AURORA, Colo. — Patricia Kay Brannin, 65, died April 13 at Hospice of Metro Denver in Aurora. She was born Feb. 21, 1939, the daughter of Charles D. and Ruth Ely Harris. She was a 1957 graduate of Great Bend High School. She was a resident of Aurora since 1968, coming from Great Bend.
She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Aurora.
Survivors include two brothers, Ted Brannin of Olathe and Jerry Harris of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend, with the Rev. Ted Stoecklein officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to the church in Aurora or Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, both in care of the funeral home.

Sharie Richardson 1938-2004
Sharie Richardson, 66, of Great Bend, died April 12 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. She was born Feb. 20, 1938, at Winfield, the daughter of Willis A. and Elsie Thompson Rowe. She married Jack Richardson March 7, 1957, in Winfield. A resident of Great Bend since 1969, coming from Winfield, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, David Richardson and his wife Carla of Woodward, Okla.; one daughter, Vicki Richardson of Great Bend; two brothers and wives, Bill and Pat Rowe of Great Bend, and Ron and Helen Rowe of Park City; two sisters, Thelma Buckman and her husband George of Winfield, and Helen Doubrava of Garden City; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Rowe of Winfield; one grandchild, Joshua Richardson of Woodward, Okla.; three stepgrandchildren, Brandon Williams and Kevin Williams, both of Texas, and PeggySue Williams of Woodward; and three step great-grandchildren, Adrian Williams, Dayson Williams and Denton Williams, all of Texas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Merle Rowe, two brothers-in-law, Joe Doubrava and Floyd Bolby; and one sister, Lorene Bolby.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. Don Paden officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery in Great Bend. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to National Kidney Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri, in care of the funeral home.

William ‘Bill’ T. Fuqua 1916-2004
KEARNEY, Mo. — William “Bill” T. Fuqua, 87, died April 11 at his residence. He was born Aug. 8, 1916, at Macksville, the son of William A. and Lennie Fuqua. He was a 1934 graduate of Macksville High School. A resident of Kearney for two years, coming from Great Bend, he was a carpenter, salesman for Mobro Corporation and worked for Davis Paint Company.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Great Bend, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, USS Helm Association and Elks. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II on the USS Helm.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Richards of Great Bend and Nancy Beaty of Kearney; four brothers, Bob Fuqua of Seward, Ivan Fuqua of Leavenworth, Clarence Fuqua of San Antonio, Texas, and Bruce Fuqua of Winfield; one sister, Rose Marie Hager of St. John; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Emma Fuqua, one daughter, Linda Lee Fuqua, and one brother, Calvin Fuqua.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. William Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Xavier cemetery in Seward. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Minnis Chapel in St. John. Memorials are suggested to Brit Spaugh Park and Zoo in Great Bend, in care of the funeral chapel.

Jerome Frank Haberman 1912-2004
Jerome Frank Haberman, 91, of Great Bend, died April 11 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. He was born June 23, 1912, in Barton County, the son of Henry and Anna Gleisner Haberman. He married Dixie Morrison Jan. 12, 1960, in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend, coming from Pawnee Rock, he was a foreman at Bureau of Mines Helium Activity in Otis, retiring in 1975.
Haberman was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend and the American Legion in Stafford. He served as a private first class in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Darin Haberman and wife Cheri of Great Bend; one brother, Benedict Haberman of Wichita; three grandchildren, Ashley Ellis, Matthew Haberman and Ryan Haberman, all of Great Bend; and one great-grandchild, Marcus Ellis of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by one infant son, Jerry Curt Haberman; three brothers, Carl Haberman, Alphons Haberman and Raymond Haberman; and one sister, Isabell LePore.
Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Father Reginald Urban officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Friends can call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children, in care of the funeral home.

E. Leon Marvin 1918-2004
LA CROSSE — E. Leon Marvin, 85, died April 10 at Rush County Memorial Hospital in La Crosse. He was born Oct. 22, 1918, in Nyberg, Colo., the son of Charles H. and Della M. Hendrix Marvin. He was a 1937 graduate of McCracken High School in McCracken. He married Laurene E. Friess Dec. 6, 1947, in Wichita. A 43-year resident of La Crosse, coming from Ransom, he was a depot agent and telegrapher for Missouri Pacific Railroad before his retirement.
He was a member of United Methodist Church in La Crosse, Veterans of Foreign Wars life member, Military Order of Cootie life member, American Legion, Walnut Valley Lodge 215 and Boy Scouts scout master. He served in World War II as a member of the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon, four Bronze Service Stars, World War II Victory ribbon and American Theater ribbon. He participated in battles and campaigns in Ardennes Rhineland, northern France, central Europe and the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include his wife of the home; five sons, Gerald Marvin of La Crosse, Dennis Marvin of Concordia, Gayle Marvin and his wife Cecila of South Berwick, Me., Merle Marvin and his wife Deanna of Holdrege, Neb., and Verle Marvin and his wife Diana of La Crosse; two daughters, Nancy Donnell of Saginaw, Texas, and Susan Sharp and her husband Gerry of Marysville; two sisters, Louise Burnham of Fremont, Neb., and Helen Yost of La Crosse; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Janousek Funeral Home Chapel in La Crosse, with the Revs. Marilyn Christmore and Gerry Sharp officiating. Burial will be at La Crosse City cemetery in La Crosse. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association, all in care of the funeral home.

Jeanine Dikeman 1954-2004
LARNED — Jeanine Dikeman, 49, died April 11 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born April 27, 1954, in Lyons, the daughter of Charles Earl and Helen Ruth Larson Miller. She married D. Gene Dikeman II on Feb. 19, 1977, in Lyons. She was a 1976 graduate of Kansas State University with a dietetics degree. A resident of Larned since 1981, coming from Beatrice, Neb., she was a real estate agent for Reep Real Estate in Larned.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, PEO, Parent Teachers Association, Picture Lady, all of Larned, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority of Manhattan and a volunteer for many organizations.
Survivors include her husband of the home; four daughters, Angela Ruth Dikeman, Charlotte Lee Dikeman, both of Topeka, Meredith Ann Dikeman of Newport Beach, Calif., and Catherine McNaught Dikeman of Manhattan; and one sister, Lucinda Kay Miller of Garden City.
Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Katharine Hart officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran cemetery in Marquette. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, all at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned. Memorials are suggested to Jeanine Dikeman Memorial Fund, in care of the mortuary.

Brandon Michael McPherson 1987-2004
WEATHERBY LAKE, Mo. — Brandon Michael McPherson, age 16 and 10 months, of Weatherby Lake, Mo., passed away Saturday, April 10. Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW, Highway 9, Kansas City, Mo., at 6 p.m. today. The Boy Scout Mi-co-say Ceremony will be at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Therese Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations to Park Hill Education Foundation or Boy Scout Troop 395 Scholarship Fund in Brandon’s memory.
Brandon was born May 31, 1987, in North Kansas City, Mo. The son of Brit and Denise McPherson, Brandon’s passion for life and depth of character is best expressed by one of his favorite quotations: “I don’t think there’s anything worse than being ordinary.” Brandon was anything but ordinary; he excelled in sports, school, scouting and civic leadership. Family and friends were a central part of his life. He lived life to its fullest and wanted to give more than he received. Brandon enjoyed SPCAA soccer, Wings WMSL soccer and was the team captain of the Park Hill tennis team. He embraced school for academics, the opportunity for leadership and his wit and charm brought many a smile. He was active in Park Hill High School Debate, Tarkus, Junior Assembly, National Honor Society, Character Council and was the vice president of the junior class. He recently donated 15 inches of his hair to Locks for Love. He was a life scout in Boy Scout Troop 395, earned the Arrow of Light from Cub Scout Pack 441, den chief in Cub Scout Pack 444 and a Hardway Warrior in the tribe of Mi-co-say with a tribal name of Blue Bull Shark. Brandon was a member of St. Therese Catholic parish.
He is survived by his parents, Brit and Denise McPherson of Weatherby Lake; his brother and nephew, David and Parker McPherson of Tucson, Ariz.; his sister, Courtney McPherson of Fort Worth, Texas; his grandparents, Brock and Barbara McPherson of Great Bend; and Rosemary Moore of Dickinson, Texas; his great-grandmother, Thelma McPherson of Salina; his aunts and uncles, Brad and Suzanne McPherson of Van Buren, Ark., Blair and Teresa McPherson of Great Bend, Boyd and Lisa McPherson of Wichita, Garry and DaNean Tolle of Valley Center; his cousins, Erik, Alex, Hugh, Baylor, Emily, Melanie, Kelsie, Brice, Trevor and Rachelle.

Dorothy L. Cavenah 1926-2004
SALINA — Dorothy L. Cavenah, 77, died April 8 at Salina. She was born Dorothy Lucille Finger on Sept. 21, 1926 at Odin. She had owned and operated the Juno Liquor Store in La Crosse. She also worked for Reggies Decorating in McPherson. After moving to Salina, she had worked for Jilka Furniture, until retiring in 1988.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, James H. Juno in 1951 and her second husband Glenn Cavenah in 1979; her parents, Francis L. and Clara C. Demel Finger; two stepchildren, Ramona Kincaid and David Cavenah; and one sister, Mildred A. Phillips.
She is survived by one son, James F. and wife Tancy Juno of McKinney, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn A. and husband Bob Parbs of Marrero, La.; four stepsons, Kenneth Cavenah of Rapid City, S.D., Charles Cavenah of Tulsa, Okla., Larry Cavenah of Bakersfield, Calif., and Dennis Cavenah of Sapulpa, Okla.; three stepdaughters, Juanita McCoy and Patty Borchert, both of Hutchinson, and Colette Cavenah of Columbia, Mo.; three brothers, Leonard of Larned, Marvin of Rozel and Francis Jr. of Fayetteville, Ark.; three sisters, Catherine A. Kuhlman of Trumbull, Neb., Mary Lou Wheeler of McPherson and Carolyn C. Urban of Salina; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Lane, Salina. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at La Crosse City Cemetery. A vigil/rosary service will be 7 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth St., Salina. Memorials are suggested to the church building fund or to the donor’s choice, both in care of the funeral home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Morris F. Brazda 1929-2004
VINITA, Okla. — Morris F. Brazda, 75, died April 7 at his home. He was born Jan. 16, 1929, at Olmitz, the son of Frank L. and Lillian A. Tuzicka Brazda Calp. He married Mary I. Kutina Marcotte Aug. 5, 1979, at Great Bend. A resident of Vinita since October 2003, coming from Great Bend, he was retired from Sherman-O’Neal Tank Company.
Brazda was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111, American Legion Post 180, Elks Lodge and Eagles Lodge, all of Great Bend. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Morris “Jay” Brazda of Timken, Dennis Brazda of Hays, Dr. Alan Marcotte of Winfield and Dr. John Marcotte of Vinita; five daughters, Sandy Hartman of Lincoln, Neb., Debbie Cochran of Sioux City, S.D., Christina Colombo of Strong City, Cynthia Stamer of Plano, Texas, and Connie Rehberg of Fort Collins, Colo.; three brothers, Alvin Brazda of Las Vegas, Nev., Calvin Calp of Hoisington and Charles Calp of Susank; one sister, Betty Puckett of Gainesville, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
