Great Bend and Ed Bidwell of El Dorado. He was preceded in death by three sisters. Memorial service will be at 1 this afternoon at Warren- McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorials are suggested to donor’s choice, in care of the funeral home. May 10, 2003

Deborah E. Taylor 1910-2003
JETMORE — Deborah E. Taylor, 92, died May 7 at Huntington Park Nursing Home in Papillion, Neb. She was born Oct. 4, 1910, at Rozel, the daughter of Louis A. and Margaret I. Burns Blattner. She married Rawleigh F. “Puck” Taylor June 26, 1935, at Jetmore. He died April 25, 1975. A resident of Bellevue, Neb. since 1992, coming from Jetmore, she was a country school teacher and a homemaker. Mrs. Taylor was a member of United Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star, both of Jetmore. Survivors include one son, Michael Taylor of Goodland; two daughters, Janice Mauk of Bellevue and Martha Burr of Rockyford, Colo.; one sister, Lois Dansel of Jetmore; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Blattner and Louis Blattner; four sisters, Marjorie Briggs, Rhoda Blattner, Mary Margaret Blattner and Berta Blattner; and one grandson, Dale Taylor. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Bill McConnelee officiating. Burial will be at Fairmont cemetery in Jetmore. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, all at Beckwith Funeral Home in Jetmore. Memorials are suggested to the church, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association, all in care of the funeral home. May 10, 2003

Francisco ‘Frank’ M. Perez 1942-2003
LARNED — Francisco “Frank” M. Perez, 61, died May 7 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Larned. He was born March 9, 1942, at Kinsley, the son of Clemente R. and Lucia Mariche Perez. He married Vicki Scheck Nov. 21, 1969, at Larned. A resident of Larned since 1960, coming from Kinsley, he was a retired equipment operator for Kansas State Highway Department. Perez was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Fort Larned Sam’s Club, all of Larned. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Allen Perez of Larned and Alvin Perez of Belleville; three daughters, Alicia Puleo of Stockton, Adria Unruh of Great Bend and Amanda Clark of Larned; seven brothers, Guadelupe “Lupe” Perez, John Perez, Manuel Perez, Raymond Perez, Terry Perez and Anthony Perez, all of Larned, and Felix M. Perez of Hutchinson; two sisters, Eleanor Sanders and Linda Garcia, both of Larned; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Perez and Felix Perez; and two sisters, Trina Ruiz and Jane Bronson. Parish vigil service will be at 7 tonight at the church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Reed officiating. Burial will be at Larned Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 6 tonight at Morell Funeral Home in Larned. Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart School or Dominican Sisters Missions, both in care of the funeral home. Amanda Lea Dashiell 1918- 2003
MACKSVILLE — Amanda Lea Dashiell, 84, died April 26 at Circle B. Ranch Nursing Home in Wilcox, Ariz. She was born Sept. 23, 1918, at Macksville. She attended Macksville schools. A resident of Wilcox, coming from Macksville, she was a homemaker. Survivors include one brother, Jerry Richard of Encinitas, Calif. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Farmington cemetery in Macksville with Gary Seibert officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Macksville Christian Church, in care of Minnis Chapel of Macksville. May 9, 2003

Tyler Lane Haxton 1982-2003
KINSLEY — Tyler Lane Haxton, 20, died May 7 at his home in Kinsley. He was born July 3, 1982, in Kinsley, the son of Rodney Haxton and Marsha Haxton Bagby. He attended Kinsley public schools from kindergarten through the seventh grade and Kansas State School for the Blind in Kansas City from seventh to 12th grade. A lifetime resident of Kinsley, he was an employee of Arrowhead West. Haxton was a member of United Methodist Church in Kinsley and was KSSB Outstanding Athlete of the Year and prom king in 1999 and 2000. Survivors include his father of Scott City; his mother and stepfather, Marsha and Tim Bagby of Kinsley; one brother, Ryan of the home; one stepsister, Susan Bagby of Weatherford, Okla.; one half-sister, Georgia Ballard of Inman; grandparents, Don and Boots Haxton of Bella Vista, Ark., and Wayne and Ila Rose; and stepgrandparents, Fran Bagby and Don Fredelake of Kinsley. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. David Bell officiating. There will be a private family burial. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned. The casket will be closed. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Arrowhead West, Make a Wish of Kansas or Southwind Hospice, all in care of the mortuary. May 9, 2003

Alberta Arlene Keil 1916-2003
Alberta Arlene Keil, 86, of Great Bend, died May 8 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. She was born Nov. 21, 1916, at Plainville, the daughter of Albert E. and Zada Wilson Buchheister. She married Alvin Archibald Keil Nov. 5, 1939, at Smith Center. He died March 2, 2003. A resident of Great Bend for 50 years, coming from Otis, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Keil was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Albert Keil of Pittsburg; two daughters, Cheryl Wesley of Great Bend and Jolene Morgan of Valdez, Alaska; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, G.A. Bud Buchheister; and four sisters, Erma Sitton, LaVera Toelkes, Nona Dutt and Ina Hockett. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. Shannon Vogelezang officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest cemetery north of Great Bend. Friends may call from 4 to 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, all at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home. May 9, 2003

Herbert L. ‘Herb’ Leiker 1931-2003
HAYS — Herbert L. “Herb” Leiker, 71, died May 6 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. He was born Oct. 29, 1931, at Hays, the son of Leo A. and Angela Klaus Leiker. He was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy. He married Bernetha “Bea” Boos June 3, 1952. Aresident of Hays since 1999, coming from Hill City, he was an oilfield worker and truck driver. Leiker was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic church and Knights of Columbus Council 10044 of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, both of Hays, and former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Hill City. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Michael J. Leiker of Omaha, Neb., Timothy Leiker of Elkart and Steven Leiker of Hays; two daughters, Sue Ellen Trimble of Garden City and Barbara Jean Mendoza of Winfield; five brothers, Erwin Leiker and LaVern Leiker, both of Great Bend, Reinhold Leiker and Art Leiker, both of Hays, and Kenneth Leiker of Council Grove; two sisters, Erma Dinges of Schoenchen and Norine Leiker of Victoria; and 12 grandchildren. A parish vigil service will be at 6 tonight and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6:30 tonight, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hays. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic church of Hays. Burial will be at St. Francis cemetery in Munjor. Friends may call from 5-8 tonight and from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Friday, all at the funeral home. May 8, 2003

Loretta Suzanne Doubrava 1916-2003
WILSON — Loretta Suzanne Doubrava, 86, died May 4 at Wilson Nursing Center. She was born Nov. 21, 1916, at Dorrance, the daughter of Joseph H. and Mary Thielen Hirt. She married Victor Doubrava in 1940 at Russell. He died March 11, 2000. Alifetime resident of the Wilson and Dorrance area, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Doubrava was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Dorrance. Survivors include one sister, Isabelle Fritschen of Wilson. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Jerome Morgan officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 this morning to 8 tonight at Foster Mortuary of Wilson. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph’s cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home. May 7, 2003

Ada Irene Newcomer Barker 1908-2003
STAFFORD — Ada Irene Newcomer Barker, 94, died May 5 at Leisure Homestead in Stafford. She was born July 24, 1908, in Russell County, the daughter of Calvin Levi and Alice Arabella Shenk Newcomer. She married Kenneth T. Barker June 6, 1937, at Russell. He died Feb. 13, 1922. A resident of Stafford for 34 years, coming from Gove County, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Barker attended United Brethren Church and United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Donald Levi Barker of Garden City and Norval Kenneth Barker of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Minnis Chapel in Stafford with the Rev. Kasey Crosby officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery in Hutchinson. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Memorials are suggested to Leisure Homestead or United Methodist Women, both in care of the chapel. May 7, 2003

Ernest J. Kaiser 1921-2003
HOISINGTON — Ernest J. Kaiser, 81, died May 4 at Bob Dole Veteran Hospital in Wichita. He was born Nov. 12, 1921, at Herington, the son of Fred J. and Mina Josephine Earhart Kaiser. He married Mary C. Gerritzen Feb. 11, 1956, at Hoisington. A resident of Hoisington since 1942, coming from Sarcoxie, Mo., he was a retired maintenance employee for the City of Hoisington. Kaiser was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fourth Knights of Columbus Council 1521 and American Legion Post 286, all of Hoisington. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Rose Mary Sanders of Wichita and Patricia Droste of Great Bend; and one sister, Florence Long of Sarcoxie. He was preceded in death by one brother, Frederick G. Kaiser and one sister, Sister Mary Emma. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday followed by Knights of Columbus Rosary, both at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Pascal Klein officiating. Burial will be at St. John cemetery in Hoisington with military graveside rites by Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7428 and American Legion Post 286. Friends may call from 1 to 9 tonight and from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. John cemetery fund in care of the funeral home. May 7, 2003

Hannelore “Ann” Schrader 1934-2003
ELLINWOOD — Hannelore “Ann” Schrader, 68, died May 4 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. She was born Aug. 29, 1934, at Bremerhaven, Germany, the daughter of Karl Herman and Swantje Gesine Martens Henrici. She married Mervin Schrader Nov. 26, 1954, at Frankfurt, Germany. A resident of Ellinwood for approximately 50 years, coming from Germany, she was a secretary for Electronics Center of Ellinwood, clerk for H&H IGA, employed by Turner & Boisseau Attorneys of Great Bend, and a homemaker. Mrs. Schrader was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, past president of Church Council and Women’s Fellowship, all of Ellinwood, and a Salvation Army volunteer. Survivors include her husband of the home; one daughter, Karen Schrader of Ellinwood; three brothers, Hermann Henrici of Aichtal, Germany, Horst Henrici of Barnhausen, Germany, and Manfred Henrici of Hutchinson; three sisters, Renate Ibsher of Hartford, Conn., Gesine Joost of Nordholz, Germany, and Rosemarie Rein of Larned. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. John Krueger officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 today and 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kimple Funeral Home of Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Great Bend Humane Society or Salvation Army, both in care of the funeral home. May 6, 2003
